In the new round of land spatial system planning and reconstruction, a top-down land spatial planning system has gradually been established. Village planning is an important component of the national spatial planning system and an important lever for rural revitalization. However, there are still some shortcomings in the completed village planning results. In order to improve village planning, this article used a linear regression model to conduct a significance analysis on 127 samples selected from the completed "multi planning and integration practical village planning" in Qujing City. The main influencing factors and their weights that affected the results of practical village planning were identified. The results showed that factors such as construction land scale, homestead area, and conflicts between the "three districts and three lines" had a greater impact on the weight, and these indicators were more in line with relevant policy regulations, the more reasonable the village planning is; the impact weight of village classification and positioning, industrial development direction, and other indicators was relatively small. The closer these indicators were to reality, the stronger the practicality and feasibility of village planning. Based on the analysis results, targeted measures are proposed to improve village planning from four aspects: policy, talent, funding, and publicity, providing experience for other unfinished areas and strengthening the guidance of rural revitalization planning, so as to consolidate the foundation for better rural revitalization and socialist modernization. Based on history and a problem orientation, this study aimed to examine and innovate the village planning content that meets the requirements of the new era to provide guidance for preparation of practical village planning in the future. This paper summarizes and explains the development process of village planning since the founding of New China, in combination with the multiple requirements of the new era, through a scientific cognition of village planning, elaborates the contents and methods of practical village planning, analyzes the existing problems and advantages of village planning, and proposes guarantee measures for village planning development. Initially, village planning changed from the traditional single-oriented planning to classified planning. Then, the focus of village planning changed from residential planning to global spatial control. Finally, the thinking changed from single planning to multi-planning, and the village planning began to reserve flexible space. As characteristic planning in Shanghai, countryside unit planning has played a positive role in the construction and development of rural areas since its implementation. By reviewing the development process of three editions of countryside unit planning in Shanghai, this paper proposes that the third edition of the countryside unit (village) planning has developed village planning through special planning to become the basis for the implementation of land use control, especially rural construction planning permission. Compared with the previous two versions, the countryside unit (village) planning combined with the strategic background of Rural Revitalization carried out a series of innovative explorations, including industrial development planning, such as business types and projects in rural areas to activate economic vitality. Strictly enforced spatial control requirements through a "one map of spatial control zones" and rural unit plans innovate the "E+X+Y" town village system to guide farmers to live in a centralized way, increase the content of landscape planning guidance to inherit the features and characteristics of Jiangnan Water Town and Traditional Culture, and formulate and implement future plans to strengthen guidance and implementation. This study considers the pilot project of the countryside unit (village) planning of Maogang Town in Songjiang District and finds that countryside unit (village) planning must be further studied in terms of planning adjustment mechanism, land classification, access land type, and connection with permanent basic farmland. This paper aims to explore the ideas, technical methods, and paths of original data integration in village planning based on the concept of “two regulations.” This study deeply integrates social economic statistic data, land use classification, the area use scale in original year, the management style in map data, and more. The improvement of rural human settlements is the most important part in our country's current rural revitalization. Because the rural living environment can no longer meet people's growing living needs, rural reconstruction has also become the main way to improve the current human settlement. The paper starts with the strategy of rural revitalization, and the rural planning competition of Xiling Village, Yangquan, Shanxi is analysed, and the strategies for improving the human settlement environment in rural reconstruction are summarized. The current rural environment is optimized and improved by repairing the village appearance, reasonably reconstructing the space, enriching the spatial levels, and improving the public health system. The local construction of traditional villages is an important way to solve the problems of homogeneity, constructive destruction