Objective Shield tunneling may cause displacement and deformation of the nearby viaduct foundation and reduce its bearing capacity. Therefore, the deformation effect caused by shield tunnel closely side-passing viaduct foundation is studied based on an actual project. Method Relying on the project of Hefei Metro Line 5 in which the shield tunnel passes the pile foundation of the viaduct on the side, a three-dimensional numerical model is established to analyze the horizontal displacement,the longitudinal displacement and the settlement pattern of the pile foundation caused by shield construction. Result & Conclusion The research results show that the horizontal displacement at the pile bottom presents dynamic changes of leaving, approaching and leaving the tunnel. The horizontal displacement of the pile body is similar to a C shape flexture curve. The displacement increases first and then decreases along with the pile depths, and the extreme value is located at the pile depth of 9~10 m. The longitudinal displacement at the pile bottom （parallel to the tunnel axis） shows a bimodal curve. After the shield passing the pile foundation, the pile body undergoes longitudinal deformation in the opposite direction of the excavation. After the shield passing through the pile foundation for 12m and further, the horizontal displacement of the pile body in longitudinal direction rebounds, indicating that the influence of shield tunneling on the longitudinal deformation of the pile foundation is reversible to a certain extent. The settlement of the pile foundation presents a steep trend. The closer the pile foundation at the same side is to the tunnel, the greater the settlement. Moreover, the excavation of the far side tunnel will cause secondary settlement of the pile top. The maximum settlement occurs at the bottom of the No.4 pile foundation, and the settlement value is 4.94 mm.

Protocol state machine active inference is a technique that relies on active automata learning.However, the abstraction of the alphabet and the construction of the mapper present critical challenges.Due to the diversity of messages of the same type, the response types of the same type are different, causing the method of regarding the message types as the alphabet will result in the loss of states or state transitions.To address the issue, message types were refined into subtypes according to the different responses and a progressive active inference method was proposed.The proposed method extracted the state fields from the existing protocol data to construct the initial alphabet and the mapper, and obtained the initial state machine based on active automata learning.It then mutated the existing messages to explore the response sequences, which were inconsistent with the current state machine.The mutated message was regarded as a protocol subtype and added to the alphabet, and a new state machine was inferred progressively based on the new alphabet.In order to reduce the interactions, a pre-response query algorithm was proposed based on prefix matching for the caching mechanism in the active automata learning.The ProLearner tool was utilized to evaluate the proposed method in the context of the SMTP and RSTP protocols.It is verified that the pre-response query method can effectively reduce the number of actual interactions, with an average reduction rate of about 10%.

Sematic attacks based on the data flow analysis bring big challenges to the code obfuscation.Concerning the data flow of virtual machine based (VM-based) code protection,the method transfers the mapping relation between the virtual registers and the op-code of the bytecode during executing,which means the uncertainty and complexity of the data flow during interpretive execution of the bytecode.In addition,three policies are proposed to address the problem that how to choose the length of rotation for each bytecode,which grows complexity of the protection.Finally,a prototype of VRR-VM (virtual machine protection system based on virtual registers rotation) was implemented.Experiment results show that the method is effective and applicable for anti-reversing.

Background and objective This study aims to explore the effect of epidermal growth factor receptor-tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKIs) on the lymphangiogenesis of lung cancer with EGFR mutation, as well as to determine the function of EGFR targeted therapy in relation to the inhibition of lymphangiogenesis during lung cancer treatment. Methods The EGFR double mutant lung cancer cell line NCI-H1975 is used to construct lung cancer xenograft models. The models are divided into two groups: the solvent control group and the EGFR-TKI treatment group. Each group includes five mice. The inhibitory effect of EGFR-TKI on the growth of transplanted tumors was observed. Immunohistochemical method and lymphatic endothelium specific antibody D2-40 were used in the experiment to observe the influence of EGFR-TKI on lymphangiogenesis in lung cancer. Results The weight and relative volume of tumors in the EGFR-TKI treated group were less than those in the solvent control group. The average lymphatic vessel density of EGFR-TKI-treated mice was 6.44 per case. This value was 10.70 per case in the solvent control group. Lower density of lymphangiogenesis was found in the EGFR-TKI treated group (P=0.023). The area and longest diameter of neonatal lymphatic vessel of the EGFR-TKI treated group were less than those of the solvent control group. Moreover, EGFR-TKI exhibited no significant effect on the invasion of tumor cells into the lymphatic vessel (P=0.519). Conclusion EGFR-TKI can inhibit lymphangiogenesis in EGFR mutant lung cancer while suppressing vessel diameter and expansion area.

