Agriculture is India’s most common job, yet it lacks innovation and technology. As the world’s population expands, so does the demand for more food. Pesticides are used on farms to boost yield. The toxicity of the fertilizer has serious health repercussions for the farmer. So, it’s recommended to measure the amount of pesticide used and only apply it when necessary. We devised an insect-finding and insecticide-spraying mechanism. This is accomplished by employing a drone or Uninterrupted Ariel Vehicle. The drone has a camera that can photograph fields and lift pesticides weighing 3 to 4kg. After locating the insect, the insecticide is sprayed through the nozzles. In the proposed model, the Deep Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) has reached state of the art in image processing and object detection issues. Deep CNN has the potential to self-learn hidden features that help with insect detection. When compared to other similar approaches, experimental findings on a real dataset to illustrate the usefulness of the suggested methodology. We identified insects on the crop with 90% accuracy using deep CNN. Recent years have witnessed notable advancements in medical image segmentation through deep convolutional neural networks. However, a notable limitation lies in the local operation of convolution, which hinders the ability to fully exploit global semantic information. To overcome the challenges prevalent in medical image segmentation, the feature ensemble network with multi‐scale atrous transformer is proposed. At the core of the approach lies the multi‐scale contextual integration module, which is based on the multi‐scale atrous transformer and facilitates contextual integration of multi‐level features. To extract discriminative fine‐grained features of the target region, a hybrid attention mechanism that synergistically combines spatial and channel attention, thereby sharpening the model's focus on crucial target information within high‐level features, is incorporated. Additionally, the channel‐aware feature reconstruction module is introduced as an innovative component engineered to tackle feature similarity issues across different categories. This module performs feature reconstruction based on channel perception, effectively widening the feature gap between categories and enhancing the segmentation capability. Transformer possesses a broader perceptual scope, while the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) excels at capturing local information. In this paper, the authors propose the Multi‐Sclale Feature Aggregation Network (MSFA‐Net) for single‐image dehazing which is fused with the advantages of Transformer and CNN. Our MSFA‐Net is based on the encoder–decoder structure, and there are four main innovations. Firstly, the authors make some improvements to the original Swin Transformer to make it more effective for dehazing tasks, and the authors name it Spatial Information Aggregation Transformer (SIAT). The authors place the SIAT in both encoder and decoder of MSFA‐Net for feature extraction. The authors propose an upsampling module called Efficient Spatial Resolution Recovery (ESRR) which is placed in the decoder part. Compared to commonly used transposed convolutions, the authors' ESRR module has fewer computational cost. Considering that the haze distribution is always uneven and the information from each channel is different, the authors introduce the Dynamic Multi‐Attention (DMA) module to provide pixel‐wise weights and channel‐wise weights for input features. The authors place the DMA module between the encoder and decoder parts. As the network depth increases, the spatial structural information from the high‐resolution layer tends to degrade. To deal with the problem, the authors propose the Multi‐Scale Feature Fusion (MSFF) module to recover missing spatial structural information. Potholes and other road surface damages pose significant risks to vehicles and traffic safety. The current methods of in situ visual inspection for potholes or cracks are inefficient, costly, and hazardous. Therefore, there is a pressing need to develop automated systems for assessing road surface conditions, aiming to efficiently and accurately reconstruct, recognize, and locate potholes. In recent years, various methods utilizing (a) computer vision, (b) three-dimensional (3D) point clouds, or (c) smartphone data have been employed to map road surface quality conditions. Machine learning and deep learning techniques have increasingly enhanced the performance of these methods. This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of cutting-edge computer vision and machine learning algorithms for pothole detection. It covers topics such as sensing systems for acquiring two-dimensional (2D) and 3D road data, classical algorithms based on 2D image processing, segmentation-based algorithms using 3D point cloud modeling, machine learning, deep learning algorithms, and hybrid approaches. The review highlights that hybrid methods combining traditional image processing and advanced machine learning techniques offer the highest accuracy in pothole detection. Machine learning approaches, particularly deep learning, demonstrate superior adaptability and detection rates, while traditional 2D and 3D methods provide valuable baseline techniques. By reviewing and evaluating existing vision-based methods, this paper clarifies the current landscape of pothole detection technologies and identifies opportunities for future research and development. Semantic segmentation is currently a hot topic in remote sensing image processing. There are extensive applications in land planning and surveying. Many current studies combine Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), which extract local information, with Transformers, which capture global information, to obtain richer information. However, the fused feature information is not sufficiently enriched and it often lacks detailed refinement. To address this issue, we propose a novel method called the Multi-View Feature Fusion and Rich Information Refinement Network (MFRNet). Our model is equipped with the Multi-View Feature Fusion Block (MAFF) to merge various types of information, including local, non-local, channel, and positional information. Within MAFF, we introduce two innovative methods. The Sliding Heterogeneous Multi-Head Attention (SHMA) extracts local, non-local, and positional information using a sliding window, while the Multi-Scale Hierarchical Compressed Channel Attention (MSCA) leverages bar-shaped pooling kernels and stepwise compression to obtain reliable channel information. Additionally, we introduce the Efficient Feature Refinement Module (EFRM), which enhances segmentation accuracy by interacting the results of the Long-Range Information Perception Branch and the Local Semantic Information Perception Branch. We evaluate our model on the ISPRS Vaihingen and Potsdam datasets. We conducted extensive comparison experiments with state-of-the-art models and verified that MFRNet outperforms other models. Medical image segmentation through the use of deep learning is becoming a trend targeting to automate disease detection and provide effective treatment. Traditionally huge manual efforts are associated with medical image processing by medical staff. The wide use of neural networks driven by the progressive advancement in computing power and the availability of training data provides instrumental means to automate medical image processing. A polyp refers to an abnormal growth that can occur in various parts of the body. While the majority of polyps are noncancerous or benign, there are instances where certain types can develop into cancer. Detecting and segmenting polyps is highly valuable for identifying early signs and potentially enabling more effective treatment of colon cancer. In this paper, we introduce a novel method for segmenting polyp images. The proposed method utilizes convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and employs an enhanced attention mechanism. To cater to a more granular attention view, this paper enhances the Convolutional Block Attention Module by introducing the multi‐focal channel attention (MFCA) concept, which we call MFCA. In the proposed MFCA channel attention, focal attention spots allow us to consider scattered areas of interest more effectively. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method, multiple experiments are conducted on five well‐known benchmark datasets for polyp image segmentation: Kvasir, CVC‐Clinic DB, CVC‐Colon DB, CVC‐T, and ETIS‐Larib. Various testing scenarios are examined, including the impact of two focal attention spots and four focal attention spots. The experimental results demonstrated that the proposed method achieved superior performance compared to previous state‐of‐the‐art techniques on two of the benchmark datasets, and ranked second on a third dataset. Access to large image volumes through camera traps and crowdsourcing provides novel possibilities for animal monitoring and conservation. It calls for automatic methods for analysis, in particular, when re-identifying individual animals from the images. Most existing re-identification methods rely on either hand-crafted local features or end-to-end learning of fur pattern similarity. The former does not need labeled training data, while the latter, although very data-hungry typically outperforms the former when enough training data is available. We propose a novel re-identification pipeline that combines the strengths of both approaches by utilizing modern learnable local features and feature aggregation. This creates representative pattern feature embeddings that provide high re-identification accuracy while allowing us to apply the method to small datasets by using pre-trained feature descriptors. Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) is a relatively new idea in the field of real-time image retrieval applications; it is a framework for retrieving pictures from diverse medical imaging sources using a variety of image-related attributes, such as color, texture, and form. Using both single and multiple input queries, CBIR processes semantic data or the same object for various class labels in the context of medical image retrieval. Due to the ambiguity of image search, optimizing the retrieval of a query picture by comparing it across numerous image sources may be problematic. The goal is to find a way to optimize the process by which requested images are retrieved from various storage locations. To effectively extract medical images, we propose a hybrid framework (consisting of deep convolution neural networks (DCNN) and the Pareto Optimization technique). In order to obtain medical pictures, a DCNN is trained on them, and then its properties and classification results are employed. Explore enhanced effective medical picture retrieval by using a Pareto optimization strategy to eliminate superfluous and dominant characteristics. When it comes to retrieving images by query from various picture archives, our method outperforms more conventional methods. Use the jargon of machine learning to propose a Novel Unsupervised Label Indexing (NULI) strategy for retrieving picture labels. To enhance the effectiveness of picture retrieval, we characterize machine learning as a matrix convex optimization using a cluster rebased matrix representation. We describe an empirical investigation on many medical picture datasets, finding that the searchbased image annotation (SBIA) schema benefits from our suggested method. One primary concern in the field of remote-sensing image processing is the precise classification of hyperspectral images (HSIs). Lately, deep-learning models have demonstrated cutting-edge results in HSI classification. Despite this, researchers continue to study and propose simpler, more robust models. This study presents a novel deep-learning approach, the iterative convolutional neural network (ICNN), which combines spectral–fractal features and classifier probability maps iteratively, aiming to enhance the HSI classification accuracy. Experiments are conducted to prove the accuracy enhancement of the proposed method using HSI benchmark datasets of Indian pine (IP) and the University of Pavia (PU) to evaluate the performance of the proposed technique. The final results show that the proposed approach reaches overall accuracies of 99.16% and 95.5% on the IP and PU datasets, respectively, which are better than some basic methods. Additionally, the end findings demonstrate that greater accuracy levels might be achieved using a primary CNN network that employs the iteration loop than with certain current state-of-the-art spatial–spectral HSI classification techniques. In strawberry cultivation, precise disease management is crucial for maximizing yields and reducing unnecessary fungicide use. Traditional methods for measuring leaf wetness duration (LWD), a critical factor in assessing the risk of fungal diseases such as botrytis fruit rot and anthracnose, have been reliant on sensors with known limitations in accuracy and reliability and difficulties with calibrating. To overcome these limitations, this study introduced an innovative algorithm for leaf wetness detection systems employing high-resolution imaging and deep learning technologies, including convolutional neural networks (CNNs). Implemented at the University of Florida's Plant Science Research and Education Unit (PSREU) in Citra, FL, USA, and expanded to three additional locations across Florida, USA, the system captured and analyzed images of a reference plate to accurately determine the wetness and, consequently, the LWD. The comparison of system outputs with manual observations across diverse environmental conditions demonstrated the enhanced accuracy and reliability of the artificial intelligence-driven approach. By integrating this system into the Strawberry Advisory System (SAS), this study provided an efficient solution to improve disease risk assessment and fungicide application strategies, promising significant economic benefits and sustainability advances in strawberry production. We present a novel deep learning approach to a unique image processing application: high-speed (>1000 fps) video footage of lightning. High-speed cameras enable us to observe lightning with microsecond resolution, characterizing key processes previously analyzed manually. We evaluate different semantic segmentation networks (DeepLab3+, SegNet, FCN8s, U-Net, and AlexNet) and provide a detailed explanation of the image processing methods for this