Objective: To construct a prediction model for the clinical supply of blood components in Xi'an City from 2023 to 2025. Methods: Based on the blood supply data of the Blood Management Information System of Shaanxi Provincial Blood Center from January 2013 to December 2022, a gray prediction model and an exponential curve fitting model were used to construct the prediction model, and the optimal prediction model was determined according to the error parameters of the relevant indicators of the model. The supply of blood components in Xi'an from 2023 to 2025 was predicted. Results: The fitting equations of the exponential curve fitting model to predict the supply of suspended red blood cells, platelets and cryoprecipitate in Xi'an were, x （1） （ t +1）=1.16e 0.04 t ， x （1） （ t +1）=1.04e 0.12 t and x （1） （ t +1）=1.01e 1.10 t , respectively. The mean absolute errors (mean relative errors) of the exponential curve fitting model in predicting the supply of suspended red blood cells, platelets and cryoprecipitate in Xi'an were 10 488.7 (0.05%), 2 114.9 (0.08%) and 3 089.6 (0.07%), respectively, which were lower than those of the gray prediction model, about 10 488.7 (3.44%), 2 152.78 (8.20%) and 3 441.35 (7.92%), respectively. The exponential curve fitting model predicted that the clinical supply of blood components in Xi'an would increase year by year from 2023 to 2025, and the clinical supply of suspended red blood cells, platelets, and cryoprecipitate in Xi'an would increase to 409 467 U, 69 818 therapeutic volume and 94 724 U, respectively by 2025. Conclusion: The exponential curve fitting model can make a good prediction of the clinical supply of blood components in Xi'an City.

Respiratory papilloma is a relatively common benign tumor of the respiratory tract, and a few patients may develop malignant changes. The disease has an insidious onset and lacks specific clinical manifestations, and its manifestations are closely related to the growth mode, location and size of the tumor. It can involve multiple parts, such as the larynx, trachea, bronchus, and lung parenchyma, which cause coughing, hoarseness, dysphonia, and, in severe cases, may lead to obstruction of the respiratory tract. At present, the treatment of respiratory papilloma lacks standardization, and there is no effective method to cure the disease. Surgery remains the main treatment for alleviating patients' symptoms and preventing airway obstruction. However, due to the high recurrence rate of respiratory papilloma, multiple surgeries are often needed, which reduces the quality of life of patients and increases their disease burden and economic burden. Bevacizumab, a vascular endothelial growth factor-binding antibody inhibitor, is a promising adjuvant treatment modality that shows good potential for reducing symptoms and the frequency of surgery. This article aimed to review the efficacy and safety of bevacizumab for the treatment of respiratory papilloma and discuss the differences and efficacy of the systemic application and intralesional injection of bevacizumab for the treatment of respiratory papilloma.

Objective: To analyze the hepatic tissue inflammatory activity and influencing factors in HBeAg-positive patients during normal alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and indeterminate phases so as to provide a basis for evaluating the disease condition. Methods: Patients with HBeAg-positive with normal ALT and HBV DNA levels below 2 × 10(7) IU/ml from January 2017 to December 2021 were selected as the study subjects. A histopathologic liver test was performed on these patients. Age, gender, time of HBV infection, liver function, HBsAg level, HBV DNA load, genotype, portal vein inner diameter, splenic vein inner diameter, splenic thickness, and others of the patients were collected. Significant influencing factors of inflammation were analyzed in patients using logistic regression analysis, and its effectiveness was evaluated using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves. Results: Of the 178 cases, there were 0 cases of inflammation in G0, 52 cases in G1, 101 cases in G2, 24 cases in G3, and one case in G4. 126 cases (70.8%) had inflammatory activity ≥ G2. Infection time ( Z =-7.138, P <0.001), γ-glutamyltransferase ( t  =-2.940, P =0.004), aspartate aminotransferase ( t  =-2.749, P =0.007), ALT ( t  =-2.153, P =0.033), HBV DNA level ( t  =-4.771, P =0.010) and portal vein inner diameter ( t  =-4.771, P <0.001) between the ≥G2 group and < G2 group were statistically significantly different. A logistic regression analysis showed that significant inflammation in liver tissue was independently correlated with infection time [odds ratio (OR)=1.437, 95% confidence interval ( CI ): 1.267-1.630; P <0.001)] and portal vein inner diameter ( OR =2.738, 95% CI : 1.641, 4.570; P <0.001). The area under the curve (AUROC), specificity, and sensitivity for infection time and portal vein inner diameter were 0.84, 0.71, 0.87, 0.72, 0.40, and 0.95, respectively. Conclusion: A considerable proportion of HBeAg-positive patients have inflammation grade ≥G2 during normal ALT and indeterminate phases, pointing to the need for antiviral therapy. Additionally, inflammatory activity has a close association with the time of infection and portal vein inner diameter.

Objective: To investigated the safety and efficacy of donor-derived CD19+ or sequential CD19+ CD22+ chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy in patients with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). Methods: The data of 22 patients with B-ALL who relapsed after allo-HSCT and who underwent donor-derived CAR-T therapy at the Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University and the 920th Hospital of Joint Logistics Support Force of the People's Liberation Army of China from September 2015 to December 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. The primary endpoint was overall survival (OS), and the secondary endpoints were event-free survival (EFS), complete remission (CR) rate, and Grade 3-4 adverse events. Results: A total of 81.82% ( n =18) of the 22 patients achieved minimal residual disease-negative CR after CAR-T infusion. The median follow-up time was 1037 (95% CI 546-1509) days, and the median OS and EFS were 287 (95% CI 132-441) days and 212 (95% CI 120-303) days, respectively. The 6-month OS and EFS rates were 67.90% (95% CI 48.30%-84.50%) and 58.70% (95% CI 37.92%-79.48%), respectively, and the 1-year OS and EFS rates were 41.10% (95% CI 19.15%-63.05%) and 34.30% (95% CI 13.92%-54.68%), respectively. Grade 1-2 cytokine release syndrome occurred in 36.36% ( n =8) of the patients, and grade 3-4 occurred in 13.64% of the patients ( n =3). Grade 2 and 4 graft-versus-host disease occurred in two patients. Conclusion: Donor-derived CAR-T therapy is safe and effective in patients with relapsed B-ALL after allo-HSCT.

Heart failure is a serious and end-stage status of various heart diseases, characterized by comparatively high rate of readmission and mortality, and has become an important public health issue. The risk of readmission and mortality following discharge of an index hospitalization are key indicators to evaluate the quality of medical care among patients with acute heart failure. Therefore, it is important to carry out risk prediction research for patients with acute heart failure, quantify the disease risk, perform risk stratification, optimize clinical decision-making, elevate patients' quality of life and prognosis, and comprehensively improve the medical quality of acute heart failure. During the past 20 years, foreign researchers have developed dozens of models to predict the risk of acute heart failure readmission and mortality, and Chinese researchers have also developed up to 10 models applicable to the Chinese population. However, there is no recommended risk prediction model for acute heart failure in current clinical guidelines across China. In this report, we aim to introduce the major models for predicting the risk of acute heart failure readmission and mortality from home and abroad, focus on putting forward limitations of established models, and initiating potential directions for future studies from the following aspects: integrate multi-source data, mine emerging biomarkers, establish polygenic risk scores, optimize machine learning methods, promote flexible adjustment, and broaden approaches that applicable for various scenarios. Accordingly, this study will help facilitate domestic research in predicting the risk of readmission and mortality among patients hospitalized for acute heart failure.