and lack of features, and promote the priority development of agriculture and rural areas, adhere to the integrated development of urban and rural areas, and smooth the flow of urban and rural factors. This study is based on clarifying the conceptual connotation of traditional villages and their landscape, production, cultural and ecological functions, taking the theory of local construction as the path, conducting research on Huaiyin village planning. By comprehensively analyzing the resource conditions and development status of Huaiyin Village, this paper conducts planning research on leisure tourism in Huaiyin Village based on development needs, focusing on four methods and strategies: landscape locality, industrial locality, cultural locality and ecological locality, in order to achieve the comprehensive improvement of rural style and agricultural tourism industry, and provide reference for the development and utilization of traditional villages in the new development period. Mixed land use is an important step to realize intensive land use and to stimulate regional vitality. This study examined the theory of mixed land use, constructed an analytical framework for the relationship between mixed use of rural residential land and rural vitality, and explored the characteristics of the impact of mixed use of rural residential land on rural vitality using Simpson ′ s diversity index, a multi-factor comprehensive evaluation method, and a correlation test of Shandong Province as an example. The results showed that the growth rates of rural vitality indexes in the high, medium, and low zones of mixed use of rural residential land in Shandong Province from 2010 to 2018 were 84.70%, 60.74%, and 50.33%, respectively. Thus, the faster the mixed use of rural residential land improved, the faster the development of rural vitality. The regional averages of the rural vitality index in the low, medium, and high zones of rural mixed use of residential land in Shandong Province were 0.13, 0.23, and 0.29 in 2010, respectively, and 0.19, 0.24, and 0.38 in 2018, respectively. The higher the degree of mixed use of rural settlement land, the higher the level of rural vitality. The Spearman correlation analysis and Kruskal–Wallis test results showed that the mixed use of rural residential land was related to rural vitality and stimulated rural vitality. It has great significance to study the trade-off mechanism of productive and dwelling space of rural settlement and the optimized of its productive and dwelling space nowadays in China, which is one of the basic means to improve the rural habitat environment and adjust the inner structure of rural residential land. With the development of socio-economic, productive and dwelling space of rural settlements gradually diversified in developed areas such as suburban areas and industrial areas in eastern China, which present reciprocal tradeoffs. These changes distinguish from the abandonment and hollowing of productive and dwelling space of rural settlements in traditional agricultural area. However, current researches mainly consider the rural settlement as a single entity and tend to neglect its inner productive and dwelling space. This paper introduces the concept of ecosystem service trade-off, analyzes the trade-off between productive space and dwelling space of rural settlements in economically developed areas from the aspects of “types of trade-off, driving forces, effects,” and then this paper puts forward the idea of optimizing the productive and dwelling space of rural settlement. The results show that, the trade-off of productive and dwelling space of rural settlements which in developed areas, is caused by the diversification of farmers' livelihood and the development of non-agricultural industries in rural areas, farmers have a demand for living apace, industrial and commercial space, and choose various functional spaces according to their needs. According to the spatial combination of productive space and dwelling space of rural settlement, the trade-off types can be divided into residential-industrial space trade-off, residential-commercial space trade-off, residential-rental space trade-off, multi-space trade-off and so on. Land use versatility and the diversification of productive and dwelling space of rural settlement that driven by industrialization and urbanization is the premise of the productive and dwelling space trade-off of rural settlement. The types and its variations of productive and dwelling space trade-off of rural settlement are directly determined by the livelihood and life needs of farmers. While the land plan control by the government and the lack of village planning has exacerbated the process of the productive and dwelling space trade-off of rural settlement. The trade-off of productive and dwelling space of rural settlement improves the livelihoods of farmers and promotes the economic development and the vitality of rural areas, but also causes a variety of negative effects, such as the spatial clutter of rural settlements, the deterioration of human living environment and other problems. The reconstruction model of rural settlement as homogeneous space is far from the needs of farmers. In the future, under the background of the shortage of construction land in rural areas, it is necessary to meet the diversified demands of farmers and the