Background and objective More than 35% Ib stage lung cancers have metastasised or recurrenced after operation, whose prognosis still remain poor. There’re much controversy over the necessity of adjuvant chemotherapy to them. This aim of this study is investigated the clinical and pathological characters influencing prognosis of the stage Ib non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and to explore the indication of postoperative chemotherapy. Methods NSCLC patients (281 cases) who underwent lobectomy were examined. Cox proportional-hazards ratios were used to identify independent prognostic factors for survival. Kaplan-Meier survival curves were calculated to estimate survival rates. Infectious diseases are often stigmatized and criminalized because of the way they are transmitted. An experience providing care to a 37-year-old patient with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection who was admitted to a medical center's quarantine ward in July 2021 due to SARS-CoV-2 infection is described in this article. This patient lived with his mother, who was later diagnosed with COVID-19 as well. He was worried about his mother's health condition and, meanwhile, feared that information about his diseases and person would be exposed by the media. These stressors led to increased feelings of shame and anxiety and to situational low self-esteem. Several interventions were provided, including education regarding the importance of personal hygiene and of maintaining combination antiretroviral therapy (cART) to bolster immune system functions. During the isolation period, the nurses most regularly interacted with the patient directly. Thus, we worked to build the nurse-patient relationship by listening to the patient's worries, guaranteeing his privacy would not be compromised, and guiding him to express his emotions to reduce anxiety and enhance confidence. This experience demonstrated the importance of providing psychological care to COVID-19/HIV coinfected patients. We suggest that the government and media distribute correct and neutral information to destigmatize communicable diseases and to foster a friendlier healthcare environment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The experiment was to research the PEI modified calcium carbonate-Acanthopanax senticosus polysaccharide nanoparticles with avian influenza vaccine for chicken H5N1 antibody levels and cytokine expression. A total of 150 one-day-old healthy Sanhuang chickens were randomly divided into six groups, with five replicates in each group and five chicken in each group. The blank group was injected with 0.6 mL normal saline. Positive group was injected 10 g/L APS 0.3 mL. Single vaccine group, CaCO3 group and CaCO3-ASPS group were injected with 10 g/L ASPS 0.3 mL, respectively. CaCO3-ASPS-PEI group was injected with 10 g/L ASPS 0.3 mL. The results showed that compared with blank group and pure vaccine group, the immune organ index of CaCO3-ASPS-PEI group increased from 21, 28, 35 d, especially the spleen and bursa of fabricius index of chicks at 35 d were the highest. Compared with blank group and pure vaccine group, the level of H5N1 antibody in CaCO3-ASPS-PEI group showed an overall upward trend. Except for blank group, all the samples of other groups were qualified on the 28th and 35th day, and the qualified rate was 100%. Cytokines IL-2 and IFN-γ in the CaCO3-ASPS-PEI group compared to the blank and pure vaccine groups, the expression levels were extremely improved at the 35th day (P<0.01). The cytokines IL-4 and IL-6 were significantly improved at the 28th day (P<0.05). The experiment indicates that CaCO3-ASPS-PEI combined with H5N1 AI vaccine can significantly improve the immune organ index, improve the level of AI antibody, and enhance the expression of cytokines in serum of chicks, which can be used as an effective immune adjuvant in combination with AI vaccine to enhance the immune effect of AI vaccine. The focus of this article is on a male patient with hearing loss who was diagnosed with COVID-19 after returning to Taiwan from overseas. Due to the severe pneumonia infiltration, the patient received the clinical-trial treatment Remdesivir. In addition to facing the isolation and new-drug-related anxieties of the patient, the medical team faced difficulties in communicating effectively with the patient and in helping him through the isolation period. During the period of hospitalization (March 14th to April 13th, 2020), the author used Roy's adaptation model to perform a nursing assessment, which confirmed that the patient faced the following problems: (1) ineffective breathing pattern related to COVID-19, (2) impaired verbal communication related to hearing impairment, and (3) social isolation related to the isolation experience and the communication barrier with healthcare workers. During the nursing care process, the author helped the patient receive the antiviral treatment and taught him how to do diaphragmatic breathing in a comfortable, recumbent position to improve his breathing pattern. To reduce the difficulty of communication, the author made a pile of cards with common care-related words, provided pen and paper to write, and used a mobile-phone-based socialnetworking application to communicate with the patient. The author used writing to communicate with the patient and learned some simple signs from him to enable interaction. Moreover, the intervention helped him adapt to the isolation and treatment protocols to reach holistic nursing care. Based on this experience, the author suggests that hospitals cooperate with sign language organizations to teach healthcare workers simple communication skills, including sign language and cards to provide more complete care for patients with hearing loss during hospitalization. BACKGROUND: Both open and closed kinetic chain exercises can be applied to meniscal lesions in the knee joint, but their mechanisms are different. There is still no clinical report on the improvement of meniscus lesions