The purpose of this study is to look into primary school teacher candidates' experiences with virtual museums during the pandemic. For this purpose, the study was conducted with a phenomenology design, which is one of the qualitative research designs. The study's participants are 15 teacher candidates enrolled in the faculty of education for the 2020-2021 academic year. In the study, data were collected after 10 virtual museums were experienced by the participants, who made assessments from an educational perspective. The research data were collected through a structured interview form, the Virtual Museum Evaluation Form (VMEF). The data obtained were analyzed with content analysis. According to the findings of the study, it was determined that using virtual museums in educational environments will benefit students and teachers, but also have some disadvantages. At this point, it can be said that virtual museums can be used in education due to such reasons as ensuring the active participation of students in the lesson, supporting permanent learning, making the lesson fun, etc. while being aware of the disadvantages.

The aim of the study is to reveal the effect of digital comics material on students' academic success, their views on distance education, course and digital comics. In the study conducted during the 2019-2020 academic year and the pandemic, digital comics material was created in the Pixton design program for the aim of the acquisition of "different management styles in terms of basic principles of democracy," in the learning area of active citizenship in the 6th grade Social Studies curriculum. It is known that the comic book, which has no time and place limits, provides easy and fast access to information, prepared within the framework of distance education, provides motivation to individuals and increases interest in the course in accordance with psycho-social development. The study was designed as a mixed method. The quantitative dimension of the research was designed as a single group experimental study and the prepared academic achievement test was applied before and after the study. In the qualitative dimension, phenomenology was applied and the data were collected through audio-recorded interviewing. The quantitative study group of the research consists of 10 students, and the qualitative phase consists of 5 students. The obtained data were analyzed through the statistical program in the quantitative phase and content analysis in the qualitative dimension. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the use of digital comics in distance education increases the success and helps to develop positive behaviors towards the course. Studying abroad is a unique experience including social and cultural practices and affects students' education, life styles, habits and identities. For a better insight about this unique experience, the experiences of students studying abroad need to be analyzed deeply. In this context, this study aims to understand the experiences of eight Turkish graduate students studying in the U.S. The study was designed as a qualitative study and phenomenology was used as a research method. The data of the study was obtained through semi-structured interviews conducted face-to-face by the researcher. All participants finished their undergraduate education in Turkey, and pursue their education in the U.S. with different scholarship and funds. The interviews were recorded with participant consent and the data was analyzed with content analysis technique. The findings reveal educational, social and cultural dimensions of studying abroad experience. The aim of this research is to examine the trends of the studies that address the education-training dimension of creativity in Turkey. The research was conducted using a qualitative research pattern. The data was collected and analyzed through document analysis. In the analysis of the data, the thesis analysis form developed by the researchers was used. One hundred and forty-five graduate theses studied between 2005 and 2019 in the field of education, which were allowed access by their authors, constitute the study group of this research. 114 of these works consist of graduate theses and 31 of them consist of doctoral theses. The graduate theses in the Council of Higher Education database were examined under a total of 10 titles according to their distribution over the years-educational levels, university distributions, institute distributions, branch distributions, methods and sub-methods, data collection tools, sampling/study groups, sampling methods, education level of the study group and thesis titles. As a result of the research, it was observed that although studies addressing the educational-educational dimension of creativity have increased at a certain level over the years, they are not at the desired point and have not been studied adequately. In addition, it was determined that the studies carried out in terms of the discipline, the methods used and the variety of topics studied had similarities, that no studies on creativity were conducted in some departments, that the study group usually consists of a single level of education, that this situation does not allow to look at creativity from a broad perspective, and that there are many aspects of creativity that have not been studied for those who will work in the educational dimension.

The rapidly changing technological developments have affected education as it does every other fields of human endeavor. The number of technology applications used in education increases every day. One of these tools is multimedia. In the studies about the use of multimedia in education, it has been reached that multimedia increases students' success, affects students' attitudes in the positive way and makes lessons more enjoyable and understandable. In this study, multimedia tools were used in social studies to contribute to the field. The study aims to outline the effect of multimedia on the academic success of social studies students. Experimental design was used in the study with two sections (both 4th grade-Section I as the control group and Section II as the experimental group) used as the control and experimental study groups of this study. The sample of the study is 67 social studies 4th grade students in Kayseri, Turkey. For data collection, an achievement test which was generated with experts' opinion and tried as pilot was used. The data from the achievement test was analyzed with SPSS program. At the end of the study, it has been concluded that multimedia technique increased the academic success of students in social studies lesson compared to the traditional classroom.

The article explores the evolving role of teachers in the education sector amidst a social transformation, emphasizing the importance of teachers possessing advanced abilities, including information access, critical thinking, and mastery of Web 2.0 tools. Topics include the significance of equipping teachers with contemporary tools, the creation of age-appropriate materials, and the study's focus on social studies teachers' reflections on the use of comics in education.

Just like it is the reflex of each nation to teach its own history to the next generations, it is essential that our country is also able to identify the sufficiency level of the Turkish history within the framework of developing a programme. Through this study, the parallelism between the social studies teaching programme within the education process and the textbooks and the instructors' views regarding the way the Turkish history subjects are presented and the discussion of solution suggestions about these issues is aimed. Towards this end, the opinions of the instructors of Social Studies have been taken. In the study, questionnaire technique is used, and it has been established that the Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient of the scale is 0,89 (a = 0,89), and the results obtained from the scale have been analysed and interpreted through SPSS 15. The Social Studies teachers make up the universe of the study, and the instructors who teach 6th and 7th grade social studies in some towns of the city of Istanbul comprise the sample of the study, who were chosen by means of random method. According to the results of the study upon the views of the Social Studies teachers, it is realized that the textbooks of the Turkish history subjects and the way they are presented in the education programme and the methods and techniques employed in this issue are insufficient, and that the teachers fail to pay enough attention to benefiting from films, documentaries and various literary products throughout the education-teaching process. In the research, it is emphasized that students are particularly more interested in the history of the Ottoman Empire and the recent history, that the instructors are inadequate in terms of making use of the additional materials in the education-training processes, and that the textbooks fail to provide sufficient suggestions about the use of various teaching strategies in the education-teaching processes. In the textbooks, which are indispensable for the education-teaching processes, the materials that address the learning styles of students are not included sufficiently.

Comics have been used as an alternative tool to improve student learning outcomes during the pandemic, but not yet for junior high school science learning. The study aims to explore the impact of digital comics in online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic on students' cognitive learning outcomes (CLO). A quasi-experimental research design was used in the study. A total of 42 eighth-grade students participated in the current study. They were randomly assigned to two conditions. The first condition was online learning assisted by digital comic media. The second condition was non-comic online learning. A multiple-choice test developed by the researchers was used to measure students' CLO. Although the number of participants is limited, an independent samples t-test was used to analyze the data because the data was normally distributed. The results show that students' CLO differs significantly between comic and non-comic assisted online learning in favor of comic assisted online learning conditions. The possible reasons behind the findings were discussed. As a conclusion, several suggestions for researchers and teachers were offered. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Classroom culture knowledge is essential for researchers and educators as it gives important tips for learning environment and outcomes. Knowing the elements of classroom culture, it is easier to interpret the classroom practice and learning elements. With the rising importance of classroom culture in the last decade, the aim of this study was to explore differences and similarities about cultural elements of two classrooms from different educational levels: K-12, and Graduate. These classrooms were both in the United States of America, Indiana. With a description of the settings, participants, instruments, and procedures, the results are presented in the article signalling the different formations of K-12 and graduate classrooms. The two classrooms shared culture of the same authority; however, K-12 classroom was found to be more libertarian. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
