Target assignment is the core part in the command and control process, and the optimization of the allocation mode is of great significance for improving the air defense and anti-missile combat capability. In order to improve the robustness, applicability, game antagonism and other combat performance of air defense and anti-missile target allocation, so as to cope with the current complex and changeable battlefield environment, this paper proposes the target allocation architecture establishment of multi-mode fusion, and adaptively improve the commercial order-type service mode. The improvement of three kinds of dispatching models, that are “dispatching order” “grabbing order” and “dispatching- grabbing order fusion”, are defined as military models. By using the US department of defense architecture framework (DoDAF) to establish a new target allocation architecture of “other allocation” “self-allocation”and “combination of other allocation and self-allocation”. With the introduction of Perti net model, the reachable map of Petri net model is constructed and analyzed. Through the simulation experiment platform, the complex combat scenario is constructed to verify the feasibility of the distribution strategy mechanism. The results show that each of the three strategies has its own advantages. The multi-strategy combination designed in this paper has greater advantages than the traditional single strategy in matching time, success rate and utility value.

Cosmic-ray muon imaging is a new non-destructive technique that uses highly penetrating natural muon to reconstruct objects with high atomic number (Z) or subjects hidden in something by applying muon scattering or transmission technique, respectively. Up till now, muography mainly focused on objects with high Z or large volume. But few studies have been reported on objects at small scale with low or medium Z in China. A method that aims to reconstruct 3D image for objects at small scale as well as low or medium Z has been brought out in this paper, which uses the amount of muonic secondary particles and coinciding muon trajectories in different directions to reconstruct objects. A simulation about how muonic secondary particles generate and their performances based on Geant4 toolkit was carried out. The results of this simulation show that the secondary particles are mainly composed of secondary electrons and gamma photons. And as the thickness of the objects increases along one certain direction, the amount of secondary particles increases approximately linearly. Therefore, the amount of them carries the shape and location information of objects. Furthermore, the energy of muonic secondary particles is mainly beyond 01 MeV, so secondary particles can be distinguished with the background noise in the experimental environment. After selecting coincide muon trajectory through injected cosmicray muon and its secondary particles coincide detection technique, the 3D images of three 3 cm×3 cm×3 cm cubes made up from different materials (iron, water, and lead) were reconstructed based on limitedangle computed tomography algorithm. It can be seen from the imaging results that the reconstructed image of iron has best quality. Both water and lead have some voids in their reconstructed images, but the voids of water is apparently less than those of lead. Thus, this imaging method is fit for imaging small scale objects with low or medium Z and the imaging effect of objects at the small scale with medium Z is especially good. A reconstruction of complex objects which is defined as “USC” letter model has also been made. The reconstructed image can match with the size and location of the geometry model in Geant4 and can also distinguish the intervals of 08 cm in the letter “S”. A much better imaging accuracy will be achieved by optimizing the mathematical model of the algorithm. This method extends the application area of muon tomography.

Text classification is a basic and important task in natural language processing.Most of the text classification methods based on deep learning only focus on a single model structure.The single structure lacks the ability to simultaneously capture and utilize both global and local semantic features.Besides,the deepening of the network will lose more semantic information.In order to overcome the above problems,a text classification model FMNN which is a text classification model fused with multiple neural network is proposed in this paper.The model combines the performances of BERT,RNN,CNN and Attention while minimizing the network depth.BERT is used as the embedding layer to obtain the matrix representation of the text.BiLSTM and Attention are used to jointly extract the global semantic features of the text.CNN is used to extract the local semantic features of the text at multiple granularities.The global semantic features and local semantic features are applied to the softmax classifier respectively.The results are finally fused by arithmetic average.The experimental results on three public data sets and one judicial data set show that the proposed FMNN model achieves higher accuracy rate,and the accuracy rate on the judicial data set reaches 90.31%,which proves that the model has good practical value.

BackgroundThe Shashlik electromagnetic calorimeter (ECAL) is used in the Nuclotron-based Ion Collider Facility's MultiPurpose detector (NICA-MPD) of the Russian heavy ion superconducting synchrotron. It is designed as a cylindrical barrel divided into 32 sectors with a total of 43 008 towers. Each tower is composed of 220 layers of lead and 221 layers of scintillator alternately.PurposeThis study aims to simulate multiple parameters of Shashlik ECAL for NICA-MPD that affect the performance of ECAL.MethodsFirst of all, the module of ECAL tower was built based on the principle of Shashlik ECAL. Then, the GEENT4 software was employed to simulate the performance of every single tower of ECAL according to its structure composition. Considering the influence of the design parameters of the scintillator and absorber on energy deposition, energy resolution, and energy leakage after electrons were incident on the tower and the subsequent scintillator luminescence process, the influence of the reflective layer on the number of photons was in the wavelength shifted fiber and detector. Finally, factors that affected energy deposition, energy leakage, energy resolution, and photon number in the wavelength shift (WLS) and sensor, and the influence of the thickness, number of layers, and size of the scintillator and absorber in the module on energy deposition, energy leakage, and energy resolution were simulated and analyzed.ResultsThe simulation results show that the best side length of cross-section of each tower is 4 cm. When the total thickness of absorber and scintillator is 1.8 mm and the thickness of lead absorber is 0.3 mm, the energy resolution meets the experimental requirements of 5%@3 GeV. When the radiation length reaches 13X0, maximum energy deposition and obtains better energy resolution can be achieved. Adding a reflective layer to the tower side can increase the number of photons in the fiber by 10%~19% whereas adding a reflective coating to the fiber end can effectively increase the number of photons reaching the detector by 50%.ConclusionsThe photon numbers in the wavelength shift fiber and the detector are affected by the reflection layer on both the tower side and the end face of the fiber. The importance and necessity of adding reflector are verified by this study.

Pyroptosis is a kind of programmed cell death mediated by the gasdermin protein, including the classical pathway that depends on caspase-1 and the non-classical pathway that depends on caspase-4, -5, and 11, accompanied by the release of a large number of inflammatory factors. Atherosclerosis, myocardial ischemia, heart failure and other cardiovascular diseases are closely related to inflammatory response. Pyroptosis, as a highly pro-inflammatory cell death, is also widely involved in the occurrence and development of the cardiovascular diseases, and plays an important role in these diseases.

