BackgroundDue to the prominent particularity of medical work， nurses are prone to developing depression， which not only poses a considerable threat to the physical and mental health of nurses， but also affects the quality of nursing to some extent. Occupational stress is a known contributor to depression in nurses， whereas relatively little research has been done to investigate the underlying mediation path.ObjectiveTo explore the mediation effect of perceived organizational support and psychological capital on the relationship between occupational stress and depression among nurses， and to provide theoretical references for the prevention and treatment of occupational stress-induced depression in nurses.MethodsFrom March to August 2019， a stratified random sampling method was utilized to select a sample size of 720 nurses in each department of a grade A tertiary hospital in Shandong Province. All subjects were assessed using Effort-Reward Imbalance Questionnaire （ERI）， Perceived Organization Support Questionnaire （POS）， Psychological Capital Questionnaire （PCQ） and Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale （CES-D）. Pearson correlation was adopted to examine the correlation among above scales， and multilevel mediation analyses were conducted with model 6 in Process macro （version 3.3） for SPSS 26.0 using Bootstrap re-sampling method.ResultsA total of 658 nurses （91.39%） completed the effective questionnaire survey. Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and effects of periodontal endoscope (PE)-assisted subgingival scaling and root planning (SRP) and traditional SRP on the psychological and quality of life of patients with periodontitis. Methods This study was reviewed and approved by the Ethics Committee, and informed consent was obtained from the patients. Patients with periodontitis who were treated in the Department of Periodontology, Nanjing Stomatological Hospital, Medical School of Nanjing University from April 2018 to December 2022 with residual periodontal pockets (PD ≥ 5 mm) 6 weeks after traditional SRP treatment were enrolled, and the residual periodontal pockets were further treated with PE-assisted SRP (PE+SRP). After 6 weeks of traditional SRP treatment and 3 months of PE+SRP treatment, clinical indicators, including plaque index (PLI), probing depth (PD), clinical attachment loss (CAL) and bleeding on probing (BOP), were measured, and periodontal tissue self-awareness scale scores, oral health impact profile-14 (OHIP-14) score and dental fear scale (DFS) score were collected. ObjectiveTo understand the current status of primary healthcare workers’ knowledge of hepatitis B and their willingness to engage in non-discriminatory behaviors， to explore the factors influencing their willingness， and to provide a basis for health education on hepatitis B for primary healthcare workers in Qinghai Province.MethodsA questionnaire survey was conducted among primary healthcare institutions in eight cities （prefectures） of Qinghai Province using a combination of random sampling and convenience sampling. The questionnaire included demographic information， knowledge related to hepatitis B， and willingness to engage in non-discriminatory behaviors.ResultsA total of 393 subjects were included in the survey. The accurate awareness rate of hepatitis B transmission route among primary healthcare workers in Qinghai Province was 36.89%. Of the respondents， 46.31% were unwilling to live with family members infected with HBV or carriers， and 50.13% were unwilling to dine with friends infected with HBV or carriers. ObjectiveTo analyze the online public Q&A texts on HPV vaccine， focus on the important issues related to HPV vaccination and cervical cancer prevention in China， and propose strategies and suggestions.MethodsThe latent Dirichlet allocation （LDA） topic model was employed to extract key topics of 15 565 Q&A texts related to HPV vaccines from the social Q&A platform "Zhihu". The Baidu AI sentiment analysis tool was used to analyze the emotional tendencies of the texts corresponding to each topic， and the topics were classified based on the strategic coordinate method.ResultsOnline users focused on eight topics about HPV vaccine information. Among them， vaccination knowledge， HPV vaccination hesitation， and HPV vaccine development and marketing belonged to the low positivity-high negativity emotional topics， HPV infection and high-risk factors belonged to the low positivity-low negativity emotional topics， and HPV vaccine appointment channels， comparison between domestic and imported vaccines， HPV vaccines and cervical cancer prevention， and HPV vaccine types and selection were grouped under high positivity-low negativity emotional topics.ConclusionPublic concerns regarding HPV vaccines can be classified into three major dimensions： health knowledge， health beliefs， and health behaviors. Overall， the public's views and attitudes towards vaccine-related issues are not optimistic. Strengthening science publicity and education， enhancing vaccine supervision， and encouraging enterprises’ innovative research and development capability are effective strategies to improve public awareness of cervical cancer prevention and accelerate the full HPV vaccination coverage.

