To study the compressive mechanics properties of pillar centered cubic lattice with dif-rent reinforcement directions and their filling structures, silicone rubber filled lattice structure test pecimens were prepared herein. The compressive mechanics properties of two lattice structures(BCC1 r BCC2, loading direction was either the same or perpendicular to the direction of pillar rod in body ntered cubic lattice with pillars) filled with silicone rubber were studied through experimental and mulation methods. The equivalent elastic modulus and compressive platform stress of two lattice ructures were conducted using Timoshenko beam theory and ultimate load method. The results indi-te that the proposed theoretical model may effectively predict the equivalent elastic modulus and ompressive platform stress of two type lattice structures. After filling, the compression strength and nergy absorption performance of the two lattice structures are enhanced, while the enhancement fect of the BCC2 structure is more significant. For the BCC1 lattice, rubber filling enhances the aring capacity of the internal members. However, for the BCC2 lattice structure, rubber filling re-ces the bending deformation of the members near the V-shaped shear band. As the radius of the lattice tructure increases, the energy absorption coupling factors of both lattice structures first increase and hen decrease, yet the energy absorption coupling factor of BCC1 type structure changes more significantly [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In cutting-edge fields such as nuclear medicine, aviation, and aerospace, polymer materials face severe challenges owing to long-term exposure to extreme radiation environments. These environments impose stringent requirements on the service reliability of materials, which makes it imperative to improve the radiation resistance and aging resistance of polymer materials. To this end, amorphous boron powder (B) was used to prepare amorphous boron powder/silicone rubber (B/SR) composites because of the possible radical-scavenging characteristics of the empty orbitals present on the outer layer of amorphous boron powder. The impact of B on the radiation resistance of silicone rubber was investigated through systematic studies on the changes in the mechanical, thermal, and crosslink density properties of the material before and after irradiation. The experimental findings demonstrated that, at an absorbed dose of 200 kGy, the retention rate of elongation at break of B/SR0.3 sample can be maintained at (49.4±3.1)%, whereas pure SR is only (24.7±2.7)%. The initial breakdown temperature of irradiated silicone rubber composites raised from 454.9 °C to 472.8 °C by adding 0.3 parts of B, which significantly enhanced its thermal stability in radiation environments. To visually demonstrate the changes in the internal radicals of the silicone rubber composite during irradiation, this study used a UV lamp-electron paramagnetic resonance (UV-EPR) spectrometer for real-time monitoring and revealed that B could effectively eliminate the free radicals generated in the silicone rubber composite during the irradiation process. This study provides an effective strategy to improve the radiation resistance of silicone rubber composites and lays a solid foundation for the development of novel radiation-resistant polymer materials.

Polyacrylonitrile pre-oxidized fiber（PANOF）is an emerging flame retardant material with low cost and high performance，showing a promising application potential as thermal protection materials in the aerospace field.Pretreated PANOF（t-PANOF）was obtained by the process of oil removing with acetone and surface modification using silane coupling agent KH570 in turn.Scanning electron microscopy（SEM），Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy（FT-IR）and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS）were employed to figure out the changes of morphology and chemical structure of the fibers before and after pretreatment and their interfacial properties with silicone rubber（SR）.Effects of t-PANOF on the mechanical and thermal performances of SR were further investigated. With the presence of ceramic forming agent（CFA），the ablation responsive behaviors of CFA/t-PANOF/SR ternary composites were researched as well.The results show that the level of interfacial adhesion between fibers and rubber is significantly enhanced contributed from the pretreatment of PANOF，and the tensile strength of the composites is improved accordingly.However，with the increasing content of t-PANOF，the comprehensive mechanical properties of t-PANOF/SR composites show the trend that increase first and then decrease，indicating that the optimal dosage of the fibers is 5 to 10 phr.t-PANOF skeleton helps to not only enhance the dimensional stability of SR in high temperature and oxygen-rich environment，but also improve the ablation performance of CFA/t-PANOF/SR composites.The antioxidation ceramic layer with fiber skeleton as the main structure is formed on the surface of CFA/t-PANOF/SR composites under the high temperature aerobic gas with the heat flux density of 2 MW/m2，the corresponding linear and mass ablation rate are only 0.02 mm/s and 0.02 g/s respectively，which is expected to be utilized as an ablation material to satisfy the demands of the new generation of aerospace vehicles.