Objective: KRAS gene is one of the most common mutations of proto-oncogenes in human tumors, G12V is one of the most common mutation types for KRAS . It's challenging to chemically acquire the targeted drug for this mutation. Recent studies reported that this mutation peptides can form a neoepitope for T cell recognition. Our study aims to clone the T cell receptor (TCR) which specifically recognizes the neoepitope for KRAS G12V mutation and constructs TCR engineered T cells (TCR-T), and to investigate if TCR-Ts have strong antitumor response ability., Methods: In this study, tumor infiltrating lymphocytes were obtained from one colorectal cancer patient carrying KRAS G12V mutation. Tumor-reactive TCR was obtained by single-cell RT-5' rapid-amplification of cDNA ends PCR analysis and introduced into peripheral blood lymphocytes to generate TCR-Ts., Results: We obtained a high-affinity TCR sequence that specifically recognized the HLA-A * 11:01-restricted KRAS G12V 8-16 epitope: KVA11-01. KVA11-01 TCR-T could significantly kill various tumor cells such as PANC-1, SW480 and HeLa (overexpressing HLA-A * 11:01 and KRAS G12V), and secreting high levels of interferon-γ (IFN-γ). Non-specific killing experiments suggested KVA11-01 specifically recognized tumor cells expressing both mutant KRAS G12V and HLA-A * 11:01. In vivo assay, tumor inhibition experiments demonstrated that infusion of approximately 1E7 KVA11-01 TCR-T could significantly inhibit the growth of subcuta-neously transplanted tumors of PANC-1 and HeLa (overexpressing HLA-A * 11:01 and KRAS G12V) cells in nude mice. No destruction of the morphologies of the liver, spleen and brain were observed. We also found that KVA11-01 TCR-T could significantly infiltrate into tumor tissue and had a better homing ability., Conclusion: KVA11-01 TCR-T cells can effectively target a variety of malignant tumor cells carrying KRAS G12V mutation through in vitro and in vivo assay. KVA11-01 TCR-T cells have excellent biological activity, high specificity of target antigen and homing ability into solid tumor tissue. KVA11-01 TCR-T is expected to be an effective treatment for patients with KRAS G12V mutant solid malignancies.

Objective: The auditory deficits of single-sided deafness (SSD) can be treated with a novel intra-oral device, SoundBite, which delivers sound by applying vibratory signal to the teeth. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and benefit of the bone conduction device for Chinese adults with SSD. Methods: Eighteen patients aged 19-66 yrs with acquired, permanent sensorineural SSD and no current treatment by any other devices for SSD, were recruited in a prospective controlled, nonrandomized, unblinded study. They were requested the continually daily wear of the new device over a 30-day free trial period. The intra-oral hearing device was placed around two maxillary teeth and was similar to a small partial denture or retainer. The audiological tests included pure tone air conduction thresholds, monosyllable word recognition score (WRS) in quiet and sentence reception thresholds in noise (via CMNmatrix test). The benefit was determined with the Abbreviated Profile of Hearing Aid Benefit (APHAB) and the Speech, Spatial and Qualities of Hearing Scale (SSQ) questionnaire. Results: The monosyllable WRS and the 50% threshold of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR 50 ) were significantly better in all aided conditions. The head shadow effect, assessed by the SNR 50 via CMNmatrix test improved an average of 2.6 dB after 30 days' wearing compared with unaided condition ( P <0.001). The APHAB scores improved ( P <0.05) for all subjects for the Global and Ease of Communication, Reverberation, Background Noise subscales. The SSQ scores improved ( P <0.05) for all subjects for Speech, Spatial and Qualities of Hearing subscales. Conclusion: The SoundBite is a good alternative to the well-established implantable bone conduction devices in patients with SSD. An improvement in listening ability in noise and quiet as well as a decrease of the head shadow effect is validated as the expected.

Objective: To propose a method of cervical cytology screening based on deep convolutional neural network and compare it with the diagnosis of cytologists. Method: The deep segmentation network was used to extract 618 333 regions of interest (ROI) from 5, 516 cytological pathological images. Combined with the experience of physicians, the deep classification network with the ability to analyze ROI was trained. The classification results were used to construct features, and the decision model was used to complete the classification of cytopathological images. Results: The sensitivity and specificity were 89.72%, 58.48%, 33.95% and 95.94% respectively. Among the smears derived from four different preparation methods, this algorithm had the best effect on natural fallout with a sensitivity of 91.10%, specificity of 69.32%, positive predictive rate of 41.41%, and negative predictive rate of 97.03%. Conclusion: Deep convolutional neural network image recognition technology can be applied to cervical cytology screening.

Objective: To study the differences between clinically amyopathic dermatomyositis (CADM) and typical dermatomyositis (DM) on clinical and immunological features., Methods: By collecting clinical data of 106 CADM patients and 158 DM patients from January 2010 to June 2019 in the department of Rheumatology and Immunology, Peking University People's Hospital, the clinical characteristics and immunological features in the two groups were compared, and the distribution characters and the clinical meanings of myositis autoantibodies were discussed in the two groups respectively. Myositis autoantibodies were measured by immunoblotting according to the manufacturers' instructions., Results: In the aspects of clinical manifestations, CADM presented more with onset of interstial lung diseases (ILD) compared with DM (20.7% vs . 7.6%, P =0.002), and CADM-ILD was more likely to be acute ILD (58.3% vs . 26%, P < 0.001), and there were no differences between CADM and DM in cutaneous manifestations, accompanied with connective tissue disease (CTD) and malignancy. In CADM, the positive rate of rheumatoid factors and antinuclear antibodies was lower in DM. The most common myositis specific autoantibodies (MSAs) in CADM were anti-MDA5 (36%), anti-PL-7 (11.2%) and anti-TIF-1γ (10.1%). The most common MSAs in DM were anti-Jo-1 (19.2%), anti-TIF-1γ (11.5%) and anti-MDA5 (11.5%). Anti-MDA5 was correlated with acute ILD and skin ulceration both in CADM and DM; in CADM, skin ulceration was not associated with the titer of anti-MDA5; while in DM, skin ulceration was associated with high titer of anti-MDA5. In DM, anti-TIF-1γ was correlated with heliotrope eruption, V/shawl neck sign, perionychia erythma and malignancy, and higher rate of malignancy was seen in all titers of the anti-TIF-1γ positive patients. In CADM, anti-TIF1-γ showed no correlation with clinical manifestations. The most common myositis associated autoantibody was anti-Ro-52 both in CADM and DM. In CADM, anti-Ro-52 was associated with Raynaud's phenomenon and chronic ILD, while in DM, anti-Ro-52 was associated with mechanic's hands, noninfectious fever and accompanied CTD., Conclusion: Compared with DM, ILD is more likely to be acute in CADM. It is different between CADM and DM about the distribution of myositis autoantibodies and the clinical significance of the same myositis antibody, and the clinical significance of some myositis antibodies is related to titers.