To improve rapeseed yield, Brassica napus hybrid cultivar Huayouza 9 was selected as material, and was planted in pots and fields. Experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of wood vinegar application on seedling growth and seed yield under different foliar spraying times, different application intervals and different growth periods under 3 sowing dates. Results of pot experiments showed that total dry weight of rapeseed was significantly increased by 29.63%-74.07% when wood vinegar was sprayed for 2 to 4 times continuously and at intervals. At the same time, continuous and interval spraying of wood vinegar for 4 times could significantly increase leaf area by 81.58%-85.65%. Results of field experiments showed that the final seed yield treated by spraying once, twice and three times at seedling stage, bud bolting stage and flowering stage respectively increased by 3.30%, 9.52% and 11.38%, and protein content decreased by 2.62%, 4.02% and 4.68%, respectively. Compared with control, field yields of 3 different sowing dates sprayed with wood vinegar were increased by 20.13%, 23.25%, 13.97%, and the number of effective pods per plant increased by 47.29%, 61.87%, 72.90%, respectively. Comprehensive analysis showed that the promotion effect was better when wood vinegar was sprayed 2 to 4 times during growth period, with an interval of more than 5 days each time. BACKGROUND In the Western Yunnan, there is an abundance of low-grade gold resources with uneven grain size, complicated ore structure and incomplete separation. Using the traditional mineralogical analysis process, it is difficult to achieve accurate and rapid determination of the occurrence of gold and the inlay characteristics of gold-bearing minerals. OBJECTIVES To study the mineralogy process of polymetallic gold ores in Western Yunnan. METHODS:The mineral composition, dissemination size, and inclusions characteristics of gold ores were analyzed, and the effect of mineralogical properties of gold-bearing minerals on the recovery of gold was determined. The X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometer and eight-lamp flame graphite furnace integrated Atomic Absorption Spectrometer were used for the analysis of ore properties, and the ore samples were analyzed by Mineral Liberation Analysis. RESULTS The results show that gold is mainly in the form of free gold, with superfine dissemination size of gold minerals, mainly concentrated on the 0.01 mm to 0.02 mm granularity level. Gold smaller than 0.074 mm presents as free monomer natural gold, which accounts for 50.08% of the total gold. Other gold occurs as inclusions in pyrite, magnetite and chalcopyrite. However, the gold-bearing minerals have small grain size, poor dissociation, and uneven embedding. CONCLUSIONS Increasing the dissociation degree of major gold-bearing minerals is an important method for increasing gold recovery.

The present methods for the determination of heavy metals in soil by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry(ICP-MS) have many disadvantages including an inappropriate decomposition process and the parameters of instruments requiring optimization.To address this inadequacy, soil samples for an investigation of heavy metal pollution have been characterized by complex matrices, large weights and different properties of measured elements.Combining acid decomposition on an electric heating plate with ICP-MS, the key to determination of four kinds of main heavy metal pollutants, Cr, Cu, Cd and Pb, in soil were explored and are presented in this study.The results show that the samples can be decomposed completely by a mixture of nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid(50%).The matrix effect is reduced effectively by the work curve and the mass spectrum interference is reduced effectively by both adopting collision/reaction cell technology and by mathematical correction.Integration time and repeated times of ICP-MS have significant influences on testing results of trace Cd, so the optimal parameters of them are 0.4s and 3 times, respectively.The detection limits of this method for Cr, Cu, Cd and Pb are 1.74, 0.89, 0.015 and 0.08μg/g, respectively.This study provides a rapid and accurate method for determining heavy metals in soil.

Two summer maize hybrids, Zhengdan 958 (ZD958) and Xianyu 335 (XY335), were used as experimental materials. 4 sowing depths (3, 5, 7 and 9 cm) and uneven sowing depth (CK) were designed under sand culture and field experiments to investigate the effects of sowing depth on seedling traits and root characteristics of summer maize. The results showed that the seedling emergence rate gradually decreased and seedling emergence time gradually lengthened as the sowing depth increased. Compared with the sowing depth of 3 cm, the seedling emergence rates of ZD958 and XY335 sown at the depth of 9 cm were reduced by 9.4% and 11.8%, respectively, and the seedling emergence duration was prolonged 1.5 d. With the increasing sowing depth, the seedling length and uniformity decreased significantly, the mesocotyl length increased significantly, while the coleoptile length had no significant difference; the primary radicle length gradually decreased, the total length of secondary radicle gradually increased, and the total root length had no significant difference; the total dry mass of seedling and mesocotyl increased significantly, and the total root dry mass had no significant difference. With the increasing sowing depth, the soluble sugar content in each part of seedling increased and the amount of nutritional consumption of germinating seeds increased, the seedling root growth rate increased, but the root activity decreased, and the number of total nodal root and nodal layers increased. With the increasing sowing depth, harvested ears per unit area were reduced by decreased seedling emergence rate and seedling vigor, thus influenced the yield. Objective To investigate and improve the diagnosis and management of small-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the stomach (SCNECS). Methods The clinicopathological information and survival data of 21 cases of SCNECS treated in our hospital from January 2003 to December 2012 were analyzed retrospectively. Results The median survival time of the 21 cases was ( 12. 1 ± 1.6) months. The 1-year overall survival rate of the patients was 33. 3%. Univariate analysis showed that the risk factors of survival were tumor size, lymph node status, tumor stage, treatment and radical operation or not (P <0. 05 for all). Multivariate analysis indicated that independent risk factors were tumor size ⩾4. 6 cm, lymph node metastasis and tumor stage III/IV ( P < 0. 05 for all). Radical operation and comprehensive treatment (surgery + postoperative chemotherapy) were independent protective factors (all P<0.05). Conclusions SCNECS is a rare malignant tumor with early metastasis and poor prognosis. Tumor size, stage, lymph node status, and treatment have potential impact on the prognosis. Using Denghai 605 (DH605) as the experimental material, shading (S) and increasing light (L) treatments from flowering to maturity stage were designed in a field experiment to explore effects of light on dry matter accumulation and nutrient absorption of summer maize. Results showed that grain yield, dry matter accumulation and nutrient absorption decreased significantly after shading but increased after increasing light. Yields in S treatment from 2011 to 2013 were reduced by 59.4%, 79.0% and 60.6% compared to those in CK, while that in L treatment were increased by 16.3%, 12.9% and 6.8%, respectively. The relative N and P absorption increased to a certain extent because of the greater effect of shading on dry matter accumulation than that of N and P absorption. After shading, K absorption of whole plant corn decreased significantly to a greater extent than that of dry matter accumulation decrease. The proportion of nutrient allocated to grains decreased significantly after shading. Dry matter accumulation and N and P absorption rates increased significantly after increasing light, and effects of increasing light on N and P absorption were greater than that of dry matter accumulation. To explore how wave and cavity affect the mechanic property of underwater launched vehicle, the hydrodynamic characteristics of vehicles are researched through numerical simulation, the physical mechanism is analyzed for the development of cavitation-geometrical features near the water level with changeable launching wave phase, and the related flow field data is presented. The results show that the variation of phase leads to the shearing motion of particles close to the free surface, of which intensity and direction are the important factors to cause the asymmetrical structure of cavity on the vehicle shoulder. The asymmetrical feature contributes to an apparent diversity of mechanical load between the upstream and downstream faces, which has an adverse effect on the vehicle attitude during launching, consequently influencing the hit accuracy. This paper proposes a new input-output model, which is called non-competitive input-output model capturing foreign-funded enterprise and trade pattern. The model divides the economy into six parts in view of the great difference in production technology and structure between domestic enterprises and foreign-funded enterprises, and between processing export and non-processing export. The paper also compiled the corresponding table of 2007 for the new model, and estimated the different contribution of domestic enterprises and foreign-funded enterprises to China and the close relationship between them by using the new model. In the production of hemp fiber, degumming technology directly affect the spinning of hemp fiber. In the condition of 100?, the paper uses orthogonal test to study that alkali concentration and reaction time affect the content of pectin. Through studying the experimental results of orthogonal polynomial regression analysis, it establishs the regression equation among the content of hemp fiber pectin, alkali concentration and reaction time. Through the regression equation, it can obtain average error between account figure and experiment figure, which is ± 0.9665%. In the condition of 100?,it could make use of regression equation in order to optimize degumming technology conditions and forecast the content of pectin. Objective: To investigate the effects of different concentrations of Qilan Prescription (QLP) on the proliferation and apoptosis of human PCa DU145 cells and its underlying mechanism., Methods: We treated human PCa DU145 cells with QLP at 400, 200, 100, 50, 25, 12.5, 6.25, 3.125 or 1.56 μg/ml for 24, 48 and 72 hours respectively. Then we observed the morphological changes of the cells, examined their viability by CCK-8 assay, detected their cell cycle and apoptosis by flow cytometry, and determined the protein expressions of cyclin D1, Bax, Bcl-2 and cleaved-caspase 3 in the DU145 cells by Western blot, followed by comparison of the parameters with those obtained from the blank control group., Results: QLP significantly inhibited the growth, reduced the contour clarity and adhesion ability of the DU145 cells at the concentrations of 100, 200 and 400 μg/ml, and markedly decreased the activity of the cells at 200 and 400 μg/ml, most significantly at 400 μg/ml. The number of the G2-phase DU145 cells was dramatically increased in all the concentration groups (P < 0.01), so was the total number of apoptotic DU145 cells (P < 0.01), while that of the S-phase cells remarkably decreased in the 400 μg/ml QLP (P < 0.01) and 200 μg/ml QLP (P < 0.05) groups. The expression of the cyclin D1 protein was significantly down-regulated in the 400 μg/ml QLP group (P < 0.01). That of Bcl-2 was also down-regulated (P < 0.01) while those of Bax and cleaved-caspase 3 up-regulated in the 400 and 200 μg/ml QLP groups (P < 0.01)., Conclusion: QLP can inhibit the proliferation and promote the apoptosis of human PCa DU145 cells, which may be associated with its effects of down-regulating the expression of the cell cycle-related protein cyclin D1, disrupting the Bax-Bcl-2 balance, and up-regulating the expression of cleaved-caspase 3.

