This thesis deals with pupils foreigners in Czech language lessons at the first stage of primary school, specifically it focuses on pupils with Ukrainian mother tongue and on pupils with Vietnamese mother tongue. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, the basic facts related to the education of pupils foreigners are described, including the most frequent mistakes which Ukrainians and Vietnamese make, regardless of their age group. The practical part is processed using qualitative research, which defines the research group of Ukrainian foreign pupils and the research group of Vietnamese pupils foreigners from the first stage of several primary schools. The most common mistakes in Czech made by members of each research group are analysed through continuous observation. These errors are further compared with the literature and also in between the two groups. The approach of the teachers to these two groups of pupils foreigners is also evaluated. The thesis deals mainly with the study of ways of spending leisure time of Vietnamese, as well as the conditions of Vietnamese arrival in the Czech Republic, historical events associated with it, the language situation, culture and lifestyle. The main aim of the work was to compare the results of a research survey of a part of the Vietnamese community living in the city of Milevsko with theoretical knowledge. Vietnamese respondents in the adult age category and the children and youth category were subjected to the research survey. The first chapter is devoted to the history and conditions of Vietnamese arrival in the Czech Republic. The second chapter deals with the Vietnamese language and writing, the acquisition of the Czech language by the Vietnamese and the language situation of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic. The third chapter focuses on family, intergenerational and interpersonal relationships, education, Vietnamese cuisine, religion, Vietnamese holidays and celebrations, behaviour and character traits, and the clan community. The fourth chapter deals with the lifestyle and leisure time of Vietnamese living in our country and Vietnamese living in Vietnam. The fifth chapter is devoted to the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic itself. The last sixth chapter contains its own research and following discussion. It was found that Vietnamese respondents living in the city of Milevsko basically do not spend their free time differently than other Czechs. Family and health play a vital role in the lives of all Vietnamese. They also attach high value to education and work, which is subsequently reflected in the way they spend their leisure time.

In the field of migration and development the economic impact of remittances is emphasized more often. The thesis examines remittances regarding social aspects as an important part of migration and development. The main aim is to understand the process of transfer of social remittances between Vietnamese living in the Czech Republic and their family members living in Vietnam. The important theoretical background of this thesis is the concept of social remittances. The process of transferring social remittances is scrutinized through semi- structured in-depth interviews with Vietnamese migrants and their family members in Vietnam. The paper describes the social remittances that are generated by transnational Vietnamese migrants in the Czech Republic and under what conditions the remittances were or were not accepted by their family members in Vietnam. The work uses a qualitative approach for data analysis that allows an insight into the lives of examined individuals. The results reflect the perspective of migrants and their family members. The subject matter of this undergraduate thesis is the ability of a paramedic to communicate with a foreigner. The theoretical part describes communication itself and it´s forms. It further deals with foreigners to be found in the Czech Republic and the very end includes information about the Emergency Medical Servis and paramedics. The practical part sets two subjectives. The first one is to determine the ability of a paramedic to communicate with a foreigner. The other to detect problems that might occur within such communication. The thesis uses the method of a semi-structured interview. The interviews were led with the Medical Rescue Servis of the South Bohemian Region´s paramedics and foreigners with no knowledge of the Czech language. The results were put in 5 and 9 categories, which helped to meet the objective. The results show that the interviewed paramedics are able to communicate with the foreigners by different means, sometimes with the help of various aids, their colleagues, witnesses of family members present at the place. The research also showed that the most common problem in communication with a foreigner is the language barrier. The main benefit of the thesis the awareness of problems that a paramedic can face in communication with foreigner and possible use various aids to make such communication easier.

The goal of the present paper is to detect stereotypes of students studying International Trade at the University of Economics Prague and, if need be, propose didactic measures for intercultural education at the university. In our study, 293 International Trade students described six ethnic and national groups (Roma, Ukrainians, Vietnamese, Russians, Germans and Czechs) in terms of explicit stereotypes. The following hypothesis was formulated in the study: On the one hand, stereotypes of the observed population refer to real existing intercultural differences; on the other hand, they refer to cultural complexes. An open questionnaire for stereotypes was used. The results match the formulated hypothesis well: stereotypes of the observed population refer to real existing intercultural differences as well as to cultural complexes. Intercultural differences are mostly reflected in the stereotypes about Germans. On the contrary, the least intercultural differences were found in the stereotypes about Ukrainians. The research points to a number of complexes projected onto ethnic and national groups (Roma, Germans and Russians). Practical implications for intercultural education are discussed in the paper.

