This deliverable (D4.7: Conference papers/posters participation) presents a detailed list of all conferences where the MedSTACH project was presented, during Phase I, in order to disseminate MedSTACH’s activities in the academic and industrial sectors. The list includes presentations in international and local conferences and workshops. The presentation of MedSTACH project and the Centre’s activities in the specific conferences served the networking with key and relevant associations, stakeholders, private agencies, archaeological missions, and universities at a local and international level.

This meta-analysis examines the inconsistent findings across experimental studies that compared children’s learning outcomes with digital and paper books. We quantitatively reviewed 39 studies reported in 30 articles (n = 1,812 children) and compared children’s story comprehension and vocabulary learning in relation to medium (reading on paper versus on-screen), design enhancements in digital books, the presence of a dictionary, and adult support for children aged between 1 and 8 years. The comparison of digital versus paper books that only differed by digitization showed lower comprehension scores for digital books. Adults’ mediation during print books’ reading was more effective than the enhancements in digital books read by children independently. However, with story-congruent enhancements, digital books outperformed paper books. An embedded dictionary had no or negative effect on children’s story comprehension but positively affected children’s vocabulary learning. Findings are discussed in relation to the cognitive load theory and practical design implications.

OBJECTIVE: We evaluated reporting completeness and transparency in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) conducted using administrative data based on 2021 CONSORT Extension for Trials Conducted Using Cohorts and Routinely Collected Data (CONSORT-ROUTINE) criteria. STUDY DESIGN AND SETTING: MEDLINE and the Cochrane Methodology Register were searched (2011 and 2018). Eligible RCTs used administrative databases for identifying eligible participants or collecting outcomes. We evaluated reporting based on CONSORT-ROUTINE, which modified eight items from CONSORT 2010 and added five new items. RESULTS: Of 33 included trials (76% used administrative databases for outcomes, 3% for identifying participants, 21% both), most were conducted in the United States (55%), Canada (18%), or the United Kingdom (12%). Of eight items modified in the extension; six were adequately reported in a majority (>50%) of trials. PLA coating on Kraft paper is very promising systems for food packaging, and has potential environmental advantages over conventional synthetic paper coatings. This work was focused on: (i) analyzing the physicochemical, thermal and microstructural properties of PLA films; (ii) developing and studying multilayer systems obtained by impregnation of Kraft paper with different layers of PLA solution; (iii) evaluating the influence of PLA layers on the support cellulosic properties. The PLA coating improves packaging material performance and hence the functional properties of Kraft paper. The impregnation of hygroscopic materials as the Kraft paper with PLA was an alternative interesting to obtain more hydrophobic matrices. The assembled materials attained were heat-sealed. Furthermore, the use of PLA adds to potential food applications, a renewable resource value obtained from sources agricultural. The design of this multilayer support also allows its extension to other media such as paperboard. Moreover, the addition of 4 or 5 layers favourably modified the assembled system properties. Increasing even further the number of PLA layers, system properties hardly underwent a significant improvement. Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic brought numerous challenges, and novel methods for monitoring symptoms and quality of life of people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are now required. The COPD Assessment Test (CAT), the Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness-Fatigue-Subscale (FACIT-FS) and the St. George’s Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ) paper-based measures are commonly applied in clinical practice. Nevertheless, it is unknown if follow-up monitoring using telephone interview is equivalent to in person paper-based forms. Objectives: This study aimed to compare validity and reliability of follow-up monitoring using CAT, FACIT-FS and SGRQ when administered by paper-based forms and telephone interview in people with COPD. Methods: Data from an observational 6-month prospective study including people with stable COPD followed up monthly was analysed. At follow-up six, participants answered to CAT, FACIT-FS and SGRQ questionnaires in person during a home visit and by telephone with an interval maximum of 48-hours. Participants were randomly selected to answer first to the paper version followed by telephone or vice versa. Validity was assessed with the Spearman correlation (rs). Reliability measures included Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC), standard error of measurement (SEM), Bland and Altman 95% Limits of Agreement (BA95%LoA) and internal consistency with Cronbach’s alpha. Results: Twenty-one people with COPD (17 men; 65 ± 8 years; FEV1 65.1 ± 21.2%predicted) were included. Strong positive correlations (rs 0.85-0.98, p < 0.001) between the scores of CAT, FACIT-FS and SGRQ applied by both methods were found. Test-retest reliability was excellent, with an ICC of 0.94 (95%CI: 0.85-0.98), 0.99 (95%CI: 0.96-0.99) and 0.98 (95%CI: 0.94-0.99) for CAT, FACIT-FS and SGRQ total scores. The SEM showed a low level of associated measurement error, ranging between 0.40 in FACIT-FS to 4.68 in SGRQ symptoms subscale. The BA95%LoA ranged from -1.13 to 0.80, illustrating a good level of agreement between both administration modes, with no evidence of bias. The internal consistency was similar between paper and telephone versions (Cronbach’s alpha of 0.72/0.71, 0.34/0.21 and 0.85/0.86 for CAT, FACIT and SGRQ total scores). Conclusions: In a context where personal contact should be reduced, telephonic administration of CAT, FACIT-FS and SGRQ showed to be a valid and reliable alternative approach to paper-based forms for monitoring symptoms and health-related quality of life in people with COPD. published