Objective: During the COVID-19 pandemic, the electronic "questionnaire star" was employed to investigate the general situation, medication situation and pandemic impact of children diagnosed with asthma in our hospital and enrolled in the electronic platform of the Chinese Children's Asthma Action Plan (CCAAP). The internet technology and big data were used to grasp the trend and asthma control of children who had been at home for a long time due to the pandemic, so as to facilitate the management. Methods: By random cluster sampling survey method, according to the needs and medication adherence score, the electronic "questionnaire star" was designed to conduct a survey among children (0 to 14 years old) who diagnosed with asthma and joined the CCAAP on the basis of bronchial asthma medication adherence scale. Finally, the results of electronic questionnaire survey were analyzed. Results: A total of 423 questionnaires were sent out, 422 of which were valid, with an effective response rate of 99.7%. The results of questionnaire survey showed that 296 cases were male, accounting for 70.1%, and 126 cases were female, accounting for 29.9%, with an average age of (5.4±2.6) years old. The average age of males and females was (5.3±2.6) and (5.4±2.6) years old, respectively. There were more children aged ≥5 years than children who were younger than 5 years. Additionally, 13.95% of the parents thought that the pandemic had more than moderate impact on children with asthma, and 76.12% of the children were in the green zone and had no asthma attack. The proportion of green zone inhaled drugs (79.8%) was higher than yellow zone and red zone (49.8%). After using the CCAAP platform, the dissatisfaction rate was only 1.42%. Moreover, 71.87% of the children's medical expenses decreased, and the proportion of frequent use and intermittent use of antibiotics reduced, however, the proportion of occasional use and never use of antibiotics increased significantly (all P <0.05). The average score of drug compliance was 4.56, and the more frequently the platform was used, the higher the score of medication compliance was ( P <0.05). Conclusions: After using CCAAP management with the aid of internet technology, children with asthma who had been isolated at home for a long time were less affected by COVID-19, with high medication compliance, generally lower medical expenses, significantly reduced use of antibiotics, and high satisfaction. This management mode provides a new idea for internet medicine.

Objective: To investigate the application value of molecular detection in the differential diagnosis of ovarian adult granulosa cell tumors (AGCT) by analyzing FOXL2, AKT1 and DICER1 mutations in these tumors. Methods: A total of 48 cases of ovarian sex cord-stromal tumor (SCST) were selected from July 2012 to June 2019 in Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, including 21 adult granulosa cell tumors (AGCT), 15 fibromas/fibrothecomas, 8 Sertoli-Leydig cell tumors (SLCT) and 4 other types of ovarian SCST. Genomic DNA was extracted from the formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections. Polymerase chain reaction amplification for FOXL2, AKT1 and DICER1 genes was performed, followed by sequencing using capillary electrophoresis. Fisher exact test was used to compare the prevalence difference of FOXL2, AKT1 and DICER1 mutations among the groups. P< 0.05 was considered significant. Results: Eighteen of the 21 (85.7%) AGCT harbored FOXL2 mutation. Compared with other SCST (13.0%, 3 of 23; including fibromas/fibrothecomas and SLCT), FOXL2 mutation was significantly higher in AGCT ( P< 0.001). In addition, FOXL2 mutation was also detected in one fibrothecoma, two SLCT and two gynandroblastomas. DICER1 mutation was identified in four of eight SLCT, and these cases were moderately to poorly differentiated. FOXL2 mutation was found in one SLCT with DICER1 mutation. There was no DICER1 mutation in other ovarian SCST. No AKT1 mutation was detected in all the patients. Conclusions: FOXL2 mutation is a highly specific biomarker for adult AGCT and may be helpful to resolve problematic cases. Diagnosis should also be taken into consideration of the clinical and histological features as FOXL2 mutation is also found in other SCST. The detection of DICER1 mutation is helpful for the differential diagnosis of ovarian SLCT. Synchronous DICER1 and FOXL2 mutation in the SLCT has been observed, and its significance needs to be further studied.

Objective: To obtain the prevalence laryngopharyngeal reflux disease (LPRD), anxiety and depression in otorhinolaryngology outpatients and to explore the role of mental and psychological factors (anxiety and depression) in their pathogenesis. Methods: A questionnaire survey of reflux symptom index(RSI) scale and hospital anxiety and depression (HAD) scale were used to report 1 111 cases of outpatients in Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Peking University People's Hospital, from July 2017 to June 2018 (486 males, 625 females, age of 18-96 years old, median age of 38[30,53] years old) and to obtain the prevalence of LPRD, anxiety and depression. RSI-positive patients were selected in the case group, and RSI-negative patients were selected in the control group. The differences in HAD scores between the two groups were compared, and the risk factors of laryngopharyngeal reflux were analyzed. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 20.0 software. Results: There were 151 cases in the case group and 960 cases in the control group. The prevalence of LPRD was 13.59% (151/1 111).There was no significant difference in the prevalence of LPRD between different genders ( P> 0.05). The prevalence rate was the highest in the 18-40 age group, and the difference in the prevalence of all age groups (18~ 40 years old; 41-65 years old; >65 years old) was statistically significant ( P< 0.05). The prevalence of LPRD among smokers and non-drinkers was higher than that of non-smokers and non-drinkers and the prevalence of the two groups was statistically significant ( P< 0.05). The most common symptoms of the RSI scale were pharyngeal foreign body sensation (92.72%,140/151), persistent clearing throat (88.74%,124/151), excessive sputum or nasal reflux (82.12%, 124/151). There were significant statistical differences between the two groups ( P< 0.05). Ninty-one patients with anxiety, the prevalence was 8.19%(91/1 111); 76 patients with depression, the prevalence was 6.84%(76/1 111).Among the LPRD patients, the hospital anxiety scale scored 29.14% (44/151), and the hospital depression scale scored 17.22% (26/151). The scores of anxiety symptoms and depressive symptoms in the LPRD group were higher than those in the non-LPRD group. The above scores were statistically significant ( P< 0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that smoking, anxiety and symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease were independent risk factors for laryngopharyngeal reflux. Conclusions: The prevalences of LPRD, anxiety and depression in the otorhinolaryngology clinic are 13.59%, 8.19% and 6.84%, respectively. Among patients with laryngopharyngeal reflux, the prevalence of anxiety is 29.14%, and the prevalence of depression is 17.22%. Age, smoking, drinking, alcohol consumption, education level, course of disease, symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease, pharyngeal foreign body sensation, etc. are related to LPRD. Mental factors (anxiety and depression) may play a role in LPRD. Smoking, anxiety symptoms and symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease are closely related to the incidence of LPRD.

Objective: To investigate the prevalence and related risk factors of laryngopharyngeal reflux in otolaryngology. Method: During January 2019 to March 2019, the inpatients in otolaryngology were investigated by the questionnaire of reflux symptom index scale and the laryngopharyngeal reflux related risk factors were analyzed. Result: Among the 227 patients, 33 patients with suspected LPR contained 19 patients（20.7%） of 92 patients in the laryngopharyngeal group, 10 patients（16.1%） of 62 patients in the nasal group, and 4 patients（5.5%） of 73 patients in the ear group. LPR prevalence in the laryngopharyngeal group was statistically different from that in the ear group（ P <0.05）. Univariate logistic regression analysis showed that age, gender, smoking, drinking and BMI were risk factors of LPR（ P <0.01）. Multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that BMI was an independent risk factor of LPR（ P <0.01）. Objective: To establish a New Zealand rabbit animal model of laryngopharyngeal reflux disease (LPRD) using esophageal balloon together with metal internal stent dilation and to investigate the changes of mucosa. Methods: 20 New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, with 10 in each group. Balloon dilatation and metal internal stent dilation were carried out in experimental group to reproduce the animal model of LPRD.The middle of balloon was placed at the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) while the stent was placed at the upper esophageal sphincter (UES). The guide wire was placed in the control group, but the balloon was not expanded and the stent was not placed. The general condition, pH value of hypopharynx, laryngeal histopathology and changes of pepsin content of New Zealand rabbits were observed regularly. The difference between experimental group and control group was compared. Results: The 24-hour Dx-pH monitoring results showed that the number of reflux episodes(20.0[9.5, 35.0], 13.0[6.5, 22.0]), and the percent time below pH 5.5 (1.36%[0.60%, 4.57%], 1.36%[0.43%, 2.77%]) in the experimental group at the 2nd and 4th week were significantly different from those in the control group (0[0,3.0], 1.0[0.5, 3.8]; 0[0, 0.01%], 0[0, 0], respectively, all P <0.01), suggesting that the experimental group New Zealand rabbits developed LPRD. Compared with the control group under microscope, lymphocytes infiltration and submucosal gland hyperplasia increased in the mucosa of the throat of the experimental group. The results of pepsin immunohistochemical staining between the two groups were statistically significant ( P= 0.014). Conclusion: The use of balloon dilatation of the LES combined with metal stent dilatation of the UES can successfully establish a laryngopharyngeal reflux model, and lesions in the throat tissue can be observed.

