Dihydromyricetin (DMY) has been encapsulated in delivery systems to address the solubility limitations of DMY in water and improve its bioavailability. Air-assisted electrospinning has been used as a novel technology to load DMY. To evaluate the impact of adding DMY to dextran/zein nanofibers and understand the effects of the Maillard reaction (MR) on the physical and functional properties of DMY-loaded nanofibers, dextran/zein/xylose nanofibers with 0%, 1%, 2%, 3%, and 4% DMY were fabricated, followed by MR crosslinking. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observations indicated that the addition of DMY and the MR did not affect the morphology of the nanofibers. X-ray diffraction (XRD) results indicated amorphous dispersion of DMY within the nanofibers and a decreased crystalline structure within the nanofibers following the MR, which might improve their molecular flexibility. The nanofibrous film formed after the MR exhibited both increased tensile strength and elastic modulus due to hydrogen bonding within the nanofibers and increased elongation at break attributed to the increased amorphization of the structure after crosslinking. The nanofibers were also found to exhibit improved heat stability after the MR. The antioxidant activity of the nanofibers indicated a dose-dependent effect of DMY on radical scavenging activity and reducing power. The maintenance of antioxidant activity of the nanofibers after the MR suggested heat stability of DMY during heat treatment. Overall, dextran/zein nanofibers with various DMY contents exhibited tunable physical properties and effective antioxidant activities, indicating that dextran/zein nanofibers offer a successful DMY delivery system, which can be further applied as an active package. Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) remains a devastating disease with high mortality, and there is a lack of effective strategies to improve functional outcomes. The primary injury of ICH is mechanical damage to brain tissue caused by the hematoma. Secondary injury, resulting from inflammation, red cell lysis, and thrombin production, presents a potential target for therapeutic intervention. Inflammation, crucial in secondary brain injury, involves both cellular and molecular components. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are vital regulators of cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis. Their deregulation may lead to diseases, and modulating miRNA expression has shown therapeutic potential, especially in cancer. Recent studies have implicated miRNAs in the pathogenesis of stroke, affecting endothelial dysfunction, neurovascular integrity, edema, apoptosis, inflammation, and extracellular matrix remodeling. Preclinical and human studies support the use of miRNA-directed gene modulation as a therapeutic strategy for ICH. Our study focused on the effects of miR-195 in ICH models. Neurological tests, including the corner turn and grip tests, indicated that miR-195 treatment led to improvements in motor function impairments caused by ICH. Furthermore, miR-195-5p significantly reduced brain edema in the ipsilateral hemisphere and restored blood–brain barrier (BBB) integrity, as shown by reduced Evans blue dye extravasation. These results suggest miR-195-5p's potential in attenuating ICH-induced apoptosis, possibly related to its influence on MMP-9 and MMP-2 expression, enzymes associated with secondary brain injury. The anti-apoptotic effects of miR-195-5p, demonstrated through TUNEL assays, further underscore its therapeutic promise in addressing the secondary brain injury and apoptosis associated with ICH. In conclusion, miR-195-5p demonstrates a significant neuroprotective effect against ICH-induced neural damage, brain edema, and BBB disruption, primarily through the downregulation of MMP-9 and MMP-2. Simple Summary: Haemaphysalis longicornis is a predominant tick species in East Asia and infests humans, cattle and wildlife. It is also a common vector for pathogen transmission. The microbial community in tick midguts not only affects the transmission of tick-borne pathogens but also indirectly affects the development, metabolism, reproduction, and other physiology of ticks. There have been rare reports on the effects of different types of hosts on the microbial composition of tick midguts. Here, we conducted a midgut microbiome of H. longicornis collected from tiger and deer by high-throughput sequencing and showed that the relative abundance of each bacterium varied greatly at different classification levels. Haemaphysalis longicornis is a common tick species that carries several pathogens. There are few reports on the influence of different hosts on the structure of midgut microflora in H. longicornis. In this study, midgut contents of fully engorged female H. longicornis were collected from the surface of tiger (Panthera