Thymoma is frequently correlated with various autoimmune diseases. However, unequivocal therapeutic targets for thymoma remain undefined, and the role of immune checkpoints in the development of thymoma-related autoimmune illnesses is unclear. We examined 39 thymoma samples and 44 normal control samples from the GEO database. Following batch correction, we identified 224 Differentially Expressed Genes (DEGs) using the Limma package. We employed Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analyses to enrich for functional pathways of DEGs. We utilized a Protein–Protein Interaction (PPI) network to identify hub genes and determine their correlation with immune cell infiltration using CIBERSORT. Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR), western blot, and immunohistochemical staining were implemented to verify identified hub genes in vivo. Simultaneously, we evaluated the prognostic relevance of the hub gene using clinical data. We determined COL1A1, COL1A2, and BGN to be the central hub genes in thymoma. Validation via RT-qPCR, Western blot, and immunohistochemical staining established significant statistical divergence between thymoma tissue and the normal thymus for only BGN. Expression levels of BGN showed strong negative correlation with the infiltration level of B cells and CD4+ T cells, yet a significant positive correlation with the level of neutrophil infiltration. We found high immune infiltration levels of macrophages, NK cells, and Th1 cells in the thymoma microenvironment in patients with a high expression of BGN. Co-localization of BGN and macrophages within thymoma tissue was discerned via tissue staining. Clinical data dictated that thymoma patients exhibiting elevated BGN expression underwent longer hospital stays, longer lengths in intensive care units, greater hospitalization costs, and extended ventilator usage; our study, augmented by clinical information, recognized BGN as possessive of diagnostic and prognostic significance in thymoma through in silico and molecular verification experiments. B-cell subsets in peripheral blood (PB) and tumor microenvironment (TME) were evaluated to determine myasthenia gravis (MG) severity in patients with thymoma-associated MG (TMG) and the distribution of B cells in type B TMG. The distribution of mature B cells, including Bm1–Bm5, CD19+ and CD20+ B cells and non-switched (NSMBCs) and switched (SMBCs) memory B cells, were determined in 79 patients with thymoma or TMG. Quantitative relationships between the T and TMG groups and the TMG-low and TMG-high subgroups were determined. NSMBCs and SMBCs were compared in TME and PB. Type B thymoma was more likely to develop into MG, with types B2 and B3 being especially associated with MG worsening. The percentage of CD19+ B cells in PB gradually increased, whereas the percentage of CD20+ B cells and the CD19/CD20 ratio were not altered. The (Bm2 + Bm2′)/(eBm5 + Bm5) index was significantly higher in the TMG-high than in thymoma group. The difference between SMBC/CD19+ and NSMBC/CD19+ B cell ratios was significantly lower in the thymoma than TMG group. NSMBCs assembled around tertiary lymphoid tissue in thymomas of patients with TMG. Few NSMBCs were observed in patients with thymoma alone, with these cells being diffusely distributed. MG severity in patients with TMG can be determined by measuring CD19+ B cells and Bm1-Bm5 in PB. The CD19/CD20 ratio is a marker of disease severity in TMG patients. In order to study the theoretical mechanism of the impact of green technology progress on carbon emissions, this article constructs a theoretical mechanism of the impact of green technology progress on carbon emission growth. Explore the conditions for achieving carbon peak and carbon reduction. Based on the Cobb Douglas production function, construct a three sector model that includes capital, labor, and energy. Empirical methods were used to analyze the quantitative impact of green technology progress on carbon emission growth and the moderating effect of energy input share. This study mainly used provincial panel data from 1995 to 2020. Calculate carbon dioxide emissions based on energy consumption and carbon dioxide emission coefficients of various energy sources in different regions. Using the perpetual inventory method to calculate capital growth rate, green computing progress rate, etc., to provide data support for the green technology carbon reduction model. Empirical analysis of the impact of green technology progress on carbon emissions using the FGLS panel model. Theoretical and empirical analyses show that green technological progress promotes an increase in the carbon emission growth rate through the scale effect, with an impact coefficient of 0.607; it promotes a decrease in the carbon emission growth rate through the technological effect, with an impact coefficient of − 0.667; the combined effect promotes a decrease in growth rate of carbon emissions, with an impact coefficient of − 0.06. Objective: To develop a risk stratification model based on the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) staging combined with squamous cell carcinoma antigen (SCC-Ag) for the classification of patients with cervical squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC) into different risk groups. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the data of 664 women with stage IIA–IVB CSCC according to the 2018 FIGO staging system who received definitive radiotherapy from March 2013 to December 2017 at the department of radiation oncology of Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center. Cutoff values for continuous variables were estimated using receiver operating characteristic curve analysis. Using recursive partitioning analysis (RPA) modeling, overall survival was predicted based on the prognostic factors determined via Cox regression analysis. The predictive performance of the RPA model was assessed using the consistency index (C-index). Intergroup survival differences were determined and compared using Kaplan–Meier analysis and the log-rank test. Results: Multivariate Cox regression analysis identified post-treatment SCC-Ag (< 1.35 ng/mL and > 1.35 ng/mL; hazard ratio (HR), 4.000; 95% confidence interval (CI), 2.911–5.496; P < 0.0001) and FIGO stage (II, III, and IV; HR, 2.582, 95% CI, 1.947–3.426; P < 0.0001) as the independent outcome predictors for overall survival. The RPA model based on the above prognostic factors divided the patients into high-, intermediate-, and low-risk groups. Significant differences in overall survival were observed among the three groups (5-year overall survival: low vs. intermediate vs. high, 91.3% vs. 76.7% vs. 29.5%, P < 0.0001). The predictive performance of the RPA model (C-index, 0.732; 95% CI, 0.701–0.763) was prominently superior to that of post-treatment SCC-Ag (C-index, 0.668; 95% CI, 0.635–0.702; P < 0.0001) and FIGO stage (C-index, 0.663; 95% CI, 0.631–0.695; P < 0.0001). Conclusions: The RPA model based on FIGO staging and post-treatment SCC-Ag can predict the overall survival of patients with CSCC, thereby providing a guide for the formulation of risk-adaptive treatment and individualized follow-up strategies. Sea surface wind (SSW) observations from a newly developed "Black Pearl" wave glider, the Chinese-French Oceanography Satellite (CFOSAT), the HY-2A microwave scatterometer, and a recently released high-resolution atmospheric reanalysis (ERA5) are evaluated with respect to in-situ buoy observations (115.46°E, 19.85°N) from the South China Sea. Buoy observations from June to November 2019 are used to evaluate the wind estimates from the different platforms. The comparisons show that the HY-2A and CFOSAT scatterometer wind speeds have mean root mean square errors (RMSEs) of approximately 1.6 and 1.6 m/s, respectively, and the corresponding mean wind direction RMSEs are approximately 19° and 17°, which indicates that these satellite retrievals meet the requirements of design engineering missions. The wind speed and wind direction RMSEs of ERA5 are approximately 1.9 m/s and 33°, respectively. The correlation coefficients between the HY-2A, CFOSAT, and ERA5 wind speeds and the buoy observations are 0.86, 0.85, and 0.84, respectively, and the corresponding coefficients of the wind direction are 0.98, 0.98, and 0.93, respectively, at a 95% confidence level. However, the wind sensor in the wave glider provides relatively poor-quality observations compared with the buoy measurements and has higher wind speed and wind direction RMSEs of 2.9 m/s and 50.1°, respectively. Taylor diagrams are utilized to illustrate comprehensive wind comparisons between the multiplatform observations and buoy observations. The results help identify the basic biases in SSWs among different products and enhance confidence in the future use of SSW data for studies of upper ocean dynamics and climate analysis. The process from the initial sand movement to sand flux saturation is described as the relaxation of aeolian sand transport. For this relaxation process, most existing models distinguish the conditions with and without upwind sand flux, therefore lacking in generality. An improved analytical model is proposed in this paper, which incorporates the phenomena of "overshoot" and "equilibrium" and the concept of the region of initiation by fluid, and is able to unify the cases with and without upwind sand flux. Within the proposed model, a new definition of the saturation length is proposed based on the analogy between two damping oscillation models, and its constancy is physically interpreted and verified with wind tunnel experimental data. In comparison with the existing models, the proposed model agrees better with the measurements of the process of sand transport, thereby shedding light on the understanding of aeolian sand transport under complex circumstances. This article presents the results of an examination of self-determination theory; in this examination, the theory is extended through deeper insight into the compensatory association between autonomy and relatedness satisfaction. This study is designed to investigate whether the mutual influence of autonomy satisfaction and relatedness satisfaction on positive affect (PA), negative affect (NA), and aggressive feelings is best described as compensatory. The results of two laboratory studies verify a compensatory relationship and confirm a mediation by meaningful existence. The results verify the compensation effects of high relatedness satisfaction on NA and aggressive feelings when autonomy satisfaction is low. Bioelectronics for modulating the nervous system have shown promise in treating neurological diseases1–3. However, their fixed dimensions cannot accommodate rapid tissue growth4,5 and may impair development6. For infants, children and adolescents, once implanted devices are outgrown, additional surgeries are often needed for device replacement, leading to repeated interventions and complications6–8. Here, we address this limitation with morphing electronics, which adapt to in vivo nerve tissue growth with minimal mechanical constraint. We design and fabricate multilayered morphing electronics, consisting of viscoplastic electrodes and a strain sensor that eliminate the stress at the interface between the electronics and growing tissue. The ability of morphing electronics to self-heal during implantation surgery allows a reconfigurable and seamless neural interface. During the fastest growth period in rats, morphing electronics caused minimal damage to the rat nerve, which grows 2.4-fold in diameter, and allowed chronic electrical stimulation and monitoring for 2 months without disruption of functional behavior. Eu-doped boehmite nanofiber materials with different Eu concentrations were synthesized without any surfactant, and followed by a series of characterizations. It was found that the boehmite nanofibers became coarser with