Objective: To understand the occupational hazard and distribution of silica dust (free SiO(2)≥10%) in the workplace environment of the enterprises in Fengxian District, and to provide scientific basis for improving the working environment and protecting the physical and mental health of the workers. Methods: Individual sampling monitoring and on-site labor hygiene investigation were conducted on 421 workers involved in 87 silicon dust enterprises in the jurisdiction from 2014 to 2018, and measured concentration-time weighted average ( C (TWA)) . Results: The results showed that the range of the C (TWA) was (0.021~17.000) mg/m(3), the median was 1.600 mg/m(3), and the qualified rate of 30.88%. The difference of total dust concentration was statistically significant in different years ( Z =38.831, P <0.05) . The qualified rate of small-scale enterprises is higher than that of medium-scale enterprises (χ(2)=9.472, P <0.05) . The qualified rate of other domestic enterprises is higher than that of private enterprises and foreign enterprises (χ(2)=10.089, P <0.05) . The acceptance rate of metal products manufacturing is lower than that of general equipment manufacturing and other manufacturing enterprises (χ(2)=64.626, P <0.05) . The qualification rate of natural ventilation is higher than that of mechanical ventilation (χ(2)=6.278, P <0.05) . Conclusion: The enterprises involved in silicon production in Fengxian District need to further strengthen the production process reform and improve the ventilation and dust removal protection measures. Widely carry out the publicity of occupational disease prevention and control law, conduct targeted pre-job training, improve workers' awareness of self-protection, and protect the occupational health of workers in many ways.

Objective: To investigate the clinicopathological characteristics and diagnosis of ovarian Brenner tumors. Methods: Forty-seven cases of ovarian Brenner tumors were enrolled from January 2012 to May 2018 at Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, Capital Medical University. Clinical data, imaging examination, histopathological characteristics and immunohistochemical phenotype were analyzed. Results: The age of the patients ranged from 30-73 years and the mean age was 55 years. Thirty-nine patients (83.0%) were postmenopausal. Forty cases (85.1%) of the Brenner tumors were benign, five (10.6%) borderline and two (4.3%) malignant. Usual tumor markers of ovarian carcinoma, including CA199 and CA125 were normal or mild elevated in the 47 cases. Imaging before surgery was not specific to Brenner tumors. Microscopically, benign Brenner tumors were composed of nests of bland, transitional-type cells within a fibromatous stroma. In our 5 cases of borderline Brenner tumors, mildly atypical transitional-type cells were projected into the cyst lumens and lack of stromal invasion. In 2 cases of malignant Brenner tumors, different degrees of nuclear atypial transitional-type cells exhibited stromal invasion. Immunohistochemical stains for CK7, GATA3, p63 and CK5/6 were positive in all cases. Ki-67 was less than 5% in Brenner tumors, and up to 20%-30% in malignant Brenner tumors. Conclusion: Brenner tumors are mostly seen in postmenopausal patients and are usually benign. Imaging examination and usual ovarian tumor markers do not provide diagnostic value. Diagnosis and classification of Brenner tumors depend on histopathological evaluation.

Objective: Epstein-Barr virus associated gastric cancer (EBVaGC) is different from the traditional gastric cancer (Epstein-Barr virus non-associated gastric cancer, EBVnGC), and has unique clinicopathological features. This study investigated the largest single center cancer series so as to establish the clinicopathological and molecular characteristics of EBVaGC in China., Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on EBVaGC and EBVnGC patients diagnosed at Peking University Cancer Hospital from 2003 to 2018 by comparing their clinicopathological features and prognosis. The gastric cancer (GC) dataset of public database was analyzed to obtain differentially expressed genes. The expression of important genes and their association with prognosis of GC were verified in GC tissues from our hospital., Results: In this study, 3 241 GC patients were included, and a total of 163 EBVaGC (5.0%) patients were identified. Compared with EBVnGC, EBVaGC was higher in male and younger patients, and positively associated with remnant GC, poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma, and mixed type GC. EBVaGC was inversely related to lymph node metastasis. The 5-year survival rate of EBVnGC and EBVaGC was 59.6% and 63.2% respectively (P<0.05). In order to explore molecular features of EBVaGC, the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) dataset was analyzed (n=240), and 7 404 significant differentially expressed genes were obtained, involving cell proliferation, apoptosis, invasion and metastasis. The down-regulated invasion/metastasis gene SALL4 and the up-regulated immune checkpoint gene PD-L1 were important molecular features of EBVaGC. Validation of these two genes in large GC series showed that the majority of the EBVaGC was SALL4 negative (1/92, 1.1%, lower than EBVnGC, 303/1 727, 17.5%), and that PD-L1 was mostly positive in EBVaGC (81/110, 73.6%, higher than EBVnGC, 649/2 350, 27.6%). GC patients with SALL4 negative and PD-L1 positive were often associated with better prognosis., Conclusion: EBVaGC is a unique subtype of GC with less metastasis and a good prognosis. It also has a distinct molecular background. The down-regulation of invasion/metastasis gene SALL4 and up-regulation of immune checkpoint gene PD-L1 are important molecular features.

