It proposes service recovery strategies in case of an out-of-stock service failure situation – that is providing a choice to customers over a compensation item (decisional control) and explaining the cause of the service failure as the effort of the company to reduce food waste (cognitive control). The study has measured the impact of cognitive and decisional control on satisfaction with the service, satisfaction with the recovery, revisit intention, switching intention, WOM-Intention, fairness, service failure attributions and service failure severity. Design and methodology – In order to test the hypotheses, a 2 (decisional control) x 2 (cognitive control) between-subjects design was used. Respondents were assigned randomly one of the four scenarios in an out-of-stock service failure situation in a restaurant and then answered the questionnaire. 202 respondents have participated in this study. Findings – Results show that after an out-of-stock service failure situation, offering compensation with decisional control and explaining the cause of the service failure as the effort of the company to reduce food waste (cognitive control) influence customer reactions positively. Offering only compensation with decisional control has significantly improved outcome variables except service failure attributions and service failure severity. Offering only cognitive control has improved outcome variables significantly except revisit intention and switching intention. Offering both cognitive control and decisional control have significantly increased all of the outcome variables. Practical implications – Food service companies do not have to purchase excessive amount of food for the inventory. In case of out-of-stock service failure situation occurs, cognitive and decisional control as a service recovery strategy could be deployed. With this way, service recovery paradoxical satisfaction could also be achieved and the negative effect of the out-of-stock service failure situation will be mitigated significantly. Originality - This study investigates the out-of-stock service failure situation and the use of cognitive and decisional control as service recovery strategy in the food service sector.

Geleneksel Türk dış politikası çalışmaları, Türkiye'nin Westfalyan ulus devlet düzeninin bir üyesi olduğunu ve dış dünyaya yönelik bir takım siyaseti ve eylemleri olduğunu öne sürer. Bu tez geleneksel literatürü sorunsallaştıran post-yapısalcı bir dış politika çalışmasıdır. Devletlerin verili olmadığı, Türk ulusal kimliğinin ne homojen ne de istikrarlı olduğu, ve Türk dış politikasının kimlik üreten söylemsel bir pratik olduğu tartışılacaktır. As the principal actor in international politics, the state has a distinct character different from the outside. Orthodox Turkish foreign policy studies postulate that Turkey has been the member of the Westphalian nation state order and it has had a set of policies and actions oriented towards the external world. This thesis is a post-structural foreign policy study that problematizes the orthodox literature. It will be argued that the state is not given, the Turkish national identity is neither homogenous nor stable, and Turkish foreign policy is an identity productive discursive practice. The study scrutinizes the annual presidential statements on Gallipoli Campaign in order to demonstrate the way in which Turkish foreign policy discourses produce and reproduce the national identity. The analysis focuses on two different periods. The first period under the scope is between the years of 2001 and 2007 and the second period is between the years of 2015 and 2017. The study argues that the presidential statements on the battle aim to create the Turkish self in each period. Gallipoli Campaign is the source of the other in the present. Thesis (Master)--Izmir Institute of Technology, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Izmir, 2017, Includes bibliographical references (leaves: 43-54), Text in English; Abstract: Turkish and English, Keratitis, ichthyosis, deafness (KID) syndrome is a rare genetic disorder caused by connexin 26 gene mutation that shows quite debilitating and horrific effects on patients. Syndrome itself is complex and 2D culture methods fail to provide complex and close to real conditions to investigate KID