tigris) and deer (Dama dama). The bacterial genomic DNA of each sample was extracted, and the V3–V4 regions of the bacterial 16S rRNA were sequenced using the Illumina NovaSeq sequencing. The diversity of the bacterial community of the fully engorged female H. longicornis on the surface of tiger was higher than that of deer. In total, 8 phyla and 73 genera of bacteria annotations were detected in the two groups. At the phylum level, the bacterial phyla common to the two groups were Proteobacteria, Firmicutes, and Actinobacteriota. At the genus level, there were 20 common bacterial genera, among which the relative abundances of Coxiella, Morganella, Diplorickettsia, and Acinetobacter were high. The Morganella species was further identified to be Morganella morganii. The alpha diversity index indicated that the bacterial diversity of the tiger group was higher than that of the deer group. Bacteroidota, Patescibacteria, Desulfobacterota, Verrucomicrobiota, and Cyanobacteria were solely detected in the tiger group. A total of 52 bacterial genera were unique in the tiger group, while one bacterial genus was unique in the deer group. This study indicates that there are differences in the structure of the gut bacteria of the same tick species among different hosts. Numerous studies have shown that the emotional wellbeing of urban populations is influenced by various aspects of urban development, such as social factors and the presence of walkable areas and green spaces. However, there is a lack of research that closely integrates urban design and cognition, particularly in the context of vertical and volumetric urbanism. This disconnect between design and science disciplines is evident when reviewing the limited research on emotional and spatial cognition in this specific urban context. This paper seeks to address that disconnect by proposing a comprehensive framework for the cognitive measurement and modelling of the built environment. This will involve exploring and measuring neural mechanisms, employing electroencephalogram (EEG) equipment to measure user responses in vertical and volumetric public spaces. The aim is to create a foundation for further studies in this field that is consistent and rigorous and can facilitate collaboration with cognitive neuroscientists by establishing a shared conceptual basis. The goal of this research is to develop a human-centric approach for urban design that is scientific and measurable, producing a set of urban design guidelines that incorporate cognitive measurement and modelling, with the broader intention to prioritize human needs and wellbeing within urban environments to make them more liveable. Employing multi-stage fracturing technology in horizontally accessed wells is a well-known way to successfully develop shale reservoirs. The interaction between natural fractures and hydraulic fractures has a significant impact on the fracturing effect. In this study, a coupled model of rock deformation and fluid flow was established using the cohesive zone method to simulate the propagation of hydraulic fractures under the synergistic effect of natural fractures and wellbore interference. The influence of in situ stress, fracture spacing, the number of fracture clusters, and the fracturing methods on the formation of fracture networks was analyzed. Studies on the fracture morphology and connectivity of fracture networks show that when the in situ stress difference is small, multiple fractures can easily form, and when the in situ stress difference is large, they can easily gather into a single fracture. An excessive reduction in fracture spacing may impede the optimal propagation and interconnection of hydraulic fractures. The findings reveal that augmenting the fracture spacing from 5 m to 8 m results in a significant 15.59% increase in the overall extent of fracture propagation. Moreover, it also adds to the complexity of the fracture network. Increasing the number of hydraulic fracturing clusters can improve the fracture length and fracture propagation complexity. When the number of fracturing clusters increased from two clusters to five clusters, the maximum fracture propagation width increased by 25.23%. Comparing sequential fracturing and simultaneous fracturing, the results show that simultaneous fracturing can form a more complex fracture network with better connectivity, which is conducive to increasing oil and gas production. At present, many methods are used to determine the lower limits of physical properties (PPLLs) of tight sandstone reservoirs, such as empirical statistics, oil occurrence, and logging parameter crossplots, but the accuracy with which these methods obtain the lower limit of physical properties depends entirely on the number of test production data, and they are not suitable for tight sandstone reservoirs with a low degree of exploration and a lack of