Objective: To investigate the relationship between abnormal activation of T cell subsets in peripheral whole blood and the recovery of immune function in persons infected with HIV-1, and to examine the relationship between the size of the viral reservoir of HIV-1 DNA and T cell subsets., Methods: HIV-1-infected persons who underwent routine testing between July 2019 and May 2020 were the target population of the study. According to whether, at the time of enrollment, their CD4 + T cells reached 500 cells/μL after antiretroviral therapy (ART), HIV-1-infected persons were divided into two groups, 76 in the deficiency group and 61 in the immune recovery group. In addition, 22 people who were not exposed to HIV-1, and who were tested negative for HIV-1 antibody were selected as the control group. For the three groups of subjects, tests of the T cell subsets were conducted. A total of 77 HIV-1-infected persons, with 44 from the deficiency group and 33 from the recovery group, were examined for HIV-1 DNA reservoir. The deficiency group and the recovery group were followed up 6 months later and the CD4 + T cell test results of 133 blood samples were collected, with 74 from the deficiency group and 59 from the recovery group., Results: The proportions of activated CD4 + and CD8 + T cells of the deficiency group were higher than those of the recovery group and the control group. The proportions of senescent CD4 + and CD8 + T cells in the deficiency group were comparable to those of the recovery group, which were higher than those of the control group, showing significant differences only in senescent CD8 + T cells, and no significant difference in senescent CD4 + T cells. The deficiency group expressed higher levels of effector memory CD4 + T and CD8 + T cells than the control group did, and the recovery group only expressed a higher level of effect memory CD8 + T cells. Both the deficiency group and the recovery group showed lower levels of central memory CD4 + T and CD8 + T cells than the control group did, and the recovery group had an even lower level of central memory CD4 + T cells than the deficiency group did. The recovery group showed a higher expression level of naïve CD4 + T cells, and the deficiency group and the recovery group had lower expression levels of naïve CD8 + T cells than the control group did. There was no correlation between the size of the viral reservoir of HIV-1 DNA and CD4 + T cell count or the T cell subsets. Activated CD4 + T cells, activated CD8 + T cells, and central memory CD4 + T cells were negatively correlated with the follow-up findings for CD4 + T cells, with r at －0.378, －0.334, and －0.322, respectively ( P <0.05). Naïve CD4 + T cells and naïve CD8 + T cells were positively correlated with the follow-up findings for CD4 + T cell subset, with r at 0.350 and 0.267, respectively ( P <0.05)., Conclusion: HIV-1 infected persons have varying degrees of abnormal immune activation of T cell subsets. Yarrowia lipolytica is a non-conventional yeast with unique physiological and metabolic characteristics. It is suitable for production of various products due to its natural ability to utilize a variety of inexpensive carbon sources, excellent tolerance to low pH, and strong ability to secrete metabolites. Currently, Y . lipolytica has been demonstrated to produce a wide range of carboxylic acids with high efficiency. This article summarized the progress in engineering Y . lipolytica to produce various carboxylic acids by using metabolic engineering and synthetic biology approaches. The current bottlenecks and solutions for high-level production of carboxylic acids by engineered Y . lipolytica were also discussed, with the aim to provide useful information for relevant studies in this field.

Objective To explore the effect of glucose-6-phsophatase, catalytic subunit (G6PC) on the proliferation, migration and invasion of cervical cancer HeLa cells and the possible molecular mechanism. Methods RNA interfering (RNAi) was used to knockdown the expression of G6PC in HeLa cells, and the silencing effect of protein was confirmed by Western blotting. MTT assay and plate clony formation assay were performed to detect the effect of G6PC knockdown on the proliferation of HeLa cells; scratch healing assay and Transwell TM chamber assay were applied to observe the effect of G6PC knockdown on the invasion and migration abilities of HeLa cells; the tube-formation assay was used to detect the effect of G6PC knockdown on the angiogenesis ability of HeLa cells; the expression levels of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT)-related proteins and AKT/mTOR signaling pathway-related proteins were determined by Western blotting. Results The expression of G6PC was effectively silenced by RNAi technology. G6PC knockdown obviously inhibited the proliferation, migration and angiogenesis of HeLa cells. Meanwhile, G6PC knockdown suppressed the EMT process, the phosphorylation of AKT and mTOR proteins. Conclusion G6PC knockdown can effectively inhibit the proliferation, migration, angiogenesis and EMT process of HeLa cells, which is related to the blocked AKT/mTOR signaling pathway.