This review summarizes commonly used hospital-based healthcare quality evaluation systems at home and abroad, and focuses on evaluation indicators regarding patient safety. Through the comparative analysis between different evaluation systems, it tries to shed light on China's healthcare quality evaluation system, especially the indicators related to patient safety. The purpose of this review is to understand and learn from foreign evaluation systems on patient safety, which can help further improve the quality of healthcare in China.

In this paper, we report an elderly patient who had been experiencing poor appetite for one month and yellowing of the skin and sclera for two months before visiting the Department of Geriatrics at Peking Union Medical College Hospital. The patient's blood tests revealed significantly elevated levels of serum total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, and blood sugar. The serum IgG4 level nearly tripled. Abdominal imaging examinations revealed diffuse pancreatic lesions, narrowing of the intrapancreatic segment of the common bile duct, and thickening and marked enhancement of the common hepatic duct, left and right hepatic ducts, and branches. Blood glucose was also significantly elevated during the course of the disease. Moreover, nutritional assessment found that the patient was malnourished. After multidisciplinary discussion, a medium dose of oral methylprednisolone was prescribed to the patient due to his advanced age and multiple chronic conditions. The dose was then quickly reduced while the patient simultaneously received low-dose mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) treatment. As a result, the patient's bilirubin level significantly decreased, jaundice subsided, and his body weight returned to normal with improved physical function. Throughout the diagnosis and treatment process, a multidisciplinary team actively participated in discussions and gradually identified the underlying cause. This exemplifies the crucial role of interdisciplinary collaboration in effectively diagnosing and treating complex illnesses in elderly patients.

Objective To explore the clinical and genetic characteristics of a Chinese pedigree affected with a syndromic form of hereditary gingival fibromatosis (HGF). Methods Clinical data of the pedigree members were collected. The excised gingiva were collected, and the pathological features were observed by histological sectioning. Genomic DNA was extracted from peripheral blood samples, and whole-exome sequencing was used to identify gene mutations. Results The proband, her mother, her maternal grandfather and her maternal grandfather's sister all suffered from gum hyperplasia; female patients had congenital hirsutism and macromastia, while male patients also had congenital hirsutism, which suggests that this pedigree may have a congenital syndrome. The pathological characteristics of the gingival tissue were chronic inflammation with fibromatous hyperplasia, connective tissue enlargement, and filling with thick collagen fiber bundles. In addition, whole-exome sequencing results showed that no mutations related to known pathogenic genes were found, suggesting that new pathogenic gene mutations may be the cause. Conclusion According to the literature and our gene sequencing results, it is suggested that this may be the first pedigree with a new syndrome HGF (gingival fibromatosis + congenital hirsutism + macromastia) caused by an unknown pathogenic gene mutation.