prediction. Compared to these mature methods, it can be concluded that the water-film-thickness-based method, which integrates factors such as formation temperature, formation pressure, mineral wettability, and formation water salinity, can characterize PPLLs using the minimum pore throat radius for hydrocarbon migration, which has a better theoretical basis and technical advantages. However, the water-film thickness is not a fixed value and cannot be directly measured in the laboratory. The molecular simulation method, known as a computational microscope, has become an effective means of investigating nano effects. By accurately investigating the interactions between rock minerals and the formation of water on atomic and molecular scales based on increasingly improved studies of the molecular force field, this method can overcome the deficiencies of the laboratory study of water films and precisely characterize the water films' thickness. The intersection of molecular simulation and geology can bring about new methods and new research ideas for determining the lower limit of the physical properties of tight sandstone reservoirs and has broad application prospects. 5-FU-based chemoradiotherapy (CRT) and oxaliplatin-based CRT are commonly used therapies for advanced colorectal cancer (CRC). However, patients with a high expression of ERCC1 have a worse prognosis than those with a low expression. In this study, we investigated the effect of XPF–ERCC1 blockers on chemotherapy and 5-FU-based CRT and oxaliplatin (OXA)-based CRT in colorectal cancer cell lines. We investigated the half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) of 5-FU, OXA, XPF–ERCC1 blocker, and XPF–ERCC1 blocker, and 5-FU or OXA combined and analyzed the effect of XPF–ERCC1 blocker on 5-FU-based CRT and oxaliplatin-based CRT. Furthermore, the expression of XPF and γ-H2AX in colorectal cells was analyzed. In animal models, we combined the XPF–ERCC1 blocker with 5-FU and OXA to investigate the effects of RC and finally combined the XPF–ERCC1 blocker with 5-FU- and oxaliplatin-based CRT. In the IC50 analysis of each compound, the cytotoxicity of the XPF–ERCC1 blocker was lower than that of 5-FU and OXA. In addition, the XPF–ERCC1 blocker combined with 5-FU or OXA enhanced the cytotoxicity of the chemotherapy drugs in colorectal cells. Furthermore, the XPF–ERCC1 blocker also increased the cytotoxicity of 5-FU-based CRT and OXA -based CRT by inhibiting the XPF product DNA locus. In vivo, the XPF–ERCC1 blocker was confirmed to enhance the therapeutic efficacy of 5-FU, OXA, 5-FU-based CRT, and OXA CRT. These findings show that XPF–ERCC1 blockers not only increase the toxicity of chemotherapy drugs but also increase the efficacy of combined chemoradiotherapy. We evaluated the reading characteristics of normal-sighted young adults using C-Read to provide baseline healthy population values. We also investigated the relationship between the National Eye Institute's Visual Functioning Questionnaire (VFQ-25) score and reading ability, myopia, and hours of screen use, focusing on the extent to which these factors affect participants' visual function and, ultimately, their vision-related quality of life (QoL). Overall, 207 young, healthy participants (414 eyes) aged 18–35 years were tested for reading speed using C-Read connected to a smartphone-based application between December 2022 and January 2023. Each participant received a VFQ-25 questionnaire to evaluate vision-related QoL. Data on daily e-screen usage hours were collected. Among the participants, 91 (44.0%) were women; their mean (SD) age was 22.45 (4.01) years. The mean (SD) reading acuity (RA) was 0.242 (0.124), 0.249 (0.120), and 0.193 (0.104) logarithmic minimum angle of resolution (logMAR) for the right, left, and both eyes, respectively. The mean (SD) maximum reading speed (MRS) was 171.65 (46.27), 168.59 (45.68), and 185.16 (44.93) words per minute (wpm) with the right, left, and both eyes, respectively. The mean (SD) critical print size (CPS) was 0.412 (0.647), 0.371 (0.229), and 0.419 (1.05) logMAR per the right, left, and both eyes, respectively. The RA and CPS were significantly different between sexes (p = 0.002 and p = 0.001). MRS was significantly different between the education level (p = 0.005) and myopia level groups (p = 0.010); however, it was not clear whether this difference was confounded by age. The myopic power in diopters significantly affected RA (coefficient, −0.012; 95% CI, −0.018 to −0.006; p = 0.001); screen time significantly affected MRS (coefficient, 0.019; 95% CI, 0.57 to 6.33; p = 0.019). RA (coefficient, −21.41; 95% CI, −33.74 to −9.08; p = 0.001) and duration of screen use (coefficient, -0.86; 95% CI, −1.29 to −0.43; p < 0.001) independently had a significantly negative correlation with VFQ-25 scores. Our findings provide a baseline value for C-Read in