With the rapid expansion of university research budget both in amount and scale, the input-output efficiency has become a focus of research interest. Based on the analysis of the latest researches concerned, this paper is intended to investigate the advantages of applying BSC to constructing an input-output efficiency evaluation system for scientific research in universities. In addition, this paper aims to construct a strategy map and an index system by means of BSC. The system is tested using Digital Storage Oscilloscope (DSO) (Model: Tektronix TDS 1012B; 1GS/Sec). We also simulate the system using Circuit Maker's Berkeley SPICE3f5/XSpice-based simulator. The paper highlights the specific problems raised by distributed systems programming and also the way in which these particularities have influenced the definition of new programming languages, specially dedicated for this type of programming. Chapter 9 of the book "Fire & Ice: Igniting and Channeling Passion in New Qualitative Researchers," by Carol A. Mullen is presented. It presents a two-year pedagogical experiment in which 123 masteral students and ethnically diverse teachers from Florida participated. In the staff common room, the author met a professor who had helped him with his first research in Kyushu Region, Japan over ten years previously. He had travelled all day to be there, and felt very honoured, though a little more nervous. His research had continued in much the same direction, meticulous and careful, and the author wondered how he would feel about the author's hastily penned piece. The author was introduced to professors and among them was a well-known religious studies specialist who was co-editing a book related to retirement.

This is a preface to Cicero's Knowledge of the Peripatos, a volume of Rutgers University Studies in Classical Humanities, which deals with Cicero, orator and writer of the late Roman Republic. Since Cicero is an important source for understanding Hellenistic philosophy, and since his own treatises contain numerous references to Theophrastus, it was decided to hold a conference that considered Cicero in relation to the Peripatos.