The study of interfacial transition zone characteristics in manufactured sand mortar is of great significance in enhancing the strength and durability of manufactured sand mortar. The interface microstructure, microzone mechanical strength, and non-uniform deformation of mortar composed of river sand and manufactured sand were examined through scanning electron microscopy (SEM), nanoindentation, and three-dimensional digital image correlation (3D-DIC) techniques. The results indicate that the width of the interfacial transition zone in manufactured sand mortar exceeds that in river sand mortar. Nevertheless, the interface cracks between fine aggregate particles and mortar matrix are smaller in manufactured sand mortar. Notably, microcracks are prone to occurring at the edges of manufactured sand particles. The elastic modulus of the interfacial transition zone in manufactured sand is slightly higher than that in river sand, suggesting that manufactured sand can mitigate the edge effect of aggregates to a certain extent. The non-uniformity of shrinkage deformation is most conspicuous in sandstone manufactured sand mortar, displaying larger internal tensile strains, ultimately leading to a more severe distribution of damage. This implies that an excessive proportion of blade-shaped particles in fine aggregates may heighten the risk of cracking in mortar. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective To detect the expression changes of interleukin-10 (IL-10) and transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) during the development of deep vein thrombosis in mice, and to explore the application value of them in thrombus age estimation. Methods The mice in the experimental group were subjected to ligation of inferior vena cava. The mice were sacrificed by excessive anesthesia at 1 d, 3 d, 5 d, 7 d, 10 d, 14 d and 21 d after ligation, respectively. The inferior vena cava segment with thrombosis was extracted below the ligation point. The mice in the control group were not ligated, and the inferior vena cava segment at the same position as the experimental group was extracted. The expression changes of IL-10 and TGF-β1 were detected by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western blotting and real-time qPCR. Results IHC results revealed that IL-10 was mainly expressed in monocytes in thrombosis and TGF-β1 was mainly expressed in monocytes and fibroblast-like cells in thrombosis. Western blotting and real-time qPCR showed that the relative expression levels of IL-10 and TGF-β1 in each experimental group were higher than those in the control group. The mRNA and protein levels of IL-10 reached the peak at 7 d and 10 d after ligation, respectively. The mRNA expression level at 7 d after ligation was 4.72±0.15 times that of the control group, and the protein expression level at 10 d after ligation was 7.15±0.28 times that of the control group. The mRNA and protein levels of TGF-β1 reached the peak at 10 d and 14 d after ligation, respectively. The mRNA expression level at 10 d after ligation was 2.58±0.14 times that of the control group, and the protein expression level at 14 d after ligation was 4.34±0.19 times that of the control group. Conclusion The expressions of IL-10 and TGF-β1 during the evolution of deep vein thrombosis present time-dependent sequential changes, and the expression levels of IL-10 and TGF-β1 can provide a reference basis for thrombus age estimation. Objective To explore the advantages and disadvantages of S-poly(T) plus qRT-PCR and Poly (A) qRT-PCR methods in detecting peripheral blood serum miR-199. Methods S-poly(T) plus RT-PCR and Poly(A) qRT-PCR methods were used to detect the serum miR-199 in patients with liver cancer and healthy controls in three aspects of sensitivity, linearity and repeatability to evaluate their potential clinical value. Results The Ct values of S-poly(T) plus qRT-PCR method for miR-199 in healthy controls was significantly lower than that of Poly(A) qRT-PCR method (P < 0.0001); and the S-poly(T) plus qRT-PCR method had better linear correlation (P=0.0027) and repeatability (P=0.010). S-poly(T) plus qRT-PCR method had better sensitivity in detecting serum miR-199 in liver cancer patients comparing with Poly (A) qRT-PCR method. Conclusion In the detection of liver cancer serum miR-199, S-poly(T) plus qRT-PCR method is more sensitive, repeatable and stable than Poly(A) qRT-PCR.