Objective: To explore the role of microRNA-203 in laryngeal cancer and its underlying mechanism and clarify the relationship between microRNA-203 and LASP1. Method: microRNA-203 expression in laryngeal cancer tissues and paracancerous tissues was detected by quantitative real time-polymerase chain reaction（qRT-PCR）. The regulatory effects of microRNA-203 on invasion and apoptosis of laryngeal cancer cells were detected by Transwell assay and flow cytometry, respectively. Dual-luciferase reporter gene assay was performed to access the binding condition of microRNA-203 and LASP1. Both mRNA and protein levels of LASP1 in laryngeal cancer cells were detected after transfection with microRNA-203 mimic or microRNA-203 inhibitor by qRT-PCR and Western blot. Rescue experiments were finally performed to detect whether microRNA-203 regulates laryngeal cancer development via targeting LASP1. Result: microRNA-203 was lowly expressed in laryngeal cancer tissues and cell lines.Knockdown of microRNA-203 in Hep-2 cells can promote the invasiveness and inhibit apoptosis of laryngeal cancer cells. Subsequently,LASP1 was predicted to be the target gene of microRNA-203，which was further verified by dual-luciferase reporter gene assay.LASP1 expression was negatively regulated by microRNA-203. Furthermore，rescue experiments showed that microRNA-203 regulates invasion and apoptosis of laryngeal cancer cells via targeting LASP1. Objective: To characterize the postoperative change of eyes related parameters of patients with infantile nystagmus syndrome(INS), so as to provide a reference for the clinical evaluation of postoperative effect and the rational arrangement of patients' follow-up time after operation. Methods: A retrospective study. Clinical and follow-up data of 17 patients diagnosed with INS at Department of Ophthalmology in Xinhua Hospital, School of Medicine, Shanghai Jiaotong University from June 2014 to December 2016 were collected. All patients with abnormal head posture (AHP) underwent null zone shift surgery. The operative methods were Parks 5-6-7-8, Anderson, Kestenbum 5-5-6-4,null zone shift combined with strabismus correction and vertical null zone transposition. Ophthalmological examination and eye movement were recorded, including best corrected binocular visual acuity (BCBVA), position of the null zone, expanded nystagmus acuity function (NAFX) and foveation time. Single factor repeated analysis of variance, independent sample t test and rank sum test were used for statistical analysis. Results: Among the 17 children, 6 were females and 11 were males. The age at surgery of the patients was 5-11 years.The follow-up time was (14.8±6.0) months. Preoperative BCBVA was 0.382±0.147 (corrected posture), 0.300±0.056 (AHP); foveation time was (0.594±0.011)s;position of null zone was 23.570°±0.118°. The BCBVA at three months after operation was 0.318±0.044 (corrected posture), 0.260±0.045 (AHP); foveation time was (0.950±0.146)s; position of null zone was 5.360°±1.107°. The BCBVA at six months after operation was 0.264±0.039 (corrected posture), 0.230±0.037 (AHP);foveation time was (1.496±0.233) s; position of null zone was 6.070°±1.303°. The BCBVA at twelve months after operation was 0.309±0.039 (corrected posture), 0.250±0.045 (AHP);foveation time was (1.455±0.201) s; position of null zone was 9.290°±8.520°. There was statistical difference between the data of pre-operation and post-operation(all P< 0.05). Change of null zone position was identified in six patients after six months.The preoperative NAFX of patients with presence of change of null zone positon was 0.308±0.063 (the primary position), 0.393±0.210 (null zone); BCBVA was 0.450±0.043 (corrected posture), 0.417±0.031 (AHP); foveation time was 0.122 (0.080-1.014)s. The postoperative NAFX of those patients was 0.430±0.090(the primary position), 0.471±0.140 (null zone); foveation time was 0.438(0.170-1.450) s. The data above were lower than that of patients with no regression of null zone[0.523±0.142,0.601±0.110,0.200±0.063,0.250±0.076,0.725(0.230-1.440)s,0.610±0.160,0.680±0.120,0.975(0.380-2.000)s]. The difference was statistically significant(all P< 0.05). Conclusions: Null zone shifting surgery is an effective approach for treating INS. Reduction in the null zone position can be observed in some patients at 6 months after operation, which was related to NAFX, BCBVA and foveation time. It is recommended to extend the follow-up time to at least 6 months after the operation. (Chin J Ophthalmol, 2019, 55:13-19) .

Objective: To investigate the pathological escalation after cervical cone resection in postmenopausal women, and analyze the related influencing factors. Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted at the Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, School of Medicine, Zhejiang University between July 2013 and January 2015. Seven hundred and fifty cases of cervical cone-cut were enrolled in this study, 129 cases of them were postmenopausal women, and 621 were premenopausal women. All results of patients' liquid-based thin-layer cytology (TCT) , HPV test, colposcopy and biopsy pathology, cervical cone resection and postoperative pathological examination were collected. Then the compliance with the pathological examination results after colposcopic cervical biopsy and cervical cone resection, and the related factors affecting the pathological escalation after cervical cone resection were analyzed. The pathological escalation of patients with different menopausal conditions after cervical cone resection was also analyzed. Results: (1) Of the 750 patients, there were 329 patients had the same pathological examination results after colposcopic cervical biopsy and cervical cone resection, which accounted for 43.9% (329/750) . And 216 cases demonstrated pathological escalation after cervical cone resection, which accounted for 28.8% (216/750) . The results of TCT examination and menopause were significantly correlated with the pathological escalation after cervical cone resection ( P <0.05) . However, the condition of HPV infection was unrelated to pathological escalation after cervical cone resection ( P >0.05) . (2) Compared with the different results of TCT examination [including non-intrusive load monitoring (NILM) , atypical squamous cell of undetermined signification (ASCUS) , low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (LSIL) , high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL) ], the ratio of pathological escalation after cervical cone resection was not statistically significant difference between postmenopausal and non-menopausal patients ( P >0.05) . The proportion of pathological escalation of patients with >5 years of menopause was significantly higher than that of patients with menopause time ≤5 years (40.3% vs 27.7%, OR =1.8, 95% CI : 1.1-2.8, P =0.029) . Among them, when the result of TCT examination was LSIL, the rate of pathological escalation in patients > 5 years of menopause was significantly higher than that in menopause time ≤5 years (6/10 vs 26.3%, OR =4.2, 95% CI : 1.1-15.8, P =0.033) . While the results of TCT examination were NILM, ASCUS or HSIL showed there was no statistically significant difference between two groups ( P >0.05) . (3) Among the 143 cases, of which the result of TCT examination was LSIL, 9 cases of the pathological examination results after cervical resection were escalated to cervical cancer, which accounted for 6.3% (9/143) . Among 10 cases of menopause time >5 years, 2 cases (2/10) of the pathological examination results after cervical cone resection were escalated to cervical cancer. Among 133 cases with menopause time ≤ 5 years, 7 cases (5.3%) were upgraded to cervical cancer after cervical cone resection. The ratio of pathological escalation to cancer in postmenopausal patients with >5 years was higher than that of menopause time ≤5 years. Due to the data volume limitation, the comparison was not statistically significant difference (χ 2 =0.460, P >0.05) . Conclusions: In postmenopausal women, especially when menopausal time is > 5 years, the proportion of pathological escalation after cervical cone resection following colposcopic cervical biopsy is increased. And the pathological escalation after cervical cone resection is significantly correlated with the results of TCT examination and menopausal status. Therefore, doctors should treat the colposcopic biopsy pathological results with caution during clinic. Depending on TCT results, loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) sampling could be administrated directly in case of avoid missing diagnosis.

Objective: To investigate the frequency of KRAS mutation in mucinous epithelial lesions of the endometrium, and analyze the correlation between KRAS mutation and the clinicopathologic features. Methods: The cohort included forty-three cases of mucinous epithelial lesions of the endometrium selected from July 2015 to October 2017 from Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, and 22 control cases. Genomic DNA was extracted from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections. Polymerase chain reaction amplification for KRAS exons 2 and 3 was performed, followed by sequencing using capillary electrophoresis. The Fisher exact test was used to compare the prevalence of KRAS mutation among the different groups. Results: The patients'age ranged from 33 to 77 years [mean (55.12±9.34) years, median 55 years]. None of the eight cases of endometrial hyperplasia with mucinous differentiation without atypia showed KRAS mutation. The frequency of KRAS mutations was 1/10 in endometrial atypical hyperplasia, 1/12 in endometrioid carcinoma, 4/11 in endometrial atypical hyperplasia with mucinous differentiation (EAHMD), 6/15 in endometrioid carcinoma with mucinous differentiation (ECMD) and 8/9 in mucinous carcinoma (MC), respectively. The differences were statistically significant between MC versus EC ( P <0.01) and MC versus ECMD ( P <0.05). Conclusion: The high frequency of KRAS mutation in EAHMD, ECMD and MC indicates that KRAS mutational activation is implicated in the pathogenesis of endometrial mucinous carcinoma.

