In this paper, we introduce a version of the Moebius function and other special functions on a particular class of intervals for groupoids, and study them to obtain results analogous to those obtained in the usual lattice, combinatorics and number theory setting, but of course much more general due to the viewpoint taken in this paper.

In this paper, we discuss the existence of solutions to a boundary value problem of differential equations of variable order, which is a piecewise constant function. Our results are based on the Schauder fixed point theorem. Then, under some assumptions on the nonlinear term, we obtain a generalized Lyapunov-type inequality to the two-point boundary value problem considered. To the best of our knowledge, there is no paper dealing with Lyapunov-type inequalities for boundary value problems in term of variable order. In addition, some examples of the obtained inequalities are given.

This paper deals with the initial-value problem for the linearized equations of coupled sound and heat flow, in a bounded domain Ω in RN, with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. Existence and uniqueness of solutions to the problem are established by using the Hille-Yosida theorem. This paper gives a simpler proof than one by Carasso (1975). Moreover, regularity of solutions is established.

In this paper, we develop a rumor spreading model by introducing white noise into the model. We establish sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of an ergodic stationary distribution of the positive solutions to the stochastic model by constructing a suitable stochastic Lyapunov function, which provides us a good description of persistence. Finally, we provide some numerical simulations to illustrate the analytical results.

To avoid singular generalized Jacobian matrix and further accelerate the convergence of the generalized Newton (GN) iteration method for solving generalized absolute value equations Ax - B|x| = b, in this paper we propose a new relaxed generalized Newton (RGN) iteration method by introducing a relaxation iteration parameter. The new RGN iteration method involves the well-known GN iteration method and the Picard iteration method as special cases. Theoretical analyses show that the RGN iteration method is well defined and globally linearly convergent under suitable conditions. In addition, a specific sufficient condition is studied when the coefficient matrix A is symmetric positive definite. Finally, two numerical experiments arising from the linear complementarity problems are used to illustrate the effectiveness of the new RGN iteration method.

This paper gropes the stability and Hopf bifurcation of a delayed synthetic drug transmission model with two stages of addiction and Holling Type-II functional response. The critical point at which a Hopf bifurcation occurs can be figured out by using the escalating time delay of psychologically addicts as a bifurcation parameter. Directly afterwards, properties of the Hopf bifurcation are explored with aid of the central manifold theorem and normal form theory. Specially, global stability of the model is proved by constructing a suitable Lyapunov function. To underline effectiveness of the obtained results and analyze influence of some influential parameters on dynamics of the model, some numerical simulations are ultimately addressed.

This paper is concerned to establish an advanced form of the well-known Hermite-Hadamard (HH) inequality for recently-defined Generalized Conformable (GC) fractional operators. This form of the HH inequality combines various versions (new and old) of this inequality, containing operators of the types Katugampula, Hadamard, Riemann-Liouville, conformable and Riemann, into a single form. Moreover, a novel identity containing the new GC fractional integral operators is proved. By using this identity, a bound for the absolute of the difference between the two rightmost terms in the newly-established Hermite-Hadamard inequality is obtained. Also, some relations of our results with the already existing results are presented. Conclusion and future works are presented in the last section.

In this paper, we investigate the global properties of two general models of pathogen infection with immune deficiency. Both pathogen-to-cell and cell-to-cell transmissions are considered. Latently infected cells are included in the second model. We show that the solutions are nonnegative and bounded. Lyapunov functions are organized to prove the global asymptotic stability for uninfected and infected steady states of the models. Analytical expressions for the basic reproduction number $\mathcal{R}_{0}$ and the necessary condition under which the uninfected and infected steady states are globally asymptotically stable are established. We prove that if $\mathcal{R}_{0}$ < 1 then the uninfected steady state is globally asymptotically stable (GAS), and if $\mathcal{R}_{0}$ > 1 then the infected steady state is GAS. Numerical simulations are performed and used to support the analytical results.

Recently, Hoang and Egbelowo (Boletin de la Sociedad Matematica Mexicana, 2020) proposed a nonstandard finite difference scheme (NSFD) to get a discrete SIR epidemic model with saturated incidence rate and constant vaccination. The discrete model was derived by discretizing the right-hand sides of the system locally and the first order derivative is approximated by the generalized forward difference method but with a restrictive denominator function. Their analysis showed that the NSFD scheme is dynamically-consistent only for relatively small time-step sizes. In this paper, we propose and analyze an alternative NSFD scheme by applying nonlocal approximation and choosing the denominator function such that the proposed scheme preserves the boundedness of solutions. It is verified that the proposed discrete model is dynamically-consistent with the corresponding continuous model for all time-step size. The analytical results have been confirmed by some numerical simulations. We also show numerically that the proposed NSFD scheme is superior to the Euler method and the NSFD method proposed by Hoang and Egbelowo (2020).