syndrome. Our goal is to construct organotypic 3D skin model for the KID syndrome. First of all, stable cell lines expressing wild type and D50Y mutant Cx26 protein were generated. Immunostaining, Western blot and qRT-PCR analysis confirmed Cx26 expression in stable cell lines, meaning these cell lines can be utilized to construct 3D skin model. In order to generate organotypic KID syndrome skin models, commercially available transwell inserts were used. Constructs were prepared by plating fibroblast-collagen mixture in inserts and then plating generated stable cell lines on top of the fibroblast-collagen layer. Then immunostaining was performed on generated skin constructs. Immunostaining of cytokeratin 14 confirmed that 3D model has basal layer of the epidermis. Also, KID skin model with Whatman paper was conducted as an alternative to transwell inserts. Phalloidin staining results showed that generated cell lines formed 3D structures within cellulose fibers. Furthermore; Cx43-Cx26 interaction and cell viability were investigated in stable HaCaT cells. Western blot results showed that increase in Cx26 protein, wild type or mutant, caused an increase in Cx43 levels. According to MTT assay, increase of wild type or D50Y mutant Cx26 did not change cell viability. Overall with these findings, provides a new point of view for KID syndrome mechanism and treatment., Keratitis, iktiyoz, sağırlık (KID) sendromu, connexin 26 gen mutasyonunun neden olduğu nadir bir genetik bozukluk olup, hastalarda oldukça zayıflatıcı ve korkunç etkiler gösterir. Sendromun kendisi karmaşıktır ve 2D kültür yöntemleri KID sendromunu araştırmak için karmaşık ve gerçek koşullara yakın olmamaktadır. Amacımız KID sendromu için organotipik 3D epidermis modeli oluşturmaktır. Her şeyden önce, yabani tip ve D50Y mutant Cx26 proteini ifade eden HaCaT kararlı hücre hatları üretildi. Yaptığımız immüno boyama, Western ve qRT-PCR sonuçları, bu hücre hatlarının KID cilt modeli oluşturmak için kullanılabileceği anlamına gelen Cx26 ifadesini doğrulamıştır. Organotipik KID sendromu cilt modeli yapımında ticari olarak temin edilebilen transweller kullanılmıştır. Model yapımı için önce fibroblast-kollajen karışımının transwellere koyuldu ve ardından oluşturulan hücre hatları karışımın üzerine aktarıldı. Sonra imuno boyama, üretilen cilt yapıları üzerinde gerçekleştirildi. Cytokeratin 14 boyama sonuçları, 3D modelin bazal tabaka epidermisine sahip olduğunu teyit etti. Ayrıca, KID cilt modeli, whatman kağıdı ile transwell yapısına bir alternatif olarak denendi. Phalloidin boyama sonuçları, üretilen hücre hatlarının selüloz lifleri yardımıyla 3D yapılar oluşturduğunu gösterdi. Ayrıca, Cx43-Cx26 etkileşimi ve hücre canlılığı araştırıldı. Western blot sonuçları, Cx26 protein yabani türünün veya mutantının artışının Cx43 seviyelerinde artışa neden olduğunu gösterdi. MTT analizlerine göre, vahşi tipli veya D50Y mutant Cx26'nın artışı hücre yaşayabilirliğini değiştirmedi. Günümüzde bilgisayarlar ve mimari görselleştirme yazılımları mimarlara el çizimlerine nazaran fikirlerini daha hızlı ve verimli yansıtabilme olanakları vermektedir. Bu tezin amacı; batı Anadoludaki Afrodisias antik şehrinin ve kentin kutsal imparatorlara adanan tapınağı Sebasteion'unun bilgisayar ortamında yeniden ayağa kaldırılmasıdır. Calışmanın ana hedefi, sanal ortamda günlük mimarlük yazılımlarının kullanılmasıyla yapılan bu çizimlerin ve görsel iletişim araçlarının mimarlık tarihine etkilerinin tartışılmasıdır. Ayrıca, bu çalışma sadece mevcut olan verilerin yorumunun beraberinde eksik olan verilerin de yapının anlamını kavramada nasıl etkli olduğunu irdeler. This thesis is an attempt to make digital reconstructions to provide the visual experiences of the ancient city Aphrodisias in western Asia Minor and its temple dedicated to divine emperors known as the Sebasteion of Aphrodisias. Its aim is to show that by using common architectural softwares one can overcome the possible problems of graphic representations in the history of architecture. Moreover, this study focuses not only on the interpretations of the data at hand but also demonstrates how the missing information defines and shapes the digital models in order to convey the meaning of the buildings. 136

