AgInS2 quantum dots are an interesting material with a near-infrared band gap ranging from 1.87 to 1.98 eV. As a direct band gap semiconductor, it can adjust the band gap by adjusting the Ag/In ratio, and it also has a wide PL peak and a large Stokes shift. At the same time, the characteristics of low toxicity and environmental protection also make it an ideal material to replace binary quantum dots containing heavy metal elements such as Cd, Hg and Pb, and has a wide application prospect in the field of optoelectronic devices, especially in light emitting diodes. In this paper, the crystal structure and luminescence mechanism of AgInS2 quantum dots are described in detial, the characteristics of synthesis methods are summarized, and the strategies of regulating AgInS 2 quantum dots by shell engineering and doping methods are reviewed. In order to evaluate the environmental risk of heavy metals in fly ash during the co-processing of pharmaceutical residues in coal-fired boilers, the distribution and leaching characteristics of heavy metals in fly ash with different particle sizes were investigated. The results showed that the distribution rates of Pb and Zn in the overall fly ash all reached more than 95%, and the distribution rates of Cd, Cu and As in the overall fly ash all reached more than 75%, while the distribution rate of Mn in the overall fly ash was only 40%. Along the flue gas flow, the median particle size of the fly ash captured by different electric fields of the dust collector gradually decreased, and the surface of the fly ash particles was smoother. With the decrease of the fly ash particle size, the mass fraction of Pb, Zn, Cd and Cu in the fly ash gradually increased, while the mass fraction of As gradually decreased. The mass fraction of Mn in the fly ash of different particle sizes fluctuated above and below 300 mg/kg. The leaching concentration of Pb, Cd and Cu gradually increased as the particle size of fly ash decreased. The median particle size of fly ash decreased from 20.2 μm to 5.0 μm, and the leaching concentration of Zn increased by 687%, the environmental risk increases sharply; the leaching concentration of As in different particle sizes of fly ash is less than 0.05 μg/L, and the leaching concentration of Mn is less than 0.01 μg/L. In the process of co-processing of pharmaceutical residues, the environmental risk of Pb, Zn, Cd, Cu, Mn gradually increases as the particle size of fly ash decreases, but the environmental risk of heavy metals in different particle sizes of fly ash samples in this test meets the environmental requirements. The Science and Technology Innovation Project of Black Soil Conservation and Utilization (Black Soil Granary) is a Strategic Priority Research Program of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), it is the core measure of the "Science and Technology (Sci-Tech) Campaign for Black Soil Granary" launched by CAS together with provinces and autonomous region of Northeast China, and also the core measures to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's series guiding principle relating to well utilize and protect the black soil in Northeast China. Better utilization and protection of black soil is crucially important to the national food security, and the program of Black Soil Granary aims to solve the key major scientific problems for black soil. According to the principles of question-oriented, led by innovation, and promoted by demonstration, the program will conduct key technological breakthroughs and demonstrating mature technologies following the specification of "purposeful, assessable, applicable, influential, popularizable, and continuable". It is expected that, through the implementation of the Black Soil Granary program, Chinese Academy of Sciences can provide systematic resolutions for the better utilization and protection of black soil, and support national food security and modern agriculture development. Objective: This study investigated the clinical indications, prevention and management of common complications of TORS resection of parapharyngeal space tumors. Methods: The clinical data of 23 patients with parapharyngeal space tumors treated with TORS in the Eye & ENT Hospital of Fudan University from July 2020 to February 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. The surgical methods were divided into simple TORS surgery and TORS combined endoscopic or cervical surgery. The surgical incision can be directly sutured or partially sutured. If the surgical cavity is below the oropharyngeal plane and there is a risk of airway compression, preventive tracheotomy would be performed. No drainage（15 cases） or transnasal negative pressure drainage tube（8 cases） was placed in the operation cavity. In 17 cases, tumors were located between the top of nasopharynx and the lower boundary of oropharynx and these patients underwent simple TORS surgery; one case received combined cervical and endoscopic surgery, as the tumor was located near the skull base with unclear boundary with the deep lobe of parotid gland; five cases underwent combined endoscopic surgery, as the tumor reached the upper part of the nasopharynx or the outer part of the parapharyngeal space. Results: One case underwent emergency hemostasis for postoperative bleeding, and three cases underwent puncture and drainage for postoperative effusion. No complication occurred such as postoperative infection and airway obstruction. The healing grade of surgical incision and surgical cavity in transnasal drainage group was significantly better than that in non-drainage