- Abstract
The main objective of this study was to research phytocoenological, as well as ecological and soil characteristics in floodplain forests around Bratislava (Slovakia). The method of Zurich-Montpelier school (BRAUN-BLANQUET 1964) was applied for phytocoenological relevés, and the results were compared with the results of JURKO (1958) obtained almost 60 years ago. Invasive plant species spread across the Dunajske ostrovy Nature Reserve, a part of the Dunajske luhy Protected Landscape Area (PLA) Dunajske luhy. In addition to invasive tree species Ailanthus altissima and Negundo aceroides, invasive taxa Impatiens glandulifera was also recorded in the study area. Association Fraxino-Populetum was determined in the area. On the basis of the ecological analysis with the help of the indicated ecological factors according to Ellenberg (1979), statistically significant humidity factor was found. Shannon index, temperature, continentality, soil reaction, soil nitrogen and light were found as passive gradients of the environment. On the basis of the eco-index values the vegetation community was characterized as mesophilic, growing on fresh, moderately humid soils. The soil type and subtype were determined as fluvisol modal.
