Silver nanoparticles have shown inhibitory capabilities and its use in battling viral infections are strengthened by its potent antibacterial activity. Notably, since it directly affects antiviral efficacy, the proper choice of synthesis process for making silver nanoparticles is a vital element to be taken into consideration. The synthesis of silver nanoparticles for the treatment of viral and bacterial infections involves creating silver particles at the nanoscale with unique antimicrobial properties. Various methods exist for synthesizing silver nanoparticles, including chemical reduction, green synthesis, and physical methods. Chemical reduction involves using reducing agents to convert silver ions into silver nanoparticles. Green synthesis employs reducing agents in an environmentally friendly manner. Physical methods rely on techniques such as laser ablation or thermal evaporation to produce silver nanoparticles. In order to provide technological guidance for choosing antiviral silver nanoparticle manufacturing methods, this paper introduces and explores alternative synthesis methods for creating silver nanoparticles. In this study silver nanoparticles were dispersed over polyaniline nanofibers (nPANI) by simple chemical reduction of silver nitrate in the presence of nPANI, and the prepared nPANI/Ag nanocomposite was employed for sensitive and cost‐effective non‐enzymatic detection of glucose using a modified carbon paste electrode. Detailed structural, crystallographic and morphological characterization of nPANI/Ag was carried out by means of Fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy, X‐ray diffractometry and scanning electron microscopy. The enhancement of charge transfer of nPANI upon incorporation of Ag nanoparticles was confirmed by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and the electrocatalytic efficacy of the nPANI/Ag nanocomposite towards oxidation of glucose in alkaline medium was proven by cyclic voltammetry. Crucially, chronoamperometry demonstrated a linear response of the nPANI/Ag‐based glucose sensor over a wide range of glucose concentrations from 100 μM to 10 mM with a lowest detection limit of 1,3 μM. The sensor had a good selectivity for glucose in the presence of common interfering biomolecules. Non‐spherical Au/Ag nanoparticles can be generated by chemical reduction of silver ions in the presence of preformed gold nanoparticles. The process of particle formation can be controlled by concentrations of ligands and reducing agent. The formation of ellipsoidal, nanorod‐ and peanut‐shaped nanoparticles as well as of more complex fractal nanoassemblies can be explained by changes in particle surface state, electrochemical potential formation and particle‐internal self‐polarization effects. It is possible to create highly fractal nanoassemblies with sizes between the mid‐nanometer and the lower micrometer range. The assemblies are marked by high optical absorption and complex nano‐networks of very high surface‐to‐volume ratios and a granular base structure. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Tunable N‐doped carbon nanospheres from sucrose as carbon source and Tris(2‐aminoethyl)amine (TAEA) as nitrogen source by a simple and easily reproducible method were prepared. It was demonstrated that the tunable N‐doping of carbon spheres could be realized by altering the ratio of TAEA in the raw materials. The content of doped nitrogen, surface area, pore volume and pore size of carbon nanospheres were increased with the increasing of TAEA amount in the hydrothermal process. Prepared N‐doped carbon nanospheres act as solid ligand for anchoring of Ag NPs which generated via chemical reduction of Ag ions. Benzylic alcohols and aldehydes were converted into the aryl nitriles by using Ag/N‐CS‐1 nanospheres as the catalyst and O2 as the oxidant, efficiently. This catalyst was stable and could use for 6 successful runs.