Objective: To investigate the effect of vascularized peroneus longus tendon graft reconstruction on anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) insertion in rabbits., Methods: Eighty healthy New Zealand white rabbits were harvested to prepare ACL injury models and randomly divided into two groups ( n =40). The ACL was reconstructed with vascularized peroneus longus tendon graft in group A and peroneus longus tendon graft without blood supply in group B. The survival of animals and the healing of incision were observed after operation; the grafts were taken for gross and histological observations at 4, 8, and 16 weeks; the biomechanical test of the grafts was carried out to record the maximum tensile strength and incidence of ACL insertion rupture at 8 and 16 weeks., Results: All animals survived until the experiment completed. General observation showed that the tunnel was combined with grafts, the vascular infiltration was abundant, and no obvious boundary between the tunnel and grafts existed at 16 weeks in group A; there was still an obvious boundary between the tunnel and graft in group B. Histological observation showed that the collagen fibers between tendon and bone in group A increased gradually, the dense fiber connection was formed, and the "tidal-line" like structure similar to the normal ACL insertion was formed at 16 weeks; but the"tidal-line" like structure was not obvious in group B. Biomechanical test showed that there was no significant difference in the incidence of ACL insertion rupture at 8 and 16 weeks between group A and group B ( P =0.680; P =0.590), but the maximum tensile strength at 8 and 16 weeks were higher in group A than in group B ( t =18.503, P =0.001; t =25.391, P =0.001)., Conclusion: The vascularized peroneus longus tendon graft for ACL reconstruction can obviously promote the outcome of the ACL insertion.

Objective: To observe and compare the cytological and biological differences between human normal and degenerated nucleus pulposus (NP), and to investigate the repair effect of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IFG-1) and platelet derived growth factor (PDGF) on human degenerated NP., Methods: Human degenerative and normal NP tissues were obtained from operative patients, a portion of which were processed into tissue sections and HE staining was performed to observe the morphological changes of nucleus pulposus cells (NPCs) before and after degeneration of NP. Immunohistochemistry staining was used to determine the expression levels of collagen type Ⅰ, collagen type Ⅱ, B-cell lymphoma 2 (Bcl-2), Bcl-2 associated X (Bax) proteins. Another portion of tissues were isolated and cultured and NPCs morphology was observed under inverted microscope. Western blot analysis was used to detect collagen type Ⅱ protein expression. Then, the gene transfection experiments were launched, including 4 groups, with group A designed as degenerated NPCs only, and groups B, C, and D of degenerated NPCs transfected with IGF-1 gene lentiviral particles, PDGF gene lentiviral particles, and lentiviral particles carrying IGF-1 and PDGF double genes, respectively. At 21 days after transfection, the cell morphology of each group was observed under inverted microscope, the positive rates of IGF-1 and PDGF of each group were measured by flow cytometry, and the expression of collagen type Ⅱ protein was detected by using immunohistochemistry staining and Western blot., Results: HE staining showed that there were a large number of notochordal cells and a small number of chondrocytes in the central NP tissue of normal group, while the NPCs in degeneration group were significantly reduced, and a large proportion of fibrocartilage tissues were found in NP tissue. Immunohistochemistry staining showed that the percentages of collagen type Ⅰ and Bax protein-positive cells in degeneration group were significantly higher than those of normal group, while the percentages of collagen type Ⅱ and Bcl-2 protein-positive cells were significantly lower than those of normal group ( P <0.05). Western blot showed that the relative expression level of collagen type Ⅱ protein in degeneration group was significantly lower than that in normal group ( t =65.493, P =0.000). At 21 days after gene transfection, compared with group A, the cell viability of groups B, C, and D increased and the morphology became more regular. Flow cytometry showed that the percentages of IGF-1-positive cells in groups B and D were significantly higher than that in group A, and the percentages of PDGF-positive cells in groups C and D were significantly higher than that in group A ( P <0.05). Immunohistochemistry staining showed that the positive stainings of collagen type Ⅱ in groups A, B, C, and D was (±), (+), (+), and (++), respectively. Western blot showed that the relative expression of collagen type Ⅱ protein in groups A, B, C, and D increased by degrees, and the differences between groups were significant ( P <0.05)., Conclusion: Both IGF-1 and PDGF can reverse the degeneration of intervertebral discs NPCs and they have synergistic effects, providing experimental basis for its application in clinical treatment approaches for degenerative disc disease.

Objective: To observe the effect of Melittin on collagen type II (Col-II) expression of rat endplate chondrocytes (EPCs) induced by interleukin 1β (IL-1β)., Methods: Primary EPCs from the lumbar vertebra of 4-week-old Sprague Dawley rats were cultured in vitro and identified by morphological observation, toluidine blue staining and Col-II immunofluorescence staining. Then, MTT assay was used to determine the optimal concentration of IL-1 and Melittin. Next, EPCs at passage 3 were randomly divided into 4 groups: no treatment was done in group A as control group; the optimal concentration of IL-1β, Melittin, and both IL-1β and Melittin were used in groups B, C, and D respectively. The expression of Col-II was detected by Western blot after 48 hours intervention., Results: Under inverted microscope, the first generation EPCs were polygonal; cell proliferation decreased after fifth generation, and cell morphology changed into fusiform. The acidic mucosubstance in the cytoplasm (such as Aggrecan) was stained dark blue by toluidine blue. After marking Col-II by immunofluorescence, the positive expression of cytoskeleton (green fluorescence) could be observed. MTT assay showed that IL-1β and Melittin could inhibit the EPCs in a dose-dependent manner after intervention of 24 and 48 hours, and the optimal concentrations of IL-1β and Melittin intervention were 10 ng/mL and 1.0 μg/mL respectively. Compared with group A, the expression of Col-II was significantly reduced in group B, and was significantly increased in group C by Western blot assay, but there was no significant difference between group D and group A. The Col-II expression levels of groups A, B, C, and D were 0.991±0.024, 0.474±0.127, 1.913±0.350, and 1.159±0.297 respectively, showing significant difference between the other groups ( P <0.05) except between group A and group D ( P >0.05)., Conclusion: Melittin has a protective effect on endplate cartilage, and the research results provide experimental basis for the prevention and treatment of spinal degenerative disease.

Objective: To review the research status in respect of interspinous distraction devices (IDD) in the treatment of degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis (DLSS)., Methods: Recent original articles related to IDD in the treatment of DLSS were retrieved extensively, and the effectiveness was analyzed and summarized., Results: Its short-term effectiveness was superior to that of conservative treatment, no significant difference was found when compared with decompression or fusion alone. Its complication rate was higher than that of decompression or fusion alone, although complication dose not significantly affect treatment results, it still will increase the medical care cost of patients., Conclusions: IDD is appropriate for patients who have failed to nonoperative treatment measures and can not tolerate open surgery, but the long-term effectiveness and durability of IDD need further research.

Objective: To study the effect of fatty acids composition on swarming mobility in Pseudomonas aeruginosa., Methods: We constructed a fabF-knockout mutant of PAO1 (YFF-1) by double exchange principle, overexpressed FabF in YFF-1 mutant to recover the mobility, and compared the swarming ability of wild type, YFF-1 mutant and mutant with plasmid pUCP18Gm-fabF. The change of fatty acids composition was analyzed using gas chromatography to explain the difference of swarming ability., Results: Swarming ability disappeared in YFF-1 mutant and was recovered in YFF-1 with plasmid pUCP18Gm-fabF. Gas chromatography analysis revealed that fatty acids composition changed in YFF-1. The cis-vaccinate acid (C18:1delta11) content decreased from 33.6% to 8.9%, and the ratio of unsaturated fatty acids to saturated fatty acids (UFA: SFA) was deduced from 0.96 to 0.74. The recovery of cis-vaccinate acid content was 20.9% and UFA:SFA 1.09 after expression of fabF., Conclusion: Expression level of FabF played an important role in regulating swarming ability of PAO1. The decrease of cis-vaccinate acid content and unsaturation degree of fatty acids, especially the sharp decrease of cis-vaccinate acid, may be vital causes of swarming ability disappearance in YFF-1.