The quantum secure communication technology is theoretically unbreakable; and has stronger security protection capabilities than traditional encryption methods. This paper proposes an applied design scheme for quantum secure communication in automatic fare collection (AFC) systems of urban rail transit on the basis of the actual requirements of the AFC system, and in view of the architecture and network transmission scheme of the AFC system. The quantum security equipment is deployed at the clearing center, the line center, and various stations; and the quantum secure communication technology is used to encrypt and transmit the sensitive information of the AFC system. Thus, the data transmission security of the core service system is ensured, and the security protection capability of the AFC system is improved. The proposed design scheme has the characteristics of high security, low impact on AFC system, low implementation difficulty, and strong replicability; and can provide reference for the application of the quantum secure communication technology in various AFC systems of urban rail transit. Objective This study aims to explore the clinical and pathological characteristics of congenital granular cell tumors and provide some references for clinical diagnosis, differential diagnosis, and treatment. Methods Nine cases of congenital granular cell tumors who visited the Children's Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine from February 2008 to March 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. Herein, its clinical characteristics, pathological characteristics, treatment, and prognosis were summarized and analyzed. Results We found that nine patients were all female, aged 1-38 days when they saw the doctor. Three of them were attached in maxillary and the other six were attached in mandible. Meanwhile, six tumors were found during the mother's pregnancy at 28-39 weeks and three tumors were found at the baby's birth. One case was excised surgically under local anesthesia, and the other cases were excised surgically under general anesthesia. After 1 month to 12 years of follow-up, patients have no recurrence, however, two cases emerged new teeth from the tumor resection site. Histopathology of all excised lesions was congenital granular cell lesion. Conclusion Congenital granular cell tumor is a benign tumor and the prognosis is good. Therefore, surgical resection of the tumor can be done without extensive resection, and it generally does not relapse. Thus, ultrasonography during pregnancy is an important method for the early detection of congenital granular cell epulis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The stochastic bifurcations in a Duffing system driven by additive dichotomous noises were investigated. Firstly, the transition probability of the dichotomous noise states was deduced according to its statistical properties and then the dichotomous noise was simulated numerically. Secondly, the stationary joint probability density of the system displacement and speed and the stationary probability density of the displacement were calculated with the 4th-or-der Runge-Kutta algorithm. Then, through the study of the variation between unimodality and bimodality of the stationary probability density of the system displacement, it is found that specific states and certain intensity values of the additive dichotomous noise may induce stochastic bifurcations. This article briefly summarized research-oriented practice teaching ideas, construction and implementations of the nearly five years ' teaching system at the School of Agriculture and Biology of Shanghai Jiao Tong University ( SJTU ). The authors started by arousing and cultivating students ' interest in studying agricultural science when considering top-level design of practical teaching system and cultivated students ' innovative spirit by launching entrepreneurship pulpit, freshman seminar, and advanced research platform in a comprehensive university surrounding. Furthermore, the authors initiated the teaching methods of putting teaching into research, promoted science research through teaching, enriched teaching contents through research results, and encouraged teachers to transfer research results into practice programs. Up to now, 20 specialized experimental projcts have been listed in the educational reform projects of SJTU and applied into students' practical skiils as well. Besides thesis projects, teachers' research facilities have supported 312 innovative projects, with 670 students' participation. And meanwhile utilized verified experiments to make students truly believe science when designing curriculum system. By establishing comprehensive and open experiments to develop students ' exploring ability, for the moment the class hours of comprehensive experiments and self-designed experiments in the School of Agriculture and Biology account for 78% of afl experimental time. Objective To explore the relationship of high mobility group box-1 protein (HMGB1) and endogenous secretory receptor for advanced glycation end products (esRAGE) with carotid atherosclerosis (AS) in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Methods We recruited 198 hospitalized patients as the patient group. Based on the presence of T2DM and carotid ultrasonography test results, the patients were divided into AS (72 cases), T2DM (56 cases) and T2DM+AS (70 cases) groups; 46 healthy subjects were selected as the normal control group. Serum levels of HMGB1 and esRAGE were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results HMGB1 level was significantly higher (P<0.05) and esRAGE level was lower (P<0.01) in T2DM+AS group than in the other 3 groups. There was a negative correlation between HMGB1 and esRAGE in T2DM with carotid AS (r=-0.317, P=0.002). Logistic regression analysis indicated that HMGB1 and esRAGE levels were independently associated with carotid AS in T2DM (OR=1.202, P=0.021, 95% CI 1.028-1.406; OR=0.301, P=0.046, 95% CI 0.004-0.848). Conclusion Increased HMGB1 and decreased esRAGE level in the peripheral circulation may be involved in the pathogenesis and progression of AS in T2DM. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To explore the causal complexity between individual digital literacy and innovative behaviors by focusing on medical students, and to provide scientific references for empowering their innovative behaviors., Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted to collect relevant data from students currently enrolled in a medical school in Anhui Province. Fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) was performed to examine the different combination paths for empowering innovative behaviors in medical students., Results: A total of 922 valid questionnaires were collected. Based on six conditional variables of digital literacy, namely information and data literacy, communication and collaboration literacy, digital content creation literacy, security literacy, problem solving literacy, and career-related literacy, there were five configurations for high-level innovation behaviors of medical students, with the overall consistency being 0.816 and the overall coverage being 0.664. On the other hand, there were three configurations for their low-level innovation behaviors, with the overall consistency being 0.901 and the total coverage being 0.585., Conclusion: There is a causal complexity between medical students' digital literacy and their innovative behaviors. Different dimensions of digital literacy act synergistically to produce multiple paths to empower medical students' innovative behaviors. The qualitative, quantitative, and localization analysis of hearing loss is one of the important contents of forensic clinical research and identification. Pure-tone audiometry is the "gold standard" for hearing loss assessment, but it is affected by the subjective cooperation of the assessed person. Due to the complexity of the auditory pathway and the diversity of hearing loss, the assessment of hearing loss requires the combination of various subjective and objective audiometric techniques, along with comprehensive evaluation based on the case situation, clinical symptoms, and other examinations to ensure the scientificity, accuracy and reliability of forensic hearing impairment assessment. Objective audiometry includes acoustic impedance, otoacoustic emission, and various auditory evoked potentials. The frequency-specific auditory brainstem response (ABR), 40 Hz auditory event related potential, and auditory steady-state response are commonly used for objective hearing threshold assessment. The combined application of acoustic impedance, otoacoustic emission and ABR can be used to locate hearing loss and determine whether it is located in the middle ear, cochlea, or posterior cochlea. This article reviews the application value of objective audiometry techniques in hearing threshold assessment and hearing loss localization, aiming to provide reference for forensic identification of hearing loss.