Bu çalışmada, katıhal tepkime yöntemiyle hazırlanan Bi1,8Pb0,35Sr1,9Ca2,1Cu3Oysüperiletken numunelerinin bir yüzeyine altın buharlaştırılarak 830°C' de 10, 20 ve50 saat' lik tavlama sonucu ince altın tabakasının numuneye difüze olması sağlandı.Bu işlemden sonra, difüzyon yolu ile numuneye altın katkılamanın ve difüzyon ısılişlem süresinin numunelerin süperiletkenlik, yapısal ve mekanik özellikleriüzerindeki etkileri incelendi. Karşılaştırma yapmak için aynı şartlarda katkısıznumune de hazırlandı. Elektrik, manyetik ve süperiletkenlik özelliklerini belirlemekiçin DC özdirenç, kritik akım yoğunluğu ve AC alınganlık ölçümleri yapıldı.Mekanik özelliklerini belirlemek için ise mikrosertlik ölçümleri yapıldı.Numunelerin mekanik özellikleri difüzyon ısıl işlen süresine ve yüke bağlı olarakbelirlendi. Faz analizi ve örgü parametrelerinin belirlenmesi için X-ışınları kırınımıincelemesi, mikroyapı incelemeleri için ise SEM ölçümleri yapıldı. Bu ölçümlersonucunda altın katkılanmış numune ile ve katkısız numune karşılaştırdığında, c örgüparametresinin, kritik akım yoğunluğunun, kritik dönüşüm sıcaklığının arttığı vetaneciklerin büyüdüğü gözlendi. Ayrıca mekanik özellikler ve Bi-2223 fazındaiyileşmeler belirlendi. Difüzyon ısıl işlem süresi azaldıkça, numune yüzeyindekiboşlukların sayısı ve büyüklüğü artmış, c örgü parametresi, kritik dönüşüm sıcaklığıve kritik akım yoğunluğu azalmıştır. Bunlara ek olarak altının difüzyon katsayısı veaktivasyon enerjisi hesaplandı. Bu sebeple 500, 600, 700, 750, 800 °C de 10 saatsüreyle difüzyon-tavlaması yapılarak katkısız numune üzerine buharlaştırılan incealtın tabakasının numuneye difüze olması sağlandı. Yüksek sıcaklıksüperiletkenlerde difüzyon parametrelerinin belirlenmesinde birkaç metot vardır.Bunlardan en yaygın olanları şunlardır: Numunenin özdirencini ölçerek, numunelerinXRD verilerinden örgü parametrelerini hesaplayarak, X-ray Fluorescence tekniği veradio-tracer yöntemidir. Bu çalışmada yukarıda bahsedilen ilk iki yöntem kullanıldı.500-800°C arasında üretilen altın katkılanmış Bi-2223 numunelerinin difüzyon ısılişlem sıcaklığına bağlı difüzyon katsayısını hesaplamak için D=D0 exp(-Ea/kBT)bağıntısı kullanıldı ve altının aktivasyon enerjisi (Ea), 1,08 eV olarak hesaplandı. In this study, we have investigated the effect of the gold diffusion-doping anddiffusion-annealing duration on structural, superconducting and mechanicalproperties of the Bi1.8Pb0.35Sr1.9Ca2.1Cu3Oy superconductors annealed 830°C for 10,20, 50 hours. The samples were prepared by the conventional solid-state reactionmethod in the polycrystalline bulk form. Doping of Bi-2223 was carried out bymeans of Au diffusion during sintering from an evaporated Au films on pellets. Theexperimental works in this study consist of DC electrical resistivity, critical currentdensity and AC susceptibility measurements for electrical, magnetic andsuperconducting properties, microhardness measurements for mechanical properties(such as Vickers microhardness, Young?s modulus, fracture toughness and yieldstrength). The mechanical properties of the samples were found to be diffusionannealing time and load dependent. Powder X-ray diffraction for phase analyses andlattice parameters, and SEM for microstructure examinations were carried out. Thesemeasurements showed that Au doping, in comparison with the undoped samples,increased the lattice parameter c, grain size, critical current density, and criticaltransition temperature, improved the mechanical properties and enhanced formationof Bi-2223 phase. Moreover, as the diffusion-annealing time decreased the numberand size of voids increased, transition temperature, critical current density, latticeparameter c decreased. Additionally, we have calculated the activation energies anddiffusion coefficients of Au in BSCCO. For this reason, the undoped samples werecoated with an Au layer and diffusion annealing was carried out 500, 600, 700, 750and 800°C for 10 hours. There are several methods to estimate the diffusionparameter in polycrystalline high-Tc superconductors. The most common fourmethods are: successive removal of thin layers and (1) the measurement of thesample?s resistivity, (2) the measurements of lattice parameters from XRD patterns,(3) the energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence, and (4) the radio-tracer methods. In thisstudy, we used first two techniques to calculate the