In this paper, we study the existence of square-mean asymptotically almost periodic mild solutions for a class of second order nonautonomous stochastic evolution equations in Hilbert spaces. By using the principle of Banach contractive mapping principle, the existence and uniqueness of square-mean asymptotically almost periodic mild solutions of the equation are obtained. To illustrate the abstract result, a concrete example is given.

Finite time stability involving dynamical systems whose trajectories converge to a Lyapunov stable equilibrium state in finite time have been studied for both continuous-time and discrete-time systems. For continuous-time systems, finite time stability is defined for equilibria of continuous but non-Lipschitzian nonlinear dynamics, whereas discrete-time systems can exhibit finite time stability even when the system dynamics are linear, and hence, Lipschitz continuous. Alternatively, for impulsive dynamical systems it may be possible to reset the system states to an equilibrium state achieving finite time stability without requiring a non-Lipschitz condition for the continuous-time part of the hybrid system dynamics. In this paper, we develop sufficient Lyapunov conditions for finite time stability of impulsive dynamical systems using both a scalar differential Lyapunov inequality on the continuous-time dynamics as well as a scalar difference Lyapunov inequality on the discrete-time resetting dynamics. Furthermore, using our proposed finite time stability results, we design universal hybrid finite time stabilizing control laws for impulsive dynamical systems. Finally, we present several numerical examples for finite time stabilization of network impulsive dynamical systems.

The boundedness of singular and fractional integral operator on Lebesgue and Hardy spaces have been well studied. The theory of Herz space and Herz type Hardy space, as a local version of Lebesgue and Hardy space, have been developed. The main purpose of this paper is to establish the endpoint continuity properties of some multilinear operators related to certain non-convolution type fractional singular integral operators on Herz and Herz type Hardy spaces and the endpoint estimates for the multilinear operators on Herz and Herz type Hardy spaces are obtained.

In this paper, we establish an averaging principle on the infinite time intervals for semilinear stochastic ordinary differential equations with Levy noise. In particular, under suitable conditions we prove that if the coefficients are Poisson stable (including periodic, quasi-periodic, almost periodic, almost automorphic etc), then there exists a unique $ \mathcal L^2 $-bounded solution of the original equation, which inherits the recurrence property of the coefficients, and the recurrent solution uniformly converges to the stationary solution of the averaged equation on the whole real axis in distribution sense.

In this paper, using the power series expansions of $ (\tan x)^{k}(k = 1, 2, 3) $ and the monotonicity of a function involving the Riemann's zeta function, we sharpen the quadratic estimations of Shafer's inequalities which is refined by Nishizawa [ 5 ].

In this paper, an inverse problem is considered for Dirac equations with boundary and transmission conditions eigenvalue depending as rational function of Herglotz-Nevanlinna. We give some spectral properties of the problem and also it is shown that the coefficients of the problem are uniquely determined by Weyl function and by classical spectral data made up of eigenvalues and norming constants.

In this paper, we have used two different proof techniques to show the Hamilton-connectedness of graphs. By using the vertex connectivity and Hamiltoniancity of graphs, we construct an infinite family of Hamilton-connected convex polytope line graphs whose underlying family of convex polytopes is not Hamilton-connected. By definition, we constructed two more infinite families of Hamilton-connected convex polytopes. As a by-product of our results, we compute exact values of the detour index of the families of Hamilton-connected convex polytopes. Finally, we classify the Platonic solids according to their Hamilton-connectedness and Hamilton-laceability properties.

Dynamic cumulative residual entropy is a recent measure of uncertainty which plays a substantial role in reliability and survival studies. This article comes up with Bayesian estimation of the dynamic cumulative residual entropy of Pareto Ⅱ distribution in case of non-informative and informative priors. The Bayesian estimator and the corresponding credible interval are obtained under squared error, linear exponential (LINEX) and precautionary loss functions. The Metropolis-Hastings algorithm is employed to generate Markov chain Monte Carlo samples from the posterior distribution. A simulation study is done to implement and compare the accuracy of considered estimates in terms of their relative absolute bias, estimated risk and the width of credible intervals. Regarding the outputs of simulation study, Bayesian estimate of dynamic cumulative residual entropy under LINEX loss function is preferable than the other estimates in most of situations. Further, the estimated risks of dynamic cumulative residual entropy decrease as the value of estimated entropy decreases. Eventually, inferential procedure developed in this paper is illustrated via a real data.