Background The Schedule for the Evaluation of Individual Quality of Life-Direct Weighting (SEIQoL-DW) is a prevalent face-to-face interview method for measuring quality of life by integrating respondent-generated dimensions. To apply this method in clinical trials, a paper-administered alternative would be of interest. Therefore, our study aimed to analyze the agreement between the SEIQoL-DW and a paper questionnaire version (SEIQoL-PF/G). Methods In a crossover design, both measures were completed in a random sequence. 104 patients at a heart surgery hospital in Germany were randomly assigned to receive either the SEIQoL-DW or the SEIQoL-PF/G as the first measurement in the sequence. Patients were approached on their earliest stable day after surgery. The average time between both measurements was 1 day (mean 1.3; SD 0.8). Agreement regarding the indices, ratings, and weightings of nominated life areas (cues) was explored using Bland-Altman plots with 95% limits of agreement (LoA). Agreement of the SEIQoL indices was defined as acceptable if the LoA did not exceed a threshold of 10 scale points. Data from n = 99 patients were included in the agreement analysis. Results Both measures led to similarly nominated cues. The most frequently nominated cues were “physical health” and “family”. In the Bland-Altman plot, the indices showed a mean of differences of 2 points (95% CI, − 1 to 6). The upper LoA showed a difference of 36 points (95% CI, 30 to 42), and the lower LoA showed a difference of − 31 points (95% CI, − 37 to − 26). Thus, the LoAs and confidence intervals exceeded the predefined threshold. The Bland-Altman plots for the cue levels and cue weights showed similar results. The SEIQoL-PF/G version showed a tendency for equal weighting of cues, while the weighting procedure of the SEIQoL-DW led to greater variability. Conclusions For cardiac surgery patients, use of the current version of the SEIQoL-PF/G as a substitute for the SEIQoL-DW is not recommended. The current questionnaire weighting method seems to be unable to distinguish weighting for different cues. Therefore, the further design of a weighting method without interviewer support as a paper-administered measure of individual quality of life is desirable.

Out of East Asian languages which do not use the Latin alphabet, Japanese is a very complicated writing system that uses “kanji,” which are ideograms, and “kana,” which are phonetic characters. Most of the Japanese papers published so far using Journal Article Tag Suite (JATS) are science, technology, and medicine fields adapting horizontal writing systems, which are structurally consistent with English papers. Most of them only replace Latin letters with Japanese characters. In this presentation, we suggested method of presenting vertically oriented Japanese humanities articles in JATS XML. For vertical description of Chinese numeric, we would like to propose the introduction of an element which specifies description direction. Alternatively, could be used as a hidden command when creating a document. We propose the following notation in the part of the number that can be converted: 六五. Chinese numeric 六五 is a Arabic numeric 65. With this, it is shown that 六五 of Chinese numerals can be converted to 65 in Arabic numerals. For vertical text description with JATS, we would like to suggest adding @ writing-mode as an attribute to :. Furthermore, note and references should be differentiated for example, between a and a in the future. As Kanji are ideograms, there are variations that cannot be expressed with UTF-8. If these difficult Kanji are included in the JATS text, it will be necessary to decide on their description method. For the propagation of use of JATS XML for non-Latin characters articles, the structure of the document for example, vertical description, and special presentation should be considered more widely.

