The paper is concerned with the problem of stability of a uniformly rotating viscous incompressible self-gravitating liquid bounded by a rotationally symmetric free surface. The effect is studied of a magnetic field with circular lines of force on the capillary instability of the cylindrical interface between two immiscible ferrofluids with different magnetic susceptibilities but equal densities and viscosities. A mathematical model of operation of a fluid (jet) device measuring the liquid or gas flow rate is suggested. Structuring in the form of rotating rings, which has not been observed previously in magnetic fluids, is revealed, and the parameters of these structures are determined. Also, the evolution of vortices in a magnetic fluid layer is traced.