normal-sighted young adults. Refractive status significantly affected RA, while screen time significantly affected MRS. Interventions aimed at enhancing RA may have the potential to maximize vision-related QoL and enable older adults with impaired vision to achieve greater outcomes. Myopic retinopathy is an important cause of irreversible vision loss and blindness. As metabolomics has recently been successfully applied in myopia research, this study sought to characterize the serum metabolic profile of myopic retinopathy in children and adolescents (4–18 years) and to develop a diagnostic model that combines clinical and metabolic features. We selected clinical and serum metabolic data from children and adolescents at different time points as the training set (n = 516) and the validation set (n = 60). All participants underwent an ophthalmologic examination. Untargeted metabolomics analysis of serum was performed. Three machine learning (ML) models were trained by combining metabolic features and conventional clinical factors that were screened for significance in discrimination. The better-performing model was validated in an independent point-in-time cohort and risk nomograms were developed. Retinopathy was present in 34.2% of participants (n = 185) in the training set, including 109 (28.61%) with mild to moderate myopia. A total of 27 metabolites showed significant variation between groups. After combining Lasso and random forest (RF), 12 modelled metabolites (mainly those involved in energy metabolism) were screened. Both the logistic regression and extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) algorithms showed good discriminatory ability. In the time-validation cohort, logistic regression (AUC 0.842, 95% CI 0.724–0.96) and XGBoost (AUC 0.897, 95% CI 0.807–0.986) also showed good prediction accuracy and had well-fitted calibration curves. Three clinical characteristic coefficients remained significant in the multivariate joint model (p < 0.05), as did 8/12 metabolic characteristic coefficients. Myopic retinopathy may have abnormal energy metabolism. Machine learning models based on metabolic profiles and clinical data demonstrate good predictive performance and facilitate the development of individual interventions for myopia in children and adolescents. B and T lymphocyte attenuator (BTLA) is an immune checkpoint molecule that mediates the escape of tumor cells from immunosurveillance. Consequently, BTLA and its ligand herpesvirus entry mediator (HVEM) are potentially immunotherapeutic targets. However, the potential effects of BTLA on tumor cells remain incompletely unknown. Here, we show that BTLA is expressed across a broad range of tumor cells. The depletion of BTLA or HVEM promotes cell proliferation and colony formation, which is reversed by the overexpression of BTLA in BTLA knockout cells. In contrast, overexpression of BTLA or HVEM inhibits tumor cell proliferation and colony formation. Furthermore, the proliferation of a subpopulation with high BTLA was also significantly slower than that of the low BTLA subpopulation. Mechanistically, the coordination of BTLA and HVEM inhibits its major downstream extracellular regulated protein kinase (ERK1/2) signaling pathway, thus preventing tumor cell growth. This study demonstrates that tumor cell-intrinsic BTLA/HVEM is a potential tumor suppressor and is likely to have a potential antagonist for immunotherapy, thus representing a potential biomarker for the optimal cancer immunotherapeutic treatment. The dispersibility of flexible polymer chains present at the emulsion's interface between the dispersed and continuous phase has obvious effects on rheology and dielectric properties of the whole emulsion. Cellulose nanofiber (CNF)-based Pickering emulsions are good systems to research these properties with respect to their microscopic phase structure, dielectric, and rheological properties by using CNF as a water-dispersible Pickering emulsifier, liquid paraffin as an oil phase, and didodecyldimethylammonium bromide (DDAB) as a cationic auxiliary surfactant. The CNF and DDAB contents were systematically varied while the water-to-paraffin oil ratio was kept constant to discern the influence of the Pickering emulsifiers. Polarized optical microscopic images reveal that the droplets tend to shrink at higher CNF content but grow bigger when increasing the DDAB content, which is proved by fluorescence analysis of the CNF dispersibility with varying DDAB content. The dielectric damping exhibits a minimum, whose value decreases with increasing DDAB and CNF content. Increasing the DDAB content promotes the solubilization of CNF in the aqueous phase, which will increase the overall viscosity and yield points. Similarly, a higher CNF content leads to a higher viscosity and yield point, but at high DDAB contents, the viscosity function exhibits an S-shape at