Two summer maize hybrids, Zhengdan 958 (ZD958) and Xianyu 335 (XY335), were used as experimental materials. 4 sowing depths (3, 5, 7 and 9 cm) and uneven sowing depth (CK) were designed under sand culture and field experiments to investigate the effects of sowing depth on seedling traits and root characteristics of summer maize. The results showed that the seedling emergence rate gradually decreased and seedling emergence time gradually lengthened as the sowing depth increased. Compared with the sowing depth of 3 cm, the seedling emergence rates of ZD958 and XY335 sown at the depth of 9 cm were reduced by 9.4% and 11.8%, respectively, and the seedling emergence duration was prolonged 1.5 d. With the increasing sowing depth, the seedling length and uniformity decreased significantly, the mesocotyl length increased significantly, while the coleoptile length had no significant difference; the primary radicle length gradually decreased, the total length of secondary radicle gradually increased, and the total root length had no significant difference; the total dry mass of seedling and mesocotyl increased significantly, and the total root dry mass had no significant difference. With the increasing sowing depth, the soluble sugar content in each part of seedling increased and the amount of nutritional consumption of germinating seeds increased, the seedling root growth rate increased, but the root activity decreased, and the number of total nodal root and nodal layers increased. With the increasing sowing depth, harvested ears per unit area were reduced by decreased seedling emergence rate and seedling vigor, thus influenced the yield. In addition, uniform sowing depth could improve the canopy uniformity and relative characteristics, then increase the yield.

In order to provide the test analysis technology to support the exploration and development of niobium and tantalum resource, based on the special chemical properties of Nb and Ta in geochemical sample, we studied the detection methods for the content of Nb and Ta in geochemical sample by using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The results show that the sample dissolution and instrumental parameter of ICP-MS, especially the former have significant influence? on detection results. Therefore, optimizing important parameters of sample dissolution is the key of the detection technology. The optimal parameters are that the weight of sample is 50 mg; the dosage of HF acid is 15 mL; the concentration of nitric acid and tartaric acid in the sample solution is 2% and 1.5%, respectively; the validity period of detection for sample solution ≤1 d. The detection method has been validated by the national geochemistry standard reference material. The precise and exaction of method meet the required of industry standards. The detection limits of method for Nb and Ta are 1.05 and 0.13 μg · g(-1), respectively. The experiment proved that the ICP-MS detection methods, which using certain preparation process of sample solutions, is suitable for accurate and rapid determination of Nb and Ta in geochemical sample, especially geochemical survey samples which with a large amount and low content of Nb and Ta.

Objective: To investigate and improve the diagnosis and management of small-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the stomach (SCNECS)., Methods: The clinicopathological information and survival data of 21 cases of SCNECS treated in our hospital from January 2003 to December 2012 were analyzed retrospectively., Results: The median survival time of the 21 cases was (12.1±1.6) months. The 1-year overall survival rate of the patients was 33.3%. Univariate analysis showed that the risk factors of survival were tumor size, lymph node status, tumor stage, treatment and radical operation or not (P<0.05 for all). Multivariate analysis indicated that independent risk factors were tumor size ≥4.6 cm, lymph node metastasis and tumor stage III/IV (P<0.05 for all). Radical operation and comprehensive treatment (surgery + postoperative chemotherapy) were independent protective factors (all P<0.05)., Conclusions: SCNECS is a rare malignant tumor with early metastasis and poor prognosis. Tumor size, stage, lymph node status, and treatment have potential impact on the prognosis. Comprehensive treatment based on radical operation may improve the survival of SCNECS patients.

Using Denghai 605 (DH4605) as the experimental material, shading (S) and increasing light (L) treatments from flowering to maturity stage were designed in a field experiment to explore effects of light on dry matter accumulation and nutrient absorption of summer maize. Results showed that grain yield, dry matter accumulation and nutrient absorption decreased significantly after shading but increased after increasing light. Yields in S treatment from 2011 to 2013 were reduced by 59.4%, 79.0% and 60.6% compared to those in CK, while that in L treatment were increased by 16.3%, 12.9% and 6.8%, respectively. The relative N and P absorption increased to a certain extent because of the greater effect of shading on dry matter accumulation than that of N and P absorption. After shading, K absorption of whole plant corn decreased significantly to a greater extent than that of dry matter accumulation decrease. The proportion of nutrient allocated to grains decreased significantly after shading. Dry matter accumulation and N and P absorption rates increased significantly after increasing light, and effects of increasing light on N and P absorption were greater than that of dry matter accumulation. Nutrient accumulation and the proportion allocated to grain increased significantly after increasing light.

Objective: To explore the effect and mechanism of cinnabaris and realgar in promoting awake effect of endotoxin- induced brain injury rat applied with Angong Niuhuang Wan., Method: Normal rats implanted cortical electrode in advance were divided into 6 groups: control, model, the Angong Niuhuang Wan (AGNH, 0.4, 0.2 g · kg(-1)), the Angong Niuhuang Wan without cinnabaris and realgar (QZX-AGNH, 0.32, 0.16 g · kg(-1)). Rats in the control and model groups were given distilled water. After three days of intragastric administration, the brain injury model was injected with endotoxin through tail vein. Then trace electro-corticogram (EcoG) 1-6 h after LPS injection, and compare the power and relative power of beta (β) and delta-waves (δ) at 6 h of these groups. The content of acetylcholine (Ach) and the affinity of M-receptor (M-R) in cortex and brainstem were detected by alkaline hydroxylamine colorimetric method and radioactive ligand binding assay, respectively., Result: AGNH (0.4, 0.2 g · kg(-1)) could increase the power and relative power of β and AGNH (0.4 g · kg(-1)) showed better action on brain electrical activation. QZX-AGNH showed weak effect on it. AGNH (0.4 g · kg(-1)) could increase the affinity of M-R in cortex and the content of Ach in brainstem. The action of QZX-AGNH was not obvious., Conclusion: In endotoxin-induced brain injury rats, AGNH can raise the cholinergic system function of cortex, and strengthen the uplink of cortex activation of brainstem cholinergic system, improve the level of cortical activity and enhance the activation of EcoG to promote the body's awakening. QZX-AGNH show weak effect. Cinnabaris and realgar play an important role in promoting awake effect in endotoxin-induced brain injury applied with Angong Niuhuang Wan. The mechanism may be related to cortical and brainstem cholinergic system function.

