This study presents a conceptual model of mediation effects that Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) has on relationship between Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and organizational performance. Empirical evidence suggests a very limited scope of ERM relation to performance, but full mediation effect of EO dimension innovation and proactivity is confirmed on relation between ERM strategic factor and new product development. Our research contributes scientifically because it is the first research that explores how ERM and EO interwind in companies. From the practical point of view, our results may be valuable to managers aiming to increase company's resilience by introducing innovation or are in the process of encouraging a more proactive behaviour. According to our findings, they may benefit from establishment of a sound ERM strategic framework prior to entering innovation or proactivity process, in terms of new product development. Objective: The objective of the article is to investigate the status and evolution of women's entrepreneurial orientation (WEO) research from 1990 to 2021 through a systematic literature review. Research Design & Methods: We examined 204 peer-reviewed scholarly articles to identify and analyse study themes, publication trends, journal outlets, research methods, country, and regional distributions, and the theoretical landscape of WEO research through a mixed methodology of descriptive and content analyses. Findings: Our analysis showed the following key findings: (1) publication trends show a constant growth of interest in WEO research, particularly in the last decade (2011-2021), with most of the articles published in high-ranked journals outlets; (2) quantitative research dominates the field above qualitative studies and conceptual models; (3) study themes are multidimensional, embodying a wide range of topics (4) research is generally US-centric regarding the individual countries, and in terms of the regional distribution, studies are Australasia and Europe centric; and, finally (5) studies mainly employ the theory of entrepreneurship and theory of planned behaviour in the theory-driven studies. Implications & Recommendations: The results imply that WEO research is growing in interest in both theory and practice, thereby demanding the attention of women entrepreneurship researchers. Contribution & Value Added: This study contributes to the literature by reviewing and discussing the body of WEO literature. It provides a comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon. The findings of this study can benefit researchers in understanding the status and evolution of WEO. It can also assist policymakers and governments in developing suitable policies and initiatives. Improvement in social media (SM) platforms and their ability to enable small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to reach a large audience has led to changes in how entrepreneurial firms carry out their regular activities. Studies on entrepreneurship and SM adoption are relatively new and fragmented; however, there is scant interest from managers, scholars, and governments for future research work in this area in emerging countries. This study aims to investigate the role of SM adoption and innovation capabilities (IC) in improving SME performance. We employ the resource-based view (RBV) as a basis for the conceptual model and infer relationships between entrepreneurial orientation (EO), SM adoption, IC, and SME performance. A closed-ended questionnaire was administered to collect data through a web-based survey and quantitative analysis was employed to generalise the results. The proposed relationships are tested on a sample of 431 randomly selected SMEs, applying the PLS algorithm, bootstrapping, and blindfolding techniques using SmartPLS 3.0. The findings reveal that SME performance could be improved by EO, SM adoption, and IC. Additionally, SM adoption significantly mediates the EO–SME-performance relationship, and IC moderates the SM-adoption–SME-performance association. Understanding the context and the antecedents of the entrepreneurship of minorities have attracted the interest of researchers in recent years, even though few studies have focused on the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transvestite, Transsexual or Transgender (LGBT) minorities. In keeping with this shortcoming, the objectives of this study involve identifying the context and the antecedents of the entrepreneurial orientation (EO) of LGBT minority entrepreneurs through a qualitative study deploying semi‐structured interviews with six Brazilian entrepreneurs belonging to this minority community. A qualitative methodology was carried out based on the content analysis of interviews and its relationship with the theoretical framework. Based on the framework of theories on marginalization and individual entrepreneurial orientation (IEO), the results demonstrate that in most cases, this type of LGBT entrepreneur experiences discrimination in socio‐normative working environments, which may directly or indirectly shape their interests in entrepreneurship. The results also reflect how entrepreneurship becomes interconnected with a feeling of liberation felt by these individuals in openly declaring their sexuality and fostering the confidence capable of motivating them for entrepreneurship. This study furthermore identifies how the pursuit of success in this minority needs to apply a broader perspective than simply status or financial goals while also contributing with a proposed conceptual model