intermediate CNF contents. To evaluate the results further, they were compared with CNF dispersions (without oil phase), which showed a surfactant effect slightly on maximum stress but strongly on yield stress τ y , indicating that DDAB can promote the formation of a CNF network rather than the viscosity of the whole system. Simple Summary: The 20–30% of locally advanced rectal cancer patients undergoing preoperative concurrent chemoradiotherapy had no expected efficacy, and ERCC1 overexpression was found in these tumor tissue patients. In the interest of confirming and adding details to our understanding of that correlation, The Tet-on gene expression system was used to examine ERCC1 functionality and stability. Our data from regulatable HCT116-Tet-on and COLO205-Tet-on cell lines verified the increased radioresistance in colorectal cancer cells that are associated with ERCC1 overexpression, and they confirmed a high correlation between ERCC1 levels and radiotherapeutic efficiency. Furthermore, overexpression of ERCC1 also increases cell migration under radiation exposure. Additional data from ERCC1 expression regulation in vivo confirmed that the overexpression of increased cancer radiation resistance suggests that ERCC1 expression plays a key role. Preoperative concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) is a standard treatment for locally advanced rectal cancer patients, but 20–30% do not benefit from the desired therapeutic effects. Previous reports indicate that high levels of ERCC1 reduce the effectiveness of cisplatin-based CCRT; however, it remains unclear as to whether ERCC1 overexpression increases radiation resistance. To clarify the correlation between ERCC1 levels and radiation (RT) resistance, we established two cell lines (HCT116-Tet-on and COLO205-Tet-on), induced them to overexpress ERCC1, detected cell survival following exposure to radiation, established HCT116-Tet-on and COLO205-Tet-on heterotopic cancer animal models, and detected tumor volume following exposure to radiation. We found that ERCC1 overexpression increased radiation resistance. After regulating ERCC1 levels and radiation exposure to verify the correlation, we noted that increased radiation resistance was dependent on ERCC1 upregulation in both cell lines. For further verification, we exposed HCT116-Tet-on and COLO205-Tet-on heterotopic cancer animal models to radiation and observed that ERCC1 overexpression increased colorectal cancer tumor radioresistance in both. The primary cause of breast cancer mortality is the metastatic invasion of cancerous stem cells (CSC). Cluster of differentiation 44 (CD44) is a well-known CSC marker in various cancers, as well as a key role player in metastasis and relapse of breast cancer. CD44 is a cell-membrane embedded protein, and it interacts with different proteins to regulate cancer cell behavior. Transcription factor forkhead box protein A2 (FOXA2) acts as an important regulator in multiple cancers, including breast cancer. However, the biological significance of CD44-FOXA2 association in breast cancer metastasis remains unclear. Herein, we observed that CD44 expression was higher in metastatic lymph nodes compared to primary tumors using a flow cytometric analysis. CD44 overexpression in breast cancer cell lines significantly promoted cell migration and invasion abilities, whereas the opposite effects occurred upon the knockdown of CD44. The stem cell array analysis revealed that FOXA2 expression was upregulated in CD44 knockdown cells. However, the knockdown of FOXA2 in CD44 knockdown cells reversed the effects on cell migration and invasion. Furthermore, we found that CD44 mediated FOXA2 localization in breast cancer cells through the AKT pathway. Moreover, the immunofluorescence assay demonstrated that AKT inhibitor wortmannin and AKT activator SC79 treatment in breast cancer cells impacted FOXA2 localization. The software-assisted reliability assessment of power electronic converters is increasingly important due to its multi-domain nature and extensive parametric calculations. The rainflow counting algorithm is gaining popularity for its low relative error in device lifetime estimation. Nevertheless, the offline operation of the algorithm prevents most simulation software packages considering other parameters for the device under study, such as aging and the current state of health in the estimation, as it requires a complete loading profile to run recursive comparison. This also brings difficulties in realization in circuit simulators such as SPICE. To tackle the issue, an in-the-loop circuit-based rainflow counting algorithm is proposed in this paper, and applied to estimate the consumed lifetime of the MOSFET in a boost converter for illustration. Instantaneous electrical and thermal performances, and the accumulated stress of the device can be monitored. Not only does