BackgroundThe mental health problems of employees in administrative organs and public institutions are highly valued. However， there is a lack of understanding regarding the mental health status of employees in provincial and municipal administrative organs and public institutions in Qinghai region.ObjectiveTo analyze the anxiety and depression of employees in provincial and municipal administrative organs and public institutions in Qinghai region， so as to provide references for promoting their mental health and intervening in psychological problems.MethodsFrom October 23 to 28， 2022， a total of 3 096 employees in provincial and municipal administrative organs and public institutions in Qinghai region were enrolled using stratified cluster sampling technique， and were assessed using Self-rating Anxiety Scale （SAS） and Self-rating Depression Scale （SDS）.ResultsA total of 1797 （58.04%） employees in municipal and above administrative organs and public institutions in Qinghai region completed a valid questionnaire survey. Depressive symptoms were noted in 579 （32.22%）. SDS scores yielded statistical difference among the selected employees of different ethnicities， types of job positions and educational levels （F=9.074， 101.488， 4.477， P

ObjectiveTo understand the concentration levels of benzene， toluene and xylene in the workplaces of enterprises involved in benzene and benzene series in Jinshan District， and to provide the basis for the government to formulate key occupational disease prevention and control strategies.MethodsFrom 2016 to 2021， enterprises involved in benzene and benzene series were sampled individually， and the monitoring results of benzene and benzene series were statistically analyzed through workplace air sampling and laboratory detection.ResultsFrom 2016 to 2021， a total of 80 enterprises were monitored， and the total passing rate of individual monitoring was 87.50%， which decreased first and then increased. The difference was not statistically significant. A total of 387 individuals were sampled with a total passing rate of 95.61% and a detection rate of 73.38% （284 individuals）. The detection rates of benzene， toluene and xylene were 6.46%， 29.97% and 36.95%， respectively. The exceedance rates were 1.03%， 0.26% and 3.10%， respectively. Among the companies exceeding the standard， the metal products industry had the highest rate of exceedance （19.05%）. For individuals， those working in the printing and recording media reproduction industry had the highest rate of exceedance （10.26%）.ConclusionThe passing rate and detection rate of benzene and benzene series are relatively high in Jinshan District. The metal products industry and the printing and recording media reproduction industry have a higher exceedance rate of benzene and benzene series.

X-ray irradiation offers a promising avenue to expedite the green synthesis of nanoparticles with high efficiency, simplicity, and environmental friendliness. X-ray technologies, such as X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS), and synchrotron X-ray technologies are utilized to explore the structural evolution of nanoparticles. We summarize numerous studies concerning X-ray-induced synthesis of gold nanoparticles. Further, we discuss the nuclear growing mechanism—radiolysis and conventional wet synthesis—explored via in situ XAFS analysis. Lastly, we propose the improvement of radiolytic synthesis and the application of in situ XAFS.

BackgroundThe fluorescence anisotropy of intercalative dye plays important roles in nucleic acid analysis, the construction of fluorescent probes, and biosensing. However, there are few studies on the fluorescence anisotropy of intercalative dyes based on framework nucleic acids (FNA).PurposeThis study aims to use DNA tetrahedrons (TDN) as scaffold to build the fluorescence anisotropy probes of SYBR Green I, DAPI and DiYO-1.MethodsA series of TDN fluorescence anisotropy probes were constructed by precisely regulating the size of DNA tetrahedrons through DNA sequence design, characterizing DNA nanostructures by using synchrotron radiation small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS). The influence of TDN size on fluorescence anisotropy of SYBR Green I, DAPI and DiYO-1 was investigated by experiments.ResultsThe results show that the fluorescence anisotropy of probes increased with the increase of TDN size of SYBR Green I and DAPI, separately. For TDN/DiYO-1 probes, the fluorescence anisotropy decreases with the increase of TDN size as the edge length of TDN is between 7~20 bp, however, the fluorescence anisotropy increases as the edge length of TDN is bigger than 20 bp. After the dye interacted with the tetrahedron, the structure of DiYO-1 changes, resulting in the decrease of fluorescence anisotropy.ConclusionsTherefore, the fluorescence anisotropy of intercalators could be tuned by controlling the TDN size precisely. The fluorescence anisotropy probes based on FNA is expected to be an excellent probe.