Lung cancer is the malignant tumor with the highest morbidity and mortality in China. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the main pathological subtype of lung cancer. On April 13, 2023, the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) released the third edition of the 2023 NCCN Oncology Clinical Practice Guidelines: Non-small Cell Lung Cancer, which reflects the latest advances in international lung cancer research. This article will interpret the main updated contents of the new edition of the guidelines, and compare it with the third edition of the NCCN guidelines in 2022, so as to provide references about the diagnosis and treatment of NSCLC for clinical medical personnel in China.

Objective: To explore the clinical and genetic characteristics of a Chinese pedigree affected with hereditary dentinogenesis imperfecta (DGI) type II., Methods: Clinical data of the pedigree members were collected. Genomic DNA was extracted from peripheral blood samples and subjected to whole exome sequencing., Results: Clinical characteristics of the affected family members have included amber teeth along with significant attrition, constricted roots and dentine hypertrophy leading to pulpal obliteration, which were suggestive of DGI type II. All of the affected members were found to have harbored a novel heterozygous c.2837delA (p.Asp946Valfs*368) variant of the DSPP gene which was predicted to be likely pathogenic., Conclusion: The c.2837delA variant of the DSPP gene probably underlay the disease in this pedigree. Above finding has expanded the variant spectrum of DSPP gene and provided a basis for molecular diagnosis and genetic counseling for this pedigree.