Integral inequalities play a key role in applied and theoretical mathematics. The purpose of inequalities is to develop mathematical techniques in analysis. The goal of this paper is to develop a fractional integral operator having a non-singular function (generalized multi-index Bessel function) as a kernel and then to obtain some significant inequalities like Hermit Hadamard Mercer inequality, exponentially $ (s-m) $-preinvex inequalities, Polya-Szego and Chebyshev type integral inequalities with the newly developed fractional operator. These results describe in general behave and provide the extension of fractional operator theory (FOT) in inequalities.

In this paper, we establish new Lyapunov-type inequalities for a Hadamard fractional differential equation under Sturm-Liouville boundary conditions. Our conclusions cover many results in the literature.

In this paper, the reproducing kernel Hilbert space method had been extended to model a numerical solution with two-point temporal boundary conditions for the fractional derivative in the Caputo sense, convergent analysis and error bounds are discussed to verify the theoretical results. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the accuracy and efficiency of the presented approach.

The reaction-diffusion Gierer-Meinhardt system in one dimensional bounded domain is considered in the present paper. The Hopf bifurcation is investigated, which is found to be degenerate. With the aid of Maple, the normal form associated with the degenerate Hopf bifurcation is obtained to determinate the existence of Bautin bifurcation. We get the universal unfolding for the Bautin bifurcation so that we can identify the stability of periodic solutions. Then, the existence of the codimension-two Turing-Hopf bifurcation is further investigated. To research the spatiotemporal dynamics of the model near the Turing-Hopf bifurcation point, the method of the multiple time scale analysis is adopted to derive the amplitude equations. It is noted that the Gierer-Meinhardt model may show the spatial, temporal or the spatiotemporal patterns, such as the nonconstant steady state, spatially homogeneous periodic solutions and the spatially inhomogeneous periodic solutions. Finally, some numerical simulations are presented to demonstrate the applicability of the theoretical results.

The main purpose of this paper is using analytic methods to give a recurrence formula of the number of solutions of an equation over finite field. We use analytic methods to give a recurrence formula for the number of solutions of the above equation. And our method is based on the properties of the Gauss sum. It is worth noting that we used a novel method to simplify the steps and avoid complicated calculations.

In this paper, we prove a generalization of Walker's inequality in acute (non-obtuse) triangles by using Euler's inequality, Ciamberlini's inequality and a result due to the author, from which a number of corollaries are obtained. We also present three conjectured inequalities involving sides of an acute (non-obtuse) triangle and one exponent as open problems.

In this paper, we discuss the extended generalized multi-index Bessel function by using the extended beta type function. Then we investigate its several properties including integral representation, derivatives, beta transform, Laplace transform, Mellin transforms, and some relations of extension of extended generalized multi-index Bessel function (E1GMBF) with the Laguerre polynomial and Whittaker functions. Further, we also discuss the composition of the generalized fractional integral operator having Appell function as a kernel with the extension of extended generalized multi-index Bessel function and establish these results in terms of Wright functions.

The main objective of this paper is to compute refinements of bounds of the generalized fractional integral operators containing an extended generalized Mittag-Leffler function in their kernels. The presented results also provide refinements of already known bounds of different fractional integral operators for convex, m- convex, s-convex and (s, m)-convex functions. Moreover, the refinements of some known fractional versions of the Hadamard inequality are given.

In this paper, we establish generalized fractional versions of Hermite-Hadamard inequalities for exponentially (α, h − m)-convex functions, exponentially (h − m)-convex functions and exponentially (α, m)-convex functions. These inequalities arise when using the generalized fractional integral operators containing Mittag-Leffler function via a monotonically increasing function. The presented results hold at the same time for various kinds of convexities and well-known fractional integral operators. Moreover, the established inequalities reproduce several known results which are part of the existing literature.

In this paper, we use the elementary methods, the properties of the Gauss sums and the estimate for character sums to study the calculating problems of a certain cubic residues modulo p, and give some interesting identities and asymptotic formulas for their counting functions.

In this paper, we present a multi-step hybrid iterative method. It is proven that under appropriate assumptions, the proposed iterative method converges strongly to a common element of fixed point of a finite family of nonexpansive mappings, the solution set of split monotone variational inclusion problem and the solution set of triple hierarchical variational inequality problem (THVI) in real Hilbert spaces. In addition, we give a numerical example of a triple hierarchical system derived from our generalization.

Let $(M, g, \varphi)$ be an $n$-dimensional locally decomposable Riemann manifold, that is, $g(\varphi X, Y) = g(X, \varphi Y)$ and $\nabla \varphi = 0$, where $\nabla $ is Riemann (Levi-Civita) connection of metric $g$. In this paper, we construct a new connection on locally decomposable Riemann manifold, whose name is statistical ($\alpha, \varphi)$-connection. A statistical $\alpha $-connection is a torsion-free connection such that $% \overline{\nabla }g = \alpha C$, where $C$ is a completely symmetric $(0, 3)$% -type cubic form. The aim of this article is to use connection $\overline{% \nabla }$ and product structure $\varphi $ in the same equation, which is possible by writing the cubic form $C$ in terms of the product structure $% \varphi $. We examine some curvature properties of the new connection and give examples of it.