by the two exercise methods. OBJECTIVE: To observe the effects of open kinetic chain exercise and closed kinetic chain exercise on meniscus lesions in young patients. METHODS: Forty-nine young patients with meniscus lesions were treated with rehabilitation and conservative treatments. They were randomly divided into two groups using a random digital table method: a biofeedback open kinetic chain group (n=25) treated with basic therapy combined with terminal knee extension biofeedback training, and a leg press closed kinetic chain group (n=24) treated with basic therapy combined with single-leg press training. The basic treatment included electro-acupuncture, manipulation therapy and unarmed exercise therapy. Biofeedback open chain training was conducted with Myotrac infinitie biofeedback instrument produced by Thought, Canada. Closed chain training with leg press was conducted using pedal accessories of GYM80 intelligent strength training system, Germany. All the trainings were conducted once a day for 3 consecutive weeks. Curative effects were assessed by joint range of motion (ROM) during knee joint flexion and extension, total ROM, visual analogue scale score, modified Lysholm knee score, and activity of daily Iiving score. The study protocol was implemented in line with the relevant requirements of Sichuan Provincial Orthopedic Hospital. All the patients were informed of the study procedures. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Assessment for ROM: After treatment, the ROM during joint flexion and extension and total ROM in the biofeedback open kinetic chain group were significantly better than the baseline (P < 0.05), the ROM during joint extension and total ROM in the leg press closed kinetic chain group were significantly better than the baseline (P < 0.05), and the ROM in the biofeedback open kinetic chain group was higher than that in the leg press closed kinetic chain group, but there was no significant difference between two groups (P > 0.05). Assessment for pain and function: The two groups had statistically significant improvements on visual analogue scale score, modified Lysholm knee score, and activity of daily living score after treatment (P < 0.05). Compared with the biofeedback open kinetic chain group, the activity of daily living score was higher in the leg press closed kinetic chain group (P < 0.05). The two groups had satisfactory effects on the knee joint ROM, pain and functional performance. Therefore, biofeedback open kinetic chain exercise has a better improvement on the knee joint ROM, while the leg press closed kinetic chain exercise shows better outcomes in the improvement of knee functional performance and activity of daily living based on the basis of pain control. Aiming at the comprehensive optimization problem of area and power consumption of MPRM circuits, an optimal polarity search scheme, called Multi-Objective Ternary Diversity Particle Swarm Optimization (MOTDPSO), is proposed. On the basis of Ternary Diversity Particle Swarm Optimization (TDPSO) solving the comprehensive optimization problem of MPRM circuits, the mutation operator is introduced to perturb the particle, and the boundary constraint processing is performed on the particle beyond the defined boundary range. The concept of Pareto dominance is used to improve the algorithm. Then, the parameter mapping relationship between the particle based on Pareto dominance and the polarity of MPRM circuits is established. By combining the area and power evaluation model and the OR/XNOR circuit mixed polarity conversion method, the algorithm is applied to optimize the area and power consumption of MPRM circuits. Finally, tests on 18 MCNC benchmark circuits with PLA format show that, compared with the NSGA-II algorithm, the average area optimization rate of the optimal solution obtained by the MOTDPSO algorithm is 4.29%, and the average power consumption optimization rate is 6.02%. Objective To study the distribution, virulence genes, drug sensitivity and molecular characteristic of Bacillus cereus in five foods in Haikou area. Methods The Bacillus cereus strains were isolated from different foods including pastries, milk powder, fast food, Hainan rice noodles and its ingredients, collected from Haikou area, according to the standard GB 4789.14-2014. The specific gene groEL and 10 virulence genes were detected by general polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method. The sensitivity to antibiotics of isolates was performed with minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC). The pulsed field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) patterns of strains were analyzed. Results 197 strains of B. cereus were isolated from 626 food samples and the positive rate of B. cereus was 31.5%. In particular, most of B. cereus strains were isolated from Hainan rice noodles, accounting for 63.1% (140/222). All isolates carried at least one virulence gene, the rate of entFMgene was the highest, up to 99.0% (195/197). On the contrary, ces gene was the lowest at 2.5% (5/197) only. There were 175 (88.8%) strains that carried genes of nheA, nheB and nheC simultaneously. There were 27 (13.7%) strains that carried genes of hblA, hblC and hblD simultaneously. The sensitive rate of strains towards gentamicin, chloramphenicol, vancomycin and ciprofloxacin were 100.0% (197/197), 100.0% (197/197), 99.5% (196/197) and 92.9% (183/197), respectively. And the resistance rate of strains towards penicillin and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole were 100.0% (197/197) and 90.9% (179/197), respectively. The PFGE result showed 30 clusters and 117 genotypes. Conclusion The positive rate of Bacillus cereus in five foods in Haikou area was relatively high, especially in Hainan rice noodles, which should arouse attention and close observation. Targeted prevention and control measures can be carried out according to the characteristics of virulence genes, molecular typing and antibiotic sensitivity of the strains.