group. Conclusion: TORS operation is a safe and minimally invasive method in treating parapharyngeal space tumors with appropriate size and location. Postoperative effusion is a common complication after TORS. Objective: To investigate the independent prognostic risk factors and the application of different postoperative adjuvant treatment strategies on patients with T3-T4 hypopharyngeal carcinoma. Methods: Based on the inclusion criteria, we conducted a retrospective study that analyzed the clinical data of 229 cases who underwent surgery at the Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital of Fudan University from 2003 to 2015. Risk factors for postoperative survival were analyzed by univariate and multivariate analysis and patients were stratified according to the independent risk factors. The efficacy of various postoperative adjuvant therapystrategies were compared in different risk groups. Results: Two hundred and twenty-nine patients with T3-T4 primary tumor had 3-year and 5-year overall survival rates of 39.07% and 29.03%, respectively; 3-year and 5-year recurrence-free survival rates were 40.22% and 30.29%, respectively. The results of multivariate analysis demonstrated that tumors in the posterior pharyngeal wall and posterior cricoid region, N2c-N3, lymphovascular invasion, and extranodal extension were independent risk factors. The utility of postoperative adjuvant therapy significantly improved postoperative survival in the high-risk group （ P <0.05） and reduced postoperative recurrence significantly （ P <0.01）. Patients received adjuvant chemoradiation had better survival than those received adjuvant radiation alone （ P <0.05）. Postoperative adjuvant therapy had no significant effect on postoperative survival of patients in the low-risk group. Conclusion: Independent risk factors for patients with T3-T4 hypopharyngeal carcinoma include tumors in the posterior pharyngeal wall and posterior cricoid region, N2c-N3, lymphovascular invasion, as well as extranodal extension. Postoperative adjuvant therapy, especially adjuvant chemoradiation,is recommended for patient with risk factors mentioned above. Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the predicting role of tumor volume as evaluated by postoperative pathologic examination on overall survival（OS） and disease free survival（DFS） in patients with local advanced glottic carcinoma. Methods: In this study, the records of 406 consecutive patients with local advanced glottic carcinoma（T3-T4 stages） who underwent surgery ± chemoradiotherapy from January 2005 to December 2010 were retrospectively reviewed and followed up. The demographic characteristics, disease staging, and pathologic tumor volume were analyzed. The optimal cutoff values of tumor volume for OS and DFS were obtained by using receiver operating characteristic（ROC） curves. The association of tumor volume with T stages were assessed by using Logistic regression model, and the relationship between tumor volume and OS and DFS rates were evaluated by using Cox regression models. Results: The 5-and 10-year OS rates were 62.9% and 55.4%, respectively. The 5-and 10-year DFS rates were 55.5% and 50.8%, respectively. The mean tumor volume was（5.1±6.7） cm³, T4 stage patients had higher tumor volume than those of patients with T3 stage（ P <0.001）. The factor of tumor volume was correlated with T stages by using Logistic regression analyses（ OR =13.81, 95% CI : 6.03-31.59, P <0.001）. The optimal cutoff values of tumor volume that were both at 3 cm³ for OS and DFS rates were obtained by using ROC curve plots. The OS and DFS rates of glottic carcinoma patients with tumor volume ≤ 3 cm³ were better when compared with those of patients with tumor volume>3 cm³（ P <0.001）. Upon multivariate analyses, tumor volume was strongly correlated with poorer OS and DFS rates and remained independent prognostic factors for both the OS and DFS of patients with glottic carcinoma（OS: HR =1.59, 95% CI : 1.09-2.32, P ＝0.017; DFS: HR =1.54, 95% CI : 1.08-2.20, P =0.016）. Objective: To investigate the value of indirect CT lymphography (CT-LG) combined with nanocarbon tracer suspension staining in the sentinel lymph node (SLN) detection of rabbit tongue (cancer)., Method: Eight rabbits were divided into two groups, i. e. normal control group (6 rabbits) and VX2 tongue carcinoma group (2 rabbits). Pre-contrast CT images were taken for all rabbits. The mixture of iohexol and nanocarbon tracer suspension (iohexol 0.25 ml and nanocarbon tracer 0.25 ml, respectively, volume ratio = 1:1) was used as contrast agent of indirect CT-LG. Indirect CT-LG was performed as the contrast agent was injection into right ventrolateral submucosa of the tongues. CT images were acquired at 1, 5, 10 and 15 min after injection., Result: There were no cervical lymph nodes clearly identified in any group on the pre-contrast CT images. After the contrast agent injection, indirect CT-LG showed an ipsilateral SLN with rapid enhancement which was the only enhanced SLN, located lateral to the larynx-trachea region in all rabbits of VX2 control group and carcinoma group. The CT attenuation values of SLN were (58.80 ± 5.45) HU, (134.80 ± 28.92) HU, (91.00 ± 13.08) HU and (63.80 ± 4.32) HU at 1, 5, 10 and 15 minutes after indirect CT-LG. After the cervical anatomy guided by CT scan, all of the right deep SLN showed a distinct enrichment of black dye highly consistent with the locations on the indirect CT-LG images., Conclusion: It is more accurate for sentinel lymph node detection by indirect CT lymphography combined with nanocarbon tracer staining.

