Publications in Renal Failure in Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-EXPANDED) between 1992 and 2021 were analyzed. Six publication indicators: total, independent, collaborative, first author, corresponding author, and single author publications as well as their related citation indicators, were used to compare performances of countries, institutes, and authors. Comparison of the highly cited papers and journal's impact factor (IF) contributors was discussed. In addition, the main research topics in the journal were presented. Results show that China published the most total articles and reviews, as well as the first-author papers and corresponding-author papers in the journal. The Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan ranked the top in five publication indicators: total, single-institution, inter-institutionally collaborative, first author, and corresponding-author papers. A low percentage of productive authors emerged as a journal IF contributor. Similarly, only a limited relationship between highly cited papers and IF contributing papers was found. Publications related to hemodialysis, chronic kidney disease, and acute kidney injury were the most popular topic, while meta-analysis was new focus in the last decade in the journal. This research aims to enlighten current and future research trends on political connections by providing complete bibliometric mapping through network studies on political connections. Utilizing Biblioshiny, the Bibliometrics R package, multi-perspective research publications on political connections from 2003 to the third quarter of 2023 were discovered and analyzed. This bibliometric analysis provides valuable insights regarding current and future publications on political connections. The most prolific contributors, the most used keywords, the most productive countries and sources, the most cited publications, and the most productive sources of information are network analysis data about co-occurrence networks. The discourse revolves around issue mapping data on political connection studies. The search method used to find related literature is the Scopus database. This research contributes valuable information to help other researchers map ongoing and future investigations into political connections. This bibliometric analysis of 294 documents is the first regarding political connections known to researchers. This evaluation emphasizes annual publication trends, authors, publications, countries, organizations, and most productive sources, determining potential future research objectives. The research on political connections was published in early 2003. No papers were released on this subject for 3 years after 2003 (2003–2005), which shows that the growth of this academic field slowed down for ten years. There were significant changes in 2011, and many more linked papers have been released. Authors from the USA and China significantly contributed to the initial scientific journal papers on their political connections. Hong Kong, China, and Australia are recognized as leading nations in scholarly contributions to studying political connections. Chinese scholars spearheaded the collaborative publication effort focused on political connections, with the USA and Australian experts following suit. Based on indexed terms, political connections, sustainable development, and financial performance are trending keywords. Background: Dysphagia is a common complication of stroke that can result in serious consequences. In recent years, more and more papers on post-stroke dysphagia have been published in various journals. However, there is still a lack of bibliometric analysis of post-stroke dysphagia. This study visually analyzes the global research situation of post-stroke dysphagia from 2013 to 2022, aiming to explore the current research status, frontier trends, and research hotspots in this field. Methods: Articles and reviews relevant to post-stroke dysphagia were obtained and retrieved from the Web of Science core collection database in the last 10 years (from 2013 to 2022). CiteSpace and Microsoft Excel 2019 were used for bibliographic analysis. Results: A total of 1,447 articles were included in the analysis. The number of publications showed an overall upward trend, from 72 in 2013 to 262 in 2022. The most influential authors, institutions, journals, and countries were Hamdy S, University of London, Dysphagia, and the People's Republic of China. An analysis of keywords and the literature indicated that current studies in the field of poststroke dysphagia focused on dysphagia and aspiration, dysphagia classification, dysphagia rehabilitation, and daily living. Conclusion: This bibliometric analysis reveals the latest advancements and emerging trends in the field of post-stroke dysphagia, spanning the years 2013 to 2022. It highlights the paramount importance of conducting large-scale randomized controlled trials examining the efficacy of dysphagia screening protocols and non-invasive intervention techniques in improving the quality of life for these patients. Carbon emissions are critical to climate change, and land-use change is an essential source of growth in carbon emissions. Research on land-use carbon emissions has become one of the hotspots in academic research. To explore the research hotspots and development trends of land-use carbon emissions in the last 20 years, CiteSpace software was used to conduct a quantitative analysis of relevant literature. This paper was based on the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and Web of Science (WoS) database literature on land-use carbon emissions from 2001 to 2020. The scientific research cooperation network CiteSpace software, with keyword co-occurrence, clustering, and burst word detection, was used to systematically analyze the main research strengths, hotspots and frontiers and clarify the research progress. The research results are as follows: (1) the amount of literature and the depth of research on land-use carbon emissions have increased yearly. However, there is little cooperation between research institutions and scholars, and there is still a lack of large-scale and stable research teams. (2) At the research hotspot level, the English literature focuses on building models and theoretical frameworks to study the internal mechanisms and driving factors of carbon emissions and climate change. The Chinese literature focuses on achieving regional carbon emissions reductions and carbon cycle goals and optimizing a low-carbon economy, transportation and land-use structure. (3) Research frontiers and trends show that the English literature first explored carbon sequestration, organic carbon, and carbon accounting. In China, the research frontiers are gradually becoming focused on influencing factors, decoupling analysis, and the built environment. With the massive use of lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles and energy storage, the environmental and resource problems faced by used lithium-ion batteries are becoming more and more prominent. In order to better resource utilization and environmental protection, this paper employs bibliometric and data analysis methods to explore publications related to waste lithium-ion battery recycling from 1984 to 2021. The Web of Science core set from the SCIE online database was used for this article. These findings demonstrate a considerable increase trend in the number of publications published in the subject of recycling used lithium-ion batteries, with a natural-sciences-centric focus. Argonne National Lab, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and China Academic and Scientific Research Center are the top three institutions in terms of quantity of papers published. The affiliated journals corresponding to these three institutions also have high impact factors, which are 106.47, 44.85, and 58.69, respectively. In comparison to comparable institutes in other nations, the American Argonne National Laboratory supports 223 research articles in this area. China and the US make up the majority of the research's funding. The two key aspects of current lithium-ion battery recycling research are material structure research and environmentally friendly recycling. Nevertheless, high-capacity lithium-ion batteries, waste lithium-ion integrated structures, and gentle recycling of spent lithium-ion batteries will be the major aspects of study in the future. Objectives: The purpose of this research is to summarize the structure of radiomics-based knowledge and