The first section of this article provides a brief history of Comparative and International Education (CIE), the official journal of the Comparative and International Education Society of Canada, over its almost 50-year history. The second section outlines general characteristics of the journal, including the role of the editors and editorial board, the bilingual nature of the journal, special issues, and book reviews. The article reviews the current general operations associated with the journal, providing details about financial aspects and changes in the production and dissemination processes as it moved from a print to an online format in 2012. Finally, the article recaps some challenges the journal has had and currently faces, as well as aspirations for the future. It demonstrates the resilience of the journal to adapt and notes the commitment of its champions, who have kept it going through challenging times. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Journal of Strategic Information Systems (JSIS) was first published December 1991 by Robert (Bob) D. Galliers, its Founding Editor-in-Chief (EiC). Early on Bob invited me to join the JSIS International Editorial Board 1 1 While I had only recently completed my PhD, I had come to academe from practice, having been a Senior Consultant with Woods Gordon (Ernst & Young) in Canada, then Price Waterhouse Urwick in Sydney, Australia. I was also privileged to receive the 1st ICIS SIGMIS Doctoral Dissertation Award 1992, which may have influenced Bob's invitation. Coincidentally, Yolande won the award the next year in 1993 (jointly with Lawrence Loh) https://ishistory.aisnet.org/awards/acmsigmis/. (the Board then being more operational, with members serving as quasi-AEs, an arrangement we've reinstituted more recently). I became Pacific Asia Region Editor in 2003, with JSIS shifting from region editors to Senior Editors in 2007, in which role I served the journal through the end of 2018. Mid-2018 Bob and Sirkka (Sirkka Jarvenpaa joined as co-EiC in 2000) jointly decided it was time; and announced they would both step down from their co-EiC roles at the end of that year. In September 2018, I was endorsed by Bob and Sirkka, the Senior Editors and Elsevier, to succeed Bob and Sirkka and assume the role of Editor-in-Chief of JSIS commencing 1 January 2019. I served as Editor-in-Chief through 1 July 2021 after which Yolande Chan and I served as co-Editors-in-Chief. Now the end of 2022, I am stepping down from operational involvement with the journal. In this my final editorial I focus on my time as EiC, also reflecting on my almost 3 decades with the journal. I much appreciate being invited to write these brief ruminations and am honoured to be included amongst the journal's Emeritus, along with the esteemed Robert Galliers and Sirkka Jarvenpaa. In this article, we review the publications served by theCanadian Journal of Science, Mathematics and Technology Educationin the past 15 years, specific to the field of mathematics education, and make connections with development of the field. In particular, we adopt current Editor-in-Chief John Wallace's (2009) approach of “looking back, looking forward,” to reflect on the journal's development both qualitatively, by recapping significant moments of the journal and highlighting recurrent themes, and quantitatively, by reviewing the number of contributions in terms of country, language, and genre.