The thesis informs about the procedures of Vietnamese government when selecting applicants for study and work stays in communist countries. Concretely I focused on Czechoslovakia, where I want to point out the clash of two cultures and finding of common communication. Describe the stories of people, what made them leave their families and friends. They went to foreign country of which they knew only is situated in Europe. The aim of this study of this study is to map the history and analyse the conditions for students and labourers admission from VSR. The methodolgical solutions will be made through field research and from gathered data, especially through interviews with participants who have been living during the communist era.

This bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of the influence of advertisement on consumer behavior of selected groups, specifically the younger generation of Czechs and Vietnamese living in the Czech republic. The thesis is divided into two main parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is devoted to defining terms used in marketing, advertising, consumer behavior and factors by which the consumer behavior is influenced. The practical part contains the characteristics of the selected groups and the evaluation of the online survey. The conclusion of this thesis gives the interpretation of the survey results focusing on the comparison of Czech and Vietnamese consumers.

The aim of the bachelors thesis is to create a business plan for establishing an online clothing store and based on the business plan, it will be decided whether it is possible to implement the idea in the reality. The online store would especially target a specific group of customers, who are the Vietnamese living in the Czech republic. In the theoretical part, the basic business terms and principles for creating a business plan are defined. Moreover it also explains the online stores creation, core of the business and promotion. The practical part contains the business plan including the Lean Canvas model. The business plan is mainly oriented on problems and needs of potencial customers. For that matter, a specific market research has been carried out and is also included in this document.

Present diploma thesis deals with perceptively noticeable deviations in realization of consonants in Czech of Vietnamese native speakers. The aim of the thesis is identification, characterization, categorization and quantification of the deviations from common Czech pronunciation according to specific ways of realization. In the theoretical part the consonant systems of both the languages and their syllabic structures are compared contrastively. The following chapter is dedicated to a short analysis of the pronunciation exercises and their didactic contribution in the most frequently used textbooks of Czech as a foreign language. Moreover, a textbook designated for Vietnamese speakers and an English textbook were analyzed for a better comparison. The research itself is based on an analysis of 16 records of Vietnamese native speakers by a method of careful listening in Praat program. The results have shown that the most frequent deviations in the speech of Vietnamese speakers were caused by interference from their mother tongue, especially because of the different consonant systems of Czech and Vietnamese and their different phonotactic rules. This dissertation is based on a narrative analysis of eighteen life biographies of children of Vietnamese descent in Czech Republic. It shows that these young people lives are embedded in a "transnational social space", which spans between two geographical regions of Vietnam and Czech Republic, and which leaves them exposed to a set of social expectations, cultural values and patterns of human interaction, that are shaped by more than one political, economic and social system. It also describes how these people, through multiple connected social networks and social relationships, transform cultural practices, interpretations, experiences and identities, which deconstructs the idea of integrity between place, identity and culture. Although the primary aim of the work is to analyse how children of Vietnamese operate in transnationalized social and cultural contexts, transnational practices, such as homeland visits, kinship ties and sending remittances are also being explored. In doing so the children of Vietnamese migrants are neither perceived as "existing in vacuum" nor are their identities described as "deterritorialized". This doctoral thesis is concerned with particles in modern Vietnamese. Although Vietnamese particles form a small group of synsemantic words, they play a very important role in expressing the attitude of the speaker to the hearer/listener and to the message content as well as expressing grammatical and modal relationships within the sentence. The group includes particles positioned at the end of the sentence, particles appearing before a word as well as at the beginning of a phrase or a sentence. Despite their important function, particles in Vietnamese still are a scarcely explored topic. Particles have been explored usually as part of grammar books; so far, there are only few monographs on the topic of particles. Almost all works deal with a small number of particles and focus especially on those appearing at the end of the sentence. This work is concerned with particles at the end of the sentence as well as particles preceding a word, a phrase, or a sentence. It examines whether particles in Vietnamese are a part of speech at all; it sets forth criteria for classification of particles; it performs their analysis based on actual situations where they appear and describes their semantic characteristics; furthermore, it offers a chart of particles including their possible combinations. The submitted thesis aims at identifying and defining barriers, variables, that determine different rate of integration of Vietnamese diaspora thorough generations into the Czech society in four dimensions of the integration process (structure, culture, interaction and identification). It identifies the role of the migrants themselves when creating and removing barriers to the integration.