to explore potential trends and priorities by using bibliometric analysis. Methods: Select radiomics-related publications from 2012 to October 2022 from the Science Core Collection Web site. Use VOSviewer (version 1.6.18), CiteSpace (version 6.1.3), Tableau (version 2022), Microsoft Excel and Rstudio's free online platforms (http://bibliometric.com) for co-writing, co-citing, and co-occurrence analysis of countries, institutions, authors, references, and keywords in the field. The visual analysis is also carried out on it. Results: The study included 6428 articles. Since 2012, there has been an increase in research papers based on radiomics. Judging by publications, China has made the largest contribution in this area. We identify the most productive institutions and authors as Fudan University and Tianjie. The top three magazines with the most publications are《FRONTIERS IN ONCOLOGY》, 《EUROPEAN RADIOLOGY》, and 《CANCERS》. According to the results of reference and keyword analysis, "deep learning, nomogram, ultrasound, f-18-fdg, machine learning, covid-19, radiogenomics" has been determined as the main research direction in the future. Conclusion: Radiomics is in a phase of vigorous development with broad prospects. Cross-border cooperation between countries and institutions should be strengthened in the future. It can be predicted that the development of deep learning-based models and multimodal fusion models will be the focus of future research. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) in the field of spinal cord injury (SCI) have garnered significant attention for their potential applications in diagnosis and therapy. However, no bibliometric assessment has been conducted to evaluate the scientific progress in this area. A search of articles in Web of Science (WoS) from January 1, 1991, to May 1, 2023, yielded 359 papers that were analyzed using various online analysis tools. These articles have been cited 10,842 times with 30.2 times per paper. The number of publications experienced explosive growth starting in 2015. China and the United States led this research initiative. Keywords were divided into 3 clusters, including "Pathophysiology of SCI", "Bioactive components of EVs", and "Therapeutic effects of EVs in SCI". By integrating the average appearing year (AAY) of keywords in VoSviewer with the time zone map of the Citation Explosion in CiteSpace, the focal point of research has undergone a transformative shift. The emphasis has moved away from pathophysiological factors such as "axon", "vesicle", and "glial cell" to more mechanistic and applied domains such as "activation", "pathways", "hydrogels" and "therapy". Background: Liver cancer (LC) is one of the most common malignancies. Currently, nanotechnology has made great progress in LC research, and many studies on LC nanotechnology have been published. This study aims to discuss the current status, hot spots, and research trends in this field through bibliometric analysis. Methods: The Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database was searched for papers related to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) included from January 2000 to November 2022, and its research hotspots and trends were visualized and analyzed with the help of VOSviewer. In addition, a search was conducted to find LC papers related to nanotechnology. Then we used the visual analysis software VOSviewer and CiteSpace to evaluate the contributions of countries/ regions, authors, and journals related to the topic and analyze keywords to understand the research priorities and hot spots in the field as well as the development direction. Results: There are 1908 papers in the highly cited literature on LC, and its research hotspots are pathogenesis, risk factors, and survival rate. The literature on the application of nanotechnology in LC had 921 papers. Among them, China (n=560, 60.8%) and the United States (n=170, 18.5%) were the countries with the highest number of published papers. Wang Yan (n=11) and Llovet JM (n=131) were the first authors and co-cited authors, respectively. The International Journal of Nanomedicine was the most prolific academic journal (n=41). In addition to “hepatocellular carcinoma” and “nanoparticles”, the most frequent keyword was “drug delivery”. In recent years, “metastasis” and “diagnosis” appeared in the keyword bursts. This indicates that the application of nanoparticles in the early diagnosis and drug delivery of LC (including liver metastasis) has a good prospect. Conclusion: Nanotechnology has received more and more attention in the medical field in recent years. As nanoparticles are easily localized in organelles and cells, they can increase drug permeability in tumor tissues, improve drug delivery efficiency and reduce drug toxicity. Implantable medical devices (IMDs) play a crucial role in improving individuals' well-being and ensuring their safety by providing real-time health data monitoring for recovery. The use of energy harvesting (EH) technology has become increasingly popular among researchers because it offers the potential to extend the battery life of IMDs and reduce their weight. This study successfully examined the expansion of EH in the field of IMDs, the distribution of publications across different countries, and the identification of the most influential authors for potential research collaborations. A bibliometric analysis was conducted to evaluate two metrics: performance and science mapping. Data was collected from the Scopus database from the initial publications until October 2023, encompassing 250 articles published in Englishlanguage journals. The titles, keywords, and abstracts of these publications were analyzed and interpreted using VOS Viewer (version 1.6.19). Furthermore, network analysis using VOS Viewer enabled the identification of key research clusters. The findings reveal a continuous increase in EH for research on infectious and parasitic diseases over the 15-year period from 2008 to 2023. The United States and the University of Bern are recognized as the leading contributors to this field, based on their country and institutional contributions, respectively. The author with the most published papers and citations hails from China. Additionally, this study identifies several opportunities for collaboration with countries, institutions, authors, and research hotspots in EH for IMDs that benefit the reader. Background: Research on exosomes in metabolic diseases has been gaining attention, but a comprehensive and objective report on the current state of research is lacking. This study aimed to conduct a bibliometric analysis of publications on "exosomes in metabolic diseases" to analyze the current status and trends of research using visualization methods. Methods: The web of science core collection was searched for publications on exosomes in metabolic diseases from 2007 to 2022. Three software packages, VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and R package "bibliometrix" were used for the bibliometric analysis. Results: A total of 532 papers were analyzed, authored by 29,705 researchers from 46 countries/regions and 923 institutions, published in 310 academic journals. The number of publications related to exosomes in metabolic diseases is gradually increasing. China and the United States were the most productive countries, while Ciber Centro de Investigacion Biomedica en Red was the most active institution. The International Journal of Molecular Sciences published the most relevant studies, and Plos One received the most citations. Khalyfa, Abdelnaby published the most papers and Thery, C was the most cited. The ten most co-cited references were considered as the knowledge base. After analysis, the most common keywords were microRNAs, biomarkers, insulin resistance, expression, and obesity. Applying basic research related on exosomes in metabolic diseases to clinical diagnosis and treatment is a research hotspot and trend. Background: Necroptosis, a recently discovered programmed cell death, has been pathologically linked to various diseases and is thus a promising target for treating diseases. However, a comprehensive and objective report on the current status of entire necroptosis research is lacking. Therefore, this study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis to quantify and identify the status quo and trending issues of necroptosis research in the last decade. Methods: Articles were acquired from the Web of Science Core Collection database. We used two bibliometric tools (CiteSpace and VOSviewer) to quantify and identify the individual impact and cooperation information by analyzing annual publications, journals, co-cited journals, countries/regions, institutions, authors, and co-cited authors. Afterwards, we identified the trending research areas of necroptosis by analyzing the co-occurrence and burst of keywords and co-cited references. Results: From 2012 to 2021, a total of 3,111 research articles on necroptosis were published in 786 academic journals by 19,687 authors in 885 institutions from 82 countries/regions. The majority of publications were from China and the United States, of which the United States maintained the dominant position in necroptosis research; meanwhile, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Ghent University were the most active institutions. Peter Vandenabeele published the most papers, while Alexei Degterev had the most co-citations. Cell Death & Disease published the most papers on necroptosis, while Cell was the top 1 co-cited journal, and the major area of these publications was molecular, biology, and immunology. High-frequency keywords mainly included those that are molecularly related (MLKL, TNF-alpha, NF-κB, RIPK3, RIPK1), pathological process related (cell-death, apoptosis, necroptosis, necrosis, inflammation), and disease related (cancer, ischemia/reperfusion injury, infection, carcinoma, Alzheimer's disease). Conclusion: Necroptosis research had a stable stepwise growth in the past decade. Current necroptosis studies focused on its cross-talk with other types of cell death, potential applications in disease treatment, and further mechanisms. Among them, the synergy with ferroptosis, further RIPK1/RIPK3/MLKL studies, its association with inflammation and oxidative stress and translational applications, and the therapeutic potential to treat cancer and neurodegenerative diseases are the trending research area. Background: Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are important players in the complex pathophysiology of ischemic stroke (IS). Recent studies have shown that tremendous progress has been made in the research of MMPs in IS. However, a comprehensive bibliometric analysis is lacking in this research field. This study aimed to introduce the research status as well as hotspots and explore the field of MMPs in IS from a bibliometric perspective. Methods: This study collected 1,441 records related to MMPs in IS from 1979 to 2022 in the web of science core collection (WoSCC) database, among them the first paper was published in 1992. CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and R package "bibliometrix" software were used to analyze the publication type, author, institution, country, keywords, and other relevant data in detail, and made descriptive statistics to provide new ideas for future clinical and scientific research. Results: The change in the number of publications related to MMPs in IS can be divided into three stages: the first stage was from 1992 to 2012, when the number of publications increased steadily; the second stage was from 2013 to 2017, when the number of publications was relatively stable; the third stage was from 2018 to 2022, when the number of publications began to decline. The United States and China, contributing more than 64% of publications, were the main drivers for research in this field. Universities in the United States were the most active institutions and contributed the most publications. STROKE is the most popular journal in this field with the largest publications as well as the most co-cited journal. Rosenberg GA was the most prolific writer and has the most citations. "Clinical," "Medical," "Neurology," "Immunology" and "Biochemistry molecular biology" were the main research areas of MMPs in IS. "Molecular regulation," "Metalloproteinase-9 concentration," "Clinical translation" and "Cerebral ischemia-reperfusion" are the primary keywords clusters in this field. Energy storage ceramics is among the most discussed topics in the field of energy research. A bibliometric analysis was carried out to evaluate energy storage ceramic publications between 2000 and 2020, based on the Web of Science (WOS) databases. This paper presents a detailed overview of energy storage ceramics research from aspects of document types, paper citations, h-indices, publish time, publications, institutions, countries/regions, research areas, highly cited papers, and keywords. A total of 3177 publications were identified after retrieval in WOS. The results show that China takes the leading position in this research field, followed by the USA and India. Xi An Jiao Tong Univ has the most publications, with the highest h-index. J.W. Zhai is the most productive author in energy storage ceramics research. Ceramics International, Journal of Materials Science-Materials in Electronics, and the Journal of Alloys and Compounds are the most productive journals in this field, and materials science—multidisciplinary is the most frequently used subject category. Keywords, highly cited papers, and the analysis of popular papers indicate that, in recent years, lead-free ceramics are prevalent, and researchers focus on fields such as the microstructure, thin films, and phase transition of ceramics. Land use change is a significant contributor to global environmental change. The expansion of urban areas has increasingly impacted rural ecological environments, in particular the shift from agro-ecosystems to urban ecosystems, leading to alterations in land use patterns. Rural land use has led to economic, social, and environmental problems, including poor economic efficiency, emissions of pollutants, and increased environmental crises. The research of alterations in rural land use and their consequential environmental ramifications has garnered escalating attention, evolving into an indispensable subject of inquiry within pertinent academic disciplines. This study aims to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the ecological impacts of rural land use change. We examined 1237 literature sources through the Web of Science database and conducted a bibliometric analysis utilizing the Bibliometrix tool. Secondly, based on the results of bibliometric analysis, we conducted a review study on the impact of rural land use changes on the ecological environment, clarified the current research status in this field, and looked forward to future research directions. The study's findings indicate that there has been a steady rise in publication volume from 1982 to 2023 and a significant potential for growth. The top three journals by publication volume are Sustainability, Land Use Policy, and Land. (2) A total of 4768 scholars from 95 countries or regions have contributed publications in this domain, notably led by researchers and institutions predominantly based in China. Developed nations, exemplified by the U.S., exhibit a notable citation frequency and robust research prowess within this field. (3) Land use, urbanization, China, ecosystem services, biodiversity, and remote sensing emerge as keywords of elevated frequency within the field, indicative of the scholarly emphasis on these subjects. (4) Studies in this domain are directed towards evaluating the effects on intrinsic components of the environment, including but not limited to soil quality, atmospheric conditions, water resources, and biodiversity. The implementation of sustainable rural land use strategies is essential for the realization of rural development and environmental protection. The research on the application of BIM technology in architectural heritage is increasing. Building information modeling (BIM) makes the realization of architectural heritage assessment, design, and management systematic and effective. However, little is known about the use of China-based BIM in conjunction with architectural heritage. Therefore, this study conducted a systematic literature analysis to determine the application fields and development trends of BIM and architectural heritage research in China. A total of 186 articles were retrieved from CNKI, of which 167 met the inclusion criteria and formed the basis of this systematic literature analysis. With the aid of the literature research visualization analysis software VOSviewer and SATI, a comprehensive literature visualization analysis was carried out. It was determined that the hot fields of BIM research in architectural heritage in China are mainly focused on (a) the perspective of data acquisition and measurement technology, (b) the perspective