At the beginning of this thesis some necessary information about Texas Hold'em will be remembered - game rules, the probability of winning at the flop and turn. The next chapter is about calculating expected value and about successability of players in the long run. In the final chapter we will focus at basic strategies that players can choose. The reader will know which terms influence the choice of an adequate strategy and why. The main message is to show that only mathematical skills - that a good player should have - are not enough. More important are skills associated with the poker itself. Poker skills are mainly thought of: adjusting the strategy by position, working with the stack, choosing the right amount of bets, matching the opponent's typology, and so on. Overall, the thesis is mainly focused on didactics. There is an effort to bring poker to the wider community, with real examples. The thesis is focused on masculinity and gender stereotypes in poker environment. The author studies how female poker players have entered the poker environment and what enabled them to do so. What problems did players encounter in the beginnings of their poker careers and how they dealt with these obstacles? Part of the work is also an analysis of gender- based stereotypes in poker environment encountered by female players. The author explains whether and how women adjust their competitive game strategy depending on whether they play against women or men. In the end the, the Author studies what is it like to be a female poker player rout of the casino space. How does their closest ones perceive this "strange" profession? How challenging is poker and are there any limitations for women playing poker? In the theoretical part, the author presents the theoretical basis of research, i.e., gender studies, gender stereotypes, feminity and masculinity, sociology of sport and provides a brief overview of the current sociological research of poker. The bachelor thesis deals with the behaviour of poker players, which can be encountered in the game of poker. In my work I am gradually engaged in non-verbal communication, verbal communication and the ethics of poker players. In the section of non-verbal communication, I analyse individual parts of the body from the most important for reading to the least important. I also deal with psychological effects that can greatly influence the behaviour of the players. In the section of verbal communication, I focus mainly on what verbal communication in poker can serve and how to use this knowledge. In the last part I present the issue of ethical behaviour. In the practical part I use the knowledge from my own research as well as the knowledge of the players who were willing to share with me their knowledge. The subject of this bachelors thesis is nonrationality of betting. The first part of thesis is discussing different instruments of risk evaluation. The second part is about Petersburg paradox. This thesis tries to find alternative solution to Petersburg paradox using two methods, the first method is based on repeating high amount of petersburg games. The second method is maximizing the probability of economic survival, which is based on wealth of the player and on bound of economic survival. In the third part of this thesis, Sportka (Czech lottery) is compared with special tournament of poker. The goal of this part is to compare the expected return of investment on playing Sportka and on playing poker without even basic notion about rules and the game strategy. For the estimation of the expected value of poker tournament, different game scenarios are considered, probability of scenarios are based on players behavior according to the Nash equilibrium. This thesis is devoted to one of the most popular card games: poker. The goal is to analyze lifestyle of a poker player. The theoretical part is focused on the most widespread variant of poker: Texas NL Holden. I also searched for connections between card games in general and gambling. Then there are provided some basis of lifestyle and related fields. Practical part is mostly about depth interviews with active and former czech poker players.

Main purpose of this thesis is to create agent for playing Texas Hold'em poker, which will be easily extensible by new inputs, outputs and game strategies. We present this firstly on input based on image recognition of client of chosen online poker site, secondly on simple game strategy based on expert system. Main working algorithm of agent will be encapsulated in single object and will run in separate thread. This will allow us to easily incorporate and manage agent from another programs, example way of managing and setting is presented on simple graphical application. This thesis aplied tools of economic analysis on situation in poker, where players choose to finish tournament or make a deal and take certain amount of money immediately. Theoretical frame consists of economic theories for decesion under risk and poker literature. Hypotheses are tested with regresion analysis on dataset which I obtain by my own observing. Estimations support hypothesis that players are risk-averze and loss-averze. In bigger tournaments are bigger prizepools and that is the reason, why players in bigger tournament make deals more often. Moreover deal is more likely, when players are approximetly equal skilled in poker.

Although Texas Hold'em is among the most popular poker variants, there are only a few effective ways to replace the human by a computer while playing it. Poker is a game with incomplete information, thus most of the approaches are complicated and they do not provide correct results most of the time. The goal of this work is to describe some of the theoretical approaches and implement some of them. To this end, a poker server and poker AI agents using some of the solutions were implemented. These agents were tested against each other to compare the performance of the different approaches to artificial intelligence in Texas hold'em poker.

This thesis deals with online gambling and specifics of the legislation, which is in the Czech Republic regulated mainly by the Act No. 202/1990, the Lottery Act. After short introduction of the field, there is provided analysis of the latest amendment to the Lottery Act No. 300/2011 and its impact on the poker industry, particularly the online poker industry. Emphasis is placed on the conditions laid down for obtaining a license to operate in lotteries and other similar games, the tax aspects of poker for both operators and players and suitability of inclusion poker under the regime of the Lottery Act. The issue of cross-border gambling is in the European Union closely studied and in the coming years there is to be expected extensive harmonization, which will be based on the fundamental principles of free movement of goods, services, people and capital. In connection with the forthcoming harmonization, the author addresses the issue of incompatibility of the Czech Lottery Act with European law and draws the same conclusion regarding the draft Act on the Operation of gambling, which was originally approved with effect from 1st January 2013. Based on previous works on application of prospect theory this paper try a similar procedure to prove the truth of prospect theory for poker players. Data are collected from online poker casino Pokerstars within a few days. These data, however, are not entirely opportune to test prospect theory, since it can not accurately determine the reference point for prospect theory. Looseness measurements confirmed findings of prospect theory. Players are risk seeking for loss and risk aversion for profit. This effect is more noticeable in losses than in equally high profits. And also players are feeling more actual losses and gains than earlier losses and gains. Measurement of aggression also confirmed prospect theory but are not significant. This may be due to the way aggression is measured, because players can simply substitute the aggressive actions by calling, which can also increase the risk. Also this paper fail to demonstrate that the most risk averse players can turn pritable after loss, which results in increased risk.

81 Abstract The thesis is focused on financial and legal aspects of lotteries and similar games with a special regard to poker layed down by act No. 202/1990 Coll., Act on Lotteries and Other Similar Games. Bets and games of chance are civil law parallels of lotteries and other similar games. Legislator doesnt provide them with the same margin of legal protection and determines them unenforceable. Lotteries and other similar games according to the Czech legislation have a characteristic element of chance. Author argues whether poker is a game of chance and tends towards the opinion, that poker doesnt fall within the scope of the lottery act in its current definition. Afterwards the thesis clarifies the legal requirements to obtain licence to operate lotteries and other similar games. Czech republic as a member of the European Union shall be subjekt to the european law, nevertheless Czech legislation prohibits the applicants for licence to have a foreign equity participation. Author therefore compares the decisions of the Court of Justice of the European Union on gambling and tends towards the opinion that Czech legislation is in conflict with the European law. This thesis examines impact of making aggresive moves on profit in big blinds obtained in hundred hands. With econometric analysis I have estimated two models. First general which contains only how often players choose aggressive moves. In second I have estimated impact of moves which are based on some advatage in different situations through the game. Variables which measures aggressive moves frequency had possitive coeffients in both models. So I think that aggression is profitable.