optimizing of the productive and dwelling space of rural settlement by the multifunctional composite and functional improvement of land use of rural settlement. [Objective]Based on the purpose of sustainable development of human settlements, this paper evaluates the landscape of Touche Village. By studying the current situation of local ecological resources and human settlements, it provides a valuable reference for the village planning and ecological protection of the village. [Method]Based on the field investigation of Touche Village, the comprehensive landscape evaluation of Touche Village is carried out by using the combination of analytic hierarchy process (AHP), fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method and IPA analysis method, and from the four criteria levels of human landscape, ecological environment, rural development and living conditions, as well as the landscape resource evaluation indicators including 22 index levels. [Result]The research shows that the comprehensive evaluation result of landscape resources in Touche Village is “satisfactory”, and there is still some room for improvement. The analysis of IPA results shows that the four indicators of ecological landscape diversity (C8 ), forest coverage (C12 ), rural tourism promotion (C15 ) and rural landscape attraction (C16 ) belong to advantageous landscape resources; Ecosystem stability (C7 ), rural hollowing out (C13 ) and villagers’ living and travel convenience (C19 ) are three indicators that need to be improved. [Conclusion]From the comprehensive evaluation results, the paper puts forward the method system and optimization path to strengthen the ecological environment governance, improve the level of rural production and living facilities, and improve the requirements of industrial development, so as to put forward a scientific and reasonable decision-making basis for the optimization and quality improvement of the landscape and the improvement of the living environment of Touche Village, so as to improve the overall landscape quality of the village more accurately and efficiently. A rural revitalization strategy has been proposed, and more attention has been paid to village planning, which has become an important measure to adjust to local conditions, implement policies accurately, and build a beautiful countryside. The core of rural revitalization involves planning first, promoting industry, serving the countryside, and planning the village as the unit. An important aspect of village planning is road planning and design, which is essential to further connect agricultural production, country living, and ecological space of the village; promote production; serve life; and strengthen traffic between the village and the external region. Owing to the differences in geographical and natural conditions and the level of economic development between urban and rural areas in China, village road planning cannot copy the previous methods of road route selection and urban road planning. Instead, it is necessary to explore a universal, efficient, and intelligent village road planning method that considers the actual situation of rural development by considering agricultural production, villagers' lives, industrial development, historical and cultural protection, and other factors. In the context of rural revitalization, this study takes the village as the planning unit, considers the natural environment, current layout, and development needs of the village, uses the qualitative and quantitative fuzzy analytic hierarchy process to analyze and quantify the natural, social, demographic and other factors of the village road planning and their weights, and uses the weighted superposition analysis method to form a comprehensive cost grid of the village with multiple elements. A process-based village road planning GIS tool is constructed, and the minimum cost path algorithm was used to automatically generate the village road network with the minimum comprehensive cost. Taking Gangtou Village in Huadu District of Guangzhou City as an example, the feasibility of the above methods, technical processes, and GIS tools was verified, and a village-wide comprehensive cost grid was efficiently generated. According to the five elements of residential areas, cultivated land, historical monuments, public facilities, and entrances and exits of external roads, five categories, seven starting points, and 16 ending points of village planning roads were automatically extracted, and a four-level village road from multiple starting points to multiple ending points was automatically generated, including four main roads with a width of 5-8 meters, two secondary main roads with a width of 3-5 meters, nine productive branch roads with a width of 2-3 meters, 13 living branch roads, and one village road. The results show that the village road planning method proposed here can efficiently generate multi-type and multi-level village roads, and the planned road network not only has a minimum construction cost but also good connectivity and practicability. The village road-planning method proposed in this study integrates natural, social, demographic, and industrial development factors and their characteristics, providing systematic ideas and automated methods for village road planning. This is helpful for promoting the intelligence of village road planning.