Background Advance care planning (ACP) aids can help prepare patients, family members, and physicians for in-the-moment medical decision-making. We wished to describe the content and approach of paper-based ACP aids in order to characterize existing aids and inform the development of a new ACP aid. Methods Paper-based ACP aids were identified through an environmental scan and screened for eligibility. ACP conceptual frameworks and data were gathered via stakeholder engagement and used to inform the coding framework that two investigators used to independently code each aid. A directed content analysis was conducted on these eligible aids. Aids were categorized through a deliberative process with an investigator abstracting general information for each aid. Results Fifteen aids met the eligibility criteria. They ranged in length from 6 to 78 pages with the average aid written at an eighth-grade reading level. The content analysis revealed that many aids encouraged choosing a surrogate decision maker and informed users about legal medical documents. Fewer than half of the aids facilitated patient clarification of values regarding quality of life issues. The authors identified and termed the following three categories of aids: informative; semi-action oriented; and action-oriented. It was often unclear whether patients contributed to the development or testing of the ACP aids reviewed. Conclusions Most existing paper-based ACP aids address legal matters such as completing an advance directive. Only a minority elicited patient values and it was unclear whether any were developed in partnership with patients. Future development of ACP aids should account for patient preferences with a goal of supporting in-the-moment medical decision-making.

Item does not contain fulltext Acne causes profound negative psychological and social effects on the quality of life (QoL) of patients. The European Dermatology Forum S3-Guideline for the Treatment of Acne recommended adopting a QoL measure as an integral part of acne management. Because of constantly growing interest in health-related QoL assessment in acne and because of the high impact of acne on patients' lives, the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology Task Force on QoL and Patient Oriented Outcomes and the Task Force on Acne, Rosacea and Hidradenitis Suppurativa have documented the QoL instruments that have been used in acne patients, with information on validation, purposes of their usage, description of common limitations and mistakes in their usage and overall recommendations.

There is a need for researchers to have easy reference to the wide spectrum of different types of quality of life (QoL) instruments that can be used in atopic dermatitis (AD). Previous reviews on QoL in AD do not cover the full spectrum of QoL measures used in studies on AD. This study, on behalf of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) Task Force on QoL, contains information on instruments available for health-related QoL and family QoL assessment in AD including information on validation, experience of QoL assessment in AD for different purposes, peculiarities of QoL assessment in different age groups, expert analysis of available instruments including data on limitations of their use and recommendations of the Task Force.

The SHAPE-ID project was scheduled to organise six learning case workshops across Europe between December 2019 and May 2020 to enable stakeholders to explore best practices in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research (IDR/TDR). A report on the workshop series was scheduled for June 2020. The first three of these workshops – held in Dublin in December 2019, Edinburgh in January 2020 and Turin in February 2020 – took place as planned but the remaining three – intended to take place in Bilbao in March, in Warsaw in April and in Zurich in May 2020 – were postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. These workshops will now take place in a virtual format in September and October 2020 and the report on the results of all six workshops has been necessarily postponed to the end of November 2020. This working paper has been prepared to share in a preliminary form the results of the first three workshops. We emphasise the provisional nature of this report as the workshop series is ongoing. The outcomes of all six workshops will be synthesised and evaluated when the series is complete., We would like to thank all of the participants of our workshops in Dublin, Edinburgh and Turin, who gave their time so generously to contribute the insights included in this report.

The number of elderly people as a proportion of the world’s population is growing significantly. Special attention to the accessibility and mobility requirements of this group is needed. The contribution of this paper is a review of travel patterns, mode preferences, infrastructure solutions, accessibility indices, mode choice models and datasets as they relate to elderly mobility. Key findings highlight the role of residential location characteristics in shaping elderly travel patterns, helping to explain why research on elderly travel has largely relied on case studies to date. The review also summarizes a range of indices that have been developed to measure public transport and walking accessibility among the elderly, including distance and time-based methods. Future research should consider the dominance of private transport in facilitating elderly mobility and its implications for cities experiencing an aging population.