The internal flow of a lubricant vane pump in aircraft engine is simulated using the computational fluid dynamics software Star-cd to estimate the influences of inlet and outlet pressures on its internal flow. A self-compiled code is called by the subroutines of Star-cd to generate the moving mesh of vane pump, especially to capture the gap shape between vane and stator. Rayleigh cavitation model and Menders SST k-ω) model are used in the simulation. The calculated flow rates are obtained under different inlet and outlet pressures. The simulation results demonstrate that the transient flow rate at the inlet is stable, while the transient flow rate at the outlet fluctuates significantly. The calculated results also demonstrate that the flow rate increases significantly with the increase in inlet pressure. And with the increase in outlet pressure, the back flow is increased and the collapse velocity of cavitation is also increased, resulting in a small reduction in the flow flux. [Objective] As a new type of economic form characterized by innovation, progress, and extension, digital economy is an important driving force to promote the high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin and create new advantages in regional competition. Exploring the evolution of the spatial pattern of digital economy enterprises in the Yellow River Basin and the influencing factors is of great significance for realizing the effect of digital economy reshaping the economic geographical pattern. [Methods] Based on the data of more than 130000 digital economy enterprises in the Yellow River Basin from 2002 to 2019, we used standard deviation ellipse, kernel density estimation, and the multi-scale geographically weighted regression model to explore the evolution of the spatial pattern of digital enterprises in the region. [Results] (1) The number of digital economy enterprises in the Yellow River Basin had increased significantly, showing the characteristics of downstream cities > midstream cities > upstream cities, with the overall spatial pattern of strong in the east and weak in the west and a trend of contraction, and the urban agglomerations showed significant differences in the development process. (2) The distribution of the digital industry manufacturing enterprises showed a trend of a single cluster of downstream cities and the orderly expansion of middle and upstream cities, while the digital technology application enterprises showed a trend of close connection between middle and downstream cities and multi-core clusters. (3) The location selection of digital industry manufacturing enterprises gives more consideration to location factors and has the characteristics of path dependence, while the location selection of digital technology application enterprises gives consideration to location and technology factors and has the characteristics of both path dependence and path creation. [Conclusion] Developing digital economy according to local conditions is an important means to achieve high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin, and we recommend to promote the digital economy industry to release its potential by improving its foundation, achieving precise layout, promoting innovation and optimizing the structure, and promoting innovation.

