Military training areas (MTAs) are special environments with specific anthropogenic activities. The aims of this review are (1) to understand the interactions between military training activities and biodiversity, (2) to quantify the available scientific literature on this subject, (3) and to highlight the origin of the studies. Queries were carried out on two literature databases: Scopus and Wiley. The queries returned a large number of papers, but few actually matched the research topics. These two databases contain nearly 400 articles that discuss the interactions between military training and biodiversity at different scales. These articles come from all over the world, but the majority were conducted in the United States. In Europe, the studies are mainly conducted on German, English, and Czech sites. Impacts on biodiversity from all types of military training and from restricted areas were studied. The impacts on these areas are multiple and affect the landscape, the soil, fauna, and flora. They can be directly or indirectly related to military activities. Responses to disturbance by military trainings can be complex as they are variable. Thus, the same training may result in positive, neutral, or negative impacts depending on the habitats or taxa targeted and the country studied. Training methods are constantly evolving and vary between countries, and it appears important to maintain research about conservation in those particular areas, which paradoxically represent opportunities for nature conservation. La tarea del traductor comprende ciertos aspectos que, si bien no corresponden al ámbito de la traducción propiamente dicha, se relacionan de manera sustantiva con ella. Entre estas tareas figura la investigación bibliográfica, destinada a localizar las fuentes primarias y a corregir los (a veces numerosos) errores que inevitablemente contiene cualquier texto. El traductor confiere así a su trabajo una importante plusvalía, que marca una diferencia decisiva entre su traducción y la de otros traductores que conciben esta operación como la simple búsqueda de equivalencias lingüísticas. Para ilustrar esta afirmación, analizaremos la traducción de una obra de arqueología y otra de sociología, a fin de demostrar que todo traductor puede convertirse en un investigador que se da a la apasionantetarea de descubrir las mil y una realidades inesperadas que se ocultan detrás de las palabras. The task of a translator comprises certain aspects that are related to it in a substantial way, though not properly corresponding to the field of translation. Among these aspects bibliographical research is found to set up the primary sources and to correct the (many times numerous) errors, which unavoidably exist in any text. Thus, a significant value gain is conferred to the translator’s work, providing a decisive contrast with other translators who conceive translation as the mere search of linguistic equivalents. In order to illustrate this assertion, let us analyze two translations, a work on archeology and another one on sociology, to demonstrate that every translator can become a researcher devoted to the passionate task of discovering the numerous unexpected realities hidden behind words.

Esse trabalho tem por objetivo apresentar um panorama das pesquisas sobre Tecnologias Digitais de Informação e Comunicação (TDIC) e formação de professores de língua inglesa desenvolvidas no âmbito da Linguística Aplicada no Brasil entre os anos de 2000 a 2009. A fim de atingir o objetivo, foi realizada uma busca bibliográfica no banco de teses e dissertações da CAPES a partir de termos chaves no campo assunto. Como resultados, apontamos uma ampla variedade de estudos que se voltam para tal área evidenciando diferentes focos: na transposição de políticas públicas, no uso de ferramentas digitais para formação (inicial e continuada) de professores, na apropriação de ferramentas digitais pelo professor na sua prática pedagógica, nas crenças e representações construídas a partir do uso de ferramentas tecnológicas, dentre outros. Esperamos contribuir para um mapeamento da literatura já desenvolvida na área de formação de professores de língua inglesa e TDIC para a realização de futuras pesquisas.This paper aims at presenting an overview of the researches about Digital Information and Communication Technologies (DICT) and English teacher education carried in Applied Linguistics in Brazil from 2000 to 2009. In order to do so, a bibliographical search was carried out at the CAPES database of theses and dissertations according to some key words related to this subject. The results point out a number of varied studies developed in this field with different focus such as: public policies and its implementation, use of digital tools in pre and in service teacher education, appropriation of digital tools by teachers into their work, believes and representations concerning the use of digital tools, among others. We hope to contribute to those who further wish to develop more studies under the theme English teacher education and DICT.

