ARCHITECTURAL aesthetics ,SMALL cities ,PROFESSIONAL employees ,PUBLIC spaces ,CONTRACTING out ,PUBLIC contracts - Abstract
In general, public spaces are what represents and symbolizes the city. Their design either enables or, to the contrary, complicates community life. Therefore, their appearance has an impact on the quality of life and satisfaction of the inhabitants. It is in public spaces where people relate to their place of residence. From a visitor’s point of view, public spaces are the first thing they notice and encounter. Due to various circumstances, public spaces sometimes fail to meet the abovementioned features or do not fulfill them to the degree they should. At such a moment, the town management decides on a total or partial transformation of its public space. It is in the interest of the municipal leadership to create attractive public spaces for its inhabitants. Attractive not only in terms of the aesthetics of the architectural design, but, more importantly, in the creation of a pleasant space that will primarily meet the needs of their future users i.e., residents or other groups of users. It is thus important to involve local people, representatives and members of associations, organizations and businesses in the preparation and creation of the study assignment. That is why CTU UCEEB has developed the Guidelines for Planning Public Spaces in Small Towns, which is an output of the research project Livable cities and communities: Guidelines for planning of public space in digital era. The research project was supported by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic through the ÉTA programme and its application guarantor is the Central Bohemian Innovation Center. The guidelines are the result of the collaboration of an interdisciplinary team of architects, urban planners, sociologists and psychologists, whose aim was to approach the research topic – planning public spaces from the perspective of municipal representatives – holistically and practically so that it is as comprehensible as possible for readers. Thus, the guidelines accompany representatives of small towns, who do not have the professional or personnel capacity to deal with public spaces, through the process of planning, preparation and contracting out the public spaces studies which leads to a quality assignment for a public space study. The guidelines also include tips for improving public spaces, recommended practices for public participation in planning the transformation of public spaces, and a site assessment form from a layperson’s perspective. The aim of the paper is to present the background and the result of the applied interdisciplinary research, which is the above-mentioned Guidelines for Planning Public Spaces in Small Cities, the process of its development and its validation, as well as to reflect on the experiences and findings carried out collaboratively by an urbanist and a sociologist. PATIENT compliance , *EMERGENCY medical services , *EPILEPSY , *PATIENTS' families , *PEOPLE with epilepsy , *PSYCHOGENIC nonepileptic seizures - Abstract
Psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES) are a specific disease that is correctly diagnosed and therefore explicitly distinguished from epilepsy with the usual latency of several years. The gold diagnostic standard is a long-term video- electroencephalographic examination, which, however, is not commonly available in present medical conditions. Misdiagnosis occurs usually in PNES patients with a history of psychotraumatization, whose seizure often have a dramatic course resembling a generalized epileptic seizure. With these patients, the summoned emergency medical service usually assume epileptic genesis due to a rapid clinical evaluation and a lack of anamnestic information and initiates treatment of epileptic status, thus challenging the diagnosis. Repeated reevaluation of the diagnosis and inconsistent conclusions may complicate psychological treatment and may lead to the cooperation of the patient. PNES, as an interdisciplinary disease, requires high demands on the expertise of the patient's therapists. Although the psychologist / psychotherapist has a crucial role in the PNES treatment, in the case of re-evaluation of the diagnosis, the psychologist / psychotherapist relies on the conclusions of doctors from the field of neurology, psychiatry or other specializations relevant for the patient. The submitted paper focuses on the description of the issues related to the psychological treatment of patients with PNES. Among the most common issues belong frequent challenging of the determined diagnosis by doctors, who are not experienced in PNES, which lead to the patient's low trust in the healthcare system, as well as non-acceptance of the diagnosis by patients and their relatives. The paper also discusses the possible solutions of mentioned issues, emphasizing the importance of establishing cooperation with the patient during the first contact, multidisciplinary cooperation, individual psychotherapeutic approach with patient and the patient's family. This thesis focuses on the forms and methods of support for individuals with mental illness aimed at helping them to return to normal life. The individual chapters of the thesis deal with the historical milestones of the emergence of psychiatry, the classification of mental illness and quality of life issues. Therefore, the most used therapeutic methods and strategies of working with clients are defined in the text, which lead to the adoption of appropriate daily habits, improvement of mental health and thus quality of life. The work also focuses on interdisciplinary cooperation, which, in addition to medicine, permeates other disciplines, namely psychology, social work and special education. The topic of my research is timely as an increasing number of people with mental illness are seeking professional help. Therefore, all team members should have sufficient knowledge of the symptomatology and nature of each psychiatric diagnosis. In order for interdisciplinary collaboration to be meaningful, the competencies of the individual professionals must be clearly defined. This creates an interconnected set of services aimed at making the person's integration into society and everyday life as easy as possible. Successful functional and esthetic rehabilitation and quality of life of maxillo-facial patients is based on effective interdisciplinary cooperation especially of surgeons, dentists and technicians. Mutilated defects occur during the first phase of the oncological surgery and immediately after injuries. Subsequent plastic surgery is the initial step of functional reconstruction and creates the base for future construction of the implant-born epithesis and post-operative dentures. Several case reports demonstrate complex rehabilitation of typical maxillofacial defects solved within the interdisciplinary cooperation.