Objective To establish a stable-expressing human cell cycle regulatory protein 50A (CDC50A) SKOV3 cell strain expressing vector containing CDC50A by molecular cloning. Methods CDC50A was introduced into the expression vector pLVX-IRES-GFP by molecular cloning method. The pLVX-CDC50A-GFP expression plasmid was packaged by lentivirus and stably transfected into SKOV3. SKOV3 cell strain with high-expressing CDC50A was established. The expression of Flag protein was analyzed by flow cytometry, Western blot and immunofluorescence. Results The construction of pLVX-CDC50A-GFP expressing vector was confirmed by gel electrophoresis and endonuclease digestion. The efficiency of infection was observed qualitatively under fluorescence microscope and detected quantitatively by flow cytometry as 86.5%. Flag-tag protein was detected by Western blot to present only in the positive group. Conclusions The SKOV3 cell strain was established by infecting with lentivirus of pLVX-CDC50A-GFP, laying a foundation for the mechanism study of CDC50A in ovarian cancer.

Objective To construct the expression vectors carrying human Type Ⅳ-P-type phospholipids transferases 11A or 11B (ATP11A or ATP11B), and to detect the up-regulation effect on ATP11A or ATP11B. Methods The primers were designed according to ATP11A or ATP11B sequence and cloned into EZ-TTM Cloning Vector. The primers were identified by enzyme digestion and verified by sequencing. ATP11A and ATP11B sequences were digested and directed to expression vectors pLVX-IRES-mCherry and pLVX-IRES-RFP, respectively. Then the recombinant expression plasmids with immunofluorescence protein were transfected into HEK-293T using liposomes. Finally, the expression of the recombinant cell strains was verified by sequencing, fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry and Western blot. Results The construction of ATP11A and ATP11B cloning vectors was confirmed by gel electrophoresis and was analyzed by endonuclease. The efficiency of transfection was observed qualitatively under microscope, detected quantitatively by flow cytometry as 38.9%,41.9% respectively, and the tagged proteins were detected by Western blot to present only in the positive groups. Conclusions The expression vectors of human ATP11A and ATP11B are successfully constructed and their expression levels could be effec-tively upregulated,which lay a foundation for future mechanism studies involved to ATP11A or ATP11B.

Medical imaging plays an important role in clinical works. However, most students are challenged by difficulty to apply imaging knowledge into clinical practice, mainly due to the lack of relevant training and guidance. This study initially explored the remodeling of imaging teaching pathway led by clinicians,merge medical image learning into clinical work, before, during and after operation. The method pays more attention to clinical reasoning development and is welcomed by both undergraduates and trainees of standardized residents' training program. We recommend teaching model to other medical schools without hesitation.

Objective To investigate the prevalence, clinical features and related factors of migraine in underwater operation personnel in China. Methods A total of 308 underwater operation personnel sampled by a cluster sampling method were visited by door-to-door calling and surveyed using the structured questionnaire including sociodemographic data, diagnostic questions on headache, life quality and sleep quality. Results Seventy-three (23.70%) cases suffered from headache in the past one year, among whom 64 cases presented primary headaches (20.78%), including 19 cases of migraine (6.17%) manifesting unilateral pain (14/19), pulsatile pain (15/19) and moderate or severe pain (18/19). Phonophobia (14/19) and photophobia (12/19) were the most common accompanying symptoms. Univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analysis revealed that risk factors including age, education, residence, marital status, length of sevice and identity, had no significant differences from migraine prevalence (P > 0.05, for all). Conclusions Migraine has a high prevalence in underwater operation personnel and exerts serious impact on their work and life quality. doi: 10.3969/j.issn.1672-6731.2014.04.013

Human reproduction is based on the physiological structures of men and women and affected and restricted by various physiological factors. Infertility is now receiving more and more attention and male infertility reportedly accounts for about half of the infertility cases and is becoming one of the serious problems affecting human reproduction and health. The normal intestinal microbiota flora is an important substance to maintain normal metabolism of the human body and closely related to its physiology and pathology. This paper discusses the correlation between the intestinal flora, spleen and stomach theory in TCM and male infertility, from the perspective of the gut flora and the TCM prescriptions for strengthening the spleen and stomach and regulating the imbalance of intestinal flora, aiming to provide some more ideas and theoretical evidence for the clinical studies and treatment of male infertility.