Objective: To observe the influence on adjacent lumbar bone density after strengthening of T12, L1 segment vertebral osteoporotic compression fracture by percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) and percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP) in postmenopausal female., Methods: Between January 2008 and June 2011, 59 patients with T12, L1 segment thoracolumbar osteoporotic compression fracture were treated with PVP in 29 cases (PVP group) and PKP in 30 cases (PKP group), who were in accordance with the inclusion and exclusion criteria. No significant difference was found in gender, duration of menopause, disease druation, causes of injury, fractured vertebral body, and vertebral fracture classification between 2 groups (P > 0.05). The kyphosis Cobb angle of surgical area was measured at preoperation, 1 week after operation, and last follow-up; the lower three lumbar spine bone mineral density (BMD) of the surgical area, the femoral neck BMD, and body mass index (BMI) of patients were measured at perioperative period and last follow-up to find out the statement of anti-osteoporosis; FRAX online tools were used to evaluate the probability of major osteoporotic fracture and hip fracture of the next 10 years., Results: The average follow-up was 25.5 months (range, 12-48 months) in 2 groups. There was significant difference in kyphosis Cobb angle of T12, L1 between preoperation and last follow-up in 2 groups (P < 0.05); the Cobb angle of PKP group was significantly less than that of PVP group at 1 week after operation and last follow-up (P < 0.05). No significant difference was found in BMI between 2 groups, and between perioperative period and last follow-up in the same group (P > 0.05). The lower three lumbar spine BMD of the surgical area and its T value at last follow-up was improved significantly when compared with BMD at perioperative period (P < 0.05); there was no significant difference in the lower three lumbar spine BMD and its T value between 2 groups at perioperative period (P > 0.05), but significant difference was found between two groups at last follow-up (P < 0.05). Difference was not significant in the femoral neck BMD and its T value between 2 groups, and between perioperative period and last follow-up in the same group (P > 0.05). The probability of major osteoporotic fracture and hip fracture of the next 10 years was not significantly different between 2 groups and between perioperative period and last follow-up in the same group (P > 0.05)., Conclusion: The increased BMD of adjacent lumbar spine can improve the strength of the vertebral body and reduce the incidence of adjacent vertebral fracture in patients with T12, L1 segment vertebral osteoporotic compression fracture after PVP/PKP, and PKP is superior to PVP increasing BMD of adjacent lumbar spine.

Objective: Gene knock out technique is very important for gene function study. We developed a simple and efficient method to knock out chromosomal genes in Escherichia coli., Methods: Using the Escherichia coli Keio single-mutant library, we combined Red homology recombination with P1 phage transduction and developed a method to knock out the genes in Escherichia coli MG1655., Results: We obtained beta-oxidation mutants deltafadD, deltafadE and deltafadD-deltafadE and fatty acid synthesis mutants deltafabH, deltafabF and deltafabH-deltafabF. There were no obvious growth changes between deltafadD or deltafadE mutant strains and MG1655. However, deltafabH and deltafabH-deltafabF mutant strains grew much slower than the wild type strain. The fatty acid contents in deltafadD, deltafadE and deltafadD-deltafadE were 18.2 mg/L, 20.0 mg/L and 19.2 mg/L respectively, higher than 17.5 mg/L in wild type. The fatty acid contents in deltafabH, deltafabF and deltafabH-deltafabF were 12.6 mg/L, 15.2 mg/L and 11.2mg/L respectively, lower than that in wild type., Conclusion: Using Keio mutant library, P1 phage transduction and resistant gene elimination, we have established a simple and efficient method for gene knock-out in Escherichia coli.

Objective: To investigate the status of the clinical agency of detection, management, and health insurance for hypertensive patients in urban and rural communities of five provinces in China in 2010, in order to provide fundamental data for implementation and evaluation of community health management of hypertensive patients in basic public health service., Methods: From Jiangsu, Shandong, Hebei, Sichuan and Gansu provinces, cities and districts (counties) were selected according to economic development level and 10 survey sites were finally determined. In each survey site, 3-4 communities or townships were selected by cluster sampling methods in 2010. A total of 8326 eligible hypertensive patients (4363 in urban and 3963 in rural) were included. The urban-rural difference of clinical agency and health insurance was compared for hypertensive patients., Results: In urban areas, 43.74% (1867/4268) hypertensive patients were first diagnosed at hospitals of district level or above, 25.07% (1070/4268) at community health service centers (CHSC), and 20.20% (862/4268) at community health service stations (CHSS), respectively; 30.72% (1274/4147) and 31.11% (1290/4147) patients chose CHSC and CHSS for their follow-up visiting, respectively; 60.23% (3073/5102) antihypertensive medication was obtained from pharmacies. In rural areas, 54.58% (2133/3908) hypertensive patients were first diagnosed at village clinics, 22.36% (874/3908) at township hospitals, and 18.86% (737/3908) at hospitals of county level or above; 70.49% (2695/3823) patients chose village clinics for their follow-up visiting; 46.23% (2116/4577) antihypertensive medication was obtained from village clinics, and 36.29% (1661/4577) from pharmacies. The main reasons for choosing clinical agency for both urban and rural patients were convenience (45.79%, 6276/13 706) and low cost (11.78%, 1614/13 706). The proportions of reimbursements for hospitalization expenses and total medical expenses for hypertensive patients in urban in the past year were 66.67% and 34.78%, respectively, which were much higher than those in rural (35.71% and 9.50%) (Z value was -12.13 and -17.56, P < 0.01)., Conclusion: Community-based hypertension detection and routine blood pressure measurement during clinical visiting should be further strengthened to improve early diagnosis of hypertension. The development of community-based clinical agency should be able to provide convenient and low cost health service for hypertensive patients to improve treatment, follow-up and control of hypertension.

Batch experiments involving soil-aqueous systems were conducted to determine sorption of Triton X-100 onto natural loess as a function of equilibrium time, Triton X-100 concentration, ionic strength, and pH value. The results showed that the equilibration time for sorption of Triton X-100 onto loess was about 30 min. The sorption kinetics of Triton X-100 fitted well to the pseudo-first-order kinetic model and the corresponding parameters Q(e), k1, and r2 were 3.041 mg x g(-1), 0.102 min(-1), and 0.9934, respectively. Sorption isotherm was found to be distinctly nonlinear. The Sips model provided the best fitting to the experimental data among the four isothermal models tested. Q(max) and r2 of Sips model were 3.202 mg x g(-1) and 0.998 7, respectively. It was found that the ionic strength and the pH of the solution had a significant influence on the sorption of Triton X-100 onto loess. The amount of Triton X-100 sorbed onto the loess increased significantly with increasing concentration of NaCl. Sorption of Triton X-100 onto loess was influenced greatly by pH, the amount of Triton X-100 sorbed decreased as the pH increased.

Objective: To summarize the research progress of secondary fracture of adjacent vertebral body after percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) and percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP)., Methods: Recent literature concerning PVP and PKP was extensively reviewed and summarized., Results: The main reasons of secondary fracture of adjacent vertebral body after PVP and PKP are the natural process of osteoporosis, the initial fracture type, the bone cement, the surgical approach, the bone mineral density, and other factors., Conclusion: Secondary fracture of adjacent vertebral body after PVP and PKP is a challenge for the clinician, a variety of factors need to be suficiently considered and be confirmed by a lot of basic and clinical epidemiological studies.