Whether the sentinel lymph node (SLN) metastasis has important clinical significance for the therapy and prognosis of tumor. Sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) has became the most accurate clinical method to confirm the status of sentinel lymph node. And the key of the success of SLNB is the localization of SLN. The methods used to locate SLN mainly are blue dye tracer method, radionuclide tracer technique, blue dye tracer method combined with radionuclide tracer technique, indirect lymphography, NIR imaging, and photoacoustic imaging. This article demonstrates the principle, application method and contrast agents of the indirect lymphography and the application in head and neck tumor.

Objective: To study the expression level of folate receptor α (FR-α) in glioma tissue and its clinical significance., Methods: Forty-eight human glioma specimens were collected from patients who underwent surgery from March 2012 to March 2013. These specimens were as follows:12 cases of glioblastoma (WHO IV), 6 cases of astrocytoma of each malignancy grade(WHO II, III), 6 cases of oligodendroastrocytoma of each malignancy grade (WHO II, III), 6 cases of oligodendroglioma of each malignancy grade (WHO II, III ). In addition, 6 cases of normal brain tissue resected from brain traumatic patients were taken as negative control, and one case of placental tissue (had got the consent of the parents and their families) was taken as positive control. The expression level of FR-α in tumor tissues was evaluated by Western blot analysis. The results of Western blot analysis were analyzed by t-test. The expression level of FR-α and Ki-67 in tumor tissues was evaluated immunohistochemistry, the results were analyzed by Kruskal-Wallis test and Nemenyi test. The correlation between the expression level of FR-α and cell proliferation index Ki-67 was analyzed by Pearson correlation analysis., Results: Western blot analysis showed that the FR-α was not expressed in normal brain tissue and oligodendroglioma tissue, but highly expressed in astrocytoma, oligodendroastrocytoma and gliomablastoma. The expression level in WHO III astrocytoma was significantly higher than in WHO II (t = 4.497, P < 0.05). FR-α was also highly expressed in oligodendroastrocytoma and its expression level in WHO III was also significantly higher than in the WHO II (t = 2.876, P < 0.05). Foremore, immunohistochemistry analysis also showed that FR-α was not expressed in oligodendroglioma, but expressed in astrocytoma, oligodendroastrocytoma and gliomablastoma. The positive rate of FR-α of WHO III was significantly higher than the WHO II astrocytoma(57.8% ± 2.2% vs. 45.7% ± 2.3%,χ(2) = 3.871, P = 0.034). In oligodendroastrocytoma, the positive rate of FR-α of WHO III was significantly higher than the WHO II(56.5% ± 5.4% vs. 37.1% ± 5.2%,χ(2) = 4.454, P = 0.021). Moreover, the expression level of FR-α in gliomablastoma was highest in all histological types of gliomas, the positive rate of FR-α was up to 65.0% ± 4.5%. Pearson correlation analysis showed that the positive rate of FR-α was positively correlated with Ki-67 index (r = 0.903, P < 0.05)., Conclusions: FR-α is expressed in astrocytoma, oligodendroastrocytoma and glioblastoma, and the expression level of FR-α is positively correlated with malignancy grade and Ki-67 index. Therefore, FR-α may be applied as a special target for diagnosis and treatment of glioma.