This article proposes a three-stage method, with the use of multiple rankings as a starting point in the first stage to help carry out bibliographical research in a more effective and systematic fashion. The relevance of this method is made evident by way of a pioneer empirical investigation on the use and importance of scientificjournal rankings as perceived by Brazilian professors in the practice of bibliographical research in the field of Business Administration. The results suggest that, although there is an awareness of the importance of ranking as a criterion for bibliographical research, with a view to identifying the state of the art and relevant research gaps, ranking is in fact hardly used on a regular basis. It is believed that the proposed method can help overcome this problem and contribute to more effective literature reviews and research.

The internet is an important tool for obtaining information. It offers vast amounts of information ranging from basic to advanced, from general to specific. Nevertheless, its quality cannot be classified or graded. Furthermore, some technical and/or specific information may not be available for free. This work primarily shows the great utility of the internet for getting suitable information in Chemistry and emphasizes open access and quality sites in Chemistry. It directs the reader towards many useful sites within some branches of Chemistry that provide powerful tools of research and study that may not be obtained easily at a library.

O Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra (MST) completou vinte anos em 2004. Ao longo de sua existência vem despertando o interesse de pesquisadores de diversas áreas, principalmente da Educação e da Sociologia. No entanto, ainda existem poucos trabalhos na Psicologia sobre o MST. Mapear a produção científica geral sobre o MST e analisar a produção específica da Psicologia sobre esta temática é o que se propôs esta pesquisa. Com esse objetivo, foi realizada uma busca online no banco de teses da Capes, abrangendo o período de 1987 a 2004. Todos os resumos encontrados foram impressos e categorizados. Através dos resumos foram identificadas as teses e dissertações desenvolvidas em programas de pós-graduação em Psicologia, as quais, por sua vez, foram lidas em sua totalidade, buscando-se identificar as questões orientadoras, principais resultados e conclusões das pesquisas. Destaca-se a necessidade de estudos sobre a infância, desterritorialização e sofrimento psíquico e saúde mental no campo.El movimiento de los Trabajadores Rurales Sin Tierra (MST) ha cumplido veinte años en 2004. Sin embargo, aun existen pocos trabajadores en la Psicología sobre el MST. Mapear la producción científica general sobre el MST y analizar la producción específica de la Psicología, sobre esta temática es lo que se ha propuesto con esta encuesta. Con ese objetivo ha sido realizada una búsqueda online en el banco de tesis de la CAPES, abarcando el período de 1987 a 2004. Todos los resúmenes encontrados fueron impresos y puesto en categorías. A través de los resúmenes fueron identificadas las tesis y disertaciones desarrolladas en Programas de Postgrado en Psicología que, por su vez, fueron leídas en su totalidad, buscando identificar las cuestiones orientadoras, principales resultados y conclusiones de las pesquisas. Se destaca la necesidad de estudios sobre la infancia, desterritorialización y sufrimiento psíquico y salud mental en el campo.The Landless Peasants’ Movement (MST) in Brazil commemorated twenty years in 2004. Throughout its lifetime, it has aroused the interest of researchers hailing from different areas, mainly from those involved in Education and Sociology. Few researches on the movement are extant within Psychology. The mapping of general scientific production on the Movement and an analysis of the specific production within Psychology are the objects of current research. An online search was undertaken at the CAPES data bank with regard to the 1987-2004. All abstracts were printed and classified. Whereas the abstracts revealed the theses and dissertations developed in postgraduate programs for Master’s degree in Psychology, the dissertations were read to identify pre-oriented subject matter in the researches, their main results and their conclusions. The need for further studies concerning childhood, de-territorialization, psychic suffering and mental health conditions in the rural area is emphasized.