the increase of Eu concentration, which resulted in a gradual decrease of their specific surface areas. Moreover, the thermal stability of the boehmite nanofibers was studied by thermogravimetry-differential scanning calorimetry. All materials showed the phase transition from γ-AlO to other forms. Yet the transition temperature was increased with the increase of Eu concentration. The Eu-doped boehmite nanofibers with the maximum Eu concentrations showed the best thermal stability. COVID-19 pandemic provides an opportunity to investigate how a new and long-lasting threat affects public risk perception and social distancing behavior, which is important for pandemic risk management and recovery of the tertiary industry. We have found that the mechanism that perception decides behavior changes over time. At the beginning of the pandemic, risk directly shapes people's willingness of going out. But under a persistent threat, perception no longer plays the direct role of shape people's willingness. Instead, perception indirectly influences the willingness by shaping people's judgment about the necessity of traveling. Switching from direct to indirect influence, perception's effect is enlarged, which partially prevents people from returning to normal life even if the governmental ban is removed in a zero-COVID community. Nanostructured titania has been extensively investigated as photocatalytic material and is capable of killing bacteria attached on its surface. The persistent challenge yet is how to effectively promote adhesion of bacteria on its surface for consequent extermination. The study presented here deals with liquid flame-sprayed nanostructured titania-hydroxyapatite (HA) coatings. Addition of HA alleviated phase transformation of titania from anatase to rutile during the coating deposition, reducing rutile to anatase ratio from 9.58 to 1.99%, and precluded effectively aggregation of the nano titania particles in the as-sprayed coatings. Adherence of Escherichia coli bacteria on the coatings showed significant dependence on content of HA, and the increased HA content resulted in enhanced attachment of the bacteria. Examination of the photocatalytic activity of the coatings through decomposition of methylene blue dye in water revealed that addition of HA did not markedly deteriorate the photocatalytic performances of the coatings. The coatings consisting of 10 wt.% HA showed the best photocatalytic activity, which is comparable to that exhibited by immobilized Degussa P25 coatings. The unambiguous evidence provided in this study suggests that the coatings made from combination of biocompatible HA and photocatalytic nano titania have great potential for antibacterium applications. In addition to genetic mutations, biomechanical factors also affect the structures and functions of the tumors during tumor growth, including solid stress, interstitial fluid pressure, stiffness, and microarchitecture. Solid stress affects tumors by compressing cancer and stromal cells and deforming blood and lymphatic vessels which reduce supply of oxygen, nutrients and drug delivery, making resistant to treatment. Researchers simulate the stress by creating mechanical models both in vitro and in vivo. Cell models in vitro are divided into two dimensions (2D) and three dimensions (3D). 2D models are simple to operate but exert pressure on apical surface of the cells. 3D models, the multicellular tumor spheres, are more consistent with the actual pathological state in human body. However, the models are more difficult to establish compared with the 2D models. Besides, the procedure of the animal models in vivo is even more complex and tougher to operate. Then, researchers challenged to quantify the solid stress through some measurement methods. We compared the advantages and limitations of these models and methods, which may help to explore new therapeutic targets for normalizing the tumor's physical microenvironment. Magnesium silicate is an inorganic compound used as an ingredient in product formulations for many different purposes. Since its compatibility with other components is critical for product quality and stability, it is essential to characterize the integrity of magnesium silicate in different solutions used for formulations. In this paper, we have determined the magnitude of dissociation of synthetic magnesium silicate in solution with positively charged, neutral, and negatively charged compounds using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS), and Liquid Chromatography-High Resolution Mass Spectrometry (LC-HRMS). The EDS results were verified through Monte Carlo simulations of electron-sample interactions. The compounds chosen for this study were positively charged cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC), neutral lauryl glucoside, and negatively charged sodium cocoyl glutamate and sodium cocoyl glycinate since these are common compounds used in personal care and oral care formulations. Negatively charged compounds significantly impacted magnesium silicate dissociation, resulting in physio-chemical separation between magnesium and silicate ions. In contrast, the positively charged compound had a minor effect on dissociation due to ion competition, and the neutral compound did not have such an impact on magnesium silicate dissociation. Further, when the magnesium ions are dissociated from the synthetic magnesium silicate, the morphology is changed accordingly, and the structural integrity of the synthetic magnesium silicate is damaged. This paper investigates the estimate of motion parameters from 3D hand joint positions. We formulate the issue as an inverse kinematics problem with biomechanical constraints and propose a fast and robust iterative approach to address the constrained optimization. It elaborately designs a coordinate descent algorithm to decompose the problem into a sequence of decisions on the transformation around each kinematic node (i.e., joint), while