The article examines how a group of staff from the Central Coast Health Library Services in Australia followed the five steps of evidence-based library and information practice (EBLIP) within a typical area of library activity. First, they recognize the need to develop a climate for EBLIP. EBLIP involves the integration of evidence from research studies with reports from library users and the observations of library staff. Evaluation of the rigor and relevance of the evidence, typically employing checklists as tools for a consistent approach across studies, is also applied in the process.