Focusing on the undergraduate specialty construction of big data management and application in medical colleges and universities in the context of New Medical Education, we first analyzed, in this paper, the demand for trained personnel of this specialization and the status of program construction at the national and regional levels. Then, taking Anhui Medical University as an example, a key medical university in Anhui Province, we introduced the preparations made by medical colleges and universities to set up big data management and application specialty. Finally, from the perspectives of the objectives of personnel training, curriculum system, and practical teaching system, we presented in detail the exploratory efforts made by Anhui Medical University to construct a training system for personnel specializing in big data management and application. In this paper, we reported mainly the work done on the exploration of the personnel training curriculum system, covering general education, professional education, and extracurricular activities, highlighting the interdisciplinary characteristics of a personnel training curricular system that integrates medicine, engineering, and management. We also reported on a practice teaching system that combined in-class practical teaching and extracurricular activities, and that incorporated tiered contents of increasing challenge--basic practice level, cognitive practice level, comprehensive practice level, and innovative practice level. Hemophilic pseudotumor is a rare but serious complication that occurs less frequently in the jaw, and it may lead to bleed uncontrollably and even death. This paper reported a case of hemophilic pseudotumor with extensive osteo-destruction in the right mandible, treated by factor Ⅷ replacement and with no recurrence after 10 years of follow-up.

Lung volume reduction loop uses bronchoscopic lung volume reduction(BLVR) technology to compress and collapse the necrotic emphysema tissue and exhaust the internal gas to achieve the purpose of lung volume reduction to treat emphysema. After the lung volume reduction loop is implanted into the human body, the compressed part of the lung tissue tends to expand with breathing, which makes the lung volume reduction loop expand into a linear trend periodically. Fatigue resistance is one of the most important performance indexes of the lung volume reduction loop. In the paper, Z-direction vibration fatigue machine was used to simulate the changes of human respiratory cycle movement to test the fatigue performance of lung volume reduction loop, which can provide some reference for the test method of in vitro fatigue performance of lung volume reduction related products in the future.

Objective: To explore the genetic and clinical characteristics of near-tetraploidy/tetraploidy karyotype (NT/T) in patients with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS)., Methods: Cytogenetic findings of 1576 inpatients with primary MDS were retrospective analyzed, among which 9 were diagnosed with NT/T. Clinical data including gender, age, morphology, genetic feature and prognosis were analyzed., Results: The prevalence of MDS patients with NT/T (NT/T-MDS) among all cases was 0.57%. Karyotyping analysis suggested that eight MDS patients had sole NT/T, while the remainder one had a complex karyotype. In addition to the typical morphology of MDS, NT/T-MDS had unique morphology including huge blast, double-nuclear cell and irregular nuclear membrane. One NT/T-MDS patient gave up therapy, and the remaining eight underwent the first course of treatment, albeit with poor prognosis. Only one patient had complete remission, one had partial remission, three had no remission; and three had converted to acute myeloid leukemia., Conclusion: NT/T-MDS is rare and has unique morphology. Generally, NT/T-MDS patients have poor prognosis. However, NT/T cannot be simply classified as high-risk group, but with consideration whether they have affected particular chromosomal structures as well as other clinical data.

Objective: To investigate the morbidity of congenital heart defects(CHDs) in children with anorectal malformation, and to summarize appropriate treatment., Methods: The clinical data and echocardiographic findings of 155 children with congenital anorectal malformations from the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University during January 2016 and October 2019 were reviewed. According to the surgical findings of anorectal malformations, the patients were categorized as the high/intermediate group and the low group; the CHDs were classified as minor CHDs and major CHDs. Multiple logistic regression was used to analyze the correlation of wingspread classification, and extracardiac malformations with the severity of CHDs., Results: Out of 155 children with anorectal malformations, 47 (30.3%) had different types of cardiac structural malformations, including 18 cases of minor CHDs (11.6%) and 29 cases of major CHDs (18.7%). Sixty children (38.7%) had extracardiac malformations, of which 38 cases (24.5%) had a single extracardiac malformation, 15 cases (9.7%) had multiple extracardiac malformations, 6 had trisomy 21 syndrome, and 1 had VATER syndrome. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that wingspread classification of anorectal malformation and extracardiac disorders were independent risk factors for major CHDs. The probability of major CHDs in children with high/intermediate anorectal malformation was 4.709 times higher than that with low anorectal malformation ( OR =4.709, 95% CI : 1.651-13.432, P <0.01). The probability of major CHDs was 3.85 times higher for increasing each additional grade of extracardiac malformations(without, with single, or multiple malformations) ( OR =3.850, 95% CI : 2.065-7.175, P <0.01). According to the presence and severity of CHDs, children with anorectal malformations were classified into three categories: without CHDs, with minor CHDs and with major CHDs, for differential treatment and management. Anorectal malformations would be treated and managed in children without CHDs and with minor CHDs following the original plan; however, children with minor CHDs may require cardiac follow-up after surgery. In children with major CHDs, the personalization tactics were developed based on the principle of emergency first. There were increased perioperative infection rate ( P <0.05), longer hospital days ( P <0.01), reduced cure rate ( P <0.05) and increased mortality ( P <0.05) in children with major, compared with those without CHDs and minor CHDs., Conclusions: The morbidity of major CHDs is higher in severe cases with high/intermediate anorectal malformation and acute cases without fistula or with obstructed fistula and cases with multiple congenital disorders. Echocardiography can define the type and severity of CHDs, which are useful to develop the optimal diagnosis and treatment plan for children with anorectal malformation.