the decision for each node is equivalent to a point matching problem. Addressing the whole optimization then amounts to considering all nodes of the kinematic tree from its root to leaves one by one. This not only accelerates the process but also improves the accuracy of the solution of the inverse kinematic optimization. Anal cancer incidence is significantly higher in people living with HIV as HIV increases the oncogenic potential of human papillomavirus. The incidence of anal cancer in the United States has recently increased, with diagnosis and treatment hampered by high loss-to-follow-up rates. Novel methods for the automated, real-time diagnosis of AIN 2+ could enable "see and treat" strategies, reducing loss-to-follow-up rates. A previous retrospective study demonstrated that the accuracy of a high-resolution microendoscope (HRME) coupled with a deep learning model was comparable to expert clinical impression for diagnosis of AIN 2+ (sensitivity 0.92 [P = 0.68] and specificity 0.60 [P = 0.48]). However, motion artifacts and noise led to many images failing quality control (17%). Here, we present a high frame rate HRME (HF-HRME) with improved image quality, deployed in the clinic alongside a deep learning model and evaluated prospectively for detection of AIN 2+ in real-time. The HF-HRME reduced the fraction of images failing quality control to 4.6% by employing a high frame rate camera that enhances contrast and limits motion artifacts. The HF-HRME outperformed the previous HRME (P < 0.001) and clinical impression (P < 0.0001) in the detection of histopathologically confirmed AIN 2+ with a sensitivity of 0.91 and specificity of 0.87. Objective: To search for human protein-coding genes related to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in the context of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, and perform prognosis risk assessment. Methods: Genes related to HBV-HCC were selected through literature screening and protein–protein interaction (PPI) network database analysis. Prognosis potential genes (PPGs) were identified using Cox regression analysis. Patients were divided into high-risk and low-risk groups based on PPGs, and risk scores were calculated. Kaplan–Meier plots were used to analyze overall survival rates, and the results were predicted based on clinicopathological variables. Association analysis was also conducted with immune infiltration, immune therapy, and drug sensitivity. Experimental verification of the expression of PPGs was done in patient liver cancer tissue and normal liver tissue adjacent to tumors. Results: The use of a prognosis potential genes risk assessment model can reliably predict the prognosis risk of patients, demonstrating strong predictive ability. Kaplan–Meier analysis showed that the overall survival rate of the low-risk group was significantly higher than that of the high-risk group. There were significant differences between the two subgroups in terms of immune infiltration and IC50 association analysis. Experimental verification revealed that CYP2C19, FLNC, and HNRNPC were highly expressed in liver cancer tissue, while UBE3A was expressed at a lower level. Conclusion: PPGs can be used to predict the prognosis risk of HBV-HCC patients and play an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of liver cancer. Cell specific-targeted therapy (CSTT) for acute ischemic stroke remains underdeveloped. Cerebrovascular endothelial cells (CECs) are key components of the blood–brain barrier and are the first brain cells affected by ischemic stroke. After stroke, CEC injury causes insufficient energy supply to neurons and leads to cytotoxic and vasogenic brain edema. Aptamers are short single-stranded RNA or DNA molecules that can bind to specific ligands for cell specific delivery. The expression of vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1) is increased on CECs after stroke. Herein, we report that an RNA-based VCAM-1-aptamer can specifically target CECs in stroke brains following transient middle cerebral artery occlusion in mice. Our data demonstrate the potential of an RNA-based aptamer as an effective delivery platform to target CECs after stroke. Physarum Polycephalum is a unicellular and multi-headed slime mold, which can form high efficient networks connecting spatially separated food sources in the process of foraging. Such adaptive networks exhibit a unique characteristic in which network length and fault tolerance are appropriately balanced. Based on the biological observations, the foraging process of Physarum demonstrates two self-organized behaviors, i.e., search and contraction. In this paper, these two behaviors are captured in a multi-agent system. Two types of agents and three transition rules are designed to imitate the search and the contraction behaviors of Physarum based on the necessary and the sufficient conditions of a self-organized computational system. Some simulations of foraging process are used to investigate the characteristics of our system. Experimental results show that our system can autonomously search for food sources and then converge to a stable solution, which replicates the foraging process of Physarum. Specially, a case study of maze problem is used to estimate the path-finding ability of the foraging behaviors of Physarum. What's more, the model inspired by the foraging behaviors of Physarum is proposed to optimize meta-heuristic algorithms for solving optimization problems. Through comparing the optimized algorithms and the corresponding traditional algorithms, we have found that the optimization strategies have a higher computational performance than their corresponding traditional algorithms, which further justifies that the foraging behaviors of Physarum have a higher computational ability. The vibration deterioration of discontinuities with different joint wall material (DDJM) plays a vital role in the seismic behavior of soft and hard interbedded rock