A general nurse may, without clinical supervision, administer medicinal products with the exception of intravenous injections (IV) or infusions in newborns and children under 3 years of age and with the exception of radiopharmaceuticals. This activity is regulated in Decree No. 55/2011 Coll. by Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic. The preparation and administration of the medicinal product is an integral part of the everyday practice of a l nurse; however, the dimensions of this procedure are very broad, and it does not start and end with the administration of the prescribed medicinal product. In the wider context, this is a multi-disciplinary process, in which other health professionals can participate with their well-founded roles. Determining individual roles and collaboration in the multi-disciplinary team composed of a doctor, a nurse and a clinical pharmacist has an effect on the correct pharmacological treatment of the patient. Of all professions, nurses spend time with patients. 40 % of their time administering medications; therefore, they play a key role in the reduction of medication errors. (Miller et all, 2016). The aim of the research is to analyze the current role of the nurse in the administration of medicinal products from the perspective of a clinical pharmacist. The research...

Early care is a field social service, which provides necessary help and support to parents with a handicapped child. It offers the family many options and, besides other things, valuable advice about the correct early care of a child with a disability. Early care is very important and it needs to be provided within a multidisciplinary team of experts. Nevertheless, cooperation with doctors and with especially paediatricians is not ideal and sometimes, unfortunately, not even real.Qualitative research was chosen to achieve the aims of this diploma thesis. As a method of data collection, the method of questioning was chosen, which took place with individual informants using semi-structured interviews. The data were processed by the technique of grounded theory using three-step coding and determination of grounded statements. The data, which complements the whole empirical part of the diploma thesis, were graphically represented in the ATLAS.ti software programme. The analysis of the data revealed that early care workers consider cooperation in coordinated rehabilitation to be an important part of their professional activities. The results revealed that there are a total of seven early care providers in the South Bohemian Region who have different experiences of cooperation with individual professionals, doctors, and paediatricians. The biggest problem of early care is a difficult establishment of cooperation with paediatricians, who do not refer their patients' parents to the use of early care services. On the contrary, some early care workers revealed that there are also collaborations with medics that are very good and beneficial. Within the bounds of coordinated rehabilitation, early care also cooperates with other entities with which they have very well-established cooperation. This diploma thesis may serve as an informative material not only for early care providers but also for the paediatricians themselves, other health professionals, professionals, or other entities.

- Abstract
Catheter-based (endovascular) thrombectomy is class I.A indication for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke. However, its availability in most countries is extremely low due to the lack of trained staff. Even the countries with best stroke services (e.g. Czech Republic) currently treat only one third of patients, who would be indicated to such therapy and in many countries the treatment simply is not available. It is estimated, that on the European level only 10% of the suitable patients are currently treated. This review manuscript is written by representatives of the three main specializations dealing with acute ischemic stroke treatment and prevention: a neurologist, a radiologist and a cardiologist. The aim is to demonstrate, that only close interdisciplinary cooperation may improve the outcomes of this devastating disease.