Objective: To discuss the outcomes of ICSI in infertile patients with globozoospermia (GS), acephalic spermatozoa syndrome (ASS) or teratozoospermia with miniacrosome and irregular-headed sperm defect (TMRHS)., Methods: This retrospective study included 3 cases of GS, 3 cases of ASS and 2 cases of TMRHS undergoing ICSI. We analyzed the rates of fertilization, cleavage, blastocyst formation, implantation, clinical pregnancy and live birth in the three groups of patients., Results: The patients of the GS and ASS groups all achieved clinical pregnancies and healthy births, but those of the TMRHS group showed a lower fertilization rate than the other two groups and achieved no clinical pregnancy., Conclusions: ICSI could achieve successful clinical pregnancy in infertile patients with globozoospermia or acephalic spermatozoa syndrome, but no satisfactory clinical outcome in those with miniacrosome and irregular-headed sperm defect, though it has to be further proved by more studies with larger-sized samples.

Application of microalgae in wastewater treatment is regarded as a potential green technology. However, its engineering application has been largely hindered because of the difficulty of biomass separation and harvesting. This study aimed to identify the key parameters influencing the process of microalgae immobilization. To do this, the study focused on immobilization technology and Scenedesmus obliquus , and employed the response surface methodology (RSM) and the Box-Behnken design (BBD). In an evaluation of the performance of microalgae beads, the fixing agent concentration, the cross-linking agent concentration, and the cross-linking time were selected as the independent variables, and the mechanical strength, the mass transfer rate, and the growth rate of immobilized microalgae beads were the response values. The optimal conditions and the uptake potential of the microalgae beads with respect to ammonia nitrogen (NH 4 + -N) were further explored and analyzed. The results showed that the optimal parameters for the preparation of immobilized microalgae beads were 5%, 2%, and 16 h, and the maximum removal capacity was obtained using mixotrophic cultivation with an embedding density of 1×10 6 cells·mL -1 and an organic matter concentration of 300 mg·L -1 . In addition, the removal capacity of immobilized microalgae with respect to high concentrations of NH 4 + -N was significantly higher than for free-living microalgae. When the initial concentrations of NH 4 + -N were approximately 50 and 70 mg·L -1 , NH 4 + -N was removed by the immobilized microalgae (after a 5-day mixotrophic cultivation) at a rate of (96.6±0.1)% and (65.2±4.5)%, respectively. With an initial NH 4 + -N concentration of 30 mg·L -1 , the dominance of free-living microalgae was clear, with a removal rate of (97.8±0.6)% after a 3-day cultivation. However, under heterotrophic cultivation, the removal rate of NH 4 + -N by immobilized microalgae was generally low and gradually decreased with increasing concentrations. When the initial concentration was approximately 30 mg·L -1 , the removal rate was only (49.0±3.1)%. This study provides new prospects for sustainable urban wastewater treatment, a new approach for resource recycling, and a strong theoretical foundation for the popularization and application of microalgae in wastewater treatment.

