Abstract

The article features the research conducted on the chemical composition and therapeutic significance of the Rosa damascena in Iran. It is considered the queen of fragrant flowers comprising of about 150 species of deciduous and semi-evergreen shrubs and climbers. When researchers did a chemical analysis on the plant, they found that it contains various chemicals, including citronellol, nerol, geranio and linalool. It has myriads of uses ranging from rituals, perfumes, medicines and aromatherapy.
