Prosthodontics practice involves contact with restorative materials, auxiliary dental materials which are broadly of different composition. The leakage and transfer of the potent allergic components from these materials is the cause of hypersensitive reactions to patients, dental professionals and the lab technicians. The biological side-effects of the materials that are in dental practice are rare. All artificial materials release substances in the oral environment which are potent allergens that might cause side effects and adverse reactions. The current study gives a statically about the dental professional knowledge and also makes the aware of toxic biological side effects of these materials, also make them aware of the reporting of the cases. A cross sectional survey was conducted among 100 dental professionals about the Toxic Biological effects associated with materials used in prosthodontics. Questionnaires with 20 close ended questions were circulated among people. Results obtained analyzed using SPSS software. In this Study, almost 80% of them were aware that some components of the dental materials might cause a hypersensitivity reaction. 57% of the participants have not experienced any allergic resin, latex, gloves etc. The prevalence of allergic reaction among Dental staff is low and most reported are due to latex, acrylate & formaldehyde. Aim: This study aims to evaluate and create awareness of the general public on the side effects of vaccination. Objective: The objective of the study was to assess the awareness levels of general public on importance and side effects of vaccination to improve the standard of health care. Materials and Methods: The present study was conducted in Chennai among randomly selected people using a questionnaire. The question was related to knowledge and awareness of vaccination and its side effects. A total of 20 close-ended questions were included in the study. The results were being analyzed using statistical software. Results: The obtained results shows that 55% are aware of the benefits of vacciation and 85% of respondants have experienced the side effects like pain, fever, swelling, redness and headaches. Conclusion: On analyzing the results obtained from the present study, it is clear that people are fairly aware and has a knowledge about vaccination and about its benefits as well as side effects. Introduction: The word probiotics have been given a number of different definitions over the years, with the current definition being "live microorganisms which when administered in adequate amounts confer a medical advantage on the host." Most probiotic products contain bacteria from the genera Lactobacillus or Bifidobacterium, although other genera, including Escherichia, Enterococcus, Bacillus, Propionibacterium, and Saccharomyces (a yeast), have been developed as probiotics. Materials and Methods: A questionnaire was prepared with 15 questions. It was circulated to the patients and attenders visiting dental operatory of Saveetha Dental College. The survey was conducted among various age groups not <16 years of age. The questions are framed based on their knowledge and perception toward probiotics. Results: About 76% were aware of probiotics and its uses and effects, in which 90.5% were aware that food they consume contains probiotics. Moreover, 85.2% of the population identified that probiotic is a constituent of living microorganisms. Different sources of probiotics were consumed, of which majority was yogurt (32.4%), milk (27%), apple (12.2%), cucumber (10.8%), soup (9.5%), and brown rice (8.1%). Probiotics are used as therapeutic drug for mostly gastrointestinal condition (63%). Conclusion: Most of them knew the beneficial effects of probiotics to human body in terms of food digestion and immunity. Furthermore, in general, they were aware that dairy products were food source of probiotics. Aim: The aim of this study was to create awareness of menstrual disturbances among women working night shifts in information technology (IT). Introduction: Menstruation involves complex interactions of inflammation and vascular mechanisms to stabilize the endometrium and allows a regulated loss of endometrial tissues and blood. When this becomes abnormal, it can cause menstrual disturbances. Materials and Methods: The present study was conducted among randomly selected women working night shifts in IT using a questionnaire. The questions were related to knowledge and awareness of menstrual disturbances. A total of 20 closed-ended questions were included in the study. Results and Discussion: A percentage of 59 agree to the fact that night shifts can affect their menstrual cycle. About 52.5% consider painful periods as the main indication of a menstrual disturbance, whereas 29% think that irregular periods are what menstrual disturbances are. Moreover, the remaining 18.5% consider both as consequences of menstrual disturbances. Conclusion: The women who participated in the survey are only slightly aware of how working night shifts can affect their menstrual cycle. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