Objective: To investigate the pathogenic factors of vocal leukoplakia and its clinical and pathological features. Methods: Eighty-one patients with vocal cord leukoplakia who underwent surgery between February 2010 and December 2016 and 160 volunteers without pharyngeal symptoms designed as controls were included in this case control study. The clinicopathological characteristics of 81 patients were summarized and analyzed synthetically. Results: There was statistical significance in reflux symptom index(RSI), reflux finding score(RFS), smoking index, and drinking index between case group and control group( Z =-5.35, -4.82, -4.76, -2.44, P <0.05). The voice-using duration per day in case group was significantly longer than that of control group.There was no statistical significance in hospital anxiety and depression scale for anxiety(HADA) scores、hospital anxiety and depression scale for depression(HADD) scores between case group and control group( P >0.05). In 42 patients who received 24-hour dual probe pH monitoring the prevalence of pathologic LPR was 42.8%. In 81 patients, 39(48%)patients were pathologically diagnosed as squamous cell hyperplasia, 18(22%)patients as mild dysplasia, 12(15%)sides as moderate dysplasia , 10(12%)patients as severe dysplasia and 2(2%)patients as carcinoma in - situ . The average age of high-risk pathological vocal leukoplakia was significantly higher than that of low-risk leukoplakia( t =-2.73, P <0.01). The propotion of speckled leukoplakia in high-risk leukoplakia was significantly higher than that of low-risk leukoplakia(χ(2)=23.81, P <0.01). There was no statistical significance between high-risk leukoplakia and low-risk leukoplakia in the prevalence of pathologic LPR( P >0.05). The bilateral lesions, speckled leukoplakia were more likely to relapse(χ(2)=4.27, 12.17, P <0.05). The more serious the pathology, the more likely it was to relapse ( Z =-2.168, P =0.03). There was no statistical significance between recurrence group and non-recurrence group in the prevalence of pathologic LPR( P >0.05). Conclusions: LPR, smoke constitute the risk factors of vocal cord leukoplakia. Drinking, voice abuse are related to vocal cord leukoplakia. Senile, speckled leukoplakia are more likely to be malignancy. A speckled leukoplakia, bilateral leukoplakia, severe pathological degree are important factors to predict recurrence.

Objective: To investigate the association between miR-146a single nucleotide polymorphism and genetic susceptibility to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods: PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Wanfang Data, and Google Scholar were searched for case-control studies on the association between miR-146a single nucleotide polymorphism and genetic susceptibility to HCC published up to October, 2016 in Chinese or English. The Q-statistics test was used to evaluate the heterogeneity of these articles. Results: A total of 18 articles with 5 610 cases and 7 531 controls were included for the meta-analysis. There was no significant association between miR-146a single nucleotide polymorphism and genetic susceptibility to HCC. The odds ratio ( OR ), 95% confidence interval (95% CI ), and P values for the five genetic models were as follows: the allele model C/G ( OR = 0.99, 95% CI 0.88-1.06, P = 0.440); the heterozygous model CG/GG ( OR = 0.99, 95% CI 0.90-1.10, P = 0.898); the homozygous model CC/GG ( OR = 0.91, 95% CI 0.75-1.10, P = 0.314); the dominant model CC+CG/GG ( OR = 0.97, 95% CI 0.79-1.19, P = 0.759); the recessive model CG+GG/CC ( OR = 1.05, 95% CI 0.94-1.18, P = 0.405). A subgroup analysis of race, source of control population, and Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium were performed in these five genetic models, and miR-146a single nucleotide polymorphism increased the susceptibility to HCC only in the control population-based subgroups of the recessive model CG+GG/CC ( OR = 1.20, 95% CI 1.02-1.40, P = 0.024). There was no association between miR-146a rs2910164 polymorphism and susceptibility to HCC in all the other subgroups. A stratified analysis of HBV infection revealed that miR-146a rs2910164 polymorphism increased the risk of HBV-positive HCC ( OR = 1.26, 95% CI 1.10-1.49, P = 0.001). Conclusion: There is no significant association between miR-146a rs2910164 polymorphism and the risk of HCC, but miR-146a rs2910164 polymorphism may increase the risk of HBV-positive HCC.

Objective: To investigate the effect of silica dust on protein oxidative injury in the lung tissue of mice. Methods: A total of 60 mice were randomly divided into control group (not exposed to dust) , 2-hour group (inhalation of dust for 2 hours per day) , 4-hour group (inhalation of dust for 4 hours per day) , and 8-hour group (inhalation of dust for 8 hours per day) , with 15 mice in each group. During dust exposure, the mice were placed in a dust exposure cabinet; the dust was blown with an air blower and the concentration was maintained at 125 mg/m(3). All mice were exposed to silica dust for 3 weeks. The changes of the lung were observed after dust exposure ended, and spectrophotometry was performed to measure the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and the content of malondialdehyde (MDA) and protein carbonyl in the lung tissue. Results: The 2-, 4-, and 8-hour groups had marked edema, sporadic punctate hemorrhage, and nodular shadow in the lungs. Compared with the control group, the 2-, 4-, and 8-hour groups had a significant increase in lung coefficient (7.03±0.78 mg/g, 8.48±0.93 mg/g, and 8.99±0.85 mg/g vs 5.52±0.81 mg/g, P <0.05) . Compared with the control group, the 2-, 4-, and 8-hour groups had significant increases in the content of MDA (2.83±0.52, 3.94±0.65, and 4.56±0.77 nmol/mg prot vs 1.26±0.36 nmol/mg prot, P <0.05) and protein carbonyl (1.61±0.44, 1.96±0.47, and 2.20±0.58 nmol/mg prot vs 1.13±0.21 nmol/mg prot, P <0.05) in lung tissue. The 4- and 8-hour groups had a significantly lower activity of SOD than the control group (153.69±20.58 and 140.35±18.97 U/mg prot vs 186.00±25.46 U/mg prot, P <0.05) . Conclusions: Silica dust may lead to protein oxidative injury in the lung tissue of mice, which might play an important role in lung injury.