this assist in evaluating the state of health of a device, but also allows the possibility of integrating the aging into the lifetime evaluation. The method follows the four-point rainflow counting algorithms, which continuously compares three adjacent temperature fluctuations Δ T j to select full cycles for two rounds, and the remaining cycles are counted as half cycles. To validate the performance, a comparative analysis in terms of counting accuracy and simulation speed was performed alongside the proposed method, MATLAB® and also with a well-accepted half-cycle counting method. Reported results show that the proposed method has an improved counting accuracy compared to the half-cycle counting from 24% to 3.5% on average under different load stresses and length conditions. The linear Doppler effect has been widely used to detect the translational motion of objects. However, it suffers difficulties in measuring the angular motion of a rotating target. In recent years, the rotational Doppler effect based on a vortex beam has been helpful to solve the problem of rotational measurement and has attracted extensive attention in remote sensing. This paper expounds the theoretical and experimental basis of the rotational Doppler effect and briefly summarizes its development for the detection of macro and micro targets. Specifically, the properties and analysis methods of a rotational Doppler shift when the vortex beam is misaligned with the rotation axis are described in detail. In nature, many different factors cause plants to develop variegated leaves. To explore the mechanism of variegated leaf formation in Pteroceltis tatarinowii, a mutant variety ('Jinyuyuan'), which was induced by ethylmethylsulfone, was selected, and its morphological structure, physiology, biochemistry, transcription and metabolism were analysed. According to differences in colour values, the colours were divided into two regions: a green region and a yellow-green region. The chlorophyll content of the two regions was significantly different. Moreover, the yellow-green regions of the leaves were significantly thinner than the green regions. The chloroplast ultrastructure in the yellow-green region revealed small chloroplasts, large vacuoles, small starch grains, obviously increased numbers of osmophilic grains, loose lamellae of the inner capsule and thin lamellae. Moreover, the yellow-green region was accompanied by oxidative stress, and the activity of the oxidative phosphorylation pathway related to oxidative activity in the transcriptome showed an upward trend. Vitamin B6 and proline contents also increased, indicating that the antioxidant activity of cells in the yellow-green region increased. Transcriptomic and metabolomic analysis showed that the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) related to chlorophyll synthesis and metabolism led to a decrease in the photosynthesis and then a decrease in the assimilation ability and contents of sucrose, starch and other assimilates. Amino acid synthesis and metabolism, lipid synthesis and the activity of metabolic pathways were obviously downregulated, and the contents of differentially accumulated metabolites associated with amino acids and lipids were also reduced. At the same time, 31 out of 32 DEGs involved in the flavonoid synthesis pathway were downregulated, which affected leaf colour. We hypothesized that the variegated leaves of P. tatarinowii 'Jinyuyuan' are caused by transcriptional and post-transcriptional regulation. The vector optical beam with longitudinally varying polarization during propagation in free space has attracted significant attention in recent years. Compared with traditional vector optical beams with inhomogeneous distribution of polarization in the transverse plane, manipulating the longitudinal distribution of polarization provides a new dimension for the expansion of the applications of vector optical beams in volume laser machining, longitudinal detection, and in vivo micromanipulation. Two theoretical strategies for achieving this unique optical beam are presented in the way of constructing the longitudinally varying phase difference and amplitude difference. Relevant generation methods are reviewed which can be divided into the modulation of complex amplitude in real space and the filtering of the spatial spectrum. In relation to power converter design, power density is increasing while the form factor is decreasing. This trend generally reduces the rate of the cooling process, which increases the mutual thermal coupling among the surrounding power components. Most of the traditional models usually ignore the mutual effects or just focus on the conduction coupling. To deal with these factors, the thermal modeling for a boost converter system has been built to compare the junction temperatures (Tj) and the increments under different working conditions