Objective: To analyze the correlation between the expressions of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and transient receptor potential canonical 6 (TRPC6) and their role in podocyte injury in rats with diabetic nephropathy., Methods: Forty SD rats with diabetic nephropathy induced by intraperitoneal injection of 65 mg/kg streptozotocin were randomized equally into 5 groups, including a diabetic nephropathy model group and 4 treatment groups, with 8 normal SD rats as the normal control group. In the 4 treatment groups, the rats received intraperitoneal injections with SU5416 at 5 mg/kg or 10 mg/kg twice a week or with LY294002 at 1 mg/kg or 2 mg/kg once daily for 8 weeks. Blood glucose, serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, and 24-h urinary protein levels of the rats were detected at different time points, and the pathologies in the renal tissue were observed using HE staining, PAS staining and immunohistochemistry. The expressions of VEGF, nephrin, and TRPC6 at mRNA and protein levels were detected using RT-PCR and Western blotting., Results: Compared with normal control rats, the diabetic rats showed significantly increased fasting blood glucose, serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen and 24-h urinary protein levels with decreased expressions of nephrin mRNA and protein (P<0.05) and increased expressions of VEGF and TRPC6 (P<0.05). Compared with the untreated diabetic rats, the rats with SU5416 treatment showed increased 24-h urinary protein, urea nitrogen, and nephrin expression and decreased TRPC6 expression without significant changes in fasting blood glucose, serum creatinine, or VEGF expression. The rats treated with LY294002 showed decreased 24-h urinary protein and TRPC6 expression without significant changes in fasting blood glucose, serum creatinine, urea nitrogen, or expressions of nephrin and VEGF., Conclusion: The regulatory effect of VEGF on TRPC6 can be blocked by inhibiting VEGFR-2 or blocking PI3K/Akt signaling pathway.

Purpose: To investigate the sealing ability of biological root canal sealer iRoot SP in over-root canal filling. METHODS：After completion of root canal preparation, 48 extracted human single-canal teeth were used. The ratio of mesio-distal root canal diameter to bucco-lingual diameter was less than 0.5. The teeth were randomly divided into group A, B and C. The root canals were obturated with root canal filling agent (group A), AH Plus (group B) and iRoot SP (group C), respectively; the apical leakage was evaluated by dye penetration method and transparent teeth technique. The data were analyzed using SPSS 19.0 software package., Results: The depth of dye penetration in group A was significantly higher than that in group B and C (P<0.05); there was no significant difference in the depth of dye penetration between group B and group C (P>0.05)., Conclusions: The apical sealing ability of iRoot SP is equivalent to AH Plus in oval-root canal, both are better than that of root canal filling agent．.

Objective: To analyze the fatty acids in human milk, bovine milk and powdered formulas with the change of lactation period and suitable object., Methods: A total of 50 human milk samples of healthy maternal, 35 Holstein milk samples and 30 formula samples were selected. The fatty acids in different samples were tested by gas chromatography., Results: 28 fatty acids were detected in powdered formulas, 30 fatty acids were detected in bovine milk and 27 fatty acids were detected in human milk. The proportions of palmitic acid, oleic acid and linoleic acid were at a high proportion in all powdered formulas samples. The most common type of human milk fatty acids were oleic acid, linoleic acid and palmitic acid. The proportion of γ-linolenic acid and linoleic acid in bovine milk samples decreased, the proportion of arachidonic acid was significantly higher, and palmitic acid, gadoleic acid, cis-13-docosenoic acid and erucylacetic acid decreased with the change of lactation period. Linoleic acid, arachidonic acid, α-linoleic acid and docosahexenoic acid decreased significantly with change of suitable object., Conclusion: The production of powdered formulas must refer to fatty acids in human milk composition rationally, focus on adjusting the content of linoleic acid, linolenic acid, docosahexenoic acid and arachidonic acid in order to promote the best nutrition supply.
