- Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of transitional care based on Omaha system and WeChat platform on the rehabilitation after breast cancer surgery. Methods Totally 98 patients undergoing with axillary lymphadenectomy for breast cancer were selected by a convenient sampling method. Patients were randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 49 each. The control group was given routine nursing after breast cancer surgery, and the observation group was given routine nursing and transitional care based on Omaha system and WeChat platform for 3 months. Follow-up was performed before discharge, 1, 2 and 3 months after surgery. The upper limb circumference was measured and the exercise compliance scale was filled out. Results The rates of lymphedema in the control group in the first, second, and third months were significant higher than those in the intervention group, respectively (P < 0.05). At the end of second and third months after discharge from hospital, the total score of the exercise compliance scale and factor scores of physical exercise, active advice seeking, postoperative precaution were higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion The transitional ere based on the Omaha system and WeChat platform is more conducive to reducing the incidence of postoperative lymphedema in breast cancer patients, improving postoperative exercise compliance and rehabilitation after surgery.