The chemical-enhanced washing of Cu2+ or/and phenanthrene (PHE) single or combined contaminated loess soil in Gansu Province was investigated with disodium ethylene diamine tetraacetate (EDTA) or/and sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) by the batch equilibrium experiments. The experimental results showed that EDTA or/and SDS could remove efficiently Cu2+ and/or PHE in single-contaminated or combined contaminated loess soils. The Cu2+ removal was significantly promoted by coexisting PHE with low concentration of EDTA (EDTA < 0.1 mol/L), however, the removal was slightly hindered with high concentration of EDTA (EDTA > 0.1 mol/L). As for the PHE removal by EDTA, it was founded that coexisting Cu2+ could enhance the PHE removal in the investigated ranges of the concentrations of EDTA. When concentration of EDTA was 0.01 mol/L, the removal of combined PHE was 20.94% higher than that of single PHE. The experimental results of the removal of contaminations by SDS showed that coexisting Cu2+ could suppress slightly the removal of PHE at a concentration of less than 4 000 mg/L SDS, but could assist the removal of PHE in 5 000 mg/L or higher SDS concentration. On the contrary, the influence of coexisting PHE for the removal of Cu2+ by SDS was that it facilitated Cu2+ extraction by low concentrations of SDS, however, it inhibited the removal of Cu2+ at high concentrations of SDS. The removal efficiencies of PHE and Cu2+ were improved greatly as using combined EDTA-SDS. Beside, there are some differences in the removal efficiency of the oth contaminants with the different sequence of EDTA and SDS added in the washing solution. In EDTA washing followed by SDS, SDS washing followed by EDTA and mixture of SDS-EDTA washing concurrently, the removal of Cu2+ is 91.40%, 95.10% and 96.50%, respectively, which is 28.46%, 32.16%, 33.56% higher than that of combined, 62.94%, by single EDTA. For PHE, the removal is 68.30%, 85.40%, 84.95%, respectively, which is 16.14%, 33.24%, 32. 79% higher than that of combined PHE, 52.16%, by single SDS. Thus, SDS washing followed by EDTA or mixture of SDS-EDTA washing concurrently is considered as the optimal washing sequence for PHE and Cu2+ removal.

Objective: To investigate the current situation of drug cost, hospitalization cost and direct medical expense in community health management of hypertensive patients, in order to lay foundation for evaluating whether the community health management in basic public health service has cost-effect in Health Economics., Methods: A total of 8326 hypertensive patients from 10 survey pilots in 5 provinces were selected by cluster sampling methods, including 3967 patients who took part in community health management for over 1 year as management group and 4359 cases who have never taken part in community health management as control group. The essential information of research objects were collected by questionnaire; and the medical cost information in the last year (from November 2009 to November 2010) were collected retrospectively. The different annual medical treatment cost, hospitalization cost and direct medical expense in the two groups were compared and analyzed., Results: The average annual drug cost in hypertension was (621.50 ± 1337.78) yuan per patient; while the cost was (616.13 ± 1248.40) yuan in management group and (626.44 ± 1414.30) yuan in control group respectively. The average annual drug cost of hypertensive patients who took medicine therapy was (702.05 ± 1401.79) yuan per person, while the cost in the management group ((688.50 ± 1300.70) yuan) was much lower than it in control group ((714.64 ± 1489.60) yuan). The annual average drug cost in urban was (731.88 ± 1403.31) yuan per person, which was higher than it in rural as (407.44 ± 1171.44) yuan per person. The average hospitalized rate was 12.2% (1014/8326), and the average annual cost among the hospitalized patients was (9264.47 ± 18 088.49) yuan per person; while the cost was (7583.70 ± 13 267.00) yuan in management group, which was lower than it in control group as (11 028.00 ± 21 919.00) yuan. The average annual hospitalized cost in hypertension was (1064.87 ± 6804.83) yuan per person; while the cost was (936.73 ± 5284.90) yuan in management group, which was lower than it in control group as (1181.50 ± 7937.90) yuan. The average annual direct medical expense in hypertension was (2275.08 ± 8225.66) yuan per person; while the expense was (2165.10 ± 6564.60) yuan in management group and (2375.20 ± 9487.60) yuan in control group. The average annual direct medical expense in urban ((2801.06 ± 9428.54) yuan per person) was higher than it in rural ((1254.70 ± 4990.27) yuan per person)., Conclusion: The community health or standardized management of hypertensive patients can reduce the average annual drug cost and hospitalization cost (around 26 yuan and 245 yuan separately); and thereby save the annual direct medical expense per capita in hypertension (around 210 yuan). In the reform and development of national medical health system, we should enhance and promote the standardized community health management of hypertensive patients.

Pb pollution on the surfaces of buildings and devices at a coking plant was studied. The objectives of this study were to determine the Pb content and its spatial variation on the surfaces, and to assess the potential health risk from this Pb. Ninety-four wipe samples were collected from 56 buildings and devices at the coking plant, and their Pb contents were determined. Surface Pb concentrations ranged from 0-538 micro x g/dm2, and concentrations in 78.7% of the samples exceeded the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) standard (2.69 microg/dm2). By area, the proportion of samples with concentrations greater than the US HUD standard were 78.9% in the office and living zone, 75.0% in the refining zone, 73.7% in the coking zone and 78.6% in the coke-gas zone. Among the various types of surfaces, the coke pusher had the highest average surface concentration of Pb. The average surface concentrations of Ph on common coking plant surface materials followed the order paints > brick > cement > glass, and the concentrations in 94.4% of the wipe samples taken from paint surfaces exceeded the US HUD standard.

Objective: To investigate the incidence of lymph node metastasis (LNM) in early esophageal carcinoma and the techniques of dissection., Methods: Standard three-field dissection was performed in patients with small superficial esophageal carcinoma detected by endoscopy from 1993 - 2007. The lymph node metastases in different regions were identified by histopathology. The survival rate of the cases was analyzed., Results: A total of 149 patients with early esophageal carcinoma were identified by postoperative pathological examination. The overall lymph node metastasis (LNM) rate was 22.8%, and the degree of LNM was 2.4% in all fields. Most lymph node metastases from upper thoracic esophageal carcinoma were found in cervical and the right upper mediastinal nodes. The LNM from middle thoracic esophageal carcinoma were approximately equal in the cervical, mediastinal, and abdominal lymph nodes, and abdominal lymph node metastasis predominated in lower thoracic esophageal carcinoma. The metastatic rate of LNM adjacent to the right recurrent laryngeaal nerve was the highest (44.1%). Significant differences were shown among the rates of LNM in relation to different macroscopic pattern, depth of invasion and differentiation of tumor (P < 0.01), but not to the longitudinal length of tumor (P > 0.05). The overall 5-year survival rate was 77.9%. It was 87.0% in patients without LNM, and 47.1% in those with LNM., Conclusion: Lymph node metastasis in early esophageal carcinoma is in a high frequency. Patients with tumor invasion into the mucosa or lamina propria but without lymph node metastasis may undergo a local operation such as endoscopic mucosectomy and have a good prognosis. Patients with tumor invasion into the muscularis mucosae or submucosa should be treated with radical surgery with three-field lymphadenectomy, especially, to dissect the lymph nodes adjacent to the recurrent laryngeal nerve.

