Background: Artificial Intelligence (AI)-embedded systems offer many benefits, however, also come with fairness issues and risks of discrimination, such as racial bias. A promising approach for ensuring fairness are certifications as a means of (independently) assessing the fairness and non-discrimination of AI-embedded systems. Objective: However, research and practice still struggle with designing and performing fairness certifications. In this study, we clarify how to certify fairness of AI-embedded systems. Methods: We enhance the understanding by performing a literature review on fairness in AI and conducting expert interviews. Results: Our study discusses three key structural building blocks for fairness certifications: fairness criteria to be assessed (certification content), potential issuers and auditors (certification sources), and auditing methods to evaluate fairness (certification process). Conclusion: With this study, we provide a first conceptualization of important building blocks for a fairness certification to highlight its feasibility and usefulness in the domain of AI.

Objective: The study aimed to investigate the Healthy Lifestyle Behavior (HLSB) and perceived health levels in pharmacists, who are important healthcare professionals, and the factors that affected these parameters. Materials and Methods: A two-part questionnaire was applied to 132 pharmacists included in this cross-sectional study. In the first part, a questionnaire consisting of sociodemographic characteristics, factors thought to affect healthy lifestyle behaviors and perceived health-related questions was applied, and in the second part, a questionnaire consisting of the HLPS Scale was applied. Results: Based on the perceived health scale, 73.5% rated their health as good (excellent/very good/good) and 26.5% as bad (moderate/bad). It was determined that HLSB scale score of those who were satisfied with their profession was higher than those who were not, of those who did not smoke was higher than those who did, of those who exercised regularly was higher than those who did not, of those who did not have sleep problems was higher than those who did, and of those who consider themselves healthy was higher than those who did not (p, Amaç: Bu çalışmada, sağlık çalışanları arasında önemli yer tutan eczacıların, sağlıklı yaşam biçimi davranışları (SYBD) ve algılanan sağlık düzeyleri ile bunları etkileyen faktörlerin irdelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Natural resources have been the savior of people at every stage of human history. Mushrooms are very valuable food sources, especially in the rainy seasons. They can be grouped as poisonous, edible or inedible, depending on their nutritional status. These groups have positive or negative effects. Some types of mushrooms have different medicinal properties thanks to their bioactive compounds. It is necessary to characterize their toxicological profiles, especially before using mushroom species for human consumption, as toxic substances are identified even in some edible species. Mycetism, known as mushroom poisoning, is an international health problem. There are those that cause deadly poisoning and limited symptoms of poisoning in mushrooms. Poisonous mushrooms are divided into many classes as cytotoxic, neurotoxic, myotoxic, gastroirritan mushrooms according to their types or symptoms they cause. It is known that mushroom poisoning can cause serious toxicity on the liver, kidneys and central nervous system. However, its effect on heart function has not been determined yet. Zehirli mantarlar türlerine veya neden oldukları semptomlara göre sitotoksik, nörotoksik, miyotoksik, gastroirritan mantarlar olarak birçok sınıfa ayrılır. Mantar zehirlenmesinin karaciğer, böbrekler ve merkezi sinir sistemi üzerinde ciddi toksisiteye neden olabileceği bilinmektedir. Ancak bunun kalp fonksiyonları üzerindeki etkisi henüz belirlenmemiştir. Yapılan bu araştırmada zehirli mantarlar ve görülen kardiyolojik etkileri üzerinde durulmuştur.