Silicone rubber composite insulators (SiR) for electric power will encounter lightning strike or fire during operation, and SiR will fail due to complex changes such as expansion and cracking after pyrolysis at different temperatures. However, the pyrolysis performance of SiR and the microscopic reasons for these changes are still unclear. In this paper, the thermal degradation of SiR at different temperatures was discussed, and the relationship between pyrolysis temperature and the structure, mechanical properties and surface hydrophobicity of SiR was explored. The thermal stability of SiR was studied by synchronous thermal analyzer. The results show that the microstructure of SiR changes significantly with the increase of pyrolysis temperature. Due to the release of pyrolysis gas and molecular crosslinking in SiR, a large number of pores are produced on the surface of SiR, and the crosslinking degree and tensile properties of silicone rubber decrease. When the pyrolysis temperature is above 300 °C, the mechanical properties and C--H bonds of the pyrolyzed SiR decrease obviously. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

α, ω-dihydroxypolydimethylsiloxane was prepared with Me2SiCl2 hydrolysate as raw material by alkaline catalytic equilibrium reaction. The factors on the viscosity of dihydroxypolydimethylsiloxane were discussed, which was including hydrolysate, potassium hydroxide, degradation water, temperature and nitrogen gas. Two-component additional silicone gel was prepared by vinyl-terminated methyl silicone oil as the base polymer, and hydrogen silicone oil, platinum catalyst, inhibitor. The effects of the ratio of end side vinyl silicone oil, end side hydrogen silicone oil, mono vinyl-terminated methyl silicone oil, active hydrogen and vinyl substance on the curing of silicone gel were investigated, and the properties were compared with those of imported products. The results show that the optimum conditions for preparing silicone gel for insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) packaging were that no end side vinyl silicone oil. The amount of end hydrogen silicone oil is 15 wt%, 9.47 wt% of monovinyl terminated methyl silicone oil in the system, with active hydrogen to vinyl (ratio of 0.95 ). The silicone gel prepared is equivalent to the imported products, and it performs well in terms of high and low temperature aging resistance, 85X1/85% RH aging performance, repair ability, electrical performance. In order to improve the traditional methods that are difficult to balance the high conductivity, magnetic properties, and mechanical properties of electromagnetic shielding rubber (ESR), a series of nickel coated graphite(NCG) conductive silicone rubber electromagnetic shielding composite materials were prepared by mechanical blending, with coated NCG as filler, coupling agent as modifier, and silicone rubber as substrate. The vulcanization characteristics, mechanical properties, conductivity, and shielding effectiveness of ESR were tested and analyzed, and the microstructure of the rubber was characterized by SEM. The effect of NCG addition on the mechanical properties, conductivity, and shielding effectiveness of conductive silicone rubber was studied, and the conductivity and shielding mechanism of ESR were analyzed. The results show that the filler can form a complete and stable three-dimensional conductive network inside the matrix when the filler addition amount is 180 parts, so that the composite material could have good mechanical properties and excellent electrical properties at the same time, and the tensile strength of the ESR is 3. 688 MPa, the volume resistivity is 0. 24 Ω • cm, and its average shielding efficiency in the X-band (8. 2~12. 4 GHz) can reach 55. 25 dB. The high conductivity silicone rubber prepared by filling silicone rubber with silver plated aluminum powder was studied, and the environmental adaptability of high conductive silicone rubber was analyzed by comparing the performance of the initial and the airborne equipment in the environmental tests. The results show that the high temperature, low temperature, temperature shock, humid heat, salt spray mold, acidic atmosphere, ozone and solar irradiation are nondestructive on the density and hardness of the high conductive silicone rubber. The tensile strength and elongation at break of the rubber decreases after solar irradiation and ozone environment. After 56 days solar irradiation, the surface resistance increases from 0. 028 to 0. 156 Ω, and the electrical performance decreases significantly. Therefore, when designing and using the highly conductive silicone rubber filled with silver-coated aluminum powder, it is necessary to reserve a margin for its conductivity to meet the durability requirements of the equipment. The nickel carbon conductive HTV silicone rubber was prepared by additional silicone rubber as the base rubber, nickel carbon particles as conductive fillers, with coupling agent, thickening agent, and hydrogen containing silicone oil. The optimal formula for silicone rubber was explored and its performance was tested. The results showed that the optimal formula was that 100 parts of additional cured silicone rubber, 150 parts of nickel carbon particle A, 1. 5 parts of TTS coupling agent, 1 part of tackifier and 3 parts of hydrogen containing silicone oil. The silicone rubber by this formula has the surface resistance of 29. 47 mΩ, the adhesion of 23. 66 N, the density of 1. 93 g/ cm3, Shore A hardness of 65, the tensile strength of 1. 21 MPa, the elongation at break of 119%, and the resistance remains stable after 1,000 hours of double "85" aging test, which can meet the basic requirements for the conductive silicone rubber. Conductive polymer composites usually use elastomers as the matrix of strain sensors. However, elastic polymer composites often exhibit shoulder peak phenomena in the resistance response signal, which limits the application of strain sensors. In order to eliminate the acromion phenomenon, MWCNT/VMQ conductive nanocomposites were prepared by mechanical blending and solution blending respectively. The effects of different preparation processes on the microstructure, electrical conductivity and strain sensing properties of the composites were studied. The results show that the composite prepared by mechanical blending method has lower percolation threshold, higher sensitivity and more stable resistance response signal. It maintains good stability and repeatability even during 2 500 cycles of loading and unloading process, and no acromion phenomenon occurs. The mechanism of shoulder peak phenomenon is explained. A multi-component mixed acid was prepared by simulating the composition of exhaust gas recirculation condensate, and the effects of the multi-component mixed acid solution on the mechanical properties, apparent morphology and thermal stability of silicone rubber, fluororubber and ethylene-acrylate rubber were investigated. The results showed that after corrosion, the mechanical properties and surface morphology of fluororubber and ethylene-acrylate rubber remained good, while cracks appeared on the surface of silicone rubber and its tensile strength and elongation at break decreased significantly by 86.6% and 90.3%, respectively. Thermal stability of fluororubber remained good, while the initial decomposition temperature of ethylene-acrylate rubber and silicone rubber increased.