Absrtact Aiming at the safety problem of the hydraulic keyless sleeve coupling caused by the increase of bearing power of a ship’s CPP,studied the interference installation of coupling sleeve-cone sleeve-tail shaft for transferring torque and thrust. Firstly,analyzed the composition and working principle of hydraulic non-key sleeve coupling,then studied the thick-wall cylinder theory of the coupling interference fit,according to the formula of the stress and deformation amount at a certain diameter of the thick-wall cylinder,calculated the interference amount of coupling sleeve cone surface and axial displacement of coupling sleeve when transferring 2. 8 times rated torque. Then,calculated the tangential stress and synthesized the principal stress at the mean diameter of the sleeve-in conical surface at 2. 8 times of the rated torque,checked the strength of the coupling. Then,according to the stipulation that the maximum compressive stress of the cone surface was not more than 0. 7 times the yield strength,calculated the maximum cone surface interference and the maximum hoop sleeve axial displacement. Then,studied the influence of the installation and measurement error of the coupling on the transmission capacity. Then,considered the interference loss caused by surface roughness,selected the design values of interference and axial displacement within the allowable range of the code. Finally,studied the technical of the interference fit of the coupling. The results show that the design interference value and hoop sleeve axial displacement meets the ship inspection regulation of transferring 2. 8 times rated torque,and the cone surface compressive stress does not exceed 0. 7 times yield strength of the material,which meet the application requirements,and the research results and installation technology can be used for reference by peers.

Objective To investigate the chemoresistance of human triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC) MDA-MB-468 cells induced by adriamycin(ADM) and the underlying mechanism. Methods MDA-MB-468 cells were treated with ADM at different concentrations for 24h, then MTT assay was used to detect the inhibitory rate of cell growth and the sensitivity of MDA-MB-468 cells to ADM. Immunofluorescence staining was used to detect the expression level of ABCG2 and Western blot was used to test the expression levels of phosphorylated Stat3(p-Stat3), cMyc and ABCG2. Results The sensitivity of MDA-MB-468/ADM to ADM was remarkably reduced and the expression of drug resistance protein ABCG2 was increased obviously in MDA-MB-468/ADM cells. In addition, the expressions of p-Stat3, cMyc and ABCG2 were much higher in MDA-MB-468/ADM cells than those in MDA-MB-468 cells. Interestingly, when the phosphorylation of Stat3 was inhibited by WP1066, the expressions of cMyc and ABCG2 were downregulated; furthermore, the sensitivity of MDA-MB-468/ADM cells to ADM was increased (P < 0.05). Conclusion ADM could induce the chemoresistance of human TNBC MDA-MB-468 cells through Stat3-cMyc signal pathway.

BackgroundHuman brain tissue is usually obtained by donating, and post-mortem delay (PMD) is one of the important factors affecting Golgi staining in human brain. However, currently there are relatively few studies on how PMD affects Golgi staining in human brain tissue.PurposeThis study aims to explore the changes in the morphology and structure of pyramidal neurons in the cerebral cortex of mice with PMD.MethodThe changes of human brain PMD were simulated by using mouse brain tissues placed in vitro for different times, and light microscope imaging data were obtained by Golgi staining and Nissl staining. At the same time, the synchrotron X-ray micro-CT imaging technology was used to realize neurons three-dimensional imaging visualization. The Sholl analysis was employed to study the Golgi-stained pyramidal neurons in the cerebral cortex.ResultsAnalysis results show that the completeness and complexity emerge a significant decreasing trend with the increase of PMD, and the statistical results of dendritic spines also show the same decrease trend. The three-dimensional neuron visualization results reconstructed by synchrotron radiation X-ray micro-CT technology confirm the above analysis results.ConclusionsThis study provides a research foundation for the establishment of Golgi staining method of human brain tissue and synchrotron radiation X-ray imaging.

In order to achieve home intelligence, this paper introduces an interactive system of intelligent cloud home based on CC3200 Wi-Fi microcontroller unit(MCU), WeChat official account and Ali cloud server. Users can not only control household equipment by WeChat official account remotely，but also get the status of sensors. The paper provides an overall design scheme and introduces the hardware component of system. It also gives the software design of CC3200 MCU, WeChat official account and Ali cloud server. Experiments results show that the proposed system runs steadily, has better user experiences，and has high application value.

Based on the ANSYS finite element software,the method of dividing the contact area of the four point contact ball bearing is proposed. Establish a uniform thin four point contact ball bearing 1/2 single rolling and ring and the bearing finite element model. Calculation and analysis of the grid cell size on contact characteristics of four point contact ball bearing accuracy influence and solve the bearing finite element model in the static radial force load distribution rules and obtained the thin-walled four point contact ball bearing,the more precise the elliptic contact area shape and four point connected contact state. Research shows that: for the calculation of the contact characteristics and the size of mesh generation approximate to 50 percent of the semi minor axis of the contact ellipse can get more precise results,for thin walled four point contact ball bearings,ball and the inner and outer rolling contact should force,the equivalent force and contact deformation and radial load is nonlinear ascending relationship,contact force and load distribution of the calculated results with the Hertz contact theory should be calculated values are in good agreement. The calculation results are more accurate to simulate the contact characteristics and load distribution of the thin wall four point contact ball bearing.

