Let A(G) be the adjacency matrix of a simple connected undirected graph G. A graph G of order n is said to be non-singular (respectively singular) if A(G) is non-singular (respectively singular). The spectrum of a graph G is the set of all its eigenvalues denoted by spec(G). The antireciprocal (respectively reciprocal) eigenvalue property for a graph G can be defined as "Let G be a non-singular graph G if the negative reciprocal (respectively positive reciprocal) of each eigenvalue is likewise an eigenvalue of G, then G has anti-reciprocal (respectively reciprocal) eigenvalue property." Furthermore, a graph G is said to have strong anti-reciprocal eigenvalue property (resp. strong reciprocal eigenvalue property) if the eigenvalues and their negative (resp. positive) reciprocals are of same multiplicities. Let D(G) and A(G), respectively, be the diagonal matrix of vertex de- grees and the adjacency matrix of a connected graph G. The generalized adjacency matrix of G is defined as Aα(G) = αD(G) + (1 − α)A(G), α ∈ [0, 1]. The spread of the generalized adjacency matrix, denoted by S(Aα(G)), is defined as the difference of the largest and smallest eigenvalues of Aα(G). The spread S(Q(G)) of Q(G), the signless Laplacian matrix of G and S(A(G)) of A(G) are similarly defined. In this paper, we establish the relationships between S(Aα(G)), S(Q(G)) and S(A(G)). Further, we find bounds for S(Aα(G)) involving different parameters of G. Also, we obtain lower bounds for S(Aα(G)) in terms of the clique number and independence number of G, and we characterize the extremal graphs in some cases. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Let G = (V , E) be a simple connected graph with vertex set V and edge set E, respectively. The term "anti-reciprocal eigenvalue property" refers to a non-singular graph G for which, − 1 λ ∈ σ (G) , whenever λ ∈ σ (G) , ∀ λ ∈ σ (G) . Here, σ (G) is the multiset of all eigenvalues of A (G) . Moreover, if multiplicities of eigenvalues and their negative reciprocals are equal, then that graph is said to have strong anti-reciprocal eigenvalue properties, and the graph is referred to as a strong anti-reciprocal graph (or (− S R) graph). In this article, a new family of graphs F n (k , j) is introduced and the energy of F 5 (k , k 2) k ≥ 2 is calculated. Let G be a simple connected graph with n vertices and m edges. Let W (G) = (G , w) be the weighted graph corresponding to G. Let λ 1 , λ 2 , ... , λ n be the eigenvalues of the adjacency matrix A (W (G)) of the weighted graph W (G). The energy E (W (G)) of a weighted graph W (G) is defined as the sum of absolute value of the eigenvalues of W (G). In this paper, we obtain upper bounds for the energy E (W (G)) , in terms of the sum of the squares of weights of the edges, the maximum weight, the maximum degree d 1 , the second maximum degree d 2 and the vertex covering number τ of the underlying graph G. As applications to these upper bounds we obtain some upper bounds for the energy (adjacency energy), the extended graph energy, the Randić energy and the signed energy of the connected graph G. Connected planar graphs are of interest to a variety of scholars. Being able to simulate a database of such graphs with selected properties would support specific types of inference for spatial analysis and other network-based disciplines. This paper presents a simple, efficient, and flexible connected planar graph generator for this purpose. It also summarizes a comparison between an empirical set of specimen graphs and their simulated counterpart set, and establishes evidence for positing a conjecture about the principal eigenvalue of connected planar graphs. In a certain class of graphs, a graph is called minimizing if the least eigenvalue of its adjacency matrix attains the minimum. A connected graph containing two or three cycles is called a bicyclic graph if its number of edges is equal to its number of vertices plus one. Stevanović (2008) [9] determined the graphs with maximum spectral radius among all connected graphs of order n with diameter D . A graph in a certain graph class is called minimizing if the least eigenvalue of its adjacency matrix attains the minimum among all graphs in that class. Bell et al. have identified a subclass within the connected graphs of order n and size m in which minimizing graphs belong (the complements of such graphs are either disconnected or contain a clique of size n/2 ). In this paper we discuss the minimizing graphs of a special class of graphs of order n whose complements are connected and contains exactly one cycle (namely the class Ucn of graphs whose complements are unicyclic), and characterize the unique minimizing graph in Ucn when n ≥ 20. The Estrada index of a graph G is defined as E E (G) = ∑ i = 1 n e λ i , where λ 1 , λ 2 , ... , λ n are the eigenvalues of the adjacency matrix of G. A unicyclic graph is a connected graph with a unique cycle. Let U (n , d) be the set of all unicyclic graphs with n vertices and diameter d. In this paper, we give some transformations which can be used to compare the Estrada indices of two graphs. Using these transformations, we determine the graphs with the maximum Estrada indices among U (n , d) . Let A (G) be the adjacent matrix and D (G) the diagonal matrix of the degrees of a graph G, respectively. For 0 ≤ α ≤ 1 , the A α -matrix is the general adjacency and signless Laplacian spectral matrix having the form of A α (G) = α D (G) + (1 − α) A (G) . Clearly, A 0 (G) is the adjacent matrix and 2 A 1 2 is the signless Laplacian matrix. A cactus is a connected graph such that any two of its cycles have at most one common vertex, that is an extension of the tree. The A α -spectral radius of a cactus graph with n vertices and k cycles is explored. The outcomes obtained in this paper can imply some previous bounds from trees to cacti. In addition, the corresponding extremal graphs are determined. Furthermore, we proposed all eigenvalues of such extremal cacti. Our results extended and enriched previous known results.