Objective To investigate the expression levels of miRNA132 in patients with the first-episode major depressive disorder(MDD) and in chronic unpredictable mild stress(CUMS)rats.Methods Forty-one first-episode MDD patients(MDD group)were recruited from the outpatient departments of Hangzhou Seventh People's Hospital between March 2017 and May 2018,and 31 healthy volunteers(control group)were recruited.The patients' severity of symptoms was assessed with HAMD17.In addition,24 male SD rats were equally assigned into control group and CUMS group.The depression-like behaviors of rats was detected by sucrose preference test and forced swimming test.Plasma corticosterone levels of rats were assayed by ELISA.The expression levels of miRNA132 in the blood or prefrontal cortex were detected by quantitative real-time PCR.Results The expression level of miRNA132 in peripheral blood was significantly higher in MDD group(2.37±0.36)than in control group(1.34±0.16)( t =2.355, P =0.0213),and there was a positive correlation between miRNA132 levels and the HAMD17 score in MDD group( P =0.0004, r s =0.5303, n =41).The immobility time of CUMS group [(72.67±2.95)s] was significantly longer than that of control group [(40.00±5.49)s] in forced swim test( t =2.366, P =0.0395).The sucrose intake of CUMS group [(55.67±6.42)%] was significantly lower than that of control group [(98.21±1.28)%] in sucrose preference test( t =6.502, P <0.0001).The plasma corticosterone level in CUMS group [(1396.0±254.9)nmol/L] was significantly higher than that of control group [(557.3±158.4)nmol/L]( t =2.795, P =0.0190).The miRNA132 levels in blood(2.32±0.88)and prefrontal cortex(2.80±0.76)of CUMS rats were significantly higher than those [1.18±0.36( t =2.273, P =0.0463)and 0.99±0.23( t =2.553, P =0.0287),respectively] of control group.Conclusions The expression trend of miRNA132 in peripheral blood is consistent between MDD patients and CUMS rats.In CUMS rats,the expression of miRNA132 in blood is also consistent with that in prefrontal cortex.The expression of miRNA132 in blood may reflect the change trend of miRNA132 expression in prefrontal cortex.

Objective: To explore the working mode of continuous malaria elimination., Methods: Judong Village in Congjiang County, Guizhou Province, which had the highest record of malaria incidence in the history of Guizhou Province, was selected as a pilot, a comprehensive prevention and control intervention was carried out aiming at the malaria epidemic, transmission and influencing factors, and the effect was evaluated after the intervention., Results: From 2015 to 2016, through those intensive measures of constructing system, improving environment and health education, the people's awareness of malaria prevention was increased, the people's enthusiasm and initiatives to participate in the prevention and control of malaria were improved in Judong Village. Meanwhile, the roads were hardened and beautified, the dispose of sewage, feces and garbage was centralized. The awareness rate of malaria prevention knowledge of residents increased to 85% to 95%, and the formation rate of anti-mosquito behavior increased to 89.66%. Objective: To explore activity laws of mitochondrial complex II in patients of deficiency-cold syndrome (DCS) and deficiency-heat syndrome (DHS) under various ambient temperatures., Methods: Subjects were recruited by questionnaire and expert diagnosis from grade 1 - 3 undergraduates at Henan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in November 2012, and assigned to a normal control group, the DCS group, and the DHS group, 20 in each group. Their venous blood samples were collected at two different temperature conditions. Activities of mitochondrial complex II were measured by spectrophotometry., Results: (1) Comparison of mitochondrial complex It under various ambient temperatures: Compared with room temperature in the same group, activity values were all increased in the normal control group at cold temperature with significant difference (P <0.05), but there was no significant difference in the DCS group and the DHS group (P >0. 05). Compared with the normal control group, activity values of complex H were reduced in the DCS group at cold and room temperatures with significant difference (P <0.05). Compared with the DCS group, activity values of complex It were increased in the DHS group with significant difference (P <0. 05). (2) Changes of adjustment rates: Compared with room temperature, the adjustment rate all rose at cold temperature in the normal control group and the DHS group with significant difference (P <0.05), but with no significant difference found in the DCS group (P >0. 05). Compared with the normal control group at the same temperature, the adjustment rate in the DHS group and the DCS group was all reduced at cold and room temperatures with significant difference (P <0. 05). There were no significant difference in the adjustment rate between the DHS group and the DCS group (P > 0. 05)., Conclusions: Environment temperature can affect the activity of mitochondrial complex II with different influence degrees on different syndrome types of people, but its change trend are basically identical.