of model construction based on point cloud data acquisition, and (c) the perspective of BIM model application. Future research trends may focus on the information research of architectural heritage, combined with the application of BIM technology in the whole life cycle management of architectural heritage and other aspects. Background: Ultrasound-triggered sonodynamic therapy (SDT), as a noninvasive approach, has attracted considerable attention in a wide variety of malignant tumors and other diseases. Over the past 2 decades, the number of scientific publications on SDT has increased rapidly. However, there is still a lack of one comprehensive report that summarizes the global research trends and knowledge landscapes in the field of SDT in detail. Thus, we performed a bibliometric analysis on SDT from 2000 to 2021 to track the current hotspots and highlight future directions. Methods: We collected publications on SDT research from the Web of Science Core Collection database. The annual number of publications and citations, major contributors, popular journals, international collaborations, co-cited references and co-occurrence keywords were analyzed and visualized with CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and R-bibliometrix. Results: A total of 701 publications were included. The annual publication output increased from 5 in 2000 to 175 in 2021, and the average growth rate was 18.4%. China was the most productive country with 463 documents (66.05%), and Harbin Medical University was the most prolific institution (N = 73). Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology published the most papers related to SDT. Materials Science, and Chemistry were the research areas receiving the most interest. All the keywords were divided into four different clusters including studies on mechanisms, studies on drug delivery and nanoparticles, studies on cancer therapy, as well as studies on ultrasound and sonosensitizers. In addition to nanomaterials-related studies including nanoparticles, mesoporous silica nanoparticles, nanosheets, liposomes, microbubble and TiO2 nanoparticle, the following research directions such as immunogenic cell death, metal-organic framework, photothermal therapy, hypoxia, tumor microenvironment, chemodynamic therapy, combination therapy, tumor resistance, intensity focused ultrasound, drug delivery, and Staphylococcus aureus also deserve further attention and may continue to explode in the future. Conclusion: SDT has a bright future in the field of cancer treatment, and nanomaterials have increasingly influenced the SDT field with the development of nano-technology. In rural areas with higher agricultural energy consumption, ensuring low-carbon transformation and rapid penetration is crucial; therefore, the importance of rural energy system in energy transformation is even more prominent. In order to better understand the research progress of rural integrated energy system, the existing structure of rural energy system and design method are briefly introduced, and the bibliometric method is applied to analyze publications from 2013 to 2023. Based on the Scopus database, 915 publications have been retrieved. These publications are analyzed from the perspective of citation, author, address, and published journal. It is concluded that existing researches mostly use conventional energy technologies to achieve power supply in rural areas, lacking analysis of the potential application of emerging energy technologies and research on multi-energy demand. Furthermore, the review reveals the economy of grid-connected rural energy system is mainly related to geographical location, system configuration, and resource endowment. The bibliometric analysis indicated that these publications are mainly from India and China; the average citation is 24.98, and each article is co-published by 3.66 authors, 2.26 institutes, and 1.46 countries. The introduction of electric vehicles (EVs) represents a promising solution for addressing urban air pollution, particularly CO2 emissions in the transportation sector. Numerous countries are actively promoting EV adoption and the electrification of transportation systems, leading to a surge in research on EV-related topics. This study employs bibliometrics as a valuable tool to investigate the research landscape in electric vehicle waste management. Drawing from a dataset of 593 documents retrieved from SCOPUS from 1995 to 20 September 2023, this research employs descriptive analysis and bibliometric mapping techniques. Notably, China stands out as the leading contributor to publications, with Tsinghua University being a prominent research institution in this field. An examination of keyword trends reveals dynamic shifts in research focus. In 2023, the most frequently occurring topic is "closed loop". "Recycling" is the dominant keyword, appearing 681 times. Additionally, TreeMaps and VOSviewer results indicate that the most commonly used keywords are "electronic waste" and "recycling". Projections suggest that "recycling materials" will gain prominence in mid-2023, further highlighting the evolving nature of this research field. Researchers in recycling materials disciplines can leverage these insights to explore new research avenues and contribute to sustainable waste management practices in the context of electric vehicles. Freshwater resources are scarce globally, and the increase in carbon dioxide (CO 2) concentration leads to both a decrease in soil moisture and arid climate, further limiting agricultural production. Therefore, it is critical to achieve water efficiency in agriculture under elevated CO 2 concentration. A comprehensive analysis was conducted on the research topic of efficient agricultural water under elevated CO 2 concentration using bibliometric methods. The results show that the number of papers on this research has changed from an accumulation phase (1992–2005, 395) to a growth phase (2006–2023, 963). "Carbon dioxide", "water-stress", "growth", "photosynthesis", "yield", and other keywords have been the focus of past research in this area. Kimball BA and Ainsworth EA are the most influential authors in this area. Leakey's (2009) paper in "Experimental Botany" was the most contributing study, summarizing six lessons about the effects of CO 2 enrichment on the relationship among carbon, nitrogen, and water in plants. The United States and China were the most influential countries. Over time, research has shifted from an early focus on atmospheric CO 2 change itself to the response of crops to elevated CO 2 in agricultural production. The efficient crop production strategy under the interaction of environmental factors is becoming a hot spot for future research, and the emission and use of greenhouse gases, the improvement of crop quality, and the efficient guidance of models are also worth exploring. Overall, this study presents a quantitative analysis and comprehensive review of past research conducted on the effect of water and fertilizer on agricultural production under CO 2 enrichment. Background: Tetrandrine has been the focus of many studies in recent years. Currently, no bibliometric study in this field has been published. This study presents a bibliometric analysis of the articles on tetrandrine research from the WOS core database during the recent two decades. Methods: Documents were retrieved for further bibliometric analysis based on the search terms: [TI = (Tetrandrine OR Sinomeninea OR Hanfangchin A) AND PY = (2000–2021)]. We used Microsoft Excel to conduct the frequency analysis, VOSviewer for data visualization, and RStudio for citation metrics and analysis. The standard bibliometric indicators such as the temporal trends and geographical distribution of publications and citations, prolific authors and co-authorship, keywords citation burst, preferred journals, top-cited articles, and important institutions were applied in this study. Results: 490 documents were retrieved from WOS core database, the retrieved document type consists of 8 categories: 425 articles, 42 meeting abstracts, 8 reviews, 7 corrections, 3 editorial material, 2 proceedings paper, 1 letter, 1 retraction. Corrections and Retractions was excluded from this investigation, the left 482 document were included for furter bibliometric analysis. Conclusion: Based on our findings, there was a continuous growth of publications on tetrandrine research for 22 years since 2000. China was the largest contributor to tetrandrine research, followed by the United States. The most influential author was Cheng Y (Natl Taiwan Univ Hosp). Acta Pharmacol Sin remained the main publication related to tetrandrine research. Chinese Academy of Sciences, is expected to be a good collaborating center in tetrandrine research. Objective: Circular RNA (circRNA) is of significant interest in genetic research. The aim of this study was to assess global trends in circRNA research production in order to shed new light on future research frontiers. Materials and Methods: In this retrospective study, we conducted a literature search using the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database on March 21, 2019 to retrieve publications from 2007 to 2018. Excel 2013, CiteSpace V, and VOSviewer were used to evaluate bibliometric features that included publication output, countries/regions, institutions, journals, citation frequency, H-index, and research hotspots. Results: Global cumulative publication output on circRNA consisted of 998 papers with a total citation of 28595 during 2007-2018. China, the US, and Germany were the most prolific countries. China ranked first in H-index (60 times) and citations (13333 times). The most productive institution was Nanjing Medical University with 73 papers. Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications (impact factor [IF]2017:2.559) ranked first among journals in the number of publications (64 papers). The keywords shifted from "sequence", "intron", and "splice-site" to "transcriptome", "microRNA sponge", "exon circularization", and "circRNA biogenesis" overtime. The burst keywords "transcriptome", "microRNA sponge", "exon circularization", and "circRNA biogenesis" were the latest frontiers by 2018. Conclusion: This is a relatively novel bibliometric analysis to inspect research related to circRNA. The results show that publications have continuously increased in the past decade. China, the US, and Germany were the leading countries/regions in terms of quantity. Recent studies on topics related to circRNA biogenesis and function should be closely followed in this field. Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) has attracted increasing research interest in sustainable management and decision-making in recent years. To further understand the research status and trend, the purpose of this study is to adopt bibliometric and visual methods to analyze the knowledge structure and the evolution path in the research field of ESG. Based on 1735 papers on ESG in the Web of Science Collection database from 2004 to 2021, this study uses CiteSpace and VOSviewer to present a bibliometric overview of publications, citation structure, authors, universities, countries/regions, journals, and keywords that work on this Topic. Results indicate that scholars increasingly regard ESG as an integrated sustainability analysis framework and pay more attention to the connection among its dimensions. According to the growth trend, ESG may remain a hot research topic for the next few years. The USA is the most productive country, followed by England and China. Journals on ESG research with higher effective factors have higher cocitation frequency and publications. And Sustainable development, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, ESG, and ESG ratings as the research hotspots are presented. Additionally, this study provides an overview of the ESG research trends for future researchers. Background: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is increasingly recognized as a significant health issue. Emerging research has focused on the role of the gut microbiota in NAFLD, emphasizing the gut-liver axis. This study aimed to identify key research trends and guide future investigations in this evolving area. Methods: This bibliometric study utilized Scopus to analyze global research on the link between the gut microbiota and NAFLD. The method involved a search strategy focusing on relevant keywords in article titles, refined by including only peer-reviewed journal articles. The data analysis included bibliometric indicators such as publication counts and trends, which were visualized using VOSviewer software version 1.6.20 for network and co-occurrence analysis, highlighting key research clusters and emerging topics. Results: Among the 479 publications on the gut microbiota and NAFLD, the majority were original articles (n = 338; 70.56%), followed by reviews (n = 119; 24.84%). The annual publication count increased from 1 in 2010 to 118 in 2022, with a significant growth phase starting in 2017 (R2 = 0.9025, p < 0.001). The research was globally distributed and dominated by China (n = 231; 48.23%) and the United States (n = 90; 18.79%). The University of California, San Diego, led institutional contributions (n = 18; 3.76%). Funding was prominent, with 62.8% of the articles supported, especially by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (n = 118; 24.63%). The average citation count was 43.23, with an h-index of 70 and a citation range of 0 to 1058 per article. Research hotspots shifted their focus post-2020 toward the impact of high-fat diets on NAFLD incidence. Conclusions: This study has effectively mapped the growing body of research on the gut microbiota-NAFLD relationship, revealing a significant increase in publications since 2017. There is significant interest in gut microbiota and NAFLD research, mainly led by China and the United States, with diverse areas of focus. Recently, the field has moved toward exploring the interconnections among diet, lifestyle, and the gut-liver axis. Background: As one of the most prevalent primary lung tumors, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has garnered considerable research interest due to its high metastasis rates and poor prognosis outcomes. Across different cancer types, metabolic processes are required for tumors progression and growth, thus interfering with such processes in NSCLC may therapeutically viable for limiting/halting disease progression. Therefore, comprehending how metabolic processes contribute to growth and survival mechanisms in cancers, including NSCLC, may elucidate key functions underpinning tumor cell metabolism. However, no bibliometric analyses have been published in this field, therefore we address this knowledge gap here. Methods: Between 2013 and 2023 (December 28th), articles related to the NSCLC and metabolism (NSCLC-Met) field were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). To fully dissect NSCLC-Met research directions and articles, we used the Bibliometrix package in R, VOSviewer and CiteSpace software to visually represent global trends and hotspots. Results: Between 2013 and 2023, 2,246 NSCLC-Met articles were retrieved, with a continuous upward trend and rapid development observed year on year. Cancers published the most articles, with Cancer Research recording the highest average citation numbers. Zhang Li from China was the most prolific author, but the highest number of authors came from the USA. China, USA, and Italy were the top three countries with the highest number of published articles, with close cooperation identified between countries. Recent hotspots and research directions were reflected by “lung adenocarcinoma”, “immunotherapy”, “nivolumab”, “checkpoint inhibitors”, “blockade”, and “pembrolizumab”, while “gut microbiome”, “egfr” and “dose painting” were important topics for researchers. Conclusion: From our analyses, scientists can now explore new hotspots and research directions in the NSCLC-Met field. Many people experience intense fear of COVID-19. The purpose of this study was to provide a comprehensive visual overview of the published literature from 2020 to 2022 assessing fear of COVID-19. From 2020 to 2022, we employed the Scopus database to conduct a bibliometric analysis. We used the VOSviewer program to perform the author co-citation analysis, Mapchart to produce a worldwide map, and Wordart to make a word cloud image. From the 1769 records examined, 1654 (93.50%) were articles, with English being the most common language (96.31%). From 2020 to 2022, annual citations experienced significant growth (R2 = 99.91%; p = 0.0195). The Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale (INSERM, France) and China led in terms of publication output (n = 36; n = 255). M. D. Griffiths authored the highest number of articles (n = 21). The most active journal was the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (n = 146), and the most prevalent keyword was "human/s" (11.51%). This bibliometric analysis evaluates the quality of the research on fear of the pandemic and the crisis management of COVID-19, which can provide managers and researchers with crucial insights for future decision making. Background: Immunotherapy, frequently combined with conventional chemotherapy, is crucial for treating NSCLC. Kirsten rat sarcoma virus (KRAS) is a poor prognostic factor in patients with NSCLC, particularly lung adenocarcinoma, where binding of conventional inhibitors to mutated KRAS proteins is challenging. Field profiles, research hotspots, and prospects for immunotherapy for patients with NSCLC-carrying KRAS mutations were uncovered in this study. Methods: Microsoft Excel 2019, Bibliometrix, VOSviewer software, and Citespace were utilized to conduct a comprehensive scientometric analysis and understand a specific research field's knowledge base and frontiers aided by bibliometrics. Results: Between 2014 and 2023,398 eligible documents in the English language were acquired using the WoSCC database, of which 113 and 285 were reviews and articles, respectively. The growth rate per year was 34.25 %. The most cited articles were from the United States, and China published the highest number of articles. Cancers was the journal, with increased publications in recent years. The keywords with the strongest citation bursts were analyzed using Citespace. "Immune checkpoint inhibitors," "co-occurring genomic alterations," and "KRAS" are among the research hotspots in this field. Conclusion: Using bibliometric and visual analyses, we examined immunotherapy for patients with KRAS-mutant NSCLC over the previous decade. The whole analysis showed a steady, quick increase in yearly publications in this area. Objective: College students are currently grappling with severe mental health challenges, and research on artificial intelligence (AI) related to college students mental health, as a crucial catalyst for promoting psychological well-being, is rapidly advancing. Employing bibliometric methods, this study aim to analyze and discuss the research on AI in college student mental health. Methods: Publications pertaining to AI and college student mental health were retrieved from the Web of Science core database. The distribution of publications were analyzed to gage the predominant productivity. Data on countries, authors, journal, and keywords were analyzed using VOSViewer, exploring collaboration patterns, disciplinary composition, research hotspots and trends. Results: Spanning 2003 to 2023, the study encompassed 1722 publications, revealing notable insights: (1) a gradual rise in annual publications, reaching its zenith in 2022; (2) Journal of Affective Disorders and Psychiatry Research emerged were the most productive and influential sources in this field, with significant contributions from China, the United States, and their affiliated higher education institutions; (3) the primary mental health issues were depression and anxiety, with machine learning and AI having the widest range of applications; (4) an imperative for enhanced international and interdisciplinary collaboration; (5) research hotspots exploring factors influencing college student mental health and AI applications. Conclusion: This study provides a succinct yet comprehensive overview of this field, facilitating a nuanced understanding of prospective applications of AI in college student mental health. Ecological research on the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau (QTP) has become a hotspot in recent years, and a great number of related research papers have been published. Here, a bibliometrics method was utilized to analyze 4315 papers from the Web of Science published from 1990 to 2019, and a comprehensive overview based on metrics, including the publication growth, first author' institutions and countries, research areas, international cooperation, high-impact journals and papers, and research hotspots and topics, is presented. The results revealed the following: (1) The number of published papers has grown exponentially, with China and India being the main research countries. However, China and the USA have the greatest weights in country cooperation. The Chinese Academy of Sciences has a relatively strong influence and plays the leading role in institutional cooperation. Wang Shiping, Zhang Zhenhua, Luo Caiyun, and seven other authors are highly influential. GLOBAL CHANGE BIOLOGY is the scientific journal that has published the greatest number of papers on the subject, and 'Environmental Sciences & Ecology' is the key research area; (2) Grazing, Precipitation, Soil moisture, Aboveground biomass, and Temperature are the top five core keywords. The research hotspots were mainly ecosystem services, biodiversity research, forest protection, and ecological adaptation under the background of climate change; and (3) Both new and old research topics appear in the periods 1990–1999, 2000–2009, 2010–2014, and 2015–2019, but all the periods focused on the impacts of rising temperature on natural elements, such as soil, forests, rivers, and lakes. Many recent also focused on the harmonious coexistence of human beings and nature. On the basis of these findings, some research suggestions and agendas are proposed for future research on the QTP. Background: Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) can act on the bacterial cell membrane to play an antibacterial role in types of drug-resistant bacteria. Therefore, AMPs have attracted more and more attention in the treatment of drug-resistant bacteria.Methods: Bibliometric analysis was employed to sort out the development and trends in the research of AMPs in the treatment of drug-resistant bacteria and map the knowledge structure for scholars.Results: Since 2010, the publications and citations in this field have exploded, indicating a growing global interest in the field of AMPs for the treatment of drug-resistant bacteria. And as major countries in this field, China and the USA had conducted very in-depth exchanges and cooperation, which had injected a steady stream of impetus into this field. Both old and new scholars have made efforts, and related fields have developed rapidly, especially in the synthesis and improvement of novel AMPs. In recent years, research directions in the field of AMPs for the treatment of drug-resistant bacteria gradually focused on the practical application, optimization of drug delivery mode, optimization of synthesis mode, screening of new AMPs and other fields, indicating that the relevant research results of AMPs for the treatment of drug-resistant bacteria had entered the actual clinical stage, with higher practical significance.Conclusion: The research history, global research status, future research hotspots, and trends of the research of AMPs in the treatment of drug-resistant bacteria were discussed in depth in this study, which can provide research references and inspiration for researchers inside and outside the related field. Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze the current status of research on nurses' turnover intention and to provide suggestions and references for promoting research on turnover intention and for promoting hospital talent development. Methods: We used the bibliometric method "turnover intention" or "intention to leave" and "nurse*" as subject terms, and 1543 articles from 2017 to 2021 were retrieved from the WoS database using VOSViewer and CiteSpace software. Article based on this descriptive statistical analysis was performed on the year of publication, region, institution, journal of publication, and cited articles. Results: A total of 1,500 articles met the inclusion criteria. There is an overall upward trend in the number of articles published in the field of nursing in terms of turnover intention from 2017 to 2021. The United States has the highest number of publications and the highest number of institutions, while China ranks second in terms of publications, but there are no Chinese research institutions in the top 10. The top three journals in terms of the number of articles published are the Journal of nursing management, the Journal of advanced nursing, and the Journal of clinical nursing; Oman's League had the highest number of citations for their article in 2021; the most frequently occurring keywords are burnout, stress, satisfaction, model, work environment, organizational commitment, perception, predictor, mental health, and mediating role. Conclusion: There is a great need for further research on how to develop sound measures to tackle nurse turnover intention. The following improvements should be made, such as to enhance research institutional settings for nurses' turnover intention in China and to increase attention to nurse burnout and possible mediating influences in future studies. Introduction: The discovery of RT-PCR-based pathogen detection and gene expression analysis has had a transformative impact on the field of plant protection. This study aims to analyze the global research conducted between 2001 and 2021, focusing on the utilization of RT-PCR techniques for diagnostic assays and gene expression level studies. By retrieving data from the 'Dimensions' database and employing bibliometric visualization software, this analysis provides insights into the major publishing journals, institutions involved, leading journals, influential authors, most cited articles, and common keywords. Methods: The 'Dimensions' database was utilized to retrieve relevant literature on RT-PCR-based pathogen detection. Fourteen distinct search queries were employed, and the resulting dataset was analyzed for trends in scholarly publications over time. The bibliometric visualization software facilitated the identification of major publishing journals, institutions, leading journals, influential authors, most cited articles, and common keywords. The study's search query was based on the conjunction 'AND', ensuring a comprehensive analysis of the literature. Results: The analysis revealed a significant increase in the number of scholarly publications on RT-PCR-based pathogen detection over the years, indicating a growing interest and investment in research within the field. This finding emphasizes the importance of ongoing investigation and development, highlighting the potential for further advancements in knowledge and understanding. In terms of publishing journals, Plos One emerged as the leading journal, closely followed by BMC Genomics and Phytopathology. Among the highly cited journals were the European Journal of Plant Pathology, BMC Genomics, and Fungal Genetics and Biology. The publications with the highest number of citations and publications were associated with the United Nations and China. Furthermore, a network visualization map of coauthorship analysis provided intriguing insights into the collaborative nature of the research. Out of 2,636 authors analyzed, 50 surpassed the level threshold, suggesting active collaboration among researchers in the field. Discussion: Overall, this bibliometric analysis demonstrates that the research on RT-PCR-based pathogen detection is thriving. However, there is a need for further strengthening using modern diagnostic tools and promoting collaboration among well-equipped laboratories. The findings underscore the significance of RT-PCR-based pathogen detection in plant protection and highlight the potential for continued advancements in this field. Objective: As one of the cancers that seriously threatens women's health, ovarian cancer has a high morbidity and mortality rate. Surgery and chemotherapy are the basic treatment strategies for ovarian cancer, and chemotherapy resistance is a significant factor in affecting the prognosis, survival cycle, and recurrence of ovarian cancer. This article aims to analyze articles about ovarian cancer and drug resistance via bibliometric software, offering new ideas and directions for researchers in this field. Methods: Both Citespace and Vosviewer are bibliometric software on the Java platform. Articles were collected on ovarian cancer and drug resistance in the Web of Science Core Collection database from 2013 to 2022. The countries, institutions, journals, authors, keywords, and references were analyzed, and the development status of this field was indicated from multiple perspectives. Results: Studies on ovarian cancer and drug resistance generally showed an increasing trend from 2013 to 2022. The People's Republic of China and Chinese institutions contributed more to this field. Gynecologic Oncology published the most articles, and the journal with the most citations was Cancer Research. Li Li was the author with the most publications, and Siegel RL was the author with the most citations. Through burst detection, it can be found that the research hotspots in this field mainly focused on the in-depth exploration of the drug resistance mechanism of ovarian cancer and the progress of PARP inhibitors and bevacizumab in the treatment of ovarian cancer. Conclusions: Many studies on the mechanism of drug resistance in ovarian cancer have been discovered; however, the deeper mechanism remains to be explored. Compared with traditional chemotherapy drugs, PARP inhibitors and bevacizumab have shown better efficacy, but PARP inhibitors have initially shown drug resistance. In recent decades, climate change has led to global warming, glacier melting, glacial lake outbursts, sea level rising, and more extreme weather, and has seriously affected human life. Remote sensing technology has advanced quickly, and it offers effective observation techniques for studying and monitoring glaciers. In order to clarify the stage of research development, research hotspots, research frontiers, and limitations and challenges in glacier mass balance based on remote sensing technology, we used the tools of bibliometrics and data visualization to analyze 4817 works of literature related to glacier mass balance based on remote sensing technology from 1990 to 2021 in the Web of Science database. The results showed that (1) China and the United States are the major countries in the study of glacier mass balance based on remote sensing technology. (2) The Chinese Academy of Sciences is the most productive research institution. (3) Current research hotspots focus on "Climate change", "Inventory", "Dynamics", "Model", "Retreat", "Glacier mass balance", "Sea level", "Radar", "Volume change", "Surface velocity", "Glacier mapping", "Hazard", and other keywords. (4) The current research frontiers include water storage change, artificial intelligence, High Mountain Asia (HMA), photogrammetry, debris cover, geodetic method, area change, glacier volume, classification, satellite gravimetry, grounding line retreat, risk assessment, lake outburst flood, glacier elevation change, digital elevation model, geodetic mass balance, (DEM) generation, etc. According to the results of the visual analysis of the literature, we introduced the three commonly used methods of glacier mass balance based on remote sensing observation and summarized the research status and shortcomings of different methods in glacier mass balance. We considered that the future research trend is to improve the spatial and temporal resolution of data and combine a variety of methods and data to achieve high precision and long-term monitoring of glacier mass changes and improve the consistency of results. The world is undergoing exponential urbanization, with consequences for society in general, both for cities and people, with serious economic, social and environmental implications. Therefore, it is crucial to reconsider urban models of cities, to ensure global, long-term sustainability. Numerous researchers have argued that one of these models involves eco-city projects, and this study aims to carry out a systematic review of the literature on this topic, through bibliometrics. To do so, the Smarter, Prisma and Vantage Point methods were used, reflecting the originality of the study. The results obtained show that China has aroused researchers' interest regarding its eco-city projects, with most studies being empirical, and so this study complements them. The main contribution of this research lies in identifying the keywords most used by authors, these being eco-cities, sustainable cities (cluster 1) and eco-cities, China, sustainable urban development and eco-cycle model (cluster 2). Electrospun nanofibers have been widely used in dentistry due to their excellent properties, such as high surface area and high porosity, this bibliometric study aimed to review the application fields, research status, and development trends of electrospun nanofibers in different fields of dentistry in recent years. All of the data were obtained from the Web of Science from 2004 to 2021. Origin, Microsoft Excel, VOSviewer, and Carrot2 were used to process, analyze, and evaluate the publication year, countries/region, affiliations, authors, citations, keywords, and journal data. After being refined by the year of publication, document types and research fields, a total of 378 publications were included in this study, and an increasing number of publications was evident. Through linear regression calculations, it is predicted that the number of published articles in 2022 will be 66. The most published journal about electrospun dental materials is Materials Science & Engineering C-Materials for Biological Applications, among the six core journals identified, the percent of journals with Journal Citation Reports (JCR) Q1 was 60%. A total of 17.60% of the publications originated from China, and the most productive institution was the University of Sheffield. Among all the 1949 authors, the most productive author was Marco C. Bottino. Most electrospun dental nanofibers are used in periodontal regeneration, and Polycaprolactone (PCL) is the most frequently used material in all studies. With the global upsurge in research on electrospun dental materials, bone regeneration, tissue regeneration, and cell differentiation and proliferation will still be the research hotspots of electrospun dental materials in recent years. The research study provides a comprehensive bibliometric assessment in the field of Software Testing (ST). The dynamic evolution in the field of ST is evident from the publication rate over the last six years. The research study is carried out to provide insight into the field of ST from various research bibliometric aspects. Our methodological approach includes dividing the six-year time frame into the set of two symmetric but different periods (2016–2018) and (2019–2021) comprising a total of 75,098 records. VOSViewer is used to perform analysis with respect to collaboration network of countries and co-word assessment. Bibliometrix (Studio R) analysis tool is used to evaluate research themes/topics. The year 2019 leads the publication rate whereas a decrement in publication frequency is observed for the years 2020 and 2021. Our research study shows the influence of ST in other research domains as depicted in different research areas. Especially the impact of ST in the Electrical and Electronics Domain is quite notable. Most of the research publications are from the USA and China as they are among the most resourceful countries. On the whole, the majority of the publications are from Asian countries. Collaboration networks amongst countries demonstrate the fact that the higher the collaboration network, the greater would be the research output. Co-word analysis presents the relatedness of documents based on the keywords. The topic dendrogram is generated based on the identified research themes. Although English is the leading language, prominent studies are present in other languages also. Background: Pain is a common complication after stroke with a high incidence and mortality rate. Many studies in the field of pain after stroke have been published in various journals. However, bibliometric analysis in the domain of pain after stroke is still lacking. This study aimed to deliver a visual analysis to analyze the global trends in research on the comorbidity of pain after stroke in the last 12 years. Methods: The publications from the Web of Science (WoS) in the last 12 years (from 2010 to 2021) were collected and retrieved. CiteSpace software was used to analyze the relationship of publication year with countries, institutions, journals, authors, references, and keywords. Results: A total of 322 publications were included in the analysis. A continuous but unstable growth in the number of articles published on pain after stroke was observed over the last 12 years. The Peoples' R China (65), Chang Gung University (10), and Topic in Stroke Rehabilitation (16) were the country, institution, and journal with the highest number of publications, respectively. Analysis of keywords showed that shoulder pain after stroke and central post-stroke pain were the research development trends and focus in this research field. Conclusion: This study provides a visual analysis method for the trend and frontiers of pain research after stroke. • Chinese environmental flows research was characterized based on bibliometric analysis for the period 1967–2019. • This body of research was compared to e-flows research trends within and outside of China. • Prominent Chinese authors and important ideas in e-flows research were identified. • This body of work helps identify prevailing trends in Chinese e-flows research. Advances in water resources research in China has blossomed in recent decades. Although historically many Chinese scientific publications had been limited to regional, language-specific outlets, the more recent emergence of Chinese scholarship in water resources sustainability and engineering suggests that broader recognition within the scientific community is needed. In this study, we explore the recent evolution of Chinese environmental flows research through the bibliometric analysis of two prominent databases. This paper highlights trends in environmental flow publication rates, emerging areas of research, and citation networks for prominent authors in the Chinese context as compared to the global network of environmental flows research. Results indicate that China's environmental flows research developed rapidly over the past two decades (2005–2019) and that Chinese authors are among the most productive in the field (60% of the top 20 authors). However, based on the number of citations, few Chinese articles are among the most highly cited (5 out of 800). The field of environmental flows research has identified the need to minimize parochial boundaries, and this analysis suggests a rich, yet untapped, literature to promote scientific integration. Differences in journal selection, keyword choice, and lesser-known authors to readers outside of China were identified as potential limitations to broader global integration. The application of plasma in the field of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) can be traced back to the 1990s and has gradually developed into an important research field. In this regard, this article primarily sorts and analyzes the literature on the "application of plasma in the field of VOCs" in the Web of Science core collection database from 1992 to 2021 and, subsequently, obtains important data and trends, including the annual number of articles published, country, institution analysis, and journal, as well as discipline analysis, etc. The results show that China is not only in a leading position in the field of research, but also has six top-ten research institutions. This field has more research results in engineering, chemistry, physics, and environmental disciplines. In addition, this article summarizes dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) and titanium-containing catalysts, which represent the discharge characteristics and type of catalyst highlighted through the hot keywords. Background: Aflatoxins are fungal metabolites associated with contaminated food products. Intake of aflatoxin-contaminated food results in serious health hazards and even death. Therefore, the aim of this study is to evaluate the global scientific output of research of aflatoxin by using bibliometric techniques. Methods: This bibliometric study was conducted using Scopus database and classified the retrieved publications were classified from different aspects, including the countries/region of focus, journals, authors, institutes, citations, and content analysis to discover any hot and emerging topics. In addition, the bibliometric analysis of the international collaborative network and hot research topics were generated by VOSviewer© software version 1.6.10. The publication period was restricted in the search for two decades (1998–2017). Results: The search engine of the Scopus database found 9845 documents published in the field of aflatoxin. The USA is the top publishing source in the world (22.85%), followed by China (11.85%), India (9.32%), and Italy (5.25%). In earlier years, researchers focused on terms related to the topics of "sources and biosynthesis of aflatoxin", "health effects by aflatoxin", and "detoxification and treatment of aflatoxin". However, in recent years, researchers pay more attention to the topic of detection and quantification of aflatoxin. Conclusions: The quantity of research in global aflatoxin has substantially increased over the past two decades. The evaluation of the historical status and development trend in aflatoxin scientific research can guide future research, and ultimately provide the basis for improving management procedures for governmental decisions, healthcare, industries, and educational institutions.