diffusion coefficient of Au inBi(Pb)-Sr-Ca-Cu-O system. The temperature dependence of the Au diffusioncoefficients in the range of 500-800°C was described by the relationD = D0 exp(-Ea/kBT). It was obtained that for diffusion of Au atoms in Bi-2223 in thetemperature range 500-800°C, the coefficients of diffusion increases, thecorresponding activation energy being 1.08 eV. Diffusion at lower annealingtemperatures is much less significant. En üstteki, tabakaları yukarıya doğruincelen kumtaşı, miltaşı, şeyi ve marn ardalanması ise yakınsak ve ıraksak klasik türbidit çökelleridir. Yapılan paleontoloji çalışmaları Çağlayan Formasyonu' nun çalışma alanındaki yaşının Orta Berriasiyen-Geç Apsiyen olduğunu ve karbonat platformunun muhtemelen Orta Berriasiyen zamanlarında veya hemen sonrasında kırıldığını göstermiştir. Yapılan petrografik incelemeler kumtaşlannda çakıl boyutunun ve yuvarlak laşmanın çok değişken, boylanmanın kötü-orta, mineralojik bileşiminin genellikle subarkoz ve dokusunun ise yan olgun olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Kumtaşlanndaki ilksel gözeneklilik çoğunlukla kalsit çimentosu, nadiren de kil matriksi ile doldurul muştur. Çalışılan kuyularda yapılan petrofizik analizler sonucu, bileşenleri İnaltı Formasyonundan türemiş konglomeralarda gözenekliliğin % 0 ile % 8.4 arasında değiştiği ve bunların zayıf hazne kaya özelliğinde olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Bunun yanısıra kumtaşlannda gözeneklilik % 0 ile % 13.9 arasında olup, bu seviyeler yer yer orta kalitede hazne kayaç özelliği göstermektedir. Yüzeyden alınan kumtaşı örneklerine uygulanan Doyurma- Yüzdürme metodu ile bu kumtaşlannda mutlak gözenekliliğin % 0 ile % 13.4 arasında değiştiği ve hazne kayaç kalitesinin bazı seviyelerde orta düzeyde olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Çalışma alanının batısına doğru kalınlaşan ve mutlak gözenekliliği yüksek olan tane akması çökellerinin en uygun rezervuar kayaç olduğu saptanmıştır. Sami DERMAN June 1996, 97 pages The Sinop Basin, with over ten thousand meters thick sedimentary sequence and structural characteristics, provide suitable conditions for hydrocarbon generation and accumulation. The Çağlayan Formation, displaying reservoir rock potential, was analyzed through subsurface data obtained from the Ekinveren-1, Boyabat-3 and Boyabat-4 wells together with field studies of the outcrops. The Çağlayan Formation, characterized by sandstone, shale, marl alternations with some debrites and olistoliths, was deposited in a retrogradational submarine fan setting within a basin that was formed by the rupture of the İnaltı carbonate platform. Carbonate breccias formed at the bottom of the formation as debris flow deposits (debrites) in the channels of the upper fan. They are succeeded by coarse grained and mthickly bedded sandstones, considered to be grain flow deposits formed in the channels of the mid-fan. The overlying sandstone, siltstone, shale and marl intercalations, which display a thinning upward sequence, are proximal to distal classical turbidites. Based on paleontological analyses, the age of the Çağlayan Formation is Middle Berriasian to Latest Aptian in the study area and the rupture of the carbonate platform took place most probably at or just after the Middle Berriasian times. Microscopically, most of the sandstones are subarkose in mineralogical composition with variable grain size and poor to moderate sorting. They are texturally submature and generally well cemented. The primary porosity was occluded mostly by calcite cement and rarely by clayey matrix. According to petrophysical analyses throughout the studied wells, porosities of conglomerates, whose clasts were derived from the İnaltı Formation, range from 0 % to 8.4 %, showing that they are poor as reservoir rock. The sandstone levels, on the other hand, have negligible to fair reservoir rock quality with porosities between 0 % and 13.9 %. Based on the `Saturation-Buoyancy Technique` applied to the sandstone outcrop samples, effective porosity values change from 0 % to 13.4 %, indicating negligible to fair reservoir quality. It was found that the rocks of the grain flow deposits, which become thicker towards the west of the study area and provide higher effective porosity values, were the most probable reservoir rocks.