Background: Mental imagery (MI) has been described as the “ability to simulate in the mind information that is not currently being perceived by the sense organs” (Moran, 2012, p. 166). The vividness of mental imagery has been defined as the clarity, brightness, or intensity of an image as reported by the individual (Marks, 1973). There are many studies conducted on vividness in typically developing (TD) individuals, however, no attempt has been made either to assess the vividness of mental imagery in people with intellectual disability (ID) or compare it with that of typically developing (TD) adults. Metods: A vividness of imagery test (comprising a modified version of the Vividness of Visual Imagery Questionnaire 2, (VVIQ-2; Marks, 1995), and two items of the Age Projection Test, (APT; Ahsen, 1988) were administered to participants with mild, moderate, and severe ID. Their performance on the vividness scale was compared with typically developing individuals. Measures for cognitive and adaptive functioning were administered to ascertain the ID level of participants. Results: The results of this study reveal a non-significant group difference between people with mild ID, moderate ID, and TD on the vividness of mental imagery and eidetic imagery. People with severe ID performed significantly lower than the other three groups. Conclusion: Despite their cognitive impairment, a non-significant difference between the performance of people with mild and moderate ID and typically developing individuals on imagery vividness scale is noteworthy.

There have been many exciting developments in research studies of the pathophysiology and treatment of FM and related syndromes that have the potential to improve the recognition and management of patients with FM and other conditions with FM-like pain. However, much of the new information has not reached all clinicians, especially primary care clinicians, who have the greatest potential to use this new knowledge to positively impact their patients' lives. Furthermore, there are persistent misconceptions about FM and a lack of consensus regarding the diagnosis and treatment of FM. This paper presents a framework for future global efforts to improve the understanding and treatment of FM and other associated chronic pain syndromes, disseminate research findings, identify ways to enhance advocacy for these patients, and improve global efforts to collaborate and reach consensus about key issues related to FM and chronic pain in general. Background: Person-centered care is a valuable approach to improve the quality of care of the elderly and is a starting point for maintaining the dignity of people needing care. Objectives: This study aimed at translation, cultural adaptation, and validation of the Persian version of the Person-centered Climate Questionnaire–Patient questionnaire in elderly patients admitted to the Eastern Guilan hospitals from 2017-2018. Design: This research was a cross-sectional study. The Persian version of Person-centered Climate Questionnaire –Patient version was completed by 200 older adults admitted to different wards of the hospitals. They were selected through convenient sampling. Data were collected in 5 hospitals affiliated to Guilan University of Medical Sciences, East of Guilan located in the north of Iran, from November 2017 to February 2018. Methods: This study was carried out in two phases. In the first phase, the original questionnaire with 17 items was translated from English into Persian using Forward-Backward translation method. In the second phase, the psychometric properties of the questionnaire were evaluated using face, content, and construct validity, as well as reliability (internal consistency and stability). Data were analyzed via SPSS software v.16. Results: The results of exploratory factor analysis (EFA) led to retaining 17 items with three factors of “Safety”, “Hospitality”, and “Everydayness” which explained 47.69% of the total variance. Cronbach's alpha coefficient was calculated for each factor (0.85, 0.70, and 0.64, respectively) as well as the whole instrument (0.85), to ensure internal consistency. Stability was confirmed by calculating the intra-class correlation coefficient as 0.99. Conclusions: The current study found support for assessing the person-centered climate from the perspective of the elderly patients by using the Persian version of the Person-centered Climate Questionnaire–Patient that has an appropriate cultural adaptation, validity, and reliability.

The plate-like graphene shells (GS) produced by an original methane pyrolysis method and their derivatives graphene oxide (GO) and graphene oxide paper (GO-P) were evaluated with luminescent Escherichia coli biotests and additional bacterial-based assays which together revealed the graphene-family nanomaterials' toxicity and bioactivity mechanisms. Bioluminescence inhibition assay, fluorescent two-component staining to evaluate cell membrane permeability, and atomic force microscopy data showed GO expressed bioactivity in aqueous suspension, whereas GS suspensions and the GO-P surface were assessed as nontoxic materials. The mechanism of toxicity of GO was shown not to be associated with oxidative stress in the targeted soxS::lux and katG::lux reporter cells; also, GO did not lead to significant mechanical disruption of treated bacteria with the release of intracellular DNA contents into the environment. The well-coordinated time- and dose-dependent surface charge neutralization and transport and energetic disorders in the Escherichia coli cells suggest direct membrane interaction, internalization, and perturbation (i.e., "membrane stress") as a clue to graphene oxide's mechanism of toxicity.