The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of people without a regular dwelling in terms of social service administration in Prague. The theoretical part of the thesis consists of a general description of homelessness and explanation of the current model of provided services. It also mentions non-governmental organizations providing social care for the homeless in Prague and describes the help from the state administration. The next part explores 2 conceptions focused on tackling homelessness and discusses how they are currently met. It was also necessary to mention foreign experience of solving this problem. This thesis is called Coordinated rehabilitation of clients from selected wards of the Hospital in Ostrov. The aim of the thesis was to compare course and schedule of the coordinated system applied on the clients from selected hospital wards in Ostrov Hospital. Secondary goal was to survey services provided within the frame of the coordinated system of rehabilitation in Ostrov Hospital. In theoretic part of work was performed author?s knowledge of special scientific literature. Notion Coordinated rehabilitation was defined as well as its incorporation within legal regulations. Furthermore International Classification of functional abilities, disabilities and health were referred to briefly.Last subchapter of the theoretical section was dedicated to the introduction of the Ostrov. Observational part was compiled by using method of the qualitative research. Selected technique of the data collection was documentary analysis, survey and questionnaire. Author worked with health documentation of the three clients that was transformed into three casuistries. Those are listed in the chapter Results.Author had asked clients for their permission to be mentioned and published in her work and she received from all casuistic clients their advance agreement in written form. Last supplementary method of the data collection was knowledge questionnaire. This was compiled on the basis of the theoretical part of this work and distributed among staff of the above mentioned wards where the clients were hospitalized. The aim of the research was to answer question, whether single units of the coordinated rehabilitation system applied on the clients from selected wards of the Ostrov hospital are well interconnected? Author?s detailed statement is listed in chapter called Discussion, where she associates herself with theories of specialized publications on Coordinated rehabilitation system written by other authors. During the research phase author came to the conclusion, that both medical and social elements of the Coordinated rehabilitation system work perfectly. Both elements were linked together. However they lacked continuity, contingency or client awareness in the area of working and pedagogical rehabilitation. In neither of casuistries was applied this elementary unit of the Coordinated rehabilitation system. Author?s presupposition was intensified by partial unfamiliarity of the staff with pedagogical and working rehabilitation. For example in question no. 11 where 43 % of the interviewees declared that the only job opportunity available for the handicapped people is protected workshop and protected job for the disabled people. This fact resulted from the knowledge questionnaire given to the staff of Ostrov hospital. Hence functionality and connectivity of the system was primarily influenced by the cooperation of the individual specialists who are part of the client?s multidisciplinary team. Secondly the efficiency of the provided care resulted from the cooperation of the individual clients. This work can be used for educational purposes of individual staff in Ostrov hospital, alternatively in other health centres. Additionally it can be used as valuable source of information for students of health and social care studies, helping health workers, but also for non-professional laic public.

The thesis deals with the issues of nursing care in trauma centres in the Czech Republic. Injuries requiring complex and multidisciplinary treatment apart from surgery therapy are still more frequent nowadays. This is why trauma centres have been established in the Czech Republic. Their establishment increases demands for caring staff of non-physician fields. These increasing demands are of mental and physical character and of course demands for further education. The aim of the thesis was to find what opportunities nurses of trauma centres have in the field of further education, what are their biggest problems and how they cope with mental and physical stress in their work. The following hypotheses were set upon qualitative research in the form of unstructured interviews with nurses of trauma centres. Hypothesis 1: Nurses working in trauma centres prefer specialization education to tertiary education. Hypothesis 2: Nurses working in trauma centres cooperate with nurses from other clinical branches on provision of nursing care. Hypothesis 3: Nurses working in trauma centres get education not only in traumatology, but also in further clinical fields. Hypothesis 4: Nurses working in trauma centres cope with mental stress. Hypothesis 5: Nurses working in trauma centres cope with physical stress. Quantitative research in the form of questionnaires was applied on confirmation or refutation of the hypotheses. The research sample consisted of nurses working in trauma centres in the Czech Republic. Upon evaluation of the results hypotheses 1, 2 and 5 were confirmed and hypotheses 3 and 4 were refuted. The research results confirm that the work of nurses in trauma centres is hard in terms of mental and physical stress. There are still some reserves in further education of nurses not only on the part of the top managements but also on the part of the health care staff themselves. The thesis result may help in recruiting new staff to departments where the expected psychical and physical intensity might be an incentive to the care about an employee in the field of mental hygiene and improvement of interdisciplinary cooperation in trauma centres in the Czech Republic.