Objective: To investigate potential value of fibrin related markers in patients with femoral fracture during perioperative period. Methods: Ninety-five patients were enrolled, including 39 males with (53±24) years old and 56 females with (73±13) years old, of which 44 fracture on caput femoris, 34 collum femoris and 17 shaft of femur. Sampling on the day before operation and 1(st,) 3(rd,) 5(th) days after operation, fibrin monomer (FM), D-dimer(DD), fibrinogen degradation product (FDP) and other coagulation assays were detected by reagents from Stago. Difference in day-to-day and between surgical sites were analyzed with general linear model (repeated measures). Results: FDP level on pre-operation, 1(st,) 3(rd,) 5(th) day after operation were 7.88(5.19, 12.12), 15.68(9.84, 29.48), 8.44 (6.27, 12.49) and 10.28 (7.56, 14.00) mg/L, the value of fibrin monomer were 5.00 (5.00, 6.03), 9.89(5.04, 30.12), 5.00 (5.00, 6.04) and 5.02(5.00, 5.76) mg/L. The value of D-Dimer were 2.24(1.41, 3.60), 4.78(2.74, 9.18), 2.60(1.79, 3.88) and 2.91(2.20, 3.85) mg/L, respectively, each parameter changs statistically during observation ( Z =4.758, 6.027, 3.238 respectively, P <0.05). On the 5th day after surgery, fibrin monomer in patients with venous thrombus embolism (VTE) were higher than that in patients without VTE, 10.18(7.24, 28.11) mg/L vs 5.10(5.00, 6.73) mg/L ( Z =-1.580, P <0.05), which showed potential value evaluating of post-operative VTE. No statistical changes were found in prothrombin time or thrombin time (TT) ( P >0.05), but activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) varied from day to day in (38.1±4.9), (40.8±5.2), (45.1±6.2) and (41.9±6.3)s with statistically difference ( F =7.127, P <0.05). Similarly, fibrinogen changed statistically in (5.01±0.94), (4.99±1.35), (6.00±1.75), (5.81±1.38)g/L ( F =8.927, P <0.05). Conclusion: Fibrin monomer, additional to markers as D-dimer, shows its value on activated coagulation associated to post-operative thromboembolism for patients receiving femoral surgery.

Objective: To establish an animal model of pulmonary metastasis from nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and to investigate differential genes associated with pulmonary metastasis. Methods: CNE cell line was used to construct the stable metastasis CNE/Luc cell line which steadily expresses the fluorescent enzyme genes. The CNE/Luc cells were injected into immunodeficiency mice through tail vein, and with the in vivo imaging technology, the mice with pulmonary metastasis were filtered out. The pulmonary metastasis cells, were separated and injected into the tail vein of other nude mice to obtain the tissue-specificity metastasis cells confirmed by fluorescent imaging system. Based on the gene chip, the differential genes associated with pulmonary metastasis for NPC were found. Results: The gene expression profiles of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell line CNE/Luc and their lung metastasis-associated subpopulation CNE/Luc-2 were constructed by gene chip technology. Ten metastasis-related genes were screened by software analysis, namely as TP 53, PIK 3 CA, MET, KRAS, VEGFA, EDNRB, GSK 3 B, FOXO 3, SOD 2, and BIRC 3. Conclusions: Some genes including TP 53, PIK 3 CA, MET, KRAS, VEGFA, EDNRB, GSK 3 B, FOXO 3, SOD 2, and BIRC 3 are indicated to have important roles in the lung metastasis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

Objective: To establish a reliable approach for measuring proximal femoral 3 dimensional anatomy, and to compare post-operative differences of proximal femoralanatomy in the inter-trochanter fractures with two kinds of antegrade nailings., Methods: Some computer assisted design (CAD) softwares, e.g. Mimics, were used to establish a reliable approach for measuring proximal femoral 3 dimensional (3D) anatomy. Intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) was used to test the reliability of intra- and inter-observers. The post-operative pelvic CT data of 19 cases of inter-trochanter fracture patients treated with InterTAN nailing and 21 cases of inter-trochanter fracture patients treated with proximal femoral nail anti-rotation (PFNA) were retrospectively analysed and used to measure bilateral proximal femoral anatomical parameters, including 2D and 3D femoral neck-shaft (NS) angle and femoral neck anteversion (NA) angle, and 2D and 3D anteversion angles of the intramedullary (IM) nailings. ICC was used to test the consistency of the NA angles in the different groups, and the paired student T-test was used to test the differences of the paired quantitative data., Results: The established measurement method hasdexcellent consistency within the intra- and inter-observers, with all the ICCs higher than 0.9. The paired student T-test showed no significant difference between the post-operative bilateral 2D or 3D NA angles. The ICCs results showed that there were no consistency between the post-operative bilateral 2D or 3D NA angles (P values were 0.099 and 0.055, respectively), but the excellent consistency between the 2D injured side NA angle and 2D IM nailing's NA angle, or between the 3D injured side NA angle and 3D IM nailing's NA angle (the ICCs were 0.81 and 0.8, respectively, P values < 0.001). In PFNA group, 57% of the differences between the 2D post-operative injured side's and intact side's NA angles were higher than 15°, which was more than 15.78% in InterTAN group. The paired student T-test showed no significant difference between the post-operative injured side's 2D or 3D NS angles and the intact side's respective 2D or 3D angles in PFNA group (P values were 0.925 and 0.367, respectively), but in InterTAN group, the post-operative injured side's 2D or 3D NS angles were significantly smaller than the intact side's respective angles (P values were 0.033 and 0.009, respectively)., Conclusion: By analyzing and comparing bilateral proximal femoral anatomical parameters after two kinds of IM nailings procedures, the differences between the bilateral post-operative NA angles in PFNA group were significantly larger than those in InterTAN group. There was significant correlation between the NA angles of the injured sides and NA angles of IM nailings in both the groups.

To build artificial bone with osteoblast and growth factors is one of popular studies on current bone tissue engineering. This paper has reviewed current studies on the function of the growth factors and the resource, isolation and culture of the osteoblast. It also introduces the interaction of the growth factors, and the development in the transgenosis of the relative growth factors.

Objective: To study the inhibitory effect of Kangxian Recipe (KXR) on TGF-beta 1 induced hepatocyte apoptosis., Methods: The in vitro model of hepatocyte apoptosis was established by cell biologic methods, utilizing the characteristics of TGF-beta 1 to observe the inhibitory effect of KXR on hepatocyte apoptosis., Results: TGF-beta 1 induced apoptosis of hepatocyte in a dose-dependent manner. The apoptosis rate of 2.2.15 cells was 63% when 500 ng/L TGF-beta 1 was used, while for HepG2 cell, it was merely 44%. After treatment of 20 ng/L KXR, the apoptosis rate of the two kinds of cell lines lowered to 33% and 24% respectively. The inhibition rate of both groups was about 50%., Conclusion: KXR had strong inhibitory effect on hepatocyte apoptosis induced by TGF-beta 1.

By Agrobacterium-mediated method, the cotyledonary petiole of good quality rape variety H165 was transformed with plant expression vector pBLGC which constitutively express beta-1,3-glucanase and chitinase genes. We obtained some Kanamycin(Kan)-resistant regenerational green shoots, with these shoots, PCR identification was conducted. Results showed that 30% green shoots which grew in medium of Kan 15 mg/L and 53% green shoots in Kan 25 mg/L had positive reaction. We also made dot blot analysis with those green shoots, some of them gave positive signal, indicating that the foreign genes had integrated into rape genome. Fungal challenge of these transgenic plants showed that some plants were much more resistant to Sclerotinia sclerotiorium than non-transgenic control plants.

Plant bivalent expression vector pBLGC for basic tobacco beta-1, 3-glucanase and bean chitinase genes were constructed, and the tobacco tissue was transformed. Transgenic tobacco plants were carried out for analysis by PCR, PCR-Southern blot, Dot blot, Western blot, etc., and the results showed that some transgenic plants gave strong positive signal, it suggested that foreign genes have been integrated into tobacco genome, and expressed correctly. Fungal challenge with Alternaria alternata showed that transgenic plants were much more resistant to this pathogenic fungus.