Objective Analyses of the impact of a body of clinical trial reports subject to research misconduct have been few. Our objective was to examine the impact on clinically relevant research of a group of researchers’ trial reports (‘affected trial reports’) affected by research misconduct, and whether identification of misconduct invoked a reappraisal. Design In 2016, we used five databases and search engines to identify ‘citing publications’, that is, guidelines, systematic and other reviews, and clinical trials citing any of 12 affected trial reports, published 1998–2011, eventually retracted for research misconduct. The affected trial reports were assessed more likely to have had impact because they had hip fracture outcomes and were in journals with impact factor >4. Two authors assessed whether findings of the citing publications would change if the affected trial reports were removed. In 2018, we searched for evidence that the citing publications had undertaken a reassessment as a result of the potential influence of the affected trial reports. Results By 2016 the affected trial reports were cited in 1158 publications, including 68 systematic reviews, meta-analyses, narrative reviews, guidelines and clinical trials. We judged that 13 guidelines, systematic or other reviews would likely change their findings if the affected trial reports were removed, and in another eight it was unclear if findings would change. By 2018, only one of the 68 citing publications, a systematic review, appeared to have undertaken a reassessment, which led to a correction. Conclusions We found evidence that this group of affected trial reports distorted the evidence base. Correction of these distortions is slow, uncoordinated and inconsistent. Unless there is a rapid, systematic, coordinated approach by bibliographic databases, authors, journals and publishers to mitigate the impact of known cases of research misconduct, patients, other researchers and their funders may continue to be adversely affected.

International audience; Water cleaning of paper leaves is a preliminary step in many customary deacidification treatments of ancient books in conservation workshops. Usually, the washing solutions are considered “waste waters” and they are thrown away. In this work, an analytical protocol for the analysis of wash waters for the assessment of the conservation state of ancient books is proposed. Wash waters of leaves under different conservation conditions of a 16th-century- rinted book were investigated using UV-Vis, IR, Raman, NMR, EPR, XRF, ESI-MS, ICP-MS, CE-PDA and elemental microanalysis. Analysis of the wash water extracts allowed one to identify a large number of degradation by-products, ranging from low-molecular mass organic acids to cellulose oligomers. Reasons for the very different conservation conditions of the leaves emerged, indicating that wash water analysis provides a deep insight into the conservation state and composition of leaves as well as degradation reactions occurred on them

This paper reports the findings from a study to investigate health care professionals&rsquo, views regarding the use and acceptability of two similar paper-based advance care planning (ACP) documents designed for older adults in their last year of life to inform end-of-life care provision. Participants&rsquo, views of using PEACE (Proactive Elderly Persons Advisory Care), a nurse led model with community geriatrician oversight, and PACe (proactive anticipatory care plan), a general practitioner (GP) led model implemented by two clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) as part of a wider pilot to determine their ability to improve end-of-life care provision, were explored. Hospital admission avoidance matrons took part in face to face interviews and care staff employed in private residential care homes took part in individual telephone interviews to explore their views of using the PEACE tool. Telephone interviews were conducted with GPs to explore their views of PACe. GPs and admission avoidance matrons were employed by CCGs and all study participants were recruited from the South East of England, where data collection took place in 2015. The data were analysed thematically. Findings from the study demonstrate how both tools provide a focus to ACP discussions to inform individual end-of-life care preferences. The importance of relationships was a pivotal theme established, trusting inter-professional relationships to enable multidisciplinary teamwork and a prior relationship with the older person (or their proxy in the case of cognitive impairment) to enable such conversations in the first place. Both tools enabled participants to think critically and reflect on their own practice. Notwithstanding participants&rsquo, views to improve their layout, using a paper-based approach to deliver streamlined ACP and end-of-life care was a theme to emerge as a potential barrier, and highlighted problems with accessing paper-based documentation, accuracy and care co-ordination in the context of multidisciplinary team working. The value of technology in overcoming this barrier and underpinning ACP as a means to help simplify service provision, promote integrated professional practice and provide seamless care, was put forward as a way forward.