in order to consider the conduction coupling. A multi-variable thermal resistances model is proposed in this paper to incorporate the convection thermal coupling into the mutual thermal effects. The coupling resistances, MOSFET to the diode ( R cp- MD ⇀ ), and the diode to MOSFET ( R cp- DM ⇀ ) have been calculated and the relationships between coupling resistances and their impact factors (separation distances and working currents) have been discussed. New case temperatures (Tc) obtained by calculation and additional measurements at other separation distances serve to verify the efficacy of the proposed model. This model enhances the current thermal models and provides an effective method to calculate the thermal coupling resistances which can be used to estimate the Tj. A mycelial culture of the Kenyan basidiomycete Fomitiporia aethiopica was fermented on rice and the cultures were extracted with methanol. Subsequent HPLC profiling and preparative chromatography of its crude extract led to the isolation of five previously undescribed pregnenolone type triterpenes 1–5, for which we propose the trivial name aethiopinolones A–E. The chemical structures of the aethiopinolones were determined by extensive 1D- and 2D-NMR, and HRMS data analysis. This review focuses on the growth of high-quality (Li1-xFex)OHFeSe single crystals by a hydrothermal method using floating-zone-grown AxFe2-ySe2 (A = K, Rb, and Cs) as precursors. The structure, superconductivity, and magnetic behavior of the obtained crystals are highly influenced by the growth conditions, such as time, temperature, and composition. A photoactivated gas detector operated at room temperature was microfabricated using a simple hydrothermal method. We report that the photoactivated gas detector can detect toluene using a UV illumination of 2 μW/cm². By ultraviolet (UV) illumination, gas detectors sense toluene at room temperature without heating. A significant enhancement of detector sensitivity is achieved because of the high surface-area-to-volume ratio of the morphology of the coral-like ZnO nanorods arrays (NRAs) and the increased number of photo-induced oxygen ions under UV illumination. The corresponding sensitivity (ΔR/R0) of the detector based on coral-like ZnO NRAs is enhanced by approximately 1022% compared to that of thin-film detectors. The proposed detector greatly extends the dynamic range of detection of metal-oxide-based detectors for gas sensing applications. In this work, deionized (DI) water dissociation was used to treat and change the contact angle of the surface of stainless steel substrates followed by the spin coating of P(VDF-TrFE) material for the fabrication of tactile sensors. The contact angle of the stainless steel surface decreased 14° at -30 V treatment; thus, the adhesion strength between the P(VDF-TrFE) thin film and the stainless steel substrate increased by 90%. Although the adhesion strength was increased at negative voltage treatment, it is observed that the crystallinity value of the P(VDF-TrFE) thin film declined to 37% at -60 V. In addition, the remanent polarization value of the P(VDF-TrFE) thin film declined from 5.6 µC/cm² to 4.61 µC/cm² for treatment voltages between -5 V and -60 V. A maximum value of approximately 1000 KV/cm of the coercive field value was obtained with the treatment at -15 V. The d33 value was approximately -10.7 pC/N for the substrate treated at 0 V and reached a minimum of -5 pC/N for treatment at -60 V. By using the P(VDF-TrFE) thin-film as the sensing material for tactile sensors, human pulse measurements were obtained from areas including the carotid, brachial, ankle, radial artery, and apical regions. In addition, the tactile sensor is suitable for monitoring the Cun, Guan, and Chi acupoints located at the radial artery region in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). In this study, electron beam lithography, rather than the most popular method, chemical synthesis, is used to construct periodical TiO2 nanowires for a gas sensor with both robust and rapid performance. The effects of temperature on the sensing response and reaction time are analyzed at various operation temperatures ranging from 200 to 350 °C. At the optimized temperature of 300 °C, the proposed sensor repeatedly obtained a rise/recovery time (?R: 0.9 R0 to 0.1 R0) of 3.2/17.5 s and a corresponding sensor response (?R/R0) of 21.7% at an ethanol injection mass quantity of 0.2 µg. This study investigates the antecedents of environmentally responsible behaviour by creating a theoretical model of relationships between service quality, place attachment and environmentally responsible behaviour. A questionnaire survey was conducted among tourists who visited six famous tourist attractions in Shaanxi, China. The results of the research demonstrate that service quality exerts influence on environmentally responsible