We studied the dynamic stiffness, strain energy density, and fatigue life of phenyl silicone rubber at - 40 - 20 t, and verified the consistency between the experimental results and the fatigue life calculation formula based on crack growth theory. The results show that when the temperature increases, the phenyl silicone rubber decreases its dynamic stiffness and strain energy density, but increases the fatigue life, whose characteristics meet the prediction model of the fatigue life. Silicone rubbers are extensively used in high-end equipment in ionizing radiation environments because of their satisfactory elasticity, thermostability, high/low-temperature resistance, and aging resistance characteristics. Experimental studies and theoretical calculations are of equal importance because of their complicated radiolytic behaviors and mechanisms. This paper reviews the progress of simulation studies on radiation-aged silicone rubber. Many examples are listed and summarized to reveal their highlights in solving practical issues from the perspective of multiscale simulations, where mutual validation and verification of experiments and simulations are also discussed. Based on the characteristics of the spatiotemporal scale of the modeling methods, this paper is organized into the following six sections. Frequently adopted simulation methods include quantum electrodynamics, density functional theory, quantum molecular dynamics, reactive molecular dynamics, traditional molecular dynamics, and constitutive models and finite-element simulations. These methods are strongly associated with research demands, including the process and mechanism of interaction of silicone with radiation, evolution law and mechanism of system damage, and the structure–property relationship. Some studies have involved several modeling methods that are compiled into the most featured sections. This review presents a wide range of simulation studies on silicone rubber, outlining its research status and the current challenges for the academic and engineering community. This review provides novel ideas and knowledge bases for experimental studies and solutions to engineering problems.

Polylactic acid (PLA) has the advantages of degradability, good biocompatibility and low energy consumption. However, PLA has the characteristics of poor toughness, slow degradation rate, hydrophobicity and lack of reaction side chain groups, which limits the application range of PLA. Rubber-based materials have excellent elasticity and toughness, which can be used as materials to improve the performance of PLA. The effects of different rubber types such as natural rubber (NR), nitrile rubber (NBR), acrylate rubber (ACM), silicone rubber (SI) and other rubbers on the properties of PLA are summarized. The research progress of rubber modified PLA under different processing technologies in recent years is reviewed, and the difficulties faced by rubber modified PLA are discussed. In order to solve the problem that the material properties and process parameters cannot be matched in processing two-component silicone rubber in most of current additive manufacturing equipment, active mixing was proposed to apply to the high-resolution molding of two-component silicone rubber and the research was carried out. The method of control variables was used to explore the influence of mixing gap and length of mixing channel on the forming uniformity and mechanical properties of two-component silicone rubber line; and the two-component silicone rubber printing process was optimized based on the analysis of its printing principle. The results indicate that the forming uniformity and mechanical property stability of two-component silicone rubber line increase with the increase of length of mixing channel, and increase with the decrease of mixing gap within a certain range. The silicone foam with complex lattice structure is printed through the optimized process parameters, which proves the feasibility of using active mixing to print two-component silicone rubber.