unique imagery. Our system architecture includes an input image processing stage, a segmentation network stage, and a sequence classification stage. The ground-truth data consists of high-speed videos of lightning filmed in South Africa, totaling 48,381 labeled frames. DeepLab3+ performed the best (93–95% accuracy), followed by SegNet (92–95% accuracy) and FCN8s (89–90% accuracy). AlexNet and U-Net achieved below 80% accuracy. Full sequence classification was 48.1% and stroke classification was 74.1%, due to the linear dependence on the segmentation. We recommend utilizing exposure metadata to improve noise misclassifications and extending CNNs to use tapped gates with temporal memory. The development of diagnostic systems for rotating machines such as induction motors (IMs) is a task of utmost importance for the industrial sector. Reliable diagnostic systems allow for the accurate detection of different faults. Different methods based on the acquisition of thermal images (TIs) have emerged as diagnosis systems for the detection of IM faults to prevent the further generation of faults. However, these methods are based on artisanal feature selection, so obtaining high accuracy rates is usually challenging. For this reason, in this work, a new system for fault detection in IMs based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and thermal images (TIs) is presented. The system is based on the training of a CNN using TIs to select and extract the most salient features of each fault present in the IM. Subsequently, a classifier based on a decision tree (DT) algorithm is trained using the features learned by the CNN to infer the motor conditions. Cervical cancer is a prevalent and concerning disease affecting women, with increasing incidence and mortality rates. Early detection plays a crucial role in improving outcomes. Recent advancements in computer vision, particularly the Swin transformer, have shown promising performance in image classification tasks, rivaling or surpassing traditional convolutional neural networks (CNNs). The Swin transformer adopts a hierarchical and efficient approach using shifted windows, enabling the capture of both local and global contextual information in images. In this paper, we propose a novel approach called Swin-GA-RF to enhance the classification performance of cervical cells in Pap smear images. Swin-GA-RF combines the strengths of the Swin transformer, genetic algorithm (GA) feature selection, and the replacement of the softmax layer with a random forest classifier. Our methodology involves extracting feature representations from the Swin transformer, utilizing GA to identify the optimal feature set, and employing random forest as the classification model. Additionally, data augmentation techniques are applied to augment the diversity and quantity of the SIPaKMeD1 cervical cancer image dataset. We compare the performance of the Swin-GA-RF Transformer with pre-trained CNN models using two classes and five classes of cervical cancer classification, employing both Adam and SGD optimizers. The experimental results demonstrate that Swin-GA-RF outperforms other Swin transformers and pre-trained CNN models. When utilizing the Adam optimizer, Swin-GA-RF achieves the highest performance in both binary and five-class classification tasks. Specifically, for binary classification, it achieves an accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score of 99.012, 99.015, 99.012, and 99.011, respectively. In the five-class classification, it achieves an accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score of 98.808, 98.812, 98.808, and 98.808, respectively. These results underscore the effectiveness of the Swin-GA-RF approach in cervical cancer classification, demonstrating its potential as a valuable tool for early diagnosis and screening programs. Most natural disasters result from geodynamic events such as landslides and slope collapse. These failures cause catastrophes that directly impact the environment and cause financial and human losses. Visual inspection is the primary method for detecting failures in geotechnical structures, but on-site visits can be risky due to unstable soil. In addition, the body design and hostile and remote installation conditions make monitoring these structures inviable. When a fast and secure evaluation is required, analysis by computational methods becomes feasible. In this study, a convolutional neural network (CNN) approach to computer vision is applied to identify defects in the surface of geotechnical structures aided by unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and mobile devices, aiming to reduce the reliance on human-led on-site inspections. However, studies in computer vision algorithms still need to be explored in this field due to particularities of geotechnical engineering, such as limited public datasets and redundant images. Thus, this study obtained images of surface failure indicators from slopes near a Brazilian national road, assisted by UAV and mobile devices. We then proposed a custom CNN and low complexity model architecture to build a binary classifier image-aided to detect faults in geotechnical surfaces. The model achieved a satisfactory average accuracy rate of 94.26%. An AUC metric score of 0.99 from the receiver operator characteristic (ROC) curve and matrix confusion with a testing dataset show satisfactory results. The results suggest that the capability of the model to distinguish between the classes 'damage' and 'intact' is excellent. It enables the identification of failure indicators. Early failure indicator detection on the surface of slopes can facilitate proper maintenance and alarms and prevent disasters, as the integrity of the soil directly affects the structures built around and above it. Face swapping or face replacement is a challenging task that involves transferring a source face to a target face while maintaining the target's facial motion and expression. Although many studies have made a lot of encouraging progress, we have noticed that most of the current solutions have the problem of blurred images, abnormal features, and unnatural pictures after face swapping. To solve these problems, in this paper, we proposed a composite face-swapping generation network, which includes a face extraction module and a feature fusion generation module. This model retains the original facial expression features, as well as the background and lighting of the image while performing face swapping, making the image more realistic and natural. The current sorting process for winter jujubes relies heavily on manual labor, lacks uniform sorting standards, and is inefficient. Furthermore, existing devices have simple structures and can only be sorted based on size. This paper introduces a method for detecting surface defects on winter jujubes using convolutional neural networks (CNNs). According to the current situation in the winter jujube industry in Zhanhua District, Binzhou City, Shandong Province, China, we collected winter jujubes with different surface qualities in Zhanhua District; produced a winter jujube dataset containing 2000 winter jujube images; improved it based on the traditional AlexNet model; selected a total of four classical convolutional neural networks, AlexNet, VGG-16, Inception-V3, and