This paper applies a methodology for interdisciplinary Facilities Management (FM) by alingment between Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Lean. Initially, the literature review of BIM, FM and Lean principles. Afterwards, the research applies the Digital Obeya Room for improved FM and describes its application on a real-world case study. Lastly, the work presents a survey with specialists to assess the relevance of each BIM-Lean concepts and correlate their perceptions with the empirical results. The main collaborations of this work are: a conceptual framework that relates the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle with BIM-Lean approaches; the identification of the most relevant BIM functionalies and Lean principles; and the real-world application of the framework procedures on FM. Debates regarding sustainable management have become notorious, significant and pertinent to contemporary society. This perspective is justified by the fact that modern management should address concerns of a fully aware audience regarding limits to be imposed on the use of natural/cultural resources and the negative impact of operations on the environment and on society and individuals. Undoubtedly, this assumption is even more important in industries where the power of socioenvironmental, cultural and economic transformation is increasingly latent, such as in the case of hotels. First, this article introduces a bibliometric analysis that exposes sustainable criteria verified in current management models, which allows for an identification among hotel companies for a predisposition for environmental and external social responsibility. Second, a primary contribution lies in structuring more holistic criteria, integrated in the internal/external hotel organizational background, in a manner that will enable organizations to help protect the environment as well as sociocultural, political and economic aspects of society. The management of transport logistics in industries is a good opportunity to implement sustainable organizational management practices. All over the world, the great concentration of cargo transport by land modal raises the cost of sustainable management of transport logistics, favoring the development of models about the impact of Information Technology (IT) use. This article aims to analyze the perception of transport specialists regarding the degree of contribution of information technologies in the more sustainable management of transport logistics in industries from a sampling of transport logistics in a beverage industry operating in the American continent. The research methodology involved a case study with a focus group, addressing the relationship between information technology and sustainability. Within the same transport operation, benchmarking the effects of sustainable performance with the use of IT capability are also analysed. The results of the study indicate that, for the Southern region of the American Continent, existing technologies when used in the transport operation have a greater degree of contribution to sustainable management. Numerous events over the last six decades have made it necessary to reformulate the economic development models proposed by capitalism. In this context, sustainability has emerged with the aim of balancing corporate interests with stakeholders' needs. To facilitate this aim, organizations must build a productive management relationship with their stakeholders and thus understand the implications of their operations in all dimensions of sustainability. In this context, due to the potential negative environmental, cultural, and social impacts of tourism, hotels have a responsibility to act in a sustainable manner. Therefore, the objective of this research was to identify criteria against which hotels can measure their impacts. A quali-quantitative study was developed based on the following stages: (1) preparing a workshop that enabled the analysis of 66 possible criteria when designing sustainable hospitality; (2) understanding the degree of importance of each of these criteria based on a semistructured questionnaire applied to 177 professionals linked to the hotel market and academia; and (3) using software R to run a confirmatory factor analysis that validated 39 criteria distributed with regard to the following dimensions: environmental (11), social (10), cultural (4), economic (8), and political (6). Rising energy costs and the current concern about sustainability issues directly impact the competitiveness and survival of organizations, promoting the search for continuous improvement in industrial production processes. The present study, by identifying the absence in the literature of models based on Value Stream Mapping and integrated with Industry 4.0 technologies that promote better energy efficiency practices in industrial processes, proposes a new Lean Management model called Real-time Energy Flow Mapping. This innovative model, provide capabilities to a visual, digital and sustainable management system of all energy behavior in machines and equipment using fully parameterizable metrics and rules. Also, estimulating stakeholders with the ability to predict and monitor energy costs, as well as identify possible problems due to changes in the behavior of energy consumption in machines, thus helping managers to make decisions faster and more dynamically. As a result, the literature search turned up 17 Value Stream Mapping based models with a focus on energy efficiency, along with 31 metrics grouped on energy, environmental and production processes. After discussions by the Focus Groups, 16 resulting metrics were submitted to expert panel, in which the least relevant were discarded and the 13 most relevant classified using Fuzzy Delphi. An analysis to verify the interrelationships between the metrics is performed using the Fuzzy DEMATEL, being finally applied in the proposed model. A case study of the model was carried out, submitting it operationally at the LabFaber 4.0, empirically validating the study.