The dissertation focuses on Vietnamese culture from the perspective of the Hofstede´s model of cultural dimensions and also describes its development and the factors that shaped it. Emphasis is laid on Vietnamese business etiquette, which includes previously discovered evidence of a Vietnamese way of thinking and acting. Attention is also paid to the characteristics of the Vietnamese minority in the Czech Republic, the static data related to this minority and evaluation of its integration. The goal of the research is to reveal the cultural differences between Vietnamese and Czech society and describe the influence of the Czech environment on original cultural values and habits of members of the Vietnamese minority in the Czech Republic.

The aim of this work is to clarify the integration of Vietnamese living in the Czech Republic as well as the associated reasons for their arrival in the country. The data obtained from a questionnaire survey, given to random group of respondents that minority, I compiled using graphs. Carried out a questionnaire survey, I found that the rate of integration is very small, especially among older generations. The contribution of this work is a proposal to raise awareness of this minority through outreach workers. This work is solved in the context of better relations, and increases the interest of minority integration between Vietnamese and Czech companies.

Creation of Home among Vietnamese living in Czech Republic Abstract The aim of this paper is to determine through an analysis of interviews how the migrants create such an environment to feel like at home in it. The paper is divided into five chapters. In the first part is review of selected concepts of migration and concepts of home. The second part describes the methodology and also are there introduced research participants. The third part describes how the Vietnamese came to the Czech Republic and how many are currently living in the Czech Republic. The last part contents the analysis of the interviews. The analysis showed that the family is, in host society, able to create a home through maintenance of religious customs, customs of eating and through material artifacts. The aim of this work is to review the literature focused on Czech as a foreign language and the teaching of Czech as a foreign language for native Vietnamese speakers. Furthermore, it will deal with the sociolinguistic analysis of the language situation of the Vietnamese minority in the Czech Republic, with regard to the language conditions in the granting of permanent residence on the territory of the Czech Republic.

We and They in the perspective of society and law This work reflects the attitude and perception of a Czech majority towards two different minorities i.e. Vietnamese and Roma. The main goal of this thesis is to describe the cultural aspects and specific values of these two minorities, to present an overview of factors that influence the way the majority and minority interact and live together. These factors are based either on legislation or on social psychological or sociological phenomena of these interactions. This work also tries to offer an answer to the questions regarding the causes of differences between these two minorities in the living together with the majority and if it is similar to the situation somewhere else in the world. Attention is also given to the role of law in facing these issues and solving the problems that arise for these minorities and if it is desirable and realistic to regulate the attitudes of minorities and majority towards each other. Résumé This thesis under the title Linguistic Representation of National Stereotypes in Czech Media and the Application of Cognitive Aspects in Teaching Czech deals with which national stereotypes (about Romani, Vietnamese and Russians) are present in the samples selected from Czech media and how these stereotypes are linguistically represented. The paper is based on the presumption that despite the principle of political correctness present in most of the journalists' code of ethics, it is not possible to avoid some manifestations of shared fixed images of nationalities (called stereotypes) in media. Furthermore, we argue that the media image of the world is based on the Linguistic Image of the World. The theoretical basis of the cognitive linguistics, especially the Prototype/Stereotype Theory and categorization as the way of understanding and assorting the world, were the main methodological sources. The goal of this paper is to analyse the development of the number of foreigners in the Czech Republic in between the years 1993 -- 2013. On top of that, the purpose is also to try to map the key drivers of such development and to compare the foreigners from Ukraine and Vietnam in selected areas. The paper consists of two parts. In the theoretical part I assess the definitions and descriptions of the basic concepts related to this topic. Analytical part is divided into four time-periods and is primarily based on the data from the Czech Statistical Office in the form of time series representing the development of the analysed field. In the individual periods I analyse the development of the number of foreigners in the Czech Republic, the number of long staying foreigners and compare the foreigners from Ukraine and Vietnam based on theirs demographical structure, economical activity and their share on the overall number of people in the Czech Republic.

This undergraduate thesis summarizes the basic motivation theory and knowledge that is available about the Vietnamese culture. The empirical section of this thesis is attempting to apply the revised translation of the PALS method. The results show that the reliability of the scales has most likely increased. At the same time, it is clear that some scales are still not functioning properly and therefore, it would be appropriate to think about how to edit them to create a more functional measuring tool for our environment.