ResNet-34, to conduct different learning rate comparison training experiments; and then took the accuracy rate, loss value, and F1-score of the validation set as evaluation indexes while analyzing and discussing the training results of each model. The experimental results show that the improved AlexNet model had the highest accuracy in the binary classification case, with an accuracy of 98% on the validation set; the accuracy of the Inception V3 model reached 97%. In the detailed classification case, the accuracy of the Inception V3 model was 95%. Different models have different performances and different hardware requirements, and different models can be used to build the system according to different needs. Infrared thermal imaging presents a promising avenue for detecting physiological phenomena such as hot flushes in animals, presenting a non-invasive and efficient approach for monitoring health and behavior. However, thermal images often suffer from various types of noise, which can impede the accuracy of analysis. In this study, the efficacy of different noise filtering algorithms is investigated utilizing filtering algorithms as preprocessing steps to enhance U-Net convolutional neural network (CNN) performance in processing animal skin infrared image sets for hot flush recognition. This study compares the performance of four commonly used filtering methods: mean, median, Gaussian, and bilateral filters. The impact of each filtering technique on noise reduction and preservation of features critical for hot flush detection is evaluated in a machine learning hot flush detection algorithm. The optimal filtering for skin thermal imaging was a median filter which significantly improved the U-Net CNN's ability to accurately identify hot flush patterns, achieving an Intersection over Union score of 92.6% compared to 90.4% without filters. This research contributes to the advancement of thermal image processing methodologies for animal health monitoring applications, providing valuable insights for researchers and practitioners in the field of veterinary medicine and animal behavior studies utilizing autonomous thermal image segmentation. Abstract Plant diseases significantly threaten global agriculture, impacting crop yield and food security. Nearly 30% of the crop yield is lost due to plant diseases. Efficient identification and classification of plant diseases through computer vision techniques have become imperative for timely intervention. However, popular plant disease datasets often suffer from data imbalance, with certain classes underrepresented, hindering the performance of machine learning models. Traditional data augmentation methods, such as rotation and flipping, are limited in their effectiveness, especially when faced with imbalanced datasets. To address this limitation, we explore advanced data augmentation techniques, including Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) such as CycleGAN and LeafGAN, which have shown promise in generating synthetic images. However, we propose an innovative approach of Object-based single Style Transfer on a single neural network for augmenting the plant disease dataset. This technique focuses on mitigating data imbalance issues within datasets, which can adversely affect the model’s ability to generalize across diverse classes. The proposed method is compared with state-of-the-art data augmentation techniques, highlighting its superiority in addressing data imbalance issues. Our approach aims to produce more realistic and diverse synthetic images, leading to improved model generalization and accuracy in plant disease classification tasks validated using different classifiers. The efficiency of our approach is validated through extensive experimentation and benchmarking against existing methods.

Financial risk warning is a crucial technical issue for enterprises. Traditionally, it relied on modeling analysis of a single data type, which does not fully capture the diverse characteristics of financial risk activities. To address this, this paper introduces a multimodal deep learning framework driven by semantic analysis and image processing for intelligent warning of enterprise financial risks. Initially, natural language processing algorithms analyze textual data such as financial statements, news reports, and social media comments within the industry. Concurrently, two convolutional neural network models, M-CNN and M-RNN, extract features from images and chart data. These textual and visual feature representations are then fused to create a multimodal deep neural network framework. Extensive experimental evaluation and comparative analysis of the proposed framework were conducted. The results indicate that the financial risk rate of consumer fraud graph analysis varies significantly, displaying a fluctuating state with values ranging from 2.1% to 16.8%. Compared to other methods, the proposed approach demonstrates superior performance in financial risk warning tasks, with the risk rate increasing from 1.2% to 26.5% as it iterates from 1 to 6. During underwater image processing, image quality is affected by the absorption and scattering of light in water, thus causing problems such as blurring and noise. As a result, poor image quality is unavoidable. To achieve overall satisfying research results, underwater image denoising is vital. This paper presents an underwater image denoising method, named HHDNet, designed to address noise issues arising from environmental interference and technical limitations during underwater robot photography. The method leverages a dual-branch network architecture to handle both high and low frequencies, incorporating a hybrid attention module specifically designed for the removal of high-frequency abrupt noise in underwater images. Input images are decomposed into high-frequency and low-frequency components using a Gaussian kernel. For the high-frequency part, a Global Context Extractor (GCE) module with a hybrid attention mechanism focuses on removing high-frequency abrupt signals by capturing local details and global dependencies simultaneously. Objective: To conduct a comprehensive and systematic review of the application of existing artificial intelligence for tooth segmentation in CBCT images. Materials and Methods: A literature search of the MEDLINE, Web of Science, and Scopus databases to find publications from inception through 21 August 2023, non-English publications excluded. The risk of bias and applicability of each article was assessed using QUADAS-2, and data on segmentation category, research model, sample size and groupings, and evaluation metrics were extracted from the articles. Results: A total of 34 articles were included. Artificial intelligence methods mainly involve deep learning-based techniques, including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Fully Convolutional Networks (FCNs), and CNN-based network structures, such as U-Net and V-Net. They utilize multi-stage strategies and combine other mechanisms and algorithms to further improve the semantic or instance segmentation performance of CBCT images, and most of the models have a Dice similarity coefficient greater than 90% and accuracy ranging from 83% to 99%. Conclusions: Artificial intelligence methods have shown