Humanities and social sciences studies in Korea have remarkably low rates of co-authorship between professors and students. We chose a bibliometrics-based approach to characterize changes in the ratio of joint authorship between professors and students. Articles classified in the humanities and social sciences sectors that were published in journals registered in the Korean Citation Index during 2 phases over a 10-year period—2004 to 2006 (phase 1) and 2011 to 2013 (phase 2)—were used as the main source for the analysis. The study results can be summarized as follows: first, the overall number of co-authored articles drastically increased from phase 1 to phase 2; the percentage of co-authorship articles increased from 34.8% to 47.7%, and the percentage of co-authorship between students and professors rose from 9.9% to 20.7%. This trend was particularly noticeable in the social sciences, such as accounting, social welfare, and economics/business administration. Second, papers written by scholars from Seoul National University, Yonsei University, and Korea University were often published in high-impact factor journals. Among those articles, the rate of professor-student co-authorship increased by 21.6% for 7 years. Third, the increase in professor-student co-authored articles published in high- impact factor journals was even sharper. These findings indicate that perceptions of professor-student co-authorship have changed in the humanities and social sciences. In the near future, positive perceptions toward joint research and joint authorship between professors and students are expected to become more widespread.

Objetivos: La ausencia de diseños compatibles con el medio ambiente para los espacios urbanos que consideran los usos de alta densidad es el problema urbano más importante en discusión. Alcanzar el confort térmico para los usuarios de los espacios urbanos afecta directamente la eficiencia del uso y mejora la calidad de vida de los residentes. Esta investigación tiene como objetivo mejorar el rendimiento de los espacios urbanos, especialmente el rendimiento ambiental mediante el uso de los diversos elementos del paisaje para lograr el confort térmico para sus usuarios. Metodología: La metodología para lograr los objetivos consiste en una parte teórica, que detecta los diversos desempeños de los elementos del paisaje y, una parte analítica en la que se selecciona el Campus Médico de Tanta como un estudio de caso. Una propuesta de desarrollo para el diseño urbano de sus espacios urbanos se presenta enfocándose en el desempeño ambiental para lograr el confort térmico para los usuarios y así lograr la satisfacción dentro del espacio. Luego se realiza una evaluación del efecto del diseño propuesto, para lograr el mejor desempeño ambiental de los espacios urbanos, mediante el uso del software de simulación ambiental “ENVI-MET”. Resultados: Esta investigación describe los resultados que demuestran el papel de los elementos del paisaje en la mejora del rendimiento ambiental, como la disminución de la temperatura del aire, la reducción de MRT y la reducción de la temperatura de la superficie. La satisfacción térmica para los usuarios, medida con PMV, se ha mejorado durante las horas del día. El MRT bajo las áreas sombreadas se reduce debido al desarrollo propuesto. Originalidad: Este documento presenta el re-diseño del campus médico en la Universidad de Tanta mediante el uso de los diversos elementos del paisaje teniendo en cuenta las necesidades funcionales, sociales, ambientales y estéticas. Mediante el uso de la simulación, la herramienta “ENVI-MET” evalúa el efecto ambiental del diseño propuesto, lo que confirma el efecto distinguido de los elementos del paisaje, especialmente la vegetación, para lograr el confort térmico para los usuarios del campus. Objectives: The absence of environmentally compatible designs for urban spaces that consider the high-density usages is the most important urban problem under discussion. Attaining the thermal comfort for users of the urban spaces directly affects the usage efficiency and improves the quality of life for the residents. This research aims to improve the performance of urban spaces specially the environmental performance by using the various landscape elements to achieve the thermal comfort for its users. Methodology: The methodology for achieving the goals can be represented via a theoretical part which spots the various performances of the landscape elements, and an analytical part in which, the Tanta Medical Campus is selected as a case study. A development proposal for the urban design of its urban spaces is presented by focusing on the environmental performance to achieve thermal comfort for users and thus to attain satisfaction within the space. Then an evaluation of the effect of the proposed design, to achieve the best environmental performance of the urban spaces, is done by the use of environmental simulation software “ENVI-MET”. Results: This research outlines the results that prove the role of the landscape elements in enhancing the environmental performance such as decreasing air temperature, reducing MRT and reducing surface temperature. The thermal satisfaction for the users, as measured using PMV, has been improved during the daylight hours. The MRT under the shaded areas is reduced due to the proposed development. Originality: This paper introduces the redesign of the medical campus at Tanta University by using the various landscape elements considering the functional, Social, environmental and aesthetical needs. By using simulation, tool “ENVI-MET” to evaluate the environmental effect of the proposed design, which confirms the distinguished effect of the landscape elements especially the vegetation to achieve the thermal comfort for campus users.

