Skup mjerenih varijabli bile su: mjerenje kineziološke angažiranosti, opće i specifične sportske percipirane kompetencije, pasivne zaokupljenosti sportom, ljestvice tjelesnog samopoimanja i slika o zdravlju. Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju nam kako se učenici i učenice znatno razlikuju po određenim varijablama. Učenici imaju više rezultate opće i specifične percipirane sportske kompetencije, kineziološke angažiranosti i pasivne zaokupljenosti sportom u odnosu na učenice. Učenice imaju bolju sliku o svome tijelu i više rezultate o zdravlju. The aim of this research was to determine the basic characteristics of kinesiology engagement of the high school students and to determine the relationship between kinesiology engagement and certain characteristics of high school students (perceived sport competence, general success, material circumstances, etc.) in Split town. The research was conducted on 145 students from the area of town Split. Out of the total number of students, 82 were female and 63 were male. The set of measured variables were: measurement of kinesiology engagement, general and specific sports perceived competence, passive participation in sports, general self-concept, body-image and perceived health. The results of the research showed that male and female students differ significantly in certain variables. Male students have higher results in general and specific perceived sports competence, kinesiological engagement and in passive participation in sports compared to female students. Female students had a higher body image and higher perceived health results. Although male students have higher kinesiology engagement compared to female students, their general self-concept was lower than female students. Regarding activity, male students were more active in organized sports (39.7%) compared to female students. Based on research on past and present activity, it was determined that only 27.6% of students were continuously active. Based on the status of their kinesiology engagement, the students were divided into three groups: constantly active, constantly inactive and those who dropout from sport. Female and male students who were constantly active were found to have highly expressed general and specific sports competence, kinesiological engagement and passive participation in sports compared to the other two groups.