excellent performance in tooth segmentation of CBCT images, but still face problems, such as the small size of training data and non-uniformity of evaluation metrics, which still need to be further improved and explored for their application and evaluation in clinical applications. The article presents research on the application of image processing techniques and convolutional neural networks (CNN) for the detection and measurement of seed sizes, specifically focusing on coffee and white bean seeds. The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the potential of using CNNs to develop tools that automate seed recognition and measurement in images. A database was created, containing photographs of coffee and white bean seeds with precise annotations of their location and type. Image processing techniques and You Only Look Once v8 (YOLO) models were employed to analyze the seeds' position, size, and type. A detailed comparison of the effectiveness and performance of the applied methods was conducted. The experiments demonstrated that the best-trained CNN model achieved a segmentation accuracy of 90.1% IoU, with an average seed size error of 0.58 mm. Image denoising and super-resolution play vital roles in imaging systems, greatly reducing the preprocessing cost of many AI techniques for object detection, segmentation, and tracking. Various advancements have been accomplished in this field, but progress is still needed. In this paper, we have proposed a novel technique named the Enhanced Learning Enriched Features (ELEF) mechanism using a deep convolutional neural network, which makes significant improvements to existing techniques. ELEF consists of two major processes: (1) Denoising, which removes the noise from images; and (2) Super-resolution, which improves the clarity and details of images. Features are learned through deep CNN and not through traditional algorithms so that we can better refine and enhance images. To effectively capture features, the network architecture adopted Dual Attention Units (DUs), which align with the Multi-Scale Residual Block (MSRB) for robust feature extraction, working sidewise with the feature-matching Selective Kernel Extraction (SKF). In addition, resolution mismatching cases are processed in detail to produce high-quality images. The effectiveness of the ELEF model is highlighted by the performance metrics, achieving a Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) of 42.99 and a Structural Similarity Index (SSIM) of 0.9889, which indicates the ability to carry out the desired high-quality image restoration and enhancement. Crop diseases can significantly affect various aspects of crop cultivation, including crop yield, quality, production costs, and crop loss. The utilization of modern technologies such as image analysis via machine learning techniques enables early and precise detection of crop diseases, hence empowering farmers to effectively manage and avoid the occurrence of crop diseases. The proposed methodology involves the use of modified MobileNetV3Large model deployed on edge device for real-time monitoring of grape leaf disease while reducing computational memory demands and ensuring satisfactory classification performance. To enhance applicability of MobileNetV3Large, custom layers consisting of two dense layers were added, each followed by a dropout layer, helped mitigate overfitting and ensured that the model remains efficient. Comparisons among other models showed that the proposed model outperformed those with an average train and test accuracy of 99.66% and 99.42%, with a precision, recall, and F1 score of approximately 99.42%. The model was deployed on an edge device (Nvidia Jetson Nano) using a custom developed GUI app and predicted from both saved and real-time data with high confidence values. Grad-CAM visualization was used to identify and represent image areas that affect the convolutional neural network (CNN) classification decision-making process with high accuracy. Plant leaf diseases are challenging to categorize due to the complexity of the pattern variations and the high degrees of inter‐class similarity. Plant ailments harm food quality and production. To ensure the quality and quantity of harvests, it is essential to protect plants from disease. Detection of diseases at an early stage is the main and the most complex task for farmers due to common morphological properties like colour, shape, texture, and edges. In this study, a Hybrid Deep Learning model named Hybrid‐Convolutional Support Machine (H‐CSM) based on 'Support Vector Machine (SVM)', 'Convolutional Neural Network (CNN)' and 'Convolutional Block Attention Module (CBAM)' is proposed for the early diagnosis and classification of leaf diseases in plants leaf. The suggested model can initially identify different plant leaf illnesses, although it is not constrained to these. A database of pictures of plant leaves is used to test the suggested method based on different evaluation parameters. The results were highly promising, with an accuracy of up to 98.72% which has been increased by applying better learning methods. Similar to convolutional neural networks for image processing, existing analysis methods for 3D point clouds often require the designation of a local neighborhood to describe the local features of the point cloud. This local neighborhood is typically manually specified, which makes it impossible for the network to dynamically adjust the receptive field's range. If the range is too large, it tends to overlook local details, and if it is too small, it cannot establish global dependencies. To address this issue, we introduce in this paper a new concept: receptive field space (RFS). With a minor computational cost, we extract features from multiple consecutive receptive field ranges to form this new receptive field space. On this basis, we further propose a receptive field space attention mechanism, enabling the network to adaptively select the most effective receptive field range from RFS, thus equipping the network with the ability to adjust granularity adaptively. Many unsupervised domain generalization methods based on feature decoupling suffer from an initial neglect of explicit decoupling of content and style features, resulting in content features that still contain considerable redundant information, thereby restricting improvements in generalization capability. Currently, deep learning methods for low‐light image enhancement tasks mainly focus on the illumination of images, while neglecting the problems of image noise and feature loss. To address this issue, this paper proposes a novel low‐light image enhancement network called DAF‐Retinex, based on the Retinex‐Net. To address the issue of image noise, different from traditional image denoise methods, this paper utilizes a fully convolutional neural network to denoise the reflection component, additionally, a denoising loss function is introduced to suppress noise. For preserving image details and extracting features, this paper creatively introduces self‐calibrated convolutions into low‐light image enhancement tasks, furthermore, a feature augmented attention block consisting of feature‐guided attention (FGA) is designed for feature learning to effectively enhance image illumination and extract image detail features. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm in this paper effectively removes image noise and extracts detailed features, resulting in visually improved outcomes. Lesion segmentation is a fundamental task in medical image processing, often facing the challenge of subtle lesions. It is important to detect these lesions, even though they can be difficult to identify. Convolutional neural networks, an effective method in medical image processing, often ignore the relationship between lesions, leading to topological errors during training. To tackle topological errors, move is made from pixel‐level to hypergraph representations. Hypergraphs can model lesions as vertices connected by hyperedges, capturing the topology between lesions. This paper introduces a novel dynamic hypergraph learning strategy called DHLS. DHLS allows for the dynamic construction of hypergraphs contingent upon input vertex variations. A hypergraph global‐aware segmentation network, termed HGSNet, is further proposed. HGSNet can capture the key high‐order structure information, which is able to enhance global topology expression. Additionally, a composite loss function is introduced. The function emphasizes the global aspect and the boundary of segmentation regions. Skin lesion classification is vital for the early detection and diagnosis of skin diseases, facilitating timely intervention and treatment. However, existing classification methods face challenges in managing complex information and long-range dependencies in dermoscopic images. Therefore, this research aims to enhance the feature representation by incorporating local, global, and hierarchical features to improve the performance of skin lesion classification. We introduce a novel dual-track deep learning (DL) model in this research for skin lesion classification. The first track utilizes a modified Densenet-169 architecture that incorporates a Coordinate Attention Module (CoAM). The second track employs a customized convolutional neural network (CNN) comprising a Feature Pyramid Network (FPN) and Global Context Network (GCN) to capture multiscale features and global contextual information. The local features from the first track and the global features from second track are used for precise localization and modeling of the long-range dependencies. By leveraging these architectural advancements within the DenseNet framework, the proposed neural network achieved better performance compared to previous approaches. Normalization is utilized to remove outliers from the dataset and address network bias. In this research, MeanVariance-Softmax-Rescale (MVSR) and Min-Max normalizations are employed in various combinations for the diagnosis of COVID-19 using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN)-based Deep Learning (DL) model, aimed at enhancing network accuracy. To accomplish this, the CNN model is developed within the Google Colab environment and trained using a publicly available dataset consisting of chest X-ray images related to COVID-19. The dataset is normalized using different combinations of the MVSR and Min-Max normalization algorithms to compare model accuracy. Each normalized dataset is used for model training, and subsequently, each trained model has been saved as a .h5 file and loaded into the Kria KV260 Vision AI Starter Kit FPGA for the testing phase. The most accurate results are obtained when MVSR and Min-Max normalizations are applied simultaneously. This highperforming scenario is re-evaluated with COVID-19 and normal X-ray images on FPGA configuration. Experimentally, the highest accuracy is achieved in realtime with the MVSR+Min-Max scenario, reaching 93%. Background and Objectives: Re-identifying individuals due to its capability to match a person across non-overlapping cameras is a significant application in computer vision. However, it presents a challenging task because of the large number of pedestrians with various poses and appearances appearing at different camera viewpoints. Consequently, various learning approaches have been employed to overcome these challenges. The use of methods that can strike an appropriate balance between speed and accuracy is also a key consideration in this research. Methods: Since one of the key challenges is reducing computational costs, the initial focus is on evaluating various methods. Subsequently, improvements to these methods have been made by adding components to networks that have low computational costs. The most significant of these modifications is the addition of an Image Re-Retrieval Layer (IRL) to the Backbone network to investigate changes in accuracy. Results: Given that increasing computational speed is a fundamental goal of this work, the use of MobileNetV2 architecture as the Backbone network has been considered. The IRL block has been designed for minimal impact on computational speed. By examining this component, specifically for the CUHK03 dataset, there was a 5% increase in mAP and a 3% increase in @Rank1. For the Market-1501 dataset, the improvement is partially evident. Comparisons with more complex architectures have shown a significant increase in computational speed in these methods. Ensuring food security is a top goal for all nations, yet infected plants can negatively impact agricultural production and the country's economic resources. In the past, farmers have depended on conventional techniques to enhance crop yield. In recent times, there has been a significant decline in crop production due to pest infestations on Chilli crops. The progress of deep learning techniques facilitates the categorization of diverse sorts of images in practical applications. Especially, detecting multi-class Chilli crop pests with good accuracy using deep learning algorithms is consistently a significant challenge. The proposed study concentrated in identifying pests on Chilli leaves using deep learning methods such as YOLOv5 and YOLOv7. To improve classification accuracy, a new and unique dataset called the standard balanced custom 'Chilli pest dataset' is created with 13,414 pest images. This dataset includes three specific pest classes: Black Thrips, Redmites, and White Fly. We analysed the custom Chilli dataset using YOLOv5 and YOLOv7 to evaluate their effectiveness in detecting pests in Chilli crops and obtained novel detection performance metrics. The resultant parameters mean Average Precision (mAP) for all three pest classes is 98.6% for YOLOv5 and 86.1% for YOLOv7. The YOLOv5s detector demonstrates superior performance compared to the YOLOv7 pest classification, with a 12.5% improvement. The YOLOv7 algorithm achieves its best classification accuracy (86.1%) at a lower epoch (110), while the YOLOv5 algorithm achieves its highest classification accuracy (98.6%) at a higher epoch (350). Nevertheless, despite this distinction, the YOLOv5 algorithm is recommended as the superior detector for accurately identifying pests in well-balanced multi-class pest type datasets, in comparison to YOLOv7, VGG-16 (~92.7%), and VGG-19 (~84.24%) deep learning architectures. By utilizing hybrid quantum–classical neural networks (HNNs), this research aims to enhance the efficiency of image classification tasks. Accurately classifying the quality of apples is crucial for maximizing their commercial value. Deep learning techniques are being widely adopted for apple quality classification tasks, achieving impressive results. While existing research excels at classifying apple variety, size, shape, and defects, color and deformity analysis remain an under-explored area. Therefore, this study investigates the feasibility of utilizing convolutional neural networks (CNN) to classify the color and deformity of apples based on machine vision technology. Firstly, a custom-assembled machine vision system was constructed for collecting apple images. Then, image processing was performed to extract the largest fruit diameter from the 45 images taken for each apple, establishing an image dataset. Three classic CNN models (AlexNet, GoogLeNet, and VGG16) were employed with parameter optimization for a three-category classification task (non-deformed slice–red apple, non-deformed stripe–red apple, and deformed apple) based on apple features. VGG16 achieved the best results with an accuracy of 92.29%. AlexNet and GoogLeNet achieved 91.66% and 88.96% accuracy, respectively. Ablation experiments were performed on the VGG16 model, which found that each convolutional block contributed to the classification task. Finally, prediction using VGG16 was conducted with 150 apples and the prediction accuracy was 90.50%, which was comparable to or better than other existing models. Autonomous navigation is the leading technology in current era, in this intelligent traffic light, sign detection, ADAS and obstacle detections were playing major role. Image segmentation is the process of dividing an image into different regions, or semantic classes. This is a challenging problem in autonomous vehicle technology because it requires the vehicle to be able to understand its surroundings to safely navigate. The major challenges in this platform are the accuracy and efficiency of model performance. The proposed method in the abstract uses a convolutional neural network (CNN) to perform image segmentation. CNNs are a type of deep learning model that is well-suited for image processing tasks. The CNN in this paper was trained on a local city dataset, and it was able to achieve a mean intersection over union (IoU) of 73%. IoU is a measure of how well the segmentation results match the ground truth labels. A score of 100% indicates that the segmentation is perfect, while a score of 0% indicates that the segmentation is completely wrong. This means that the method can segment images at a very fast rate, which is important for autonomous vehicles that need to make real-time decisions. Overall, the proposed method is a promising approach for image segmentation in autonomous vehicles. It can achieve high accuracy and speed, and it is easy to implement using Python. Classifying images is one of the most important tasks in computer vision. Recently, the best performance for image classification tasks has been shown by networks that are both deep and well-connected. These days, most datasets are made up of a fixed number of color images. The input images are taken in red green blue (RGB) format and classified without any changes being made to the original. It is observed that color spaces (basically changing original RGB images) have a major impact on classification accuracy, and we delve into the significance of color spaces. Moreover, datasets with a highly variable number of classes, such as the PlantVillage dataset utilizing a model that incorporates numerous color spaces inside the same model, achieve great levels of accuracy, and different classes of images are better represented in different color spaces. Furthermore, we demonstrate that this type of model, in which the input is preprocessed into many color spaces simultaneously, requires significantly fewer parameters to achieve high accuracy for classification. The proposed model basically takes an RGB image as input, turns it into seven separate color spaces at once, and then feeds each of those color spaces into its own Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model. To lessen the load on the computer and the number of hyperparameters needed, we employ group convolutional layers in the proposed CNN model. This study evaluates the efficacy of several Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) models for the classification of hearing loss in patients using preprocessed auditory brainstem response (ABR) image data. Specifically, we employed six CNN architectures—VGG16, VGG19, DenseNet121, DenseNet-201, AlexNet, and InceptionV3—to differentiate between patients with hearing loss and those with normal hearing. A dataset comprising 7990 preprocessed ABR images was utilized to assess the performance and accuracy of these models. This paper presents a novel use of a bio-inspired retina model as a scene preprocessing stage for the recognition of letters and numbers on Chilean vehicle license plates. The goal is to improve the effectiveness and ease of pattern recognition. Inspired by the responses of mammalian retinas, this retinal model reproduces both the natural adjustment of contrast and the enhancement of object contours by parvocellular cells. Among other contributions, this paper provides an in-depth exploration of the architecture, advantages, and limitations of the model; investigates the tuning parameters of the model; and evaluates its performance when integrating a convolutional neural network and a spiking neural network into an optical character recognition (OCR) algorithm, using 40 different genuine license plate images as a case study and for testing. The results obtained demonstrate the reduction of error rates in character recognition based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs), spiking neural networks (SNNs), and OCR. The aim of this article is to introduce a novel approach to identifying flow regimes and void fractions in microchannel flow boiling, which is based on binary image segmentation using digital image processing and deep learning. The proposed image processing pipeline uses adaptive thresholding, blurring, gamma correction, contour detection, and histogram comparison to separate vapor from liquid areas, while the deep learning method uses a customized version of a convolutional neural network (CNN) called U-net to extract meaningful features from video frames. Both approaches enabled the automatic detection of flow boiling conditions, such as bubbly, slug, and annular flow, as well as automatic void fraction calculation. Especially CNN demonstrated its ability to deliver fast and dependable results, presenting an appealing substitute to manual feature extraction. The U-net-based CNN was able to segment flow boiling images with a Dice score of 99.1% and classify the above flow regimes with an overall classification accuracy of 91%. To reduce the occurrence of information loss and distortion in image style transfer, a method is proposed for researching and designing image style transfer technology based on multi‐scale convolutional neural networks (CNNs) feature fusion. Initially, the VGG19 model is designed for coarse and fine‐scale networks to achieve multi‐scale CNN feature extraction of target image information. Subsequently, while setting the corresponding feature loss function, an additional least‐squares penalty parameter is