The dynamics equation of the four gears parallel drive system of shield machine cutter is established.The 3D model of the four gears parallel drive system is established by using the UG software.The dynamic process of the four gears parallel drive system is simulated by using the ADAMS software.Then the influence of meshing damping,meshing stiffness,backlash and distribution of driving gear on the load sharing are also analyzed.The research shows that the larger the difference between meshing stiffness and meshing damping is,the more uneven the load sharing is,when the driving load changes,backlash has a larger effect on the load balance,the different distributions of driving gear have rather a great impact on the stability of driven system.The results can provide theoretical basis for the design and manufacture of the four gears parallel drive system.

Objective To understand the living condition and influencing factors of HIV/AIDS patients who reported above 60 years old. Methods A retrospective cohort study was conducted to collect demographic characteristics, survival-related and influencing factors of HIV/AIDS patients above 60 years old from 2004 to 2019 in Jiangmen city. The cumulative survival rate and survival rate were analysed by life table, and the influencing factors were analysed by Cox regression model with independent variables and multivariables. Results The survival time of 796 cases were 0 to 12.61 years, the average was 2.22 years, median 1.21 years. At the end of the observation period, 297 cases were followed up, 32 cases were lost, 467 cases were death. Total mortality rate was 0.32/person year, the cumulative survival rate of 1 year, 5 years and 10 years was 52.67%, 30.33%, 18.40%. Univariate Cox analysis showed that male(RR=1.39, 95%C/=1.07-1.81), age of older(RR70-79=1.37, 95%C/= 1.13-1.67; RR≥80=1.80, 95%C/=1.31-2.47), and others transmission (RR=1.64, 95%C/=1.14-2.36) were at higher risk of death. Education status of senior and above (RR=0.65, 95%C/=0.44-0.98), commercial unmarried sex (RR=0.77, 95%C/= 0.61-0.97), initiative testing of HIV (RR=0.44, 95%C/=0.31-0.63), CD4 test regularly (RR=0.25, 95%C/=0.21-0.31), antiviral therapy(RR=0.23, 95%C/=0.19-0.28), high count of baseline CD4 cells(RR200-349=0.46, 95%C/=0.32-0.67; RR350-499= 0.43, 95%C/=0.26-0.70; RR≥500=0.57, 95%C/=0.37-0.90) could reduce the risk of death. Multivariate Cox analysis showed that antiviral therapy (RR=0.67,95%C/: 0.57-0.78), and high count of baseline CD4 cells (RR200-349=0.46,95%C/: 0.32-0.66, RR350-499=0.39,95%C/: 0.24-0.64, RR≥500=0.37,95%C/: 0.24-0.59) could reduce the risk of death. Conclusion Propaganda should be strengthened in older peoples in Jiangmen. Promotion of condom fit for olders should be adopted as well as the auxiliary supplies of sex. Early detection and treatment should be advocated as well as the CD4 test and antiviral therapy, which was aimed to improve the quality life of the elder HIV/AIDS peoples. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To explore the effect of Baduanjin exercise on the self-rated health of some special college students in China, and to provide theoretical reference and practical basis for popularizing Baduanjin and making it "enter the campus and be included in PE curriculum". By using the method of experiment and mathematical statistics, this paper takes 69 special college students who take Sports Health Care Course as the experimental objects in two universities, and adopts Self-rated Health Scale (SRHMSV110) to measure and analyze the physical health, mental health, social adaptation and the overall health level of the special college students before and after the experiment. Results: 1) Before the experiment, the experimental group and the control group in physical health, mental health, social adaptation and overall health scores were not statistically significant (P > 0.05). After the experiment, there were significant differences between the experimental group and the control group in physical health, mental health, social health and overall health (P<0.01), indicating that Baduanjin exercise improved the self-rated health level of the special college students in the experimental group; 2) After Baduanjin exercise, the scores of general health level and other dimensions of the students in the experimental group were higher than those before the experiment, and the difference test results were all P < 0.01. The control group before and after Baduanjin exercise overall health and its various dimensions score difference test results were P > 0.05, which further shows that Baduanjin exercise can improve the health level of special college students. Research conclusion: The mean self-rating scores of physical health, mental health, social adaptation and general health level of the special college students are significantly lower than that of the general college students, whose self-rated health status is general, especially the problems in the mental health self-rating are prominent. 