and suggestions for future research studies. This study pursues to build the conceptual model of entrepreneurial success (ES) that discusses the concept and phenomenon of ES and its perquisites and outcomes. This proposed mode anticipated that factors technological knowledge (TK), entrepreneurial orientation (EO), and psychological knowledge influence ES. This paper explains previous literature on perquisites, the phenomenon of TK, EO and psychological knowledge, and ES. This conceptual paper targets the scholarly works that provide support for the proposed model. A significant contribution of this paper is to propose an original relationship between prerequisites, phenomena, and consequences in ES. The proposed model shows a novel conceptualization of how these constructs may be connected to affect ES outcomes. This study enhances the literature by providing the theoretical literature of forerunners and outcomes for ES. In addition, this study has important implications for practitioners and entrepreneurs to generate success in entrepreneurial activities. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to unpack the underlying mechanisms of entrepreneurs' passion, orientation and behavior by investigating the role of rational and nonrational cognitive elements. Building on dual process theory and sociointuitionism, a conceptual model is proposed in order to explore the relationship between entrepreneurial passion, entrepreneurial orientation (EO) and strategic entrepreneurship behavior (SEB). Specifically, entrepreneurs' linear thinking styles (System 2) and nonlinear thinking styles (System 1) are hypothesized as being significant moderators of such a relationship. Design/methodology/approach: Covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM) is used to empirically validate the proposed conceptual model and test the moderating hypotheses on a sample of 300 entrepreneurs actively involved in European small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Findings: Entrepreneurial passion is shown to be a significant antecedent of EO, which, in turn, strongly influences SEB. Moreover, entrepreneurs' linear thinking style positively moderates the EO-SEB relationship, but not the link between passion and EO. Instead, a nonlinear thinking style positively moderates the relationship between passion and EO, but not the links between EO and SEB. Practical implications: Entrepreneurs should trust their nonlinear thinking style – related to affective/emotive and intuitive information processing systems – to foster the effect of their entrepreneurial passion on EO. Furthermore, entrepreneurs should rely on a linear thinking style, namely the rational and deliberative cognitive processes, to enhance the impact of their EO on SEB. Originality/value: Dual process theory and sociointuitionism are integrated to simultaneously investigate the effect of nonrational and rational cognitive mechanisms on entrepreneurs' orientation and behavior. Moreover, the proposed model is empirically tested on a sample of entrepreneurs working in SMEs located in Europe, which have received little attention from entrepreneurship scholars in comparison to their US counterparts. Purpose: In today's technology-led volatile business environment all established businesses are trembling and retailing is no exception. Exploration of the entrepreneurial side of retailers will expose the essential attitudes to survive in the new world order. The present study is an endeavor towards this end. Design/methodology/approach: In this descriptive research, a pre-tested entrepreneurial orientation questionnaire constructed by De Nobrega (2012) was adopted, and it was fine-tuned to suit for the retail environment. Initially, an exploratory study was organized, and it was followed by confirmatory factor analysis. Data collected were analyzed with SPSS 23.0, and the conceptual model was validated in AMOS 23.0. Findings: The study evinces that the retailer's entrepreneurial orientation is induced by five factors, namely, autonomy, risk-taking, innovation, competitive aggressiveness and pro-activeness. The study exposes the five dimensions and their ascendancy on business performance. Research limitations/implications: The study is operationalized in a small sample, confined to two types of trade, limited to small and medium retailers in Chennai and all the constructs are measured with the help of perceptual self-reporting scales. Practical implications: The study highlights that the art of spearheading retail business performance lies in attitude orientation. This work will propel retailers and trade bodies to nurture the entrepreneurial orientation. Social implications: The study emphasizes that boosting entrepreneurial mindset of retailers will enable them to achieve business progress and protects the grass root sector of the society. Open innovation is a young arena in research that is fascinating the attention of a growing number of scholars. However, there are not enough studies that investigate open innovation performance. The pharmaceutical industry with the most Research and Development (R&D) intensity has been targeted by this new paradigm. This study explores the effect of entrepreneurial orientation on open innovation performance, considering the mediating role of desorptive capacity, which is defined as the firm's capability to recognize outward technology transfer opportunities and to facilitate it. We use structural equation modeling to examine the hypotheses on a dataset from 100 Iranian pharmaceutical manufacturers in 2018. The results of the study support our conceptual model. Our findings indicate that a firm's entrepreneurial orientation and desorptive capacity have a positive effect on its open innovation performance. Moreover, desorptive capacity has a mediating effect in the relation of entrepreneurial orientation and open innovation performance. Purpose: Environmental turbulence represents a double-edged sword, simultaneously fueling and hindering a firm's entrepreneurial orientation (EO). Drawing on the theories of EO and network relationships, this study aims to develop and test a conceptual model that provides a nuanced account of the relationship between environmental turbulence and firm EO. Design/methodology/approach: Data for this study were collected using a survey of high-technology firms in Hsinchu Science Park (HSP) in Taiwan. Questionnaires were mailed to 297 high-technology firms in the semiconductor, photoelectric and communication industries within HSP. Completed questionnaires were received from 94 firms, which included responses from 94 research and development managers and 462 employees. Findings: The results reveal that the degree of environmental turbulence exhibits an inverted U-shaped relationship with a firm's EO. Moreover, this relationship is positively moderated by network relationships between firms, but negatively moderated by organizational inertia. Originality/value: The empirical and conceptual findings have important implications for understanding EO, because the findings explain causal relationships that transform a firm's interactive and inner control capabilities into firm-level results. The main objective of the paper is to explore the relationships between innovation, entrepreneurial orientation (EO), organizational culture (OC), strategic orientation (SO) and firm performance (FP). Based on the literature review, a conceptual model has been developed of the relationships between variables. This study was greatly motivated by the inconsistent findings and the gaps indicated in the contemporary literature regarding those relationships that have not been developed together within the context of developing countries. This study adopted the resource-based view and contingency theory as an underpinning theory for its assumptions and to develop the theoretical model for this study. In this paper, we shed light on the entrepreneurial university in Tunisia through a quantitative survey of 532 heads of Tunisian universities to explore, identify and understand the factors that help a Tunisian university to become an entrepreneurial one. Our results showed that to become entrepreneurial, the university should adopt an entrepreneurial orientation, in other words, it should be innovative, autonomous, proactive, risk taker and competitive. The development of entrepreneurship theory states that entrepreneurship as a mindset. Some other literature has even linked strategy management with entrepreneurship into an inseparable construct. One of the equations contained that entrepreneurship related to produce wealth, while strategic management related to the create competitive advantage which ultimately plays an important role in wealth creation. With similarities, talking about entrepreneurial mindset certainly cannot be separated from the strategic mindset itself. Generally, strategic mindset here can be classify into two orientation, artist and scientist. The optimal distinctiveness perspective argues that firms face competing pressures to be both 'like' and 'different from' their peers. On the one hand, institutional scholars assert that firms need to be similar to peers in order to gain legitimacy. On the other hand, strategy scholars insist that firms need to strive to be different to gain competitive advantage. In order to enrich the optimal distinctiveness perspective, the present study builds a conceptual model that addresses the relationships among organisational regulatory legitimacy, entrepreneurial orientation, and SME innovation under the context of China's transition economy. Our empirical results show that organisational regulatory legitimacy has an inverted-U relationship with SME innovation. Further, entrepreneurial orientation strengthens this inverse-U shaped relationship. That is, entrepreneurial orientation magnifies both the positive and the negative effect of organisational regulatory legitimacy on SME innovation. This study echoes to the call to conduct broader optimal distinctiveness research by integrating institutional theory and strategic management. The purpose of this research is to develop a conceptual model dealing the relationship between EO and sales growth performance by proposing the Pareto sales network asset as a reliable bridge for mediating EO and sales growth performance in SMEs in Indonesia. Lending the network theory and the Pareto concept, we propose a concept on The Pareto sales network asset as a strategic asset for enhancing sales growth performance. The main finding of this study is that an entrepreneurial oriented firm who success in accessing the Pareto sales network which by nature is outside of the firm will get the networked power. Having, maintaining and using the networked power getting from a Pareto sales network asset will be a key asset for enhancing sales growth performance. It discusses the literature of technological innovations and the different models of technological adoption. It focuses on the entrepreneurial and learning orientation as well as the antecedent factors in adopting an e-book device. It justifies the use of social cognitive theory and the research methodology used in the study.