Population aging has occurred in a rather heterogeneous way worldwide. The increasing size of the elder age group highlights various health-related problems for the elderly. One such issue is non-compliance with drug prescriptions, a potential source of serious, even life-threatening problems for the patient. The authors have proposed to identify and rank countries that develop research on drug compliance among the elderly, relevant periodicals, and the frequency articles were published between January 1987 and December 1997. A descriptive study was carried out on the basis of a bibliographical review. Three databases were surveyed: MEDLINE, SOCIOFILE e LILACS. The sample included 440 articles, limited to the behavioral sphere. The number of periodicals recorded was 255, varying from one to ten articles. The number of articles published during the study period varied from 23 in 1987 to 49 in 1992, dropping to 29 in 1997. Frequency of the number of articles/year was erratic up to 1992, leveling off from 1993 on at more than double the baseline figure. The authors emphasize the need for developing multi-focused research worldwide.O envelhecimento populacional no mundo vem ocorrendo de forma heterogênea. Os autores se propuseram a identificar e hierarquizar os países que desenvolvem pesquisas nessa área, os periódicos que as publicam e a freqüência dessas publicações de janeiro de 1987 a dezembro de 1997. Realizou-se um estudo descritivo a partir de uma pesquisa bibliográfica. Para o levantamento, foram utilizadas três bases de dados: MEDLINE, SOCIOFILE e LILACS. A amostra foi constituída de 440 publicações, restritas ao âmbito comportamental. O número de periódicos listados foi de 255, com variação de uma a dez publicações. O número de publicações variou de 23, em 1987, 49, em 1992, até 29 em 1997. A freqüência do número de publicações/ano é errática até 1992, estabilizando-se a partir de 1993, com patamar superior ao dobro do inicial. Enfatiza-se a necessidade de que os pesquisadores da área em todos os países desenvolvam investigações multicêntricas.

Os Centros de Atenção Psicossocial (CAPS) se caracterizam como serviços estratégicos na articulação da rede de atenção à saúde mental e têm sido implantados gradualmente, a partir das transformações que ocorreram na assistência psiquiátrica brasileira, considerando-se o movimento de desinstitucionalização do doente mental, a reabilitação psicossocial e a reforma psiquiátrica. Por se tratar de serviços que determinam uma história recente de atenção à saúde mental, merecem ser sistematicamente estudados. Assim, este trabalho tem por objetivo analisar as publicações científicas relacionadas aos CAPS produzidas entre 1997 e 2008. Este estudo se caracteriza pela natureza descritiva, quantitativo-qualitativa, em que se realizou pesquisa bibliográfica com consulta às bases de dados LILACS e SciELO. Os resultados evidenciaram o predomínio de trabalhos publicados em periódicos científicos, sendo prevalentes as temáticas relacionadas aos serviços que compõem a rede de saúde mental, a organização, a avaliação e os projetos desenvolvidos nos CAPS, a análise teórica a respeito da reforma psiquiátrica e os estudos clínicos, socioantropológicos e epidemiológicos. A investigação demonstrou a relevância da identificação dos principais aspectos da produção científica relativa aos CAPS considerando-se o contexto da reforma psiquiátrica e as novas formas de atendimento em saúde mental, possibilitando a apreensão de uma visão panorâmica sobre esse campo.

Resumo O Teste das Matrizes Progressivas de Raven é um instrumento não verbal para avaliação da inteligência. As pesquisas sobre ele, no Brasil, iniciaram-se na década de 1950 e continuaram a desenvolver-se com o passar dos anos, em maior ou menor escala de acordo com o período. O presente estudo objetivou quantificar e analisar a produção científica brasileira de artigos a respeito do Teste das Matrizes Progressivas de Raven, disponíveis nas bases de dados Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) e Periódicos Eletrônicos em Psicologia (PePSIC). Foram selecionados e analisados 71 artigos obtidos a partir das palavras-chaves “teste de Raven” e “Raven”. As produções científicas analisadas foram publicadas no período entre 1995 e 2014 e, em sua maioria, eram provenientes da região Sudeste brasileira. Notou-se que a maioria dos artigos referiu o uso do teste de Raven em contextos específicos, e poucos buscaram analisar as qualidades psicométricas do instrumento, evidenciando a demanda de mais estudos sobre as qualidades psicométricas do teste de Raven.

Esse trabalho tem por objetivo apresentar um panorama das pesquisas sobre a formação inicial em Letras/Inglês no Brasil que tenham gerado dados envolvendo e dando voz ao professor formador de Letras entre 1987 e 2012. A fim de atingir o objetivo, foi realizada uma busca bibliográfica no banco de teses e dissertações da CAPES a partir de termos chaves no campo assunto. Como resultados, aponto as instituições e regiões do Brasil de realização de pesquisas com este foco; o período de crescimento de estudos sobre o tema; as áreas de atuação específica dos formadores investigados e os diferentes instrumentos para geração de dados. A expectativa é não só informar sobre pesquisas quanto ao professor formador, mas também possibilitar que se detectem lacunas sobre o tema que ainda necessitam ser investigadas.
