The paper aims to present the current approach to solid tumours of the renal parenchyma using magnetic resonance imaging. The authors overview recommended techniques within the multiparametric examination; they offer the recommended examination scheme valid for 1.5 T and 3 T magnetic resonance devices. The authors show an overview of the most common solid renal tumours, both benign and malignant. Morphological peculiarities and similarities are presented; possible differences in the multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging are highlighted The following section shows the recommended ccLS scores to differentiate renal clear cell carcinoma from other tumours with a better prognosis. The discussion presents the recommended procedure and limitations in the point of view of the literary sources. In conclusion, we emphasize the suitability of introducing the ccLS standard into the protocols of magnetic resonance workplaces. The future without administration of a contrast agent is also outlined, especially in patients with kidney's disease. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