behaviour and place attachment in a positive manner. Additionally, the findings suggest that place attachment affects environmentally responsible behaviour in a direct and positive manner. Moreover, it is also found that service quality strengthens its effect on environmentally responsible behaviour through place attachment, indicating the mediating role of place attachment in the link between service quality and environmentally responsible behaviour. The current research contributes to tourism literature in that it helps to better understand the tourists' environmentally responsible behaviour and provides management with evidence of the significance for improving the service quality at tourist attractions. Humira is a monoclonal antibody that binds to TNF alpha, inactivates TNF alpha receptors, and inhibits inflammation. Neonatal Fc receptors can mediate the transcytosis of Humira–TNF alpha complex structures and process them toward degradation pathways, which reduces the therapeutic effect of Humira. Allowing the Humira–TNF alpha complex structures to dissociate to Humira and soluble TNF alpha in the early endosome to enable Humira recycling is crucial. We used the cytoplasmic pH (7.4), the early endosomal pH (6.0), and pKa of histidine side chains (6.0–6.4) to mutate the residues of complementarity-determining regions with histidine. Our engineered Humira (W1-Humira) can bind to TNF alpha in plasma at neutral pH and dissociate from the TNF alpha in the endosome at acidic pH. We used the constant-pH molecular dynamics, Gaussian accelerated molecular dynamics, two-dimensional potential mean force profiles, and in vitro methods to investigate the characteristics of W1-Humira. Our results revealed that the proposed Humira can bind TNF alpha with pH-dependent affinity in vitro. The W1-Humira was weaker than wild-type Humira at neutral pH in vitro, and our prediction results were close to the in vitro results. Furthermore, our approach displayed a high accuracy in antibody pH-dependent binding characteristics prediction, which may facilitate antibody drug design. Neolitsea acuminatissima (Lauraceae) is an endemic plant in Taiwan. One new carboline alkaloid, demethoxydaibucarboline A (1), two new eudesmanolide-type sesquiterpenes, methyl-neolitacumone A (2), neolitacumone E (3), and twelve known compounds (4–15) were isolated from the root of Neolitsea acuminatissima. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis. Glucuronidation represents a major metabolism process of detoxification for carcinogens in the liver. However, intestinal bacterial β-Glucuronidase (βG) has been considered pivotal to colorectal carcinogenesis. To develop specific bacterial-βG inhibitors with no effect on human βG, methanolic extract of roots of N. acuminatissima was selected to evaluate their anti-βG activity. Among the isolates, demethoxydaibucarboline A (1) and quercetin (8) showed a strong bacterial βG inhibitory effect with an inhibition ratio of about 80%. Methylneolitacumone A (2) and epicatechin (10) exhibited a moderate or weak inhibitory effect and the enzyme activity was less than 45% and 74%, respectively. These four compounds specifically inhibit bacterial βG but not human βG. Thus, they are expected to be used for the purpose of reducing chemotherapy-induced diarrhea (CID). The results suggest that the constituents of N. acuminatissima have the potential to be used as CID relief candidates. Pre-existing antibodies that bind polyethylene glycol are present in about 40% of healthy individuals. It is currently unknown if pre-existing anti-polyethylene glycol (PEG) antibodies can alter the bioactivity of pegylated drugs with a single long PEG chain, which represents the majority of newly developed pegylated medicines. Methoxy polyethylene glycol-epoetin beta (PEG-EPO) contains a single 30 kDa PEG chain and is used to treat patients suffering from anemia. We find that the pre-existing human anti-PEG IgM and IgG antibodies from normal donors can bind to PEG-EPO. The prevalence and concentrations of anti-PEG IgM and IgG antibodies were also higher in patients that responded poorly to PEG-EPO. Monoclonal anti-PEG IgM and IgG antibodies at concentrations found in normal donors blocked the biological activity of PEG-EPO to stimulate the production of new erythrocytes in mice and accelerated the clearance of 125I-PEG-EPO, resulting in PEG-EPO accumulation primarily in the liver and spleen. Accelerated clearance by the anti-PEG IgG antibody was mediated by the Fc portion of the antibody. Importantly, infusing higher doses of PEG-EPO could compensate for the inhibitory effects of anti-PEG antibodies, suggesting that pre-existing anti-PEG antibodies can be "dosed through." Our study indicates that the bioactivity and therapeutic activity of PEG-EPO may be reduced in patients with elevated levels of pre-existing anti-PEG antibodies.