A high performance liquid chromatographic method was developed for the simultaneous determination of eight derivatives of propranolol. Cassette dosing method was used in the epithelium side of cornea in vitro to get the effect of penetrant, and the perfusate was collected in the side of endothelium. The protein in the sample was precipitated and discarded by high speed centrifugation before injection. An Agilent Zorbax Extend column (150 mm x 3 mm, 5 microm) was used at 30 degrees C. The mobile phase system contained acetonitrile and 0.03% (v/v) phosphoric acid aqueous solution and the percentage of acetonitrile changed between 3% and 20% (v/v) in a linear gradient elution. The samples were detected by an ultraviolet (UV) detector at 205 nm. The results showed that the eight derivatives of propranolol were completely separated and determined in 31 min. The correlation coefficients were above 0.9970 and good linear relationships were obtained in the range of 0.2 (0.1)-40.0 micromol/L. Under the optimized conditions, the recoveries of the derivatives were in the range of 91.12%-105.73%. The intra-day relative standard deviations (RSDs) were in the range of 1.00%-11.63%, and the inter-day RSDs were in the range of 1.18%-18.58%. The sample showed stability under room temperature, freeze and three cycles of freeze-thaw conditions. This method is fast and accurate for the quantitative analysis of the derivatives of propranolol in transmembrane absorption such as cornea perfusion in vitro or transwell cell system.

Objective: To investigate the characteristic of cervical lymph node metastasis of pyriform sinus carcinoma., Method: One hundred and two pyriform sinus carcinoma patients who accepted treatments in the EENT Hospital of Fudan University from 1990 to 2006 were reviewed retrospectively. All of them did not have any treatment and received surgical treatment in our hospital. Stage was made according to the standard of International Union Against Cancer (UICC)in 1997. The distribution of cervical lymph node was confirmed by CT scanning and pathology., Result: The rates of lymph node metastasis were 16.7% , 59.4%, 70.8% and 63.6% for patients with T1 disease, T2, T3 and T4 (P <0.05), respectively, and 62.7% (64/102) for the whole patients. The bilateral metastasis rate were 2.70% (1/37), 12.5% (6/48) and 18.1% (2/11) for T2, T3 and T1, respectively (P <0.05). The occurrence of cervical lymph node metastasis was 3.87% in the level I , 33.55% in the level II, 30.97% in the level III, 25.16% in the level IV, 5.16% in the level V, 1.29% in the level VI (P <0.05). Fourteen patients with cN0 stage had modified neck dissection and 10 patients had lymph node metastasis (71.4%). The lymph node metastasis of cN0 and cN1 was all in the level II, level III and level IV. And cN2 and cN3 also had some in the level I, level V and level VI., Conclusion: T2, T3 and T4 all had high rates for lymph node metastasis while T3, T4 were easier for contralateral metastasis. T3, T4 and contralateral metastasis were easier to surpassing the lymph node envelope. The lymph node metastasis of cN0 and cN1 was all in the level II, level III and level IV. And cN2 and cN3 also had some in the level I, level V and level VI.

Objective: To discuss the clinical characteristics and the treatment of pleomorphic adenoma of nose and accessory nasal sinuses (NPA)., Method: Fifteen cases of NPA were treated, 2 cases underwent radical maxillary sinusotomy, 2 cases nasal polypectomy, 10 cases lateral rhinotomy and 1 case maxillectomy., Result: No recurrence occurred in 7 cases, recurrence occurred in 6 cases, planted recurrence occurred in 1 case, malignant evolution occurred in 1 cases (carcinosarcoma) after the first operation. The 6 cases of recurrence underwent an operation for the second time, 2 cases had no recurrence, 2 cases recurred again, 2 cases became malignant (one was adenoid cystic carcinoma, the other was squamous cell carcinoma). The case who was planted recurrence underwent radiotherapy with 60 Gy and died of failure to respond to medical treatment at last., Conclusion: The rate of recurrence and misdiagnosis is very high in NPA, this tumor can be malignant evolution easily after many operations. To get rid of focus completely, it is important to apply a wide range of surgical operation in the first operation, which is the key to treatment. Rapid sections-cutting for microscopic examination should be done during operation, biopsy must not be done before operation if a tumour of nose is suspected to be NPA. Prognosis of this tumour is mainly linked to recurrences in cases of incomplete resection and to possible metastasis, such as an eventual malignant evolution.