Bu çalışma Osmanlı son döneminin ve erken Cumhuriyet döneminin egemen çocuk politikalarını devlet kontrollü çocuk oyunuyla ve batı dünyasının on dokuzuncu yüzyılda öne çıkan erken çocukluk eğitimi stratejisi ile incelemektedir. Bu tezin ana argümanı, genellikle eğlenceli etkinlik olarak adlandırılan ve ciddi olmadığı düşünülen oyunun, geçmişte Osmanlı ve erken Cumhuriyetçi politika oluşturucular tarafından bireyleri disipline etmek ve halkı devlet adına düzenlemek için kullanıldığıdır. Bu şekilde, bu çalışma Osmanlı ve erken Cumhuriyet döneminde devlet otoritesi tarafından çocuk oyunlarının siyasallaştırılması ve kurumsallaşmasına yeni bir pedagojik yaklaşımla odaklanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada ele alınan metodolojik yaklaşım eğitim, biyo-politika ve oyun teorilerine dayanan karma bir teorik çerçevedir. Bu tezdeki araştırma verileri çocuk dergilerinden, birincil ve ikincil kaynaklardan ve resmi tarihi belgelerinden alınmıştır. Bu çalışma, etkili ve bilimsel bir erken çocukluk eğitimi yöntemi olarak yeniden keşfedilen çocuk oyunlarının Osmanlı son dönemi politika oluşturucuları tarafından verimli, yetenekli ve disiplinli bir devlet memuru oluşturmak için, Cumhuriyet yetkilileri tarafından nüfusu düzenlemek ve Batı medeniyetindeki ideal çocuk figürüne ulaşmak için kullanıldığını ortaya koydu. This study examines the dominant childhood policies of the late Ottoman and early Republican Periods through state-controlled children's plays and the prominent early childhood education strategy of the western world in the nineteenth century. The main argument of this thesis is that the play, which is generally referred entertaining activity and considered to be not serious, was used by the Ottoman and early Republican policy makers in the past to discipline individuals and regulate the population on behalf of the state. In this way, this study focuses on the politicization and institutionalization of children's plays as a new pedagogical way by the state authority in the late Ottoman history and the Early Republican era. The methodological approach taken in this study is a mixed theoretical framework based on the theories of education, bio-politics and play. The research data in this thesis were taken from children periodicals, primary and secondary sources and official historical documents. This study revealed that children's plays, reinvented as an effective and scientific early childhood education method, were used by late Ottoman Policymakers to create a productive, talented and disciplined civil servant, by the Republican officials to regulate the population and to reach the ideal robust child figure in Western civilization. In a more general term, children's plays were modern response to the imperial-national crisis. 133

Simetrik anahtarlı şifreleme çalışmalarını geliştirmek için NIST ve IACR tarafından birçok yarışma düzenlenmiştir. Son zamanlarda kimlik denetimini sağlayan şifrelemenin önemi hızlı bir şekilde artmaktadır çünkü bütünlüğün, gizliliğin ve kimlik denetiminin aynı anda sağlanmasına ihtiyaç vardır. Bu tür güvenliğe ihtiyaç duyulmasından dolayı, Ocak 2013'te Erken Simetrik Kripto Çalıştayında CAESAR Yarışması duyurulmuştur. Bu yarışma IACR tarafından yürütülmektedir ve final algoritmalarını bu araştırma grubu seçecektir. Yarışma boyunca her turun sonunda birtakım algoritmalar elenecektir. Sonuç olarak, algoritmaların analizi CAESAR Yarışması için çok önemlidir. Bu amaçla, biz yarışma devam ettiği sürece AEGIS, Ascon, Joltik, MORUS, Pi-Cipher and Tiaoxin adlı algoritmalara istatistiksel rastgelelik testlerini uyguluyoruz. In order to improve symmetric key research several competitions had arranged by organizations like NIST and IACR. In recent years, the importance of authenticated encryption has rapidly increased because of the necessity of simultaneously enabling integrity, confidentiality and authenticity. Since the necessity of this kind of security rises, at January 2013, the CAESAR Competition announced at the Early Symmetric Crypto workshop. This competition is run by the IACR and this research community will select the final portfolio algorithm. During the competition, a number of algorithms is eliminated in each round. Therefore, analysis of algorithms are very important for the CAESAR Competition. For this purpose, while the competition continues, we apply statistical randomness testing for the algorithms such as AEGIS, Ascon, Joltik, MORUS, Pi-Cipher and Tiaoxin. In this thesis, we have focused on the analysis of the algorithms participated in CAESAR Competition using statistical randomness tests and observe that up to how many rounds, those algorithms, behave random according to statistical randomness tests. 72