Objective: To investigate the correlation of expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (Ki67) with sensitivity to neoadjuvant chemoradiation in rectal adenocarcinoma., Methods: Samples of pretreatment biopsies and the resected specimens after neoadjuvant therapy in 32 patients with rectal adenocarcinoma were collected, and the expression of Ki67 and VEGF were detected by immunohistochemistry using specific antibodies. The correlation of Ki67 and VEGF expression with clinicopathological factors were analyzed., Results: The level of VEGF expression was significantly correlated with lymph node metastasis (P = 0.033), depth of tumor invasion (P = 0.007) and TNM stage (P = 0.016), but not with histological type, tumor size, age and gender of the patients (P > 0.05). However, VEGF expression was found to be negatively and significantly correlated with the sensitivity to neoadjuvant chemoradiation (P = 0.016), and a transient increase of VEGF expression was detected in the resected specimens after neoadjuvant therapy (P = 0.035). Ki67 labeling index (Ki67-LI) was found to be significantly correlated with lymph node metastasis (P = 0.028), but not with tumor size, age and gender of the patients (P > 0.05). It was also found that tumors with lower Ki67-LI expression were more sensitive to neoadjuvant therapy than that with higher expression of Ki67-LI (P = 0.032). In contrast with VEGF, the Ki67 expression level decreased after neoadjuvant therapy, but no statistical significance was found between pretreatment and posttreatment specimens (P > 0.05)., Conclusion: The preliminary results of this study demonstrate that the expression of VEGF and Ki67 in pretreatment biopsy of rectal adenocarcinoma may be used as a biomarker to predict tumor response to neoadjuvant chemoradiation.

Objective: To investigate effects of non-surgical treatment on temporal mandibular joint(TMJ) of adult low-angle subjects with severe skeletal Class III deformity., Methods: Thirteen low-angle patients with severe skeletal Class III malocclusion (male 5, female 8) were included in the study. The average age was 21.3 years old. They were treated with OPA-K straight wire technique. Helkimo index evaluation was made before and after treatment. Lateral cephalometric films and corrected TMJ lateral cephalometric radiograghs were taken before and after treatment, and linear and area measurement were observed. All data were analyzed with SPSS 12.0 software., Results: After non-surgical treatment, Helkimo indexes of all patients redistributed. The line distance and area of anterior space in TMJ increased while the posterior space decreased. Linear percent decreased from 20.81% to 8.04%, and area proportion decreased from 1.62 to 1.01. Anterior space was the same as the posterior. Condyles and mandibles were retruded., Conclusion: After non-surgical therapy in adult low-angle subjects with severe skeletal Class III malocclusion, condyles remove posteriorly from more anterior position to normal concentric position, and temporo-mandibular disorders symptom is relieved and cured effectively.

Objective: To investigate the effects of orthodontic treatment on temporomandibular joint (TMJ) in adult low-angle patients with skeletal class III malocclusion., Methods: Sixteen adult female low-angle patients with skeletal class III malocclusion were included in the study. All patients were treated with OPA-K straight wire technique. Lateral cephalometric and corrected transcranial projection films were taken before and after treatment. Cephalometric analysis was carried out. All data were analyzed statistically., Results: After orthodontic treatment, the linear measurement and area of anterior space in TMJ increased by 0.27 mm (P < 0.001) and 0.70 mm(2) (P < 0.01), respectively, while the posterior space decreased by 0.24 mm and 0.67 mm(2), respectively (P < 0.001). Linear ratio decreased from 22.13% to 9.64% (P < 0.001), and area proportion decreased from 1.56 to 1.19 (P < 0.01). Anterior space became equal to the posterior space. Cephalometric analysis showed that point Co, Ar, Go and Pg were all retruded (P < 0.05)., Conclusions: After orthodontic therapy, the condyle moved posteriorly to normal concentric position, which would be helpful in alleviating temporomandibular disorders (TMD) symptom in adult low-angle patients with skeletal class III malocclusion.

Objective: To measure the frictions between FAS bracket and stainless steel wire under different two conditions, and compare two traditional self-ligating brackets., Methods: FAS bracket was a new-style self-ligating bracket with a friction adjusting system (FAS) to adjust the friction as the wires slide in the bracket. Firstly, FAS bracket 20 times of original size was made, then the frictions were measured respectively made by the steel round wires of diameters 8.128 0 mm or the steel square wires in size of 9.1440 mm x 12.7000 mm. It was divided into two adjusting states, and used the same method to measure Damon III and SPEED bracket in 20 times of original size., Results: With the shim entirely drew in, all the frictions of the arch wire had no significant difference with the Damon III. When 8.1280 mm stainless steel round wire was used, SPEED bracket had no significant difference with FAS. When 9.1440 mm x 12.7000 mm square wire was used, they had significant difference (P < 0.05). On turning half a circle, all the frictions of the arch wire had significant difference with two tradition bracket (P < 0.01)., Conclusion: The new-style FAS bracket can adjust the friction efficiently. Under no pressure state, the friction force is similar to Damon III. Under pressure state, FAS bracket locks the wires, and provides the sliding of wires.

Objective: To probe the mechanism of EEG activation and Xingnao Kaiqiao, evaluate the actions of cinnabaris and realgar in Xingnao Kaiqiao of Angong Niuhuang pill, guess the significance of cinnabaris and realgar in specific indication treatment of Angong Niuhuang pill, and provide experimental bases for the rationality of Angong Niuhuang pill building-up., Method: Seventy SD rats were divided into seven groups: the control, the model, the Angong Niuhuang pill (0.4 g x kg(-1)), the Angong Niuhuang pill without cinnabaris and realgar (0.32 g x kg(-1)) , the cinnabaris and realgar (0.08 g x kg(-1)), the realgar (0.04 g x kg(-1)), and the cinnabaris (0.04 g x kg(-1)). Rats in the control and model groups were given distilled water. After three days of administration, the brain damage model was made by Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) injection through caudal vein and the catecholamine (CA) and its metabolites levels in cerebral cortex, included noradrenaline (NE), adrenaline (E), 3-methocy-4-hydroxyphenylglycol (MHPG), 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT), 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5-HIAA), dopamine (DA), Homovanlic acid (HVA), 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid (DOPAC), were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography with electrochemical detector (HPLC-ECD). Influences of Angong Niuhuang pill, Angong Niuhuang pill without cinnabaris and realgar, cinnabaris and realgar on monoamine transmitters were observed in brain damage rats caused by LPS., Result: LPS could raise NE, 5-HT, 5-HIAA levels and reduce E, DOPAC levels, but had no influence on HVA, DA, MHPG levels. Angong Niuhuang pill had the trend of raising E, DOPAC levels and reducing NE level, and could reduce 5-HIAA level obviously comparing with models. But Angong Niuhuang pill without cinnabaris and realgar was different, NE level was significantly higher compared to models and Angong Niuhuang pill, DA level was also significantly higher compared to all groups. Cinnabaris and realgar had the same action trends with Angong Niuhuang pill, and separate realgar could obviously reduce 5-HT., Conclusion: Influence on CA and its metabolites levels in cerebral cortex may be one of the mechanisms of Angong Niuhuang pill's EEG activation, and cinnabaris and realgar have the same action on CA levels in cerebral cortex. The results of the present work allow us to put forward the hypothesis that cinnabaris and realgar are most likely one of the important material basis in Xingnao Kaiqiao of Angong Niuhuang pill.