The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to analyze subsequent integration of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the Czech Republic with the focus on Prague. Moreover, the thesis deals with the impacts of this integration. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the theoretical part I am trying to describe the history of the arrival of Vietnamese citizens to the Czech Republic and their subsequent integration. The Bachelor Thesis "Ethnoscapes and socioscapes: Prague in the experience of Vietnamese immigrants" is primarily focused on the Vietnamese community and its movement in Prague. It is inspired by a similar project connected to Walter Benjamin, who took notes on places where he lived during his stay in Paris. Even though the Vietnamese are very often repeated topic in the mass media I assume that the public is not adequately informed about this community. The work is based on qualitative research, which took place within five semi-structured narrative interviews in one Vietnamese family permanently living in Prague. The first part is concentrated on the history of Vietnamese immigration in Czech Republic and their current situation. It also discusses the theoretical basis and brings a brief definition of used terms. The second part examines more closely methodology and the progress of individual interviews. It also refers to the literature on this topic and the researches that has been already made. The last part describes more closely individual respondents and their movement in Prague, while also compares respondents with each other and tries to find some similarities, trends and characteristics. The PhD thesis 'Vietnamese in Czechia and the world: migration and adaptation tendencies' sheds light on the development of international migration of the Vietnamese since the mid 20th century to the present with special emphasis on Czechia as a country of destination. The main aim is to identify the key factors that initiate international migration of the Vietnamese and how they determine main directions of these movements, affect migrants' and non-migrants' expectations and determine adaptation strategies. In this respect, the methodology of the paper is based on the combination of macro-level and micro-level approaches. Therefore, the thesis brings an analysis of main structural factors encouraging international migration of the Vietnamese such as economic development, economic and political reforms Đổi Mới and pro-emigration policy of the Vietnamese government; and also an analysis of actors' personal interpretations of these factors. The key part of the thesis is also identifying the transformation of importance of these factors depending on the stage of migration and on the socio-economic-political context of migration or migration-decision making. The aim of the work are the Czech-Vietnamese relations in the district Prague-Libus. These relationships are examined within the residential integration. This work analyses the impact of the local marketplace Sapa on the residential situation and tries to confirm or refuse claims about the segregation Vietnamese community in this district. The first part focuses on the Vietnamese community in general. This part also describes the basic aspects and factors that may affect residential segregation. It contains a comparison of the concentration rates of the Vietnamese community in the various districts of Prague as well. Second part is based on qualitative and quantitative research methods. Using the direct interview to try to look closer to local residents on the issue and the methods of observation to try to analyze the rate of concentration in selected areas of the district. Based on available informations and my own research we can say that the district Prague-Libuš is more an economic enclave. Otherwise, the high concentration of Vietnamese community has an influence on the present situation in this district, but the residential inter-ethnic relations are not being affected meanwhile by this high concentration. The main aim of my thesis is to identify specifications of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the Czech Republic. In the introduction I'm briefly describing the thesis scope and what each particular chapter contains. The thesis itself is divided into two parts - the theoretical part and the practical part. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts related to the entrepreneurship, description of entrepreneur's personality and nature of Vietnamese people who live in the Czech Republic. The practical part includes analysis of data which were gathered by questionnaires filled by 46 Vietnamese entrepreneurs and trying to find a way to help them enhance their business.