slopes under earthquake; however, too little work has been devoted to the subject due to lack of attention. In the present study, the seismic behavior of soft and hard interbedded rock slopes considering the vibration deterioration of DDJM was studied by taking the Shaba slope in China as a study case. A mathematical model quantitatively describing the strength deterioration of DDJM under strong earthquakes was established based on the results of the cyclic shear test, and the deterioration process was implemented by the FISH programming language in numerical software 3DEC. The deformation characteristics and supporting effects of the Shaba slope with the deterioration model were analyzed under seismic loads with different intensities. The results show that the maximum permanent displacements of the Shaba slope without supports obviously rise with the enlargement of seismic loads. Compared with results without considering the vibration deterioration of DDJM, the difference of maximum permanent displacements increases from 15 to 39.7% under seismic loads with intensities from VI to VIII degree. The existing supporting measures on the Shaba slope can not withstand the seismic load with intensities above VI degree and need to be optimized to prevent earthquake-induced disasters in the future. Carbon graphite materials inevitably produce more internal microcracks and pores during the carbonization process, which makes the materials have lower mechanical properties and poor frictional properties, limiting their applications. In this paper, the modification of coal tar pitch using oleic acid modified multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) can increase the dispersion of MWCNTs, change the carbonization process of the pitch and optimize the microstructure of the composite. The results showed that the dispersibility of oleic acid modified MWCNTs was significantly improved, and they could act as nucleating agents in the carbonization process of coal tar pitch to improve the graphitization degree and carbonization yield of the pitch. When the content of oleic acid modified MWCNTs was 0.1%, the compressive and flexural strengths of the modified carbon graphite material reached the maximum, which increased by 54.81% and 64.43%, respectively, compared with the pristine material, and led to a 46.47% reduction in wear rate. In this study, a simple route for the synthesis of hollow mesoporous carbon materials (HMCMs) with adjustable shell thicknesses via a one-pot strategy for direct carbonization and etching was developed. HMCMs were examined as a carrier matrix for the delivery of tetracycline hydrochloride (TH). The thickness of the mesoporous shell could be tuned between 7 and 90 nm by changing the amount of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide and composition of the polymer precursor. The obtained materials were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, and N adsorption-desorption isotherms. The optimum conditions for the synthesis of the HMCM spheres were systematically investigated. The synthesized materials possessed specific surface areas of 710-954 m g and average pore diameters of 3.8 nm. The performance of the HMCMs towards the delivery of TH was tested in vitro in an aqueous bath at 37 °C; the release of TH from these drug delivery systems was monitored by UV-Vis spectroscopy. Results demonstrated that by adjusting the mesoporous carbon shell thickness of the HMCMs, high TH adsorption capacities (722-850 mg g) and tunable higher drug releases ranging from 15 to 25 h and sustained lower drug releases over the subsequent ~30 h were achieved. Recent research has paid little attention to weakening of discontinuities with different joint wall material (DDJM) induced by wetting and drying cycles. Experimental investigations were conducted to examine the effects of wetting–drying cycles on weakening of three typical types of natural planar DDJM collected from a sliding-prone formation in the Three Gorges reservoir region of China. Deterioration of the corresponding four types of discontinuities with identical joint wall material (DIJM) were also been studied for comparison. The weakening laws of DDJM were revealed from macro- and microperspectives by testing on mineral compositions, microstructures and water absorption rate of joint walls as well as shear strength of discontinuities. The results indicate that the repeated wetting–drying cycles lead to obvious changes in microstructure and increases of macro water absorption rate for the studied joint walls with the changing degree closely related to their clay mineral contents; the peak shear strengths of DDJM gradually decreases with the wetting and drying cycles for a certain normal stress with the weakening rate between that of the DIJM with two joint wall materials of the DDJM, while closer to that of DIJM with the weak half materials of the DDJM; significant correlations have been found between the variation coefficient of rock microstructure of joint walls and the macrodeterioration coefficient of DDJM; the changing rates of multi-scale parameters before and after six wetting–drying cycles vary obviously, indicating the weakening is slowed down after six wetting–drying cycles for the studied discontinuities. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of DOACs for stroke prevention in patients with AF and ILF.This study was based on data from 15 centers in China, including 4,982 AF patients. The patients were divided into 2 subgroups based on their liver function status: patients with normal liver function (NLF)(n = 4213) and patients with ILF (n = 769). Logistic regression analysis was used to investigate the risk of total bleeding, major bleeding, thromboembolism, and all-cause deaths in AF patients with NLF and ILF after taking dabigatran or rivaroxaban, respectively.Among AF patients treated with dabigatran or rivaroxaban, patients with ILF were associated with significantly higher major bleeding, compared with NLF patients (aOR: 4.797; 95% CI: 2.224–10.256; P < 0.001). In patients with NLF, dabigatran (n = 2011) had considerably lower risk of total bleeding than rivaroxaban (n = 2202) (aOR: 1.23; 95% CI: 1.002–1.513; P = 0.049). Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to study the correlation between demographic and clinical factors and warfarin dose of patients in Chinese Han population taking warfarin and study gene polymorphisms impact of related gene loci (CYP2C9*3, VKORC1-1639G > A) on warfarin doses, to establish a model to predict initial standard dose and maintenance dose based on CYP2C9*3, VKORC1-1639G > A genotype. Methods: The study collects the data of patients in our hospital and other subcenters which incorporates 2160 patients to establish the initial dose model and 1698 patients for the stable dose model, and sequences 26 multigene sites in 451 patients. Based on the patient's dosage, clinical data, and demographic characteristics, the genetic and non-genetic effects on the initial dose and stable dose of warfarin are calculated by using statistical methods, and the prediction model of initial standard dose and maintenance dose can be established via multiple linear regression. Results: The initial dose of warfarin (mg/day) was calculated as (1.346 + 0.350 × (VKORC1-1639G > A) − 0.273 × (CYP2C9*3) + 0.245 × (body surface area) − 0.003 × (age) − 0.036 × (amine-iodine) + 0.021 × (sex))2. This model incorporated seven factors and explained 55.3% of the individualization differences of the warfarin drug dose. The maintenance dose of warfarin (mg/day) was calculated as (1.336 + 0.299 × (VKORC1-1639G > A) + 0.480 × (body surface area) − 0.214 × (CYP2C9*3) − 0.074 × (amine-iodine) − 0.003 × (age) − 0.077 × (statins) − 0.002 × (height))2. This model incorporated six factors and explained 42.4% of the individualization differences in the warfarin drug dose. Conclusion: The genetic and non-genetic factors affecting warfarin dose in Chinese Han population were studied systematically in this study. Short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) produced by the colonic bacterial fermentation of dietary fiber contribute a significant proportion of daily energy requirement. Furthermore, these compounds are modulators of macrophage function and potential targets for the development of new drugs. The aims of this study were to evaluate the effects of three types of SCFAs (sodium acetate (NaAc), sodium propionate (NaP), and sodium butyrate (NaB)) on the production of NO and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and proinflammatory and antiinflammatory cytokines (tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin (IL-1, IL-6, and IL-10)) and to observe the effect of NaAc on inhibiting lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced NF-κB activation in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. The results show that three types of SCFAs (acetate, propionate, and butyrate) reduced the production of proinflammatory factors, including TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and NO, and inhibited the vitality of iNOS. Meanwhile, SCFAs enhanced the production of antiinflammatory cytokine IL-10 in lower concentrations (1-1,200 μmol/L). Like NaB, NaAC inhibited LPS-induced NF-κB activation. Inspired by the traditional floating raft vibration suppression system, in order to solve the problem of random vibration of the plate, through miniaturizing the floating raft system and using the microfloating raft arrays to replace the distributed dynamic vibration absorbers, a plate with microfloating raft arrays is constructed in this paper. The vibration response equation of the structure under multi-point random excitation is established by using modal superposition method. The auto-power spectral density (APSD) of displacement is obtained by using MATLAB, and the influence of system parameters on the vibration response is analyzed. Optimal combination of parameters is obtained by the generalized pattern search algorithm. Vibration reduction effect of this structure is analyzed. The results show that redistribution of microfloating raft element interval and an increase in the thickness, flexural rigidity and damping of the plate could increase the vibration suppression effect. It is also shown that an increase in mass ratio and stiffness ratio of the microfloating raft element could significantly reduce the vibration of the plate. When it achieves the optimal vibration suppression effect, the mass ratio, the stiffness ratio and the damping ratio are 0.3, 8.8562 and 4.7660, respectively. Compared with other plate structures, the plate with microfloating raft arrays of optimal parameter has the minimum APSD of displacement and minimum energy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: The recurrence of positive SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR is frequently found in discharged COVID-19 patients but its clinical significance remains unclear. The potential cause, clinical characteristics and infectiousness of the recurrent positive RT-PCR patients need to be answered. Methods: A single-centered, retrospective study of 51 discharged COVID-19 patients was carried out at a designated hospital for COVID-19. The demographic data, clinical records and laboratory findings of 25 patients with recurrent positive RT-PCR from hospitalization to follow-up were collected and compared to 26 patients with negative RT-PCR discharged regularly during the same period. Discharged patients' family members and close contacts were also interviewed by telephone to evaluate patients' potential infectiousness. Results: The titer of both IgG and IgM antibodies was significantly lower (p = 0.027, p = 0.011) in patients with recurrent positive RT-PCR. Median duration of viral shedding significantly prolonged in patients with recurrent positive RT-PCR (36.0 days vs 9.0 days, p = 0.000). There was no significant difference in demographic features, clinical features, lymphocyte subsets count and inflammatory cytokines levels between the two groups of patients. No fatal case was noted in two groups. As of the last day of follow-up, none of the discharged patients' family members or close contact developed any symptoms of COVID-19. Conclusions: Patients with low levels of IgG and IgM are more likely to have recurrent positive SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR results and lead to a prolonged viral shedding. The recurrent positive of SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR may not indicate the recurrence or aggravation of COVID-19. The detection of SARS-CoV-2 by RT-PCR in the patients recovered from COVID-19 is not necessarily correlated with the ability of transmission. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The effect of reinforcement surface modification on the residual stress (RS) in 35vo l%SiCp/6061Al composites was studied, and the experimental conclusions were verified by finite element analysis. The results show that after the SiC particles were modified by pickling, ultrasonic stirring and high-temperature oxidation (1100 ℃/6 h), the composite has the lowest RS, which was only 1.1 MPa. Microstructure and phase composition of 35vo l%SiCp/6061Al composites have been examined by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). It was found that the reinforcement surface modification was beneficial to promote the improvement of interface bonding state, and the diffraction peaks of Si element have been significantly enhanced. Additionally, the formed Al-Si-SiC interphase has a higher interface adhesion work, which effectively reduced the concentration degree of RS. An interface-phase model based on the surface morphology of real SiC particles was established. The simulation results show that the RS was mainly concentrated in the sharp corners of reinforcement, and the stress level is relatively high. When the sharp corners were eliminated, the stress level gradually decreases. When the Al-Si-SiC interphase was formed, the stress level in SiCp/6061Al composites decreases significantly. Studies on climate change typically consider temperature and precipitation over extended periods but less so the wind. We used the Cross-Calibrated Multi-Platform (CCMP) 24-year wind field data set to investigate the trends of wind energy over the South China Sea during 1988–2011. The results reveal a clear trend of increase in wind power density for each of three base statistics (i.e., mean, 90th percentile and 99th percentile) in all seasons and for annual means. The trends of wind power density showed obvious temporal and spatial variations. The magnitude of the trends was greatest in winter, intermediate in spring, and smallest in summer and autumn. A greater trend of increase was found in the northern areas of the South China Sea than in southern parts. The magnitude of the annual and seasonal trends over the South China Sea was larger in extreme high events (i.e., 90th and 99th percentiles) compared to the mean conditions. Sea surface temperature showed a negative correlation with the variability of wind power density over the majority of the South China Sea in all seasons and annual means, except for winter (41.7%). In an industrial production process, the leakage of continuous objects poses a serious threat to production safety. In this paper, a diffusion distance-based predictive tracking algorithm is proposed for industrial wireless sensor networks (IWSNs), aiming to timely track the boundary of a continuous object after the occurrence of a leak. Based on the assumption that the motion of the continuous object follows an appropriate diffusion model, sensor nodes are able to capture environmental parameters for establishing the mathematical expression of the model locally. Through building up the relation of diffusion radius with time, each node predicts diffusion scope of the continuous object at different times and makes a judgment about whether it is suitable to be a boundary node. Moreover, to achieve high energy-efficiency, a sleep/wake cycle is introduced to involve a small number of nodes in the process of tracking, while the rest of nodes stay idle until an object approaches. Finally, a cluster-based competitive mechanism is proposed for reporting the location of boundary nodes. Background: The debate continues regarding the best way to reconstruct posterior cruciate ligament (PCL). The objective of this study was to compare the knee stability and clinical outcomes after single and double bundle (SB and DB) PCL reconstruction. Materials and Methods: A total of 98 patients with PCL injury were enrolled for PCL reconstruction with four-strand semitendinosus and gracilis tendon autograft in the SB technique (n = 65) or two-strand Achilles allograft in the DB technique (n = 33). Each bundle fixation was achieved by the means of femoral Endo Button CL and tibial bioabsorbable interference screw. Demographic data, knee stability, and clinical outcomes were collected for analysis. Results: The SB and DB groups showed comparable demographic data. After a minimum followup interval of 24 months, the data of 59 patients in the SB group and 30 patients in the DB group were analyzed. There was no statistical difference between the SB and DB group in terms of both knee stability and clinical outcomes (P > 0.05). Single-instruction-set architecture (Single-ISA) heterogeneous multi-core processors (HMP) are superior to Symmetric Multi-core processors in performance per watt. They are popular in many aspects of the Internet of Things, including mobile multimedia cloud computing platforms. One Single-ISA HMP integrates both fast out-of-order cores and slow simpler cores, while all cores are sharing the same ISA. The quality of service (QoS) is most important for virtual machine (VM) resource management in multimedia mobile computing, particularly in Single-ISA heterogeneous multi-core cloud computing platforms. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a dynamic cloud resource management (DCRM) policy to improve the QoS in multimedia mobile computing. DCRM dynamically and optimally partitions shared resources according to service or application requirements. Moreover, DCRM combines resource-aware VM allocation to maximize the effectiveness of the heterogeneous multi-core cloud platform. The basic idea for this performance improvement is to balance the shared resource allocations with these resources requirements. The experimental results show that DCRM behaves better in both response time and QoS, thus proving that DCRM is good at shared resource management in mobile media cloud computing. In this paper, we reported a simple and effective strategy to synthesize core-shell dummy template magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers (FeO@DMIPs) using ethyl paraoxon as a template for the recognition and selective extraction of organophosphorus pesticide. Initially, monodisperse FeO nanoparticles were synthesized directly through a facile one-pot hydrothermal method. Then, the imprinted layer was synthesized directly on the surface of the magnetic core by means of a one-pot sol-gel copolymerization which avoided further modification of the external part of the magnetic core. The structure and morphology of the materials (FeO@DMIPs) were characterized by SEM, TEM, FTIR, XRD, and VSM. It was observed that FeO@DMIPs showed regular morphology, good dispersibility, and superparamagnetism. The synthesis conditions for the formation of FeO@DMIPs were systematically investigated. It was found that the morphology and monodispersity of FeO@DMIPs were highly influenced by the ratio of the mixture solvent of methanol and water and the volume ratio of functional monomer (APTES) and cross-linker (TEOS). The binding performance of the imprinted polymers was investigated through a series of adsorption experiments, which indicated that the FeO@DMIPs had a fast adsorption rate (15 min) and high adsorption capacity (195.7 mg g) to methyl parathion and phoxim. Meanwhile, real wine sample tests demonstrated a good extraction effect. This study provides a possibility for the selective extraction of organophosphorus pesticide residue in a complex matrix. Feature-preserving filtering of noisy point clouds plays a fundamental role in geometric processing. Though the guided filter is known to be a powerful tool for edge-aware image processing and mesh denoising, extending it to point clouds is not a trivial task due to the difficulty of defining a piecewise smooth normal field on point clouds with sharp features. Our key idea to address the issue is to assign feature points with multiple normals according to their feature type. Specifically, our approach consists of four stages. It first screens out candidate feature points according to normal variation and then employs the $$l_1$$ -medial skeleton to extract a sharp feature structure. Following that, multiple normals are computed for each feature point by using k-means clustering. It then computes the guidance normals by using a k-nearest neighbor patch whose normals are most consistent. Point positions are finally updated according to the filtered normals. Ti-6Al-4V alloy is widely used in the aeroengine industry due to its excellent comprehensive mechanical properties. In this paper, the droplet transfer behaviours of cold metal transfer (CMT) welding Ti-6Al-4V alloy have been studied by analysing captured electrical waveforms and high-speed images of droplet transfer process. The results indicated that the current and voltage waveforms of CMT welding Ti-6Al-4V alloy are different from that of typical CMT cycle. A current pulse appears in short-circuit phase to adjust energy distributions of different stages, and it results in smoother droplet transfer process. Frequency of droplet transfer increases with augment of wire feed rate or decrease of inductance correction value. The selectivity of an enzyme inhibitor is a key determinant of its usefulness as a tool compound or its safety as a drug. Yet selectivity is never assessed comprehensively in the early stages of the drug discovery process, and only rarely in the later stages, because technical limitations prohibit doing otherwise. Here, we report EnPlex, an efficient, high-throughput method for simultaneously assessing inhibitor potency and specificity, and pilot its application to 96 serine hydrolases. EnPlex analysis of widely used serine hydrolase inhibitors revealed numerous previously unrecognized off-target interactions, some of which may help to explain previously confounding adverse effects. In addition, EnPlex screening of a hydrolase-directed library of boronic acid- and nitrile-containing compounds provided structure-activity relationships in both potency and selectivity dimensions from which lead candidates could be more effectively prioritized. Follow-up of a series of dipeptidyl peptidase 4 inhibitors showed that EnPlex indeed predicted efficacy and safety in animal models. These results demonstrate the feasibility and value of high-throughput, superfamily-wide selectivity profiling and suggest that such profiling can be incorporated into the earliest stages of drug discovery. Film over nanosphere (FON) patterns are formed by depositing a silver film on top of a close-packed polystyrene (PS) sphere template. Multiple localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) peaks are experimentally measured in the three-dimensional FON pattern for thin silver films. Increasing the sphere size in the close-packed template or the deposited silver film thickness red shifts the LSPR peaks to varying degrees. A finite difference time domain analysis reveals that the main LSPR peaks originate from a quadrupole and a dipole coupling mode near the triangle gap surrounded by three adjacent PS spheres.