8-week Baduanjin exercise of moderate intensity, 3 times per week, 40-60 minutes each time can significantly improve the level of special college students' health. Objective To investigate whether the visceral adiposity content is associated with impaired glucose regulation (IGR), independent of insulin resistance and hyperandrogenism in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Methods A total of 401 PCOS patients [177 patients with normal glucose tolerance (NGT), 224 patients with IGR] and 200 healthy women matched with age, body mass index, waist circumference and waist to hip ratio in the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism of Renji Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine from January 2015 to December 2017 were included. All subjects received 75 g oral glucose tolerance test. Insulin and sex hormone levels were measured by radioimmunoassay. Visceral adiposity content was determined by visceral adiposity index (VAI). Logistic regression was used to analyze the association between VAI and IGR. Results (1) The VAI level in PCOS patients with IGR group was higher than that in NGT group (3.7±2.6 vs 1.5±0.7, t=-11.019, P<0.05). (2) VAI was positively related with the homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), the glucose and insulin area under the curve (AUCglu and AUCins) (r=0.416, 0.542, 0.329, prevalence of IGR increased with VAI quartiles after adjustment for age, free androgen index and HOMA-IR in multivariate Logistic regression [the first quartile as a reference, the ORs of the second, third and fourth quartiles were 5.50 (95%CI: 1.15-10.47), 29.74(95%CI: 12.74-69.43) and 70.31(95%CI: 25.35-195.98), respectively; all P<0.05]. (4) The cut-off value of VAI in predicting the high risk of IGR was 1.94 (AUC= 0.890, 95%CI: 0.858-0.922, sensitivity=0.826, specificity=0.853, P<0.05). Conclusions High visceral adiposity content is independently and positively related with high risk of IGR in PCOS patients. VAI>1.94 can predict the increased risk of IGR in PCOS women. ObjectiveTo explore the possible mechanism of aerobic treadmill exercise in improving renal function in hyperuricemia (HUA) rats.MethodsA total of 24 male SD rats were randomly divided into the Control group, the Model group and the Exercise group according to the random number table method, with 8 rats in each group. The Control group was given 2 g/(kg·d) distilled water intragastric administration, the Model group and the Exercise group were given 2 g/(kg·d) oxonic aid potassium salt (OAPS) intragastric administration, continuous intragastric administration for 10 days. From the 11th day, the Control group was given distilled water intragastric administration every other day, and the Model group was given OAPS intragastric administration every other day to maintain high uric acid status, with a dose of 2 g/(kg·d). In both groups, diet and water were not restricted, exercise freely, without other intervention, lasted for three weeks. The Exercise group was given intragastric administration as same as the Model group, and was given aerobic treadmill training simultaneously, the speed was 12 m/min, 20 minutes a time, once a day, continuous training for six days and rest for one day, continuous training for three weeks. Hematoxylin-eosin (HE) was used to stain the renal histopathological section, and the microscope (×400) was used to observe the structural changes of renal tubules and glomerulus; the peroxidase method was used to detect the renal function indexes such as uric acid (UA), creatinine (Cre) and urea nitrogen (BUN); enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method was used to determine the contents of interleukin-1β (IL-1β) in serum and kidney tissues; Western blot was used to detect the expressions of Caspase-1, IL-1β and glucose transporter 9 (GLUT-9) in the kidney tissues.Results① Pathological examination results: there was not obvious pathological changes were observed in the kidney tissues of the Control group; in the Model group, the renal tissue capsule was incomplete, the glomerulus was deformed and atrophic, and the renal tubules were disordered; in the Exercise group, the number of inflammatory cell infiltration was significantly decreased, the renal tubular structure was relatively intact, and the pathological changes such as cytoplasmic vacuolation of renal tubular epithelial cells were significantly decreased. ② UA, Cre and BUN content of serum: compared with the Control group, UA, BUN and Cre content in serum of the Model group and Exercise group was significantly increased (PPPPPP

