Ovaj diplomski rad istražuje utjecaj abraziva u procesu pjeskarenja na površine različitih metala: aluminija, bakra, bronce, mjedi, cinka, kositra i olova. Korišteni su nekorodirani metali i isti metali korodirani u trima vodenim otopinama: natrijevog klorida, klorovodične kiseline i natrijevog metabisulfita, tako da kao produkti korozije nastaju kloridne i sulfatne soli. Abrazivi korišteni u ovom istraživanju su: orahova ljuska, soda bikarbona, staklene kuglice, kvarcni pijesak, korund i sačma. Pjeskarenje se vrši u konstantnim uvjetima: udaljenost između mlaznice i uzorka je jednaka za sve metale, a uzorci su pjeskareni pod kutom od 45°, pod tlakom 1 i 5 bara. Površine pjeskarenih uzoraka analizirane su vizualnim pregledom i pod digitalnim mikroskopom. Cilj istraživanja je utvrditi kakav učinak abrazivi imaju na površine obojenih metala kako bi se, s obzirom na svojstva abraziva i metala, olakšao optimalan odabir za buduće konzervatorsko-restauratorske zahvate. This thesis represents an effect of abrasive blast cleaning media on suraces of different metals: aluminum, copper, bronze, brass, zinc, tin and lead. The afore mentioned metals were used in both non-corroded and corroded forms. The corrosion was conducted in three different water solutions: sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid and sodium metabisulphite the products of which were chloride and sulphate salts. The abrasive media used were: walnut shell, sodium bicarbonate, glass beads, ceramic beads, silica sand, corundum and steel grit. The enviroment during the blasting process was kept constant: the distance and the angle (45°) between the nozzle and the metal surface and the blasting pressure (1 and 5 bar). The blast cleaned surfaces were then visually inspected with the naked eye and under a digital microscope. The objective of this research was to determine the effect of blast media on the surfaces of non-ferrous metals respective to the properties of both the abrasive media and the metals with a view to facilitating the selection of the best blasting media in future conservation treatments.