The work deals with the analysis of internal migration of foreigners in the South Region. In this work is examined internal migration of three groups of foreigners. These groups are Ukrainians, Slovaks and Vietnamese. In the introductory part of this thesis is described the development of gradual migration of foreigners, their distribution and involvement in internal migration in the Czech Republic. This is followed by describing the South Region. This chapter describes the distribution of foreigners and are mentioned the possible factors that influence the decisions of foreigners. The main part of this thesis is a survey that examines the case of foreigners and their migration history. In this work, the region is defined by areas accessible to the community of České Budějovice and there are investigated differences inside and outside of the region. Thanks to questionnaire research we obtain information about the movement of foreigners as well as the motivation of these movements. Second and one-and-half generation of the Vietnamese migrants is a very specific part of the Vietnamese in the Czech Republic. There are several differences between the second and the first generation, i.e. between young Vietnamese and their parents. However, they are similar in many ways. The aim of this master thesis is to discuss the situation of the second and the one-and-half generation of the Vietnamese migrants in the Czech Republic and to show some of the differences between the young generation and the generation of their parents. This work also tries to check some of the well-known claims about the young Vietnamese in the Czech Republic. The work consists of two main parts. The first part is theoretical and it is based on the literature and other scientific resources. It deals with the history of Vietnamese coming to the Czech Republic. It explains how the second generation finds itself in the Czech Republic. There were several waves of the migration and each of them is different in many ways. This diploma work?s title is ?Special Characteristics of Nursing Care Documentation at Providing Foreign Patients with Nursing Care?. Nursing care documentation is very important, which statement represents general consent of all medical officers of health however the aforementioned nursing care documentation is rather complicated and disunited and uncoordinated. The greatest problem that appears here consists in needs being different taking into consideration culture, country, which the person (patient) comes from and the patient?s religion that the patient practices. Therefore it is important to bring order and consolidate all relevant pieces of information and think over nationwide use of this important data containing foreign patient characteristics. At present paying attention to this problem is worth not only noticing but also solving it because due to increasing migration to and within the Czech Republic territory it is expected that there will be a lot of different cultures as well as nationalities and medical personnel is expected high level of nursing care taking account of their needs. In the beginning there were set the following two goals: To ascertain whether the existing nursing documentation contains specific pieces of information necessary for providing nursing care for foreign patients and to determine whether it is necessary to make specific pieces information regarding foreign patients an integral part of nursing documentation. Three research questions were established at the same time then. The first research question focused on the fact whether the documentation having been used in hospitals was adapted to satisfy biological, psychical, social and spiritual needs of foreign patients. Thanks to the research question number two we made effort to ascertain and identify whether the documentation applied and being used in hospitals covers also the specific documentation oriented to foreign patients. The third and last research question solved the problem whether it is necessary that specific pieces of information dealing with foreign patients should be an integral part of nursing documentation. Inquiry check and examination were carried out by applying method of qualitative examination by means of non-standard interview and during the second part of interview data analysis was used. The research samples were represented by nurses working at hospital wards in the hospitals within South Bohemia Region, West Bohemia Region, Central Bohemia Region and North Moravia Region. Applying interview forms processed the pieces of information provided by nurses. The inquiry checks and examinations showed that the nursing documentation used in the hospital wards does not contain in sufficient scope the pieces of information oriented to the foreign patients and foreign clients which results in foreign patients and clients not satisfying biological, psychical, social and spiritual needs. It follows from this that nurses working at hospital wards do not have available and at their disposal the documentation related to the foreign clients and patients and dealing with the foreign clients? needs ? the existing nursing documentation is only one and it is applied and used for all hospital clients i.e. it is uniform. It is possible to make the conclusion that the first goal having been established has been met and the same hold good for the second one. In the connection and context with pieces of knowledge having been ascertained we should like to recommend that nurses working at hospital wards should have the possibility of getting familiar with multicultural nursing and it would be advisable and appropriate to provide nursing documentation oriented to foreign clients coming from foreign countries. It appears important from the point of view to satisfy the needs of these clients, which will bring nursing care new higher quality.

In my thesis I focused to foreigners in Czech Republic since 1993. The aim was to analyze the development and comparison of the number of foreigners from Vietnam and Poland, to describe what influences the migration to the CR and how it changes the demographic structure. I compared the development of several characteristics in the areas affected by immigration and examined whether changes or trends associated with migration are the same or different for migrants from Poland and vietnam. In the second part I used the statistical data obtained mainly from the ČSÚ, I adjusted it to the tables and graphs. I also used the statistical method of Box-Jenkins metodology to predict status of foreigners for the years 2011 -- 2012.

My work deals with possibilities of social work with Vietnamese labor immigrants to the Czech Republic. Due to huge number of Vietnamese labor immigrants, the Vietnamese community has grown remarkably, which has brought about new issues. In the theoretical part I write about the history and the present state of Vietnamese migration to the Czech Republic, their present situation in the Czech Republic, further I write about possible forms of social work with Vietnamese minority. In the practical part the study seeks to explore the most suitable form of social work with Vietnamese minority and what prevents Vietnamese community to accept the offered services.

The aim of this work is to describe the immigration policy of the Czech Republic, particularly in relation to citizens of Vietnam and to characterize the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic. This work is divided into four parts. The first part describes the theoretical basis of migration, that is why people migrate. In the second part there is a development of migration policy and migration from the 2nd half of the 20th century to the present. The third part is devoted to the situation of Vietnamese citizens in their homeland, the reasons for their migration and the approach of the Czech Republic to these immigrants. The last section describes the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic.