The somatic meiosis-like reduction was observed in some cells in the embryogenic calli of Arabidopsis thaliana. One type was somatic chromosome reductional grouping, in which the chromosomes in a cell either separated into two groups, or separated into more than two groups at prophase or metaphase. The chromosomes separated directly, the morphology of the chromosomes did not show any role of the spindle fibers. Chromosome reductional grouping happened more frequently in polyploid cells. The other type was somatic meiossi which was analogous to that existed in the process of gametogenesis, and characterized by the pairing and synapsis of homologues chromosomes. In the embryogenic calli cultured on dedifferentiation medium, about 3% of the observed cells contained haploid number of chromosomes, while the tetrad cells occurred at a frequency of about 4%. The somatic meiosis-like reduction could result in the recombination of chromosomes in the cells generated by these processes. The roles of somatic meiosis-like reduction in the somatic embryogenesis and somaclonal variations were discussed.

(Sp)-octyl 8-chloroadenosine 3',5'-cyclophosphate(OCC), a newly synthesized cAMP analog, strongly induced growth inhibition and differentiation in human leukemia HL-60 cells. The effects were dose- and time-dependent and irreversible. In flow cytometry, OCC brought about a block at the G1 phase of HL-60 cell cycle. Determined by incorporation assay, OCC was shown to strongly inhibit DNA synthesis without affecting the synthesis of RNA and protein in HL-60 cells. OCC activated the protein kinase A(PKA) in the cytosol of HL-60 cells and inhibited its binding to cAMP. The activities of PKA in the cytosol of HL-60 cells treated with OCC were more significantly increased than those in control cells. It can be concluded that OCC binds itself to PKA in competition with cAMP and, as a result, activates PKA.

The influence of four kinds of polysaccharide sulfate [heparin (Hep), low molecular weight heparin (LMWH), proglylene glucol mannate sulfate (MS871), chondroitin A sulfate (CAS)] on HUVEC injured by polycations and oxygen free radicals was investigated. The degree of injury was determined by checking the release of LDH to medium and 3H-TdR incorporation. The four kinds of polysaccharide sulfate were shown to protect cells from injury caused by polylysine concentration-dependently. The study also showed that the effects of Hep and CAS were stronger than those of LMWH and MS871 at the same dose level. In view of the level of LDH, the four kinds of polysaccharide sulfate can protect cells from oxygen free radical injury. The effects of Hep and CAS were more active than those of LMWH.

The result suggests that the cholagogic effect of A. anethoides, A. haichowenesis and A. capillaris are not different significantly (P > 0.05), but the duration of action caused by anethoides and haichowenesis is longer than that caused capillaris. The cholagogic effect of A. capillaris collected in seedling, flower budding (beginning of autumn) and preflower periods were also investigated separately, and the preflower collection was found more cholagogic.

The effects of angiotensin II and other six vasoactive agents on tissue blood flow of Yoshida rat ascites hepatoma AH109A and normal liver were measured by the hydrogen clearance method. The mean blood flow in the tumor peripheral part under normotensin was 11.9 +/- 8.2 ml/min/100 g tissue and was not influenced by tumor size. Tumor blood flow was more significantly increased in infusion angiotensin II than 0.5 mg/ml methoxamine; however, normal liver blood flow of tumor-bearing rats was unchanged in contrast to an increase seen in the tumor. A Pronounced reduction of tumor blood flow was found after administration of epinephrine, norepinephrine and ethylphenylephrine. In addition, metaraminol, phenylephrine as well as 1.0 and 2.5 mg/ml methoxamine were not found to significantly change the blood flow of the tumor.

This paper is a study of the effects of molybdenum on the experimental fluorine poisoning in rats and on sodium molybdate treatment of the F-stain teeth in children. The experimental results show that the high-F and Mo feed animal, the excretion of urine-F was more than high-F, the F-content of teeth was reduced, the pathological change of skeletal tissue was relatively little, when sodium molybdate was used to treat children with fluorosis teeth for 3 months, the hair-F would reduce, whereas the hair-Mo increase the immune function would rise--the PHA skin test positive rate raised from effect 33.3% to 69.2%. It is suggested that Mo can interfere with the F-poisoning effect and that Mo may well be used as z worth medicine for the prevention and control of this illness.

T-lymphocyte subsets and their ability to form T-lymphocyte colony were studied in 29 patients with breast cancer, 13 patients with benign breast diseases, and 28 normal females. Cellular immunity was found suppressed in breast cancer patients with an abnormally elevated percentage of OKT8. There were a reversed ratio of T4/T8, low T-cell proliferation, and some immunity-suppressing factors in the peripheral blood. These abnormalities were most evident in stage III breast cancer patients. The ratio of T4/T8 increased significantly and the colony formation of T cells greatly improved (P less than 0.001) 5-6 months after radical mastectomy in 7 patients, It is suggested that immune suppression of tumor is strengthened after surgery.

To study the stability of total nutrient admixture, glucose, amino acid, fat emulsion, electrolyte, and other nutrients in different combinations and concentrations were admixed and infused into 16 3-liter polyvinyl chloride bags, which at last were stored at 4 degrees C, 22-25 degrees C, 32 degrees C, respectively. Samples were inspected at 0, 12, 24 and 48 hours. The results showed that the admixture was stable when total concentration of mono cation was lower than 150 mmol/L, Mg2+ less than 3.4 mmol/L, and Ca2+ less than 1.7 mmol/L, stored at 4 degrees C for 48 hours, or at 22-25 degrees C for 24 hours. We conclude that PVC 3L container is safe for storage of TNA at least within 24 hours.

By Y-maze method, repeated administrations of sodium glutamate 400 mg.kg-1.d-1 ip for 5 d before training remarkably reduced the number of trials from 45.3 +/- 15.5 of the control to 20.0 +/- 6.9 in mouse of anisodine-induced memory impairment. Ketamine (10 mg.kg-1, ip), a selective NMDA receptor antagonist, inhibited the anti-amnesic activity of piracetam. The number of memory errors was raised from 1.9 +/- 1.5 to 2.6 +/- 2.1 in mouse step-down test. Piracetam 500 mg.kg-1.d-1 ip for 3 d caused a decrease in mouse brain glutamate content and glutamate/GABA rate from 7.07 +/- 0.83 mumol.g-1 to 5.69 +/- 0.60 mumol.g-1 and 4.98 +/- 0.63 to 4.52 +/- 0.81, respectively. These results suggest that facilitatory effect of piracetam on memory may be mediated by glutamate receptor.

The derivatives of 5'-dehydroxymethyl carbocyclic nucleoside were synthesized by condensation of cyclopentenyl chloride and corresponding pyrimidines followed by epoxidation and substitution. All compounds were screened for anticancer and antiviral activities and no activity was found.

By using monoclonal anti-myoglobin antibodies to sensitize new immunospheres, serum myoglobin (SMb) was semi-quantitatively estimated with a rapid reverse passive latex agglutination (RPLA) test. Its clinical value in the early diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) has been evaluated in 56 patients with AMI, 7 of them being observed serially. There are 92 serum specimens of AMI, of which 19 were within 12 hours after the onset of symptoms. Meanwhile, serum specimens of 72 non-AMI patients were observed with the same method. All the specimens above were also quantitated with radioimmunoassay (RIA) and the results were compared with those of RPLA. RPLA test was negative in the specimens below 100 ng/ml (81 specimens) and positive in those above 110 ng/ml (73 specimens). For specimens from 100 to 110 ng/ml, RPLA test could be either positive (9/10) or negative (1/10). This study confirms that RPLA test is a very sensitive indicator for acute myocardial infarction. It can yield a reliable semi-quantitative estimation of SMb within a few minutes. Because of its simplicity, rapidity and practicability. RPLA test is especially convenient for use in emergency room.