introduced to balance the optimal total loss function. Finally, leveraging the characteristics of stochastic gradient descent iteration, image features are fused and reconstructed to obtain better style transfer images. Experimental evaluations utilize peak signal‐to‐noise ratio (PSNR), structural similarity index (SSIM), information entropy (IE), and mean squared error (MSE) as metrics for assessing the transferred images, comparing them with three typical image style transfer methods. Very high-resolution remote sensing images hold promising applications in ground observation tasks, paving the way for highly competitive solutions using image processing techniques for land cover classification. To address the challenges faced by convolutional neural network (CNNs) in exploring contextual information in remote sensing image land cover classification and the limitations of vision transformer (ViT) series in effectively capturing local details and spatial information, we propose a local feature acquisition and global context understanding network (LFAGCU). Specifically, we design a multidimensional and multichannel convolutional module to construct a local feature extractor aimed at capturing local information and spatial relationships within images. Simultaneously, we introduce a global feature learning module that utilizes multiple sets of multi-head attention mechanisms for modeling global semantic information, abstracting the overall feature representation of remote sensing images. Validation, comparative analyses, and ablation experiments conducted on three different scales of publicly available datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and generalization capability of the LFAGCU method. Results show its effectiveness in locating category attribute information related to remote sensing areas and its exceptional generalization capability. Segmentation is crucial in diagnosing retinal diseases by accurately identifiying retinal vessels. This paper addresses the complexity of segmenting retinal vessels, highlighting the need for precise analysis of blood vessel structures. Despite the progress made by convolutional neural networsks (CNNs) in image segmentation, their limitations in capturing the global structure of retinal vsessels and maintaining segmentation continuity present challenges. To tackle these issues, our proposed network integrates graph convolutional networks (GCNs) and attention mechansims. This allows the model to consider pixel relationships and learn vessel graphical structures, significantly improving segmentation accuracy. Additionally, the attentional feature fusion module, including pixel‐wise and channel‐wise attention mechansims within the U‐Net architecture, refines the model's focus on relevant features. This paper emphasizes the importance of continuty preservation, ensuring an accurate representation of pixel‐level information and structural details during sefmentation. Therefore, our method performs as an effective solution to overcome challenges in retinal vessel segmentation. The proposed method outperformed the state‐of‐the‐art approaches on DRIVE (Digital Retinal Images for Vessel Extraction) and STARE (Structed Analysis of the Retina) datasets with accuracies of 0.12% and 0.14%, respecttively. Importantly, our proposed approach excelled in delineating slender and diminutive blood vessels, crucial for diagnosing vascular‐related diseases. Low‐light image enhancement is a longstanding challenge in low‐level vision, as images captured in low‐light conditions often suffer from significant aesthetic quality flaws. Recent methods based on deep neural networks have made impressive progress in this area. In contrast to mainstream convolutional neural network (CNN)‐based methods, an effective solution inspired by the transformer, which has shown impressive performance in various tasks, is proposed. This solution is centred around two key components. The first is an image synthesis pipeline, and the second is a powerful transformer‐based pre‐trained model, known as the low‐light image enhancement transformer (LIET). The image synthesis pipeline includes illumination simulation and realistic noise simulation, enabling the generation of more life‐like low‐light images to overcome the issue of data scarcity. LIET combines streamlined CNN‐based encoder‐decoders with a transformer body, efficiently extracting global and local contextual features at a relatively low computational cost. Decomposing an image into meaningful components is an effective way for image processing. Making full use of cartoon features and texture features with deep neural networks may further achieve the stable noise cancellation performance for low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) denoising. However, the performance of conventional deep neural networks is limited by their black-box nature. To overcome this drawback, we proposed an algorithm unrolling approach for LDCT denoising, namely, the cartoon-texture features guided network (CTFG-Net). The CTFG-Net integrates a cartoon sub-network, a texture sub-network, and a fusion sub-network into an end-to-end convolutional neural network model. A cartoon decomposition algorithm and a texture decomposition algorithm were unrolled to the cartoon sub-network and the texture sub-network, respectively. These two sub-networks were employed to decompose a LDCT image into its cartoon components and texture components. During the process of image decomposition, these two sub-networks exploited cartoon features and texture features to greatly suppress noise and remove artifacts in the corresponding components. At last, the final denoised results were yielded through a data fusion of the denoised cartoon components and the denoised texture components. The proposed model was tested with three datasets, Mayo dataset, Piglet dataset, and AbdomenCT-1K dataset. Qualitative results show that the CTFG-Net achieved better denoising effects for LDCT images than the competing algorithms. Compared to the competing algorithms, the proposed CTFG-Net also improved the peak signal-to-noise ratio, structural similarity index measure, and visual information fidelity by (0.3994 dB and 0.7692 dB), (0.0115 and 0.0056), and (0.0751 and 0.0433) with Mayo dataset and Piglet dataset. Perception systems in autonomous vehicles need to accurately detect and classify objects within their surrounding environments. Numerous types of sensors are deployed on these vehicles, and the combination of such multimodal data streams can significantly boost performance. The authors introduce a novel sensor fusion framework using deep convolutional neural networks. The framework employs both camera and LiDAR sensors in a multimodal, multiview configuration. The authors leverage both data types by introducing two new innovative fusion mechanisms: element‐wise multiplication and multimodal factorised bilinear pooling. The methods improve the bird's eye view moderate average precision score by +4.97% and +8.35% on the KITTI dataset when compared to traditional fusion operators like element‐wise addition and feature map concatenation. An in‐depth analysis of key design choices impacting performance, such as data augmentation, multi‐task learning, and convolutional architecture design is offered.
