Slavonsko-srijemski podolac autohtona je pasmina karakteristična za određeno tlo i podneblje koju je sustavnim izborom uzgojio čovjek tako, da je postala dio nacionalnog identiteta određenog područja. Tijekom 2015. godine evidentirano je sveukupno 183 krave, 12 bikova te 120 podmladaka, od kojih je 40 mlađe od godinu dana, a 80 starije od godinu dana. Sve se uzgajaju u ukupno 20 stada. Prema klasifikaciji slavonsko-srijemski podolac svrstava se u kritično ugroženu skupinu. Analize proistekle iz nacionalnih izvješća ukazuju da erozija izvornih i zaštićenih pasmina domaćih životinja nije zaustavljena, te da je nužno poduzeti nove korake., The Slavonian syrmian podolian cattle is indigenous breed characteristic for specific soil and climate that is systematic selection grown man so that it has become part of the national identity of a particular area.