Some characterizations for weighted composition operators to be invertible on Dirichlet type spaces $\mathfrak{D}_{\rho}$ are given in this paper when $\rho$ is finite lower type greater than $0$ and upper type less than $1$. In particular, the equivalence between invertible and preserve frames is established. Moreover, weighted composition operators that preserve tight frames and normalized tight frames on the Dirichlet type space $\mathfrak{D}_{\alpha}$ $(0 < \alpha < 1)$ are also investigated.

In this paper, with the quaternion number and time-varying coefficients introduced into traditional BAMNNs, the model of quaternion-valued BAMNNs are formulated. For the first time, fixed-time stabilization of time-varying quaternion-valued BAMNNs is investigated. A novel fixedtime control method is adopted, in which the choice of the Lyapunov function is more general than in most previous results. To cope with the noncommutativity of the quaternion multiplication, two different fixed-time control methods are provided, a decomposition method and a non-decomposition method. Furthermore, to reduce the control strength and improve control efficiency, an adaptive fixed-time control strategy is proposed. Lastly, numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

In present paper, we introduced generalized iterative method to solve linear and nonlinear fractional differential equations with composite fractional derivative operator. Linear/nonlinear fractional diffusion-wave equations, time-fractional diffusion equation, time fractional Navier-Stokes equation have been solved by using generalized iterative method. The graphical representations of the approximate analytical solutions of the fractional differential equations were provided.

In this paper, we develop some integral transforms involving a product of Humbert and Bessel functions with a weight e-γx2. These integral transforms will be evaluated in terms of hypergeometric functions. Various transformation formulae are also evaluated in terms of Appell functions to complete this study. Some special cases of the evaluated integrals yield some infinite series of generalized hypergeometric and Appell functions. As application, one of our main results is investigated to give an expression of the Generalized Humbert-Gaussian beams (GHGBs) propagating through a paraxial ABCD optical system.

In this paper, we establish a new Lyapunov-type inequality for a differential equation involving left Riemann-Liouville and right Caputo fractional derivatives subject to Dirichlet-type boundary conditions.

In the present paper, we investigate a fractional model in Caputo sense to explore the dynamics of the Zika virus. The basic results of the fractional Zika model are presented. The local and global stability analysis of the proposed model is obtained when the basic reproduction reproduction number is less or greater than 1. To show the global stability of the fractional Zika model, we use the Lyapunov function theory in fractional environment. Further, we simulate the fractional Zika model to present the graphical results for different values of fractional order and model parameters.

This paper provides a mathematical study for analyzing the dynamics of smoking with health education campaigns involved. The method of next generation matrix is used to derive the basic reproduction number $R_0$. We prove that the smoking-free equilibrium is both locally and globally asymptotically stable if $R_0 < 1$; and the smoking-present equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable if $R_0 > 1$. By comparing with smoking dynamics without health education involved, we conclude that health education can decrease smoking population. Numerical simulations are used to support our conclusions.

In this paper, we present a Localized Orthogonal Decomposition (LOD) in Petrov-Galerkin formulation for a two-scale Helmholtz-type problem. The two-scale problem is, for instance, motivated from the homogenization of the Helmholtz equation with high contrast, studied together with a corresponding multiscale method in (Ohlberger, Verf\"urth. A new Heterogeneous Multiscale Method for the Helmholtz equation with high contrast, arXiv:1605.03400, 2016). There, an unavoidable resolution condition on the mesh sizes in terms of the wave number has been observed, which is known as "pollution effect" in the finite element literature. Following ideas of (Gallistl, Peterseim. Comput. Methods Appl. Mech. Engrg. 295:1-17, 2015), we use standard finite element functions for the trial space, whereas the test functions are enriched by solutions of subscale problems (solved on a finer grid) on local patches. Provided that the oversampling parameter $m$, which indicates the size of the patches, is coupled logarithmically to the wave number, we obtain a quasi-optimal method under a reasonable resolution of a few degrees of freedom per wave length, thus overcoming the pollution effect. It is well-known that under suitable conditions there exists a unique solution of a ddimensional linear stochastic differential equation. The explicit expression of the solution, however, is not given in general. Hence, numerical methods to obtain approximate solutions are useful for such stochastic di erential equations. In this paper, we consider stochastic difference equations corresponding to linear stochastic differential equations. The difference equations are constructed by weakly dependent random variables, and this formulation is raised by the view points of time series. We show a convergence theorem on the stochastic difference equations.