Suburban areas are the key zones for the integration of urban and rural areas, and identifying the types of villages in these areas aids in coordinating urban and rural areas′ development patterns. Linchuan District′ s village development evaluation system was built using the“production-life-ecological”function perspective. A village typology identification system was used to classify the 339 administrative villages into different village types, and spatial autocorrelation analysis was used to reveal its spatial clustering characteristics. Subsequently, village development strategies were proposed. The results indicated that：the overall level of village development in Linchuan District is relatively high, with average indices of 0.592, 0.585, and 0.466 for production function, living function, and ecological function, respectively, indicating a distribution pattern of stronger development in the north and weaker development in the south. The suitability for village development in the Linchuan District exhibits significant spatial clustering characteristics, most notably in the“north hot, south cold”pattern for production and living function indices, as well as the“centre cold, edge cold”patterns for ecological function indices. Linchuan District′s villages are divided into four categories and two types, with a focus on the development of clusterdriven villages in the urban-rural integration and cluster-enhancement categories for rural revitalization. Based on the results of village type identification, proposing differentiated development strategies for villages based on land use control can provide a clear framework for optimizing the territorial spatial layout and promoting deep urban-rural integration. Under the background of economic and social transformation, it is of great significance to explore the interactive relationship between rural residential land structure and function and promote their adaptive development, which will reshape rural space and promote rural revitalization. On the basis of explaining the connotation of “interactive relationship between rural residential land structure and function”, this study analyzed the basic conditions and dynamic mechanism, process, and characteristics of the interaction between the two, constructed a theoretical framework, and explored the application directions of the theory. The study found that: (1) Interaction between rural residential land structure and function is a process of “factor-structure-function” adjustment caused by the internal and external environments of the rural residential land system, which is characterized by staged, self-adaptive and driven. (2) Affected by the rate of regional economic development, the transition degree of the economy, and the difference of social structures, the interactive relationship between rural residential land structure and function is not corresponding on the temporal and spatial scales, showing mismatch, competition, and synergy. (3) By carrying out rural space reconstruction, attaching importance to the projection of village function to material space, innovating mixed village planning, and improving relevant system support under the guidance of “function-led land use structure adjustment”, we can promote the coordinated adaptation of rural residential land structure and function.

[Objective] The classification of rural settlement development types is crucial for comprehensive and effective village planning. By examining the characteristics of rural resident travel behaviors, this study aimed to categorize rural settlement development types and subsequently propose tailored strategies for rural revitalization. This approach can significantly contribute to the sustainable and holistic development of rural areas. [Methods] This study applied social network analysis to examine the spatial linkage patterns of rural resident travel behaviors in Kekeyiligeng (Ke Town) of Wuchuan County. It also incorporated expert scoring to obtain the weights of various travel frequencies. Subsequently, it used kernel density estimation to study the spatial distribution characteristics of rural settlements within the research area. By measuring the intensity and degree of centrality of these rural settlements, the study was able to identify their development types using the general matrix model. Finally, this study proposed paths of rural revitalization tailored to the specific development types, to foster sustainable growth and development in the region. [Results] The research results show that: (1) Among the daily travel activities of Ke Town residents, socializing comprises the largest share (52%), followed by shopping (26%) and studying (13%), while medical care and work account for similar proportions (4%), and tourism has the smallest share (1%). (2) The connection strength between settlements within Ke Town forms a network structure emanating from the central node represented by the central town. Key factors influencing connection strength include transportation infrastructure, resource endowment, and population size. Settlements with high degree centrality are typically located along transportation routes or in close proximity to the central town. (3) Ke Town’s rural settlements are categorized into five types: suburban integration (20), characteristic protection (9), agglomeration promotion (44), general persistence (49), and relocation and merge (58). The study proposed distinct rural revitalization approaches tailored to each type, taking regional conditions into account. Additionally, it provided guidance for the relocation of settlements falling under the relocation and merge category, based on their intra-village connection strength. [Conclusion] The success of rural revitalization initiatives heavily relies on tailoring interventions to the specific needs and dynamics of each rural settlement type. Accurately identifying the spatial connection intensity among different residential areas is essential for precise localization and the effective implementation of targeted policies aimed at promoting rural revitalization. This study underscores the importance of comprehensively understanding the diverse rural settlement types, providing valuable insights into formulating specific strategies for rural revitalization that are firmly rooted in the distinctive characteristics of each settlement category.