Günlük yaşamda yırtılma direncine maruz kalan birç ok baskılı malzemeyi kullanmaktayız. Kâğıt ve baskı mürekkebi arasındaki etkileşimler lifler arası bağları ve dolayısıyla kâğıdın yırtılma direncini etkiler. Bu çalışmada Cyan, Magenta, Sarı ve Siyah renk yağ bazlı ofset proses mürekkepleri kullanılarak ya pılan zemin ton baskılarının kağıdın yırtılma direncine etkileri belirlenmeye çalışıldı. Kâğıdın statik yırtılma direnci, evrensel çekme testi cihazı kullanılarak belirlenmiştir ve yırtılma direnci modelleri incelenmiştir. Basılı kâğıtlarda yırtılma direnc inin azalması ve nispeten yakın yırtılma endeksi oranları (çapraz yön/makine yönü) gözlemlenmiştir. Yağ bazlı mürekkeplerle zemin tonlu baskı uygulaması, kâğıtların yırtılmaya başlaması için gerekli olan gücü arttırmıştır. Abstrac t: Every day we use many different kinds of printed materials exposed to tearing stresses. Interactions between paper and printing inks affect the inter-fiber bonds, accordingly the tearing properties of paper. This study was carried out to determine the effect of tearing resistance properties of papers printed with solid tone oil based sheed -fed offset inks, using Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black process series. The static tearing resistance of paper was determined by universal tensile testing device and tearing strength patterns was examined. Decrease of tear resistance and relatively close tear index ratios (cross direction / machine direction) was observed for printed papers. Printing application of solid tone oil based inks increases the force required for initiation of tearing of papers.

Linking survey responses and the electoral register is a core part of data collection in political science. This experiment shows that there is no difference in consent rates if the motivation for data linkage is changed to a more truthful one. This is encouraging for researchers of registration and turnout; survey respondents do not object to their data being linked for checking potential errors in their reporting. It also is consistent with the idea that consent to link survey data to information from the electoral register is driven by a consideration of the linkage itself, rather than being overly reliant on question wording. This view is supported by the additional finding that there is also no difference in the rates of opt-out consent between two alternate motivations. The second finding at this stage is that far fewer people opt out of consent than refuse their consent when they are asked to opt in.

Poiche le ricerche su Google Scholar producono documenti inediti, esse potrebbero inavvertitamente influire sulla percezione della letteratura musicoterapica per medici, ricercatori e utenti di servizi. Pertanto, lo scopo di questa revisione sistematica e stato quello di identificare e analizzare la letteratura attuale comprendente studi inediti e non referenziati di musicoterapia e salute mentale, da gennaio 2000 a settembre 2017, individuati tramite Google Scholar. Dopo aver stabilito i criteri di inclusione ed esclusione, gli articoli sono stati identificati utilizzando una varieta di combinazioni di parole chiave di musicoterapia e salute mentale. Ventuno studi hanno incontrato i criteri di inclusione. Sedici studi erano tesi di laurea e cinque erano tesi di dottorato. Quasi la meta degli studi (n = 8) ha coinvolto adolescenti con diagnosi di salute mentale. Sebbene non tutti gli studi contenessero dati, piu studi contenevano dati qualitativi (n = 10) rispetto ai dati quantitativi (n = 3). La letteratura inedita di musicoterapia e salute mentale puo rappresentare una risorsa preziosa per guidare la pratica clinica e la ricerca. Poiche la maggior parte degli autori erano affiliati a universita al di fuori degli Stati Uniti, si pensa che altrove ci sia un maggiore interesse per la salute mentale. E preoccupante che molti studi identificati richiedessero credenziali di accesso aggiuntive. Our project has sought to investigate young people’s perceptions of coercive sexual behavior: how people identify consent and its lack and the propensity for people to blame victims. In particular, we wanted to examine what difference, if any, gender makes. Our findings may have important implications for policing and prosecuting sexual offences and for the work of charities and third sector groups providing services for young people and sexual assault victims.

Acne causes profound negative psychological and social effects on the quality of life (QoL) of patients. The European Dermatology Forum S3-Guideline for the Treatment of Acne recommended adopting a QoL measure as an integral part of acne management. Because of constantly growing interest in health-related QoL assessment in acne and because of the high impact of acne on patients’ lives, the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology Task Force on QoL and Patient Oriented Outcomes and the Task Force on Acne, Rosacea and Hidradenitis Suppurativa have documented the QoL instruments that have been used in acne patients, with information on validation, purposes of their usage, description of common limitations and mistakes in their usage and overall recommendations. © 2017 European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology
