Academic research is crucial to the development of science and technology and is an important factor that affects national strength. When writing an academic research paper, a rhetorical structure is typically used to present the paper's ideas, but this task is quite difficult for junior researchers. To solve this problem, some studies have adopted text mining to assist with the writing, but the existing methods still require human intervention to generate sentences. Recently, due to the increasing maturity of deep learning technology and the ability to address the problem of automatic text generation, progress has been made in this area. The highly complex deep learning operations can correctly generate sequences and find correlations between sequences. When a user provides a few keywords and key sentences, the proposed algorithm can generate an introduction section for the user. The results show that the generated introduction is more coherent, clearer, and more fluent than existing summarization methods. In addition, the method proposed in this study improves the accuracy compared with traditional text extraction methods. Medical images acquired at different institutions have different data distributions due to varying scanners, imaging protocols, or patient cohorts. Thus, normalizing samples before using them to train the Deep Learning (DL) models is an essential task. Scholars have used various normalization methods to normalize mammograms. However, which normalization method works best on mammograms and if it can help training generalize the DL model has not been analyzed in the literature. This paper presents a comparative analysis of commonly used normalization methods, such as scaling, Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE), and Z-score normalization on mammograms for breast mass segmentation tasks. We trained the Attention Unet model on INbreast and the subset of the Cohort of Screen-Aged Women dataset (CSAW-S). We performed cross-dataset analysis on trained models to investigate how normalization methods helped train robust models to handle diverse datasets. Our results suggest that the normalizing method of input data affects the segmentation model's performance. We achieved the best scores with the Z-score normalization closely followed by CLAHE. However, further investigation suggests that the normalization method's performance may depend on the variability of mammograms in the dataset. Results of cross-dataset analysis suggest the importance of choosing the normalization method for consistent DL model performance. To our knowledge, this study represents the first systematic analysis of the performance of prevalent normalization techniques on a diverse dataset of mammogram images. This paper aims to address two significant challenges of Deep Learning(DL) model generation, high computational cost involved during the training phase and data interpretability from high dimensional data. The computational cost is curbed using centralized as well as distributed matrix factorization technique known as CUR decomposition. CUR decomposition has the advantage of reducing the dimensions of the dataset without data transformation and minimal information loss. Though Singular Value De-composition(SVD) is the best matrix decomposition technique with least reconstruction error, it transforms the data and hence the original data cannot be interpreted from the decomposed matrices while applying DL technique. So CUR decomposition is leveraged to reduce the number of features in high-dimensional data while preserving the essential information. Extensive experimental analysis is conducted to evaluate and compare the performance of CUR and SVD techniques based on reconstruction error and time complexity in centralized as well as distributed setting. The results exhibit that CUR outperforms SVD in terms of computational efficiency, especially in a distributed setting where the decomposition time for CUR was a fraction compared to SVD. At the same time DL models generated from this reduced dataset exhibit comparable accuracy with the original high dimensional dataset as well as reduced dataset obtained through SVD. This work also enhances the accessibility of the CUR algorithm to users, for which an application is developed that enables users to execute the algorithm on any dataset. Systems that can transform two-dimensional (2D) sketches into 3D models while performing structural analyses are necessary for architectural sketches. To address this challenge, this paper focuses on how deep-learning algorithms can aid in this transformation process. It presents a model that uses the instance-segmentation technique with Mask RCNN to detect and distinguish two types of short beams of reciprocal frame structures (RFs) in 2D sketches and uses this information in the systematic creation of a 3D model of RFs to conduct their structural analysis. The results indicate that the model is capable of clustering beam types in 2D sketches via masking and classifying, eliminating irrelevant background objects, creating parametric RFs using masking information, and performing structural analysis. The model, which helps optimise and ease the design process, can be used by architects or engineers. The trained algorithm using the virtual PCD was applied to a real bridge PCD. The segmentation of the bridge members showed high accuracy for the superstructure but low accuracy for the bearing. The segmentation accuracy of the algorithm including the bearing member could increase by modifying the density of PCD to account for the different sizes of bridge members. In view of the strong generalizability and self-learning capabilities of deep learning models, many scholars have studies how to apply deep learning theory in the pedestrian re-identification field. However, a number of problems persist in practically applying deep learning in this field, including determining how to make full use of the features of the sequence information in the salient region of an image and addressing the data gap between data-driven deep learning models and pedestrian re-identification tasks. In view of these problems, in this paper, a re-identification method is proposed based on a visual common attention mechanism. Initially, the method focuses on the local area of the image at the location specified by the given coordinates. Next, under the constraint of pedestrian image pairing tags, it focuses on the sequence of salient regions of image pairs based on deep learning techniques. Then, the global features and the local attention features are cascaded into joint features for use in pedestrian re-identification. To address the data gap between deep learning models and pedestrian re-identification, a new strategy for generating difficult positive samples is proposed primarily through a positive sample that mainly involves a positive sample generation network, a difficult positive sample conversion network, and a dual-stream twin network. We using this network, a large number of positive samples can be obtained to train the data-driven neural network and solve the re-identification task. The above ideas are combined to propose a pedestrian re-identification algorithm based on a visual attention-positive sample generation network deep learning model. The experimental results show that the method proposed in this paper not only achieves better recognition results than other deep learning methods, but also adapts well to a variety of databases. Shadow detection is a common computer vision task that identifies the location of shadows. It has been used as a key primitive for many high-level tasks such as object segmentation and video tracking. Due to the complexity and variety of shadows, it is challenging to design a one-size-fits-all shadow detection algorithm in real-world scenarios. Instead, it is often necessary in practice to pick the best shadow detection algorithm for a particular vision application. While shadow detection algorithms can be assessed by comparing the detected shadow with the ground truth, such ground truth is often unavailable in real-world vision systems consistently generating new data. In this paper, we propose a no-reference shadow detection quality assessment network (NSDQA-Net) to rank shadow detection algorithms without needing the ground truth. For a given image, the proposed assessment network first learns a reference map that compensates the false positives and false negatives of multiple input shadow detection algorithms. The reference map, as well as the original image and the input shadow detection results, are then used to regress the quality scores of the shadow detection methods. Our framework supports the assessment of one, two, or multiple algorithms in a single run, making it easier for deployment in practical scenarios. Experiments results show that the proposed network achieves optimal accuracy in no-reference shadow detection assessment. Relying on it for adaptive algorithm selection also improves the performance of shadow detection using a fixed algorithm on benchmark datasets. Estimating the pose of an uncooperative spacecraft is an important computer vision problem for enabling the deployment of automatic vision-based systems in orbit, with applications ranging from on-orbit servicing to space debris removal. Following the general trend in computer vision, more and more works have been focusing on leveraging Deep Learning (DL) methods to address this problem. However and despite promising research-stage results, major challenges preventing the use of such methods in real-life missions still stand in the way. In particular, the deployment of such computation-intensive algorithms is still under-investigated, while the performance drop when training on synthetic and testing on real images remains to mitigate. The primary goal of this survey is to describe the current DL-based methods for spacecraft pose estimation in a comprehensive manner. The secondary goal is to help define the limitations towards the effective deployment of DL-based spacecraft pose estimation solutions for reliable autonomous vision-based applications. To this end, the survey first summarises the existing algorithms according to two approaches: hybrid modular pipelines and direct end-to-end regression methods. A comparison of algorithms is presented not only in terms of pose accuracy but also with a focus on network architectures and models' sizes keeping potential deployment in mind. Then, current monocular spacecraft pose estimation datasets used to train and test these methods are discussed. The data generation methods: simulators and testbeds, the domain gap and the performance drop between synthetically generated and lab/space collected images and the potential solutions are also discussed. Accurate electric energy metering in micro-grid is one of the most urgent problems in the field of electric energy metering. In order to solve the problem that the lackness of electric energy metering can't be accurately calculated with the existing electric energy compensation algorithm when the electric energy metering device is completely faulty, this paper proposes an electric energy compensation algorithm that is limited in micro-grid and is based on standard particle swarm to optimize the deep belief network. Taking the historical electric energy data of each micro source metering point in micro-grid as an example, it is divided into the training set and the test set, the standard particle swarm optimization algorithm is used to determine the optimal learning layers and learning rate of deep belief network, and the electric energy algorithm model is established. The model verification results show that the proposed algorithm is nearly five times lower than the algorithm based on deep belief network solely. Further engineering case comparison shows that lackness of electric energy metering compensated by the algorithm studied in the paper is closer to the theoretical value, and the error is also less than the traditional average electricity algorithm. Deep learning models have achieved high performance across different domains, such as medical decision-making, autonomous vehicles, decision support systems, among many others. However, despite this success, the inner mechanisms of these models are opaque because their internal representations are too complex for a human to understand. This opacity makes it hard to understand the how or the why of the predictions of deep learning models. There has been a growing interest in model-agnostic methods that make deep learning models more transparent and explainable to humans. Some researchers recently argued that for a machine to achieve human-level explainability, this machine needs to provide human causally understandable explanations, also known as causability. A specific class of algorithms that have the potential to provide causability are counterfactuals. This paper presents an in-depth systematic review of the diverse existing literature on counterfactuals and causability for explainable artificial intelligence (AI). We performed a Latent Dirichlet topic modelling analysis (LDA) under a Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) framework to find the most relevant literature articles. This analysis yielded a novel taxonomy that considers the grounding theories of the surveyed algorithms, together with their underlying properties and applications to real-world data. Our research suggests that current model-agnostic counterfactual algorithms for explainable AI are not grounded on a causal theoretical formalism and, consequently, cannot promote causability to a human decision-maker. Furthermore, our findings suggest that the explanations derived from popular algorithms in the literature provide spurious correlations rather than cause/effects relationships, leading to sub-optimal, erroneous, or even biased explanations. The development of stereo matching algorithm is still one of the challenging problems, especially in ill-posed regions. Hence, this article presents a survey on the algorithm frameworks related to the stereo matching algorithm. Based on the early survey that had been conducted, two major frameworks available in current stereo matching algorithm development, they are traditional and artificial intelligence (AI) frameworks. Most of the traditional methods are very low accuracy compared to the AI-based approach. This can be observed in the standard benchmarking dataset, such as from the KITTI and the Middlebury, where AI methods rank at the top of the accuracy list. Additionally, the trend for solving computer vision problems uses AI or machine learning tools that become more apparent in recent years. Thus, this paper is focusing on the survey between the deep learning frameworks, which is one of the machine learning tools related to the convolutional neural network (CNN). Multi-exposure image fusion (MEF) is an important area in computer vision and has attracted increasing interests in recent years. Apart from conventional algorithms, deep learning techniques have also been applied to MEF. However, although many efforts have been made on developing MEF algorithms, the lack of benchmarking studies makes it difficult to perform fair and comprehensive performance comparison among MEF algorithms, thus hindering the development of this field significantly. In this paper, we fill this gap by proposing a benchmark of multi-exposure image fusion (MEFB), which consists of a test set of 100 image pairs, a code library of 21 algorithms, 20 evaluation metrics, 2100 fused images, and a software toolkit. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first benchmarking study in the field of MEF. This paper also gives a literature review on MEF methods with a focus on deep learning-based algorithms. Extensive experiments have been conducted using MEFB for comprehensive performance evaluation and for identifying effective algorithms. • The current 3D human body reconstruction technology requires a large number of 3D scanning equipment and a complex dynamic capture process, which significantly limits its rapid adoption in these application domains. The purpose of this article is to simplify the process of 3D reconstruction. • By combining deep learning methods, an end-to-end 3D human body reconstruction framework is proposed to achieve the goal of reconstructing a high-precision 3D human body model based on RGB images. The current 3D human body reconstruction technology requires complex external equipment to scan all angles of the human body, which is complicated to be implemented and cannot be popularized. In order to solve this problem, this paper applies deep learning models on reconstructing 3D human body based on monocular images. First of all, this paper uses Stacked Hourglass network to perform convolution operations on monocular images collected from different views. Then Multi-Layer Perceptrons (MLPs) are used to decode the encoded high-level images. The feature codes in the two views(main and side) are fused, and the interior and exterior points are classified by the fusion features, so as to obtain the corresponding 3D occupancy field. At last, the Marching Cube algorithm is used for 3D reconstruction with a specific threshold and then we use Laplace smoothing algorithm to remove artifacts. This paper proposes a dense sampling strategy based on the important joint points of the human body, which has a certain optimization effect on the realization of high-precision 3D reconstruction. The performance of the proposed scheme has been validated on the open source datasets, MGN dataset and the THuman dataset, provided by Tsinghua University. This paper presents an adaptive and new region proposal algorithm for generating high-quality regions. The main aim of this algorithm is to investigate different features in the proposal generation process. This algorithm is based on bottom-up image segmentation and deep learning techniques. Each primary region is represented by features derived from a convolutional neural network (CNN). The adjacent and similar regions are merged based on a new proposed searching algorithm and a distance function in a hierarchical way. Additionally, various hand-crafted texture features are examined for representing each region. These texture features are not being utilized previously in region proposal generation. This method also applied both texture-based and deep learning-based features, contemporaneously. Furthermore, the proposed region proposal algorithm was evaluated on two significant challenging datasets, including VOC2012 and COCO2017. The resulting proposals show more high-quality regions in high overlaps in comparison to previous region proposal algorithms. More importantly, the results verified that the deep learning-based features together with handcrafted texture features are complement and this fusion can overcome the shortcoming of other approaches. Additionally, the proposed region proposal algorithm is employed in weakly supervised semantic segmentation. The new generated proposals are used to create some new labeled masks. These masks are very useful and effective in the training phase of deep learning. This approach is evaluated on VOC2012 and compared with previous region-based and free region-based methods. Intelligent Fault-Tolerant Control (IFTC) refers to the applications of machine learning algorithms for fault diagnosis and design of Fault-Tolerant Control (FTC). The overall goal of the FTC is to accommodate defects in the system components while they are in use and maintain stability with little to no performance reduction. These systems are crucial for mission-critical and safety-related applications where the safety of people is at stake and service continuity is crucial. In this review paper, a systematic study has been done for the development of FTC with machine learning, deep learning, and transfer learning algorithms. The challenges and limitations faced with their possible solutions through machine learning theories for the IFTC model are lined up. This paper guides researchers on the different possible types of machine learning algorithms and their advanced forms like deep learning and transfer learning. The differences among these are highlighted by the challenges and limitations of each. The paper is significant such that most of the important literature references from the Scopus database particularly related to important electrical and mechanical industrial problems have been discussed to guide the researchers who want to apply IFTC for specific industrial problems, being the research gap. Path planning is an important research direction for studying machine intelligence. The main purpose is to search for a feasible path so that the robot can walk along the searched path in a complex environment. This paper aims to study the evolutionary algorithm of intelligent machines based on artificial intelligence. On the basis of introducing the characteristics of artificial potential field algorithm, the concept and characteristics of genetic algorithm, using genetic algorithm as the framework, the artificial potential field algorithm is combined with the crossover of genetic algorithm. In the operator, the optimization performance of the crossover operator is improved. The research results show that the length of the path obtained by the improved algorithm is shorter and better than that of the genetic algorithm of the single-point crossover operator. This paper presents a Text similarity detection method based on artificial intelligence and natural language processing. The method combines statistical machine learning and deep learning techniques and designs six models from three perspectives: character-level, word-level, and semantic-level. These models include the diff model based on machine learning, cosine similarity model, Jaccard model, TF-IDF model, as well as the SimCSE and SBERT models based on deep learning methods. To fully leverage the characteristics of these models, three scenarios are designed to calculate the similarity scores based on experience and multiple experimental results. The results show that calculating the similarity scores using these three scenarios not only achieves high accuracy but also requires fewer computational resources. However, the quality of medical images can often be degraded during image acquisition due to factors such as noise interference, artefacts, and poor illumination. This may lead to the misdiagnosis of medical conditions, which can further aggravate life threatening situations. Image enhancement is one of the most important technologies in the field of image processing, and its purpose is to improve the quality of images for specific applications. In general, the basic principle of image enhancement is to improve the quality and visual interpretability of an image so that it is more suitable for the specific applications and the observers. Over the last few decades, numerous image enhancement techniques have been proposed in the literature This study covers a systematic survey on existing state-of-the-art image enhancement techniques into broad classification of their algorithms. In addition, this paper summarises the datasets utilised in the literature for performing the experiments. Furthermore, an attention has been drawn towards several evaluation parameters for quantitative evaluation and compared different state-of-the-art algorithms for performance analysis on benchmark datasets. Lameness has a considerable influence on the welfare and health of dairy cows. Many attempts have been made to develop automatic lameness detection systems using computer vision technology. However, these detection methods are easily affected by the characteristics of individual cows, resulting in inaccurate detection of lameness. Therefore, this study explores an individualized lameness detection method for dairy cattle based on the supporting phase using computer vision. This approach is applied to eliminate the influence of the characteristics of individual cows and to detect lame cows and lame hooves. In this paper, the correlation coefficient between lameness and the supporting phase is calculated, a lameness detection algorithm based on the supporting phase is proposed, and the accuracy of the algorithm is verified. Additionally, the reliability of this method using computer vision technology is verified based on deep learning. One hundred naturally walking cows are selected from video data for analysis. The results show that the correlation between lameness and the supporting phase was 0.864; 96% of cows were correctly classified, and 93% of lame hooves were correctly detected using the supporting phase–based lameness detection algorithm. The mean average precision is 87.0%, and the number of frames per second is 83.3 when the Receptive Field Block Net Single Shot Detector deep learning network was used to detect the locations of cow hooves in the video. The results show that the supporting phase–based lameness detection method proposed in this paper can be used for the detection and classification of cow lameness and the detection of lame hooves with high accuracy. By allocating each object to one of the predefined categories, image classification deeply understands the attributes and features of the data on each object in the scene, and further mines the potential features and internal connections of the data, supporting the subsequent application decision-making with necessary structured data. One of the key challenges to image classification is how to accurately classify sparse data, when there is an imbalance between different categories of data, i.e., how to identify small objects in images. Recognizing a person in satellite images is such a challenging task. These objects are sparse either globally or in each recognizable local segment. Therefore, they are often overlooked by the classifier, or removed as noises. During deep learning, feature sparsity means the samples contain too much useless information, which suppresses the generalization and accuracy of the model. To solve the problem, this paper presents a spatial distance-based spatial clustering algorithm for sparse image data (SDBSCA-SID). Firstly, the imaging range of the image sensor constitutes a two-dimensional (2D) constraint space. Under the constraint, spatial clustering was carried out based on the features of each sample to aggregate dense data into primary categories, and aggregate sparse data and noises into secondary categories. Referring to the 2D constrained space, multiple spatial classification surfaces were constructed to aggregate the sparse data to the two sides of these surfaces as much as possible. If the error is minimized, then the sparse data belong to these classification surfaces. To shorten the convergence time of the clustering algorithm on imbalanced data, the original sample set was cut into slices, and assigned to several calculation units for separate clustering. Next, the same-class clusters were merged through reduction. Finally, the obtained class labels were compared with the preset class labels, wrapping up the semantic segmentation of images. The amount of network traffic generated from the Internet of Things (IoT) devices is massive which leads to Big data. In present scenario, IoT devices has taken a leap ahead in terms of growing technology and insecure network traffic flow. The sensitivity of the data in the IoT network is becoming very high, which concern the security in legal and privacy issues. Traditional Intrusion Detection System (IDS) is used as a primary line security to differentiate between the attack and benign network traffic flow. In this paper, we propose a big data platform based intrusion detection system which can differentiate between the types of network traffic flow generated from the IoT devices. Adversarial sample generation problem is a hot issue in the security field of deep learning. Evolutionary algorithm has been widely used to solve this problem in recent years because of its good global search ability. However, existing methods still suffer from the "curse of dimensionality" when attacking high-resolution images. In this paper, a two-stage frequency domain generation algorithm of black-box adversarial samples based on differential evolution is proposed. In the first stage, a representative image-guided differential evolution method is proposed to quickly generate a universal adversarial perturbation with a high attack success rate in the frequency-domain. In the second stage, a space reduction strategy based on frequency-domain pixel blocks is designed to reduce the search space and alleviate the problem of "curse of dimensionality". In addition, a new space–frequency interaction sensitivity measure is introduced to evaluate the similarity between the adversarial samples and the original images. The adversarial perturbations obtained by the measure are more in line with the subjective perception of the human eye. With rising data security concerns, privacy preserving machine learning (ML) methods have become a key research topic. Federated learning (FL) is one such approach which has gained a lot of attention recently as it offers greater data security in ML tasks. Substantial research has already been done on different aggregation methods, personalized FL algorithms etc. However, insufficient work has been done to identify the effects different model update strategies (concurrent FL, incremental FL, etc.) have on federated model performance. This paper presents results of extensive FL simulations run on multiple datasets with different conditions in order to determine the efficiency of 4 different FL model update strategies: concurrent, semi-concurrent, incremental, and cyclic-incremental. In recent years, the application of deep neural networks in the field of image classification has become increasingly widespread. However, existing researches have exposed the inherent vulnerabilities and opacity of these network models, rendering them susceptible to carefully crafted adversarial attacks. This poses significant security risks to their practical deployment. Given that the majority of models in real-world applications operate in a black-box manner, current research on black-box attacks targeting classification models remains inadequate, facing significant challenges such as incomplete robustness evaluations, low success rates of black-box attacks, and excessive resource consumption during the attack process. To address these challenges, this paper innovatively proposes a black-box attack algorithm based on a cycle-consistent generative network. This algorithm directly generates adversarial perturbations through a generative network that integrates an attention mechanism, deeply learning the complex relationship between adversarial samples and clean sample data. It supports both targeted and untargeted attack modes. Experimental validation on the SAT dataset demonstrates that our method achieves an average white-box attack success rate exceeding 96% in classification tasks and an average success rate of up to 69.4% in black-box transfer attacks, exhibiting excellent transferability across different models. Deep learning has achieved greater success in optimizing solutions associated with Artificial Intelligence (AI). In the financial domain, it is widely used for stock market prediction, trade execution strategies and portfolio optimization. Stock market prediction is a very significant use case in this domain. Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) with advanced AI models have gained significance of late. However, it is used in image-image-translation and other computer vision scenarios. GANs are not used much for stock market prediction due to its difficulty in setting the right set of hyperparameters. In this paper, overcome this problem with reinforcement learning and Bayesian optimization. A deep learning framework based on GAN, named Stock-GAN, is implemented with generator and discriminator. The former is realized with LSTM, a variant of Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), while the latter uses Convolutional Neural Network. An algorithm named Generative Adversarial Network based Hybrid Prediction Algorithm (GAN-HPA) is proposed. Detecting anomalies in telemetry data captured on-board a spacecraft is critical to ensure its safe operation. Although there exist various techniques for automatically detecting point, contextual, and collective anomalies from time-series data, quantifying their performance remains under-researched. In this paper, we thoroughly validate our approach for the task of anomalous event detection that is built upon a two-stage technique, in which the telemetry signal is predicted using a long short-term memory network based on the historical data, and then the prediction is compared with the actual (captured) data. If the difference between those two is sufficiently large, we can infer that an anomalous event has happened. To evaluate the capabilities of such detection techniques over the simulated and benchmark time-series data, we investigate a set of commonly used metrics obtained for a range of anomaly detection approaches, and present their shortcomings, especially related to their inability of capturing the temporal aspects of the detectors. We tackle this issue by introducing new quality metrics which enable us to objectively verify if the detectors can timely spot the anomalies in sequential data. The experimental study showed that inferring the conclusions based on a subset of metrics can lead to biased observations, as the best algorithms determined based on the overlap metrics, including the Dice coefficient, do not necessarily correspond to the algorithms that offer the fastest detection. To improve the performance of data fusion in wireless sensor networks, based on the suboptimal network powered deep learning model, a data fusion algorithm that combines a stacked autoencoder (SAE) and a clustering protocol is proposed. The fusion algorithm for sensor data is investigated by suboptimal network powered deep learning to analyse the fusion processing at the sensor measurement level and the fusion processing at the localization result level. This paper establishes a suboptimal network powered deep learning model and derives its weighted least squares solution algorithm based on this model, also, the best linear unbiased estimation method for fusion of vibration sensor and vision sensor localization results is adopted. Text classification is a technique that automatically classifies and labels text according to certain rules, and is widely used in sentiment analysis, intelligent recommendation systems and intelligent question and answer systems. Deep learning-based text classification methods can automatically identify and extract features in text that are useful for classification, so that it can analyse the text content directly, saving a lot of labour costs required for manual feature extraction. In this paper, the TF-IDF algorithm and the input structure of bidirectional LSTM was modified. Specifically, we rewrote the TF-IDF formula and processed the texts with a sliding window. The word2vec vector was used as the word embedding layer, and the text features were extracted using a combination of bidirectional LSTM and Text-CNN for classification prediction. Bidirectional LSTM treats texts as sequences to grasp information as a whole, while Text-CNN can extract local important features at the sentence level. As a result, good accuracy was achieved. Driving in the wrong direction is one of the main reasons that cause road accidents in Thailand. To efficiently detect wrong direction driving vehicles, we proposed a system that can track those moving vehicles from CCTVs using deep learning and image processing techniques. Our proposed system is composed of two main algorithms: Road Lane Boundary detection from CCTV algorithm (RLB-CCTV) and Majority-Based Correct Direction Detection algorithm (MBCDD). In this paper, we introduced the RLB-CCTV algorithm and the enhanced version of MBCDD algorithms for detecting road boundaries and wrong-direction driving vehicles. The primary purpose of this paper is to realize robust place recognition algorithms towards simultaneous viewpoint and condition changes, and provide satisfactory computational efficiency. In this paper, we significantly improve the viewpoint invariance of the SeqSLAM algorithm by using state-of-the-art deep learning techniques to generate robust feature representations of images and develop the SeqCNNSLAM . Experimental results show that SeqCNNSLAM outperforms state-of-the-art place recognition systems in most cases, such as, when precision is maintained at 100%, the maximum recall obtained by SeqCNNSLAM is 50% higher than SeqSLAM on the Norland dataset with simultaneous condition change and 12.5% viewpoint change. Besides, we develop an acceleration method called A-SeqCNNSLAM , which exploits the location relationship between the matching images of adjacent images to reduce the matching range of the current image. Experimental results demonstrate that an acceleration of  ∼  5 times is achieved with minimal accuracy degradation of  ∼  5%. This paper introduces a deep learning method for image classification that leverages knowledge formalized as a graph created from information represented by pairs attribute/value. The proposed method investigates a loss function that adaptively combines the classical cross-entropy commonly used in deep learning with a novel penalty function. The novel loss function is derived from the representation of nodes after embedding the knowledge graph and incorporates the proximity between class and image nodes. Its formulation enables the model to focus on identifying the boundary between the most challenging classes to distinguish. Experimental results on several image databases demonstrate improved performance compared to state-of-the-art methods, including classical deep learning algorithms and recent algorithms that incorporate knowledge represented by a graph. This paper proposes a new model for creating fuzzy time series and conducting future forecasts using the Bi-directional Long Short-term Memory model (Bi-LSTM). This study contributes by using both classical machine learning and deep learning techniques. Firstly, a self-updating clustering algorithm is used to determine the optimal number of clusters for time series. Secondly, the study describes a method for determining the fuzzy relationship between elements of time series and the identified clusters. Thirdly, the developed model creates the fuzzy time series based on the established rules. Finally, forecasting for the future value using the Bi-LSTM model with some improvement in optimizing the parameters and increasing the accuracy of forecasting result. The steps of the proposed model are clearly illustrated by a numerical example. Moreover, this model also tested on various datasets, including M3, M4, and M5 datasets. By evaluating its performance using parameters such as sMAPE and RMSSE, the proposed model has shown significant enhancements when compared to existing models. The final set of articles is divided into three main categories: Deep Learning (DL) based finger vein recognition, Presentation Attack Detection (PAD), and Multimodal-based finger vein authentication system. Deep learning-based finger vein recognition techniques are further sub-divided into pre-processing (Quality assessment and enhancement) based, feature extraction based, and feature extraction and recognition based schemes. Presentation attack detection methods are sub-divided into software-based and hardware-based approaches. Multimodal-based finger vein biometric system is sub-categorized into feature level fusion, matching level fusion, and hybrid fusion methods. Natural scene text detection has an important role to play in getting textual information from natural scenes. With the continuous development of deep learning, natural scene text detection methods are emerging and achieving better results on detection tasks. In this paper, analysis, and summary of the current stage of deep learning-based text algorithms for natural scenes, can be divided into two types: region of the proposal and semantic segmentation, and the content of these two series of related algorithms is described. Detecting and monitoring underwater organisms is very important for sea aquaculture. The human eye struggles to quickly distinguish between aquatic species due to their variety and dense dispersion. In this paper, a deep learning object detection algorithm based on YOLOv7 is used to design a new network, called Underwater-YOLOv7 (U-YOLOv7), for underwater organism detection. This model satisfies the requirements with regards to both speed and accuracy. First, a network combining CrossConv and an efficient squeeze-excitation module is created. This network increases the extraction of channel information while reducing parameters and enhancing the feature fusion of the network. Second, a lightweight Content-Aware ReAssembly of FEatures (CARAFE) operator is used to obtain more semantic information about underwater images before feature fusion. A 3D attention mechanism is incorporated to improve the anti-interference ability of the model in underwater recognition. Finally, a decoupling head using hybrid convolution is designed to accelerate convergence and improve the accuracy of underwater detection. The results show that the network proposed in this paper obtains an improvement of 3.2% in accuracy, 2.3% in recall, and 2.8% in the mean average precision value and runs at up to 179 fps, far outperforming other advanced networks. Hybrid quantum machine learning (QML) algorithms have potentials for current quantum computing technologies since only part of the model is computed by a quantum device. This paper proposes a novel hybrid quantum-classical deep learning model for cybersecurity application: domain generation algorithms (DGA)-based botnet detection. We analyzed our hybrid model's performance compared with the classical model counterpart to investigate the quantum circuit's effectivity as a layer in a deep learning model. We used four features of the Botnet DGA dataset: MinREBotnets, CharLength, TreeNewFeature, and nGramReputation_Alexa. The hybrid model's quantum circuit is a combination of Pennylane's embedding (Angle Embedding and IQP Embedding) and layers circuit (Basic Entangler Layers, Random Layers, and Strongly Entangling Layers). Also, we implemented noise models for assessing the applicability of the model for current Noisy Intermediate Scale Quantum (NISQ) technology. We found that in some cases, the hybrid model reached high performance (maximum accuracy up to 94,7% using n= 100; 93,9% using n= 1,000). We discovered that the combination of Angle Embedding and Strongly Entangled delivers high accuracy, superior to the classical deep learning model in n= 100 experiments). The conventional diagnostic process and tools of cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy (CAN) can easily identify the two main categories of the condition: severe/definite CAN and normal/healthy without CAN. Conventional techniques encounter significant challenges when identifying CAN in its early or atypical stages due to the inherent imbalanced and incompleteness condition in the collected clinical multimodal data, including electrocardiogram (ECG) data from ECG sensors, blood chemistry, podiatry, and endocrinology features. Therefore, most detection tools and techniques are limited to binary CAN classification. However, early diagnosis of CAN or diagnosis of the atypical stages of CAN is more important than the diagnosis of severe CAN, which, in fact, is easily identifiable with a few diagnostic reports. In this paper, we propose a novel multi-class classification approach for timely CAN detection. The proposed classification algorithm develops a multistage fusion model by combining feature selection and multimodal feature fusion techniques. The proposed method develops a performance criterion-based feature selection technique to guarantee highly significant features. A multimodal feature fusion technique was developed using deep learning feature fusion and selected original features. The experimental results obtained from testing with a large CAN dataset indicate that the proposed algorithm significantly improved the diagnostic accuracy of CAN compared to conventional Ewing battery features. An approach is presented that generalize OCR task including polish letters using deep learning technique. The paper extends EMNIST dataset so that two new classes of polish diacritics "Ą" and "Ć" are attached. Using this new dataset and deep learning technique one can analyze sensitives of standard as well as presented extended approach with different parameters of convolutional neural network. The analysis of the results shows that the shadows and noises that Polish characters, leave with their hooks leads, can be properly recognized and two similar letters "A" and "Ą" can be distinguished by convolutional neural network. The pandemic of Covid-19 has caused a shift of paradigm of education, from face-to-face to e-learning. E-learning leads to an escalation in digitalization of handwritten documents because it requires submission of homework and assignments through online. To help teachers in checking digitalized handwritten homework, this paper proposes an automatic checking system based on a convolutional neural network (CNN) for handwritten numeral recognition. The CNN is used to recognize four arithmetic operations in mathematical questions consisting of addition, deduction, multiplication and division. The performance CNN in handwritten numeral recognition have been optimized in terms of activation function and gradient descent algorithm. The proposed CNN is also trained and tested with the MNIST handwritten data set. Object detection is a hot and popular research area in computer vision. Although object detection algorithm will be greatly speeding up with Deep Neural Networks, like YOLOv3 Object Detector, its performance in accuracy and precision was not satisfactory in small object detection which has less than 1% area in one image. We present a deep learning-based method for Visible-Infrared person Re-Identification (VI-ReID). The major contribution lies in the incorporation of co-segmentation into a multi-task learning framework for VI-ReID, where the co-segmentation concept aids in making the distributions of RGB images and IR images the same for the same identity but diverse for different identities. Accordingly, a novel multi-task learning based model, i.e., co-segmentation assisted VI-ReID (CSVI), is proposed in this paper. Specifically, the co-segmentation network first takes as the inputs the modality-shared features extracted from a set of RGB and IR images by using the VI-ReID model. Then, it exploits their semantic similarities for predicting the person masks of the common identities within the input RGB and IR images by using a cross-modality center based weight generation module and a segmentation decoder. Doing so enables the VI-ReID model to extract more additional modality-shared shape features for boosting performance. Meanwhile, the co-segmentation network implicitly establishes the interactions among the set of RGB and IR images, thus further bridging the large modality discrepancies. Most image inpainting algorithms have problems such as fuzzy images, texture distortion and semantic inaccuracy, and the image inpainting effect is limited when processing photos with large missing sections and resolution levels. The paper proposes an effective image inpainting algorithm via partial multi-scale channel attention mechanism and deep neural networks to address the above phenomenon that existing image inpainting methods using deep learning modules have insufficient perception and representation capabilities for multi-scale features with high proportion of irregular defects. Initially, we used the Res-U-Net module as a generator. The U-Net-like backbone network topology can achieve the encoding and decoding stages of damaged images. Secondly, the residual network structure was built in the encoder and decoder to improve the ability of the proposed network to extract and display the features of the damaged images. Finally, the partial multi-scale channel attention module was inserted in the skip connection with the decoder to increase the efficiency of using the low-level features of the original images. As the development of the Internet and IT technology, short-text based communication is so popular compared with voice based one. Chat-based communication enables rapid, short and massive exchange of message with many people, creates new social problems. 'Cross-texting' is one of them. It refers to accidentally sending a text to an unintended person during the concurrent conversations with separated multiple people. Cross-texting would be a serious problem in languages where respectful expressions are required. As text-based communication is getting popular, it is a crucial work to prevent cross-texting by detecting it in advance in languages with honorifics expression such as Korean. In this paper, we proposed two methods detecting a cross-text using a deep learning model. The first model is the formal feature vector, which models dialog by explicitly defining the politeness and completeness features. The second one is the grpah2vec based ChatGram-net model, which models the dialog based on the syllable occurrence relationship. To evaluate the detection performance, we suggest a generating method for cross-text datasets from a actual messenger corpus. Financial markets play an important role on the economical and social organization of modern society. In these kinds of markets, information is an invaluable asset. However, with the modernization of the financial transactions and the information systems, the large amount of information available for a trader can make prohibitive the analysis of a financial asset. In the last decades, many researchers have attempted to develop computational intelligent methods and algorithms to support the decision-making in different financial market segments. In the literature, there is a huge number of scientific papers that investigate the use of computational intelligence techniques to solve financial market problems. However, only few studies have focused on review the literature of this topic. Most of the existing review articles have a limited scope, either by focusing on a specific financial market application or by focusing on a family of machine learning algorithms. This paper presents a review of the application of several computational intelligent methods in several financial applications. This paper gives an overview of the most important primary studies published from 2009 to 2015, which cover techniques for preprocessing and clustering of financial data, for forecasting future market movements, for mining financial text information, among others. The main contributions of this paper are: (i) a comprehensive review of the literature of this field, (ii) the definition of a systematic procedure for guiding the task of building an intelligent trading system and (iii) a discussion about the main challenges and open problems in this scientific field. In this paper, an unsupervised learning-based approach is presented for fusing bracketed exposures into high-quality images that avoids the need for interim conversion to intermediate high dynamic range (HDR) images. As an objective quality measure – the colored multi-exposure fusion structural similarity index measure (MEF-SSIMc) – is optimized to update the network parameters, the unsupervised learning can be realized without using any ground truth (GT) images. Furthermore, an unreferenced gradient fidelity term is added in the loss function to recover and supplement the image information for the fused image. As shown in the experiments, the proposed algorithm performs well in terms of structure, texture, and color. In particular, it maintains the order of variations in the original image brightness and suppresses edge blurring and halo effects, and it also produces good visual effects that have good quantitative evaluation indicators. Metric learning is one of the important ways to improve the person re-identification (ReID) accurate, of which triplet loss is the most effect metric learning method. However, triplet loss only ranks the extracted feature at the end of the network, in this paper, we propose a multilevel metric rank match (MMRM) method, which ranks the extracted feature on multilevel of the network. At each rank level, the extracted features are ranked to find the hard sample pairs and the backward dissemination triplet loss. Each rank level has different penalize value to adjust the network, in which the value is bigger with the deeper level of the whole network. Experiment results on CUHK03, Market1501 and DukeMTMC datasets indicate that The MMRM algorithm can outperform the previous state-of-the-arts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: The application of artificial intelligence to interpret the electrocardiogram (ECG) has predominantly included the use of knowledge engineered rule-based algorithms which have become widely used today in clinical practice. However, over recent decades, there has been a steady increase in the number of research studies that are using machine learning (ML) to read or interrogate ECG data.Objective: The aim of this study is to review the use of ML with ECG data using a time series approach.Methods: Papers that address the subject of ML and the ECG were identified by systematically searching databases that archive papers from January 1995 to October 2019. Time series analysis was used to study the changing popularity of the different types of ML algorithms that have been used with ECG data over the past two decades. Finally, a meta-analysis of how various ML techniques performed for various diagnostic classifications was also undertaken.Results: A total of 757 papers was identified. Based on results, the use of ML with ECG data started to increase sharply (p < 0.001) from 2012. Healthcare applications, especially in heart abnormality classification, were the most common application of ML when using ECG data (p < 0.001). However, many new emerging applications include using ML and the ECG for biometrics and driver drowsiness. The support vector machine was the technique of choice for a decade. However, since 2018, deep learning has been trending upwards and is likely to be the leading technique in the coming few years. Despite the accuracy paradox, accuracy was the most frequently used metric in the studies reviewed, followed by sensitivity, specificity, F1 score and then AUC.Conclusion: Applying ML using ECG data has shown promise. Data scientists and physicians should collaborate to ensure that clinical knowledge is being applied appropriately and is informing the design of ML algorithms. Data scientists also need to consider knowledge guided feature engineering and the explicability of the ML algorithm as well as being transparent in the algorithm's performance to appropriately calibrate human-AI trust.