Objective: To investigate the efficacy and mechanisms of Bawei Xilei Powder (BXP) in treating ulcerative colitis (UC)., Methods: Totally 103 patients with left hemicolon mild to moderate UC in the active phase at the outpatient clinics of West China Hospital from June 2009 to October 2010 were randomly assigned to the treatment group (55 cases) and the control group (48 cases). Patients in the treatment group were treated with BXP (adding 1 g in 60 mL worm boiled water) and those in the control group received by 50 mg/60 mL hydrocortisone edema solution (once every evening before sleep). The therapeutic course for all was 4 weeks. The disease activity degree (Mayo scoring), endoscopic, and histologic manifestations were compared between post-and pre-treatment in the two groups. The expression of toll-like receptor-4 (TLR4), nuclear factor-kappaB (NF-kappaB), and Occludin were detected., Results: The clinical remission rate and the response rate in the treatment group were 78.2% and 89.1% respectively, higher than those of the control group (58.3% and 72.9%, P < 0.05).The endoscopically mucosal healing rate was 50.9% in the treatment group and 31.3% in the control group (P < 0.05). The histological remission rate and the effective rate in the treatment group were 32.7% and 65.5% respectively, but higher than those of the control group (27.1% and 58.3%, P > 0.05). The rate of adverse events was 3.8% in the treatment (occurred in 2 cases) and 4.3% in the control group (occurred in 2 cases, P > 0.05). Compared with pre-treatment, the expression of TLR4 and NF-kappaB p65 significantly decreased (P < 0.05), while the expression of Occludin significantly increased (P < 0.05)., Conclusions: BXP was effective and safe in patients with active mild to moderate UC. Objective: To study the corneal permeability of three different pirenzepine eye-drop solutions and provide reference for further clinical use., Methods: Sixty-three New Zealand white rabbits were divided into three groups. Each group of rabbits received 2% pirenzepine (pirenzepine group), 2% pirenzepine with 0.1% hyaluronic acid (hyaluronic acid group), or 2% pirenzepine with 0.1% azone (azone group). One drop eye-drops was applied to conjunctive sac every 5 min for six times. Aqueous samples were obtained from each group at 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0, 8.0, 12.0, 24.0 h after the last drop, respectively. Concentration of pirenzepine in these samples was determined by the HPLC (high pressure liquid chromatography). Stimulation symptom of rabbit eyes was also observed., Results: The concentrations of pirenzepine in aqueous humor were (0.40 +/- 0.06) microg/ml at 0.5 h, (0.53 +/- 0.03) microg/ml at 1.0 h, (1.52 +/- 0.33) microg/ml at 2.0 h and (0.15 +/- 0.02) microg/ml at 4.0 h in pirenzepine group. Aqueous humor concentration of pirenzepine in both 2% pirenzepine with 0.1% azone and 2% pirenzepine with 0.1% hyaluronic acid were significantly higher than that of single pirenzepine application, and their bioavailability in the groups with combinations of pirenzepine with 0.1% azone or 0.1% hyaluronic acid were 23.0 times and 3.4 times higher than that of single pirenzepine usage. No obvious irritate symptom was found in rabbit of all three groups after eye-drop applying., Conclusions: The combination application of pirenzepine with azone or hyaluronic acid has higher corneal permeability compared with pirenzepine alone. This result indicates that azone and hyaluronic acid could be used in pirenzepine eye-drop solution to increase corneal permeability.