The First World Congress of Environmental History reveals the latest researches and the global situation in this field from which we understand our weakness in some degree. We, as China's researchers on environment history should take some steps to improve our researches in the new situation as following: Firstly, we should try to grasp the particularity of Chinese environment history from the universal process of the culture and nature's co -- evolution; Secondly, we should discover the values of our country's historical experiences and culture resources in environment to the world; lastly, we should propose our theories and research models by focusing on our native subjects to promote the position of our researches in the world while we learn from the Westerner's theories and methods. With the emergence of global biological and environmental issues in the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries, ecological environmental history has become widely recognized as a staple of international historical research. In China, thanks to the growing awareness in recent years of the idea of harmony between man and nature, environmental history has also seen rapid development as a pre-eminent branch of learning, and its numerous achievements have made it a new growth point. Our journal has always supported and initiated research on environmental history, so that we can learn from historical experience, promote inter-disciplinary studies, deepen our understanding of the relationship between man and nature, and promote sustainable development of humanity through academic means. At present, Chinese research on environmental history stands at a critical juncture in its development. Our era is crying out for the emergence of masters and masterpieces. With this in view, we set out to organize the forum of March 2009, in the hope of further advancing such studies. We believe that Chinese scholars will produce works that provide strategic and integrated insights and provide both high academic standards and realistic practical significance, thus making a contribution to our era and to humanity. A new investigation has been adopted to study Dragon Boat Festival customs, especially which of special diet and disease -- prevention by a social -- ecological perspective. There are several arguments as following: Firstly, the Dragon Boat Festival customs originated from the ancient concept of "Evil Month", and got rid of the threats to health caused by adverse environmental factors of the sweltering summer through various activities. Secondly, the "glutinous rice dumplings" as a symbolic food of the festival, may originated from the Southern dietary culture in a very early ancient time but without relations to the legends of symbol that "Yin and Yang is still wrapped" or to memory Qu Yuan, which are false hearsays. However, the spread of the legends demonstrated close interdependent relation between dietary customs and ecological environment in Chinese history. Lastly, there was a very complicated collection for the festival customs with an intrinsic cultural logic to avoid evils, remove fierce things, and to dispel poisonous substances and vaccination. All these customs reflect not only the remarkable impacts of ecological environment to human life, but also the ancient understanding of the environment and responding to the threats. "Objective To investigate the relationship between skeletal muscle mass index (SMI) and non-traumatic rotator cuff tear(RCT) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Methods The clinical data of 180 T2DM patients who were hospitalized in the Department of Endocrinology and Orthopedics, the Third People's Hospital of Jinzhong from June 2020 to December 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. According to the results of MRI and medical history, the patients were divided into T2DM+RCT group (n=80) and T2DM+ non-RCT group (n=100). The general data, body fat ratio, skeletal muscle mass, duration of diabetes, glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and other factors were compared between the two groups. Binary logistic regression was used to analyze the risk factors for non-traumatic RCT in T2DM patients. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to analyze the predictive value of various factors for non-traumatic RCT in T2DM patients. Results The proportion of female, body weight, body mass index(BMI), duration of diabetes, body fat ratio and HbA1c level in T2DM+RCT group were higher than those in T2DM+ non-RCT group (P< 0.05). The SMI was lower than that of the T2DM+ non-RCT group ［6.10 (5.50,7.18) kg/m2vs 5.40 (4.50,6.10) kg/m2,Z=4.443,P2, with a sensitivity of 48.80% and a specificity of 82.00%, and AUC=0.693 (95%CI: 0.614-0.771). The combination of SMI, BMI, duration of diabetes and HbA1c had the highest diagnostic value, with a sensitivity of 81.30% and a specificity of 91.00%, and AUC=0.926 (95%CI: 0.885-0.966). Conclusion There is a correlation between SMI and non-traumatic RCT in diabetic patients, which has a particular predictive value for non-traumatic RCT."

In order to investigate the effect of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens GSBa-1 on polyphenol synthesis and phenylpropanoid metabolism in Citrus medica L. var. sarcodactylis Swingle stored at normal temperature, C. medica L. var. sarcodactylis Swingle was soaked in a 1 × 108 CFU/mL suspension of B. amyloliquefaciens GSBa-1, taken out and air-dried before being stored at room temperature. The contents of total soluble solids (TSS) and titratable acids (TA), ethylene release, respiration intensity, 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging capacity, H2O2 concentration, polyphenol content and enzyme activities related to the phenylpropane metabolic pathway were measured. The results showed that treatment with GSBa-1 reduced ethylene release and respiratory intensity, inhibited peel color change and fruit softening, induced an increase in phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL) and cinnamate-4-hydroxylase (C4H) activities, rapidly promoted the synthesis of gallic acid and caffeic acid as representatives of phenolic acids, induced the accumulation of flavonoids and flavanols such as hesperidin, seroxin and diosmin, increased the contents of total phenols and total flavonoids, and improved DPPH radical scavenging capacity and H2O2 content and consequently fruit resistance. It can be concluded that B. amylolytic GSBa-1 can activate the phenylpropane metabolic pathway, and stimulate the synthesis and accumulation of polyphenols, thereby delaying post-ripening and senescence and improving storage quality of C. medica L. var. sarcodactylis Swingle.

Objective: To explore the risk factors of severe acute kidney injury (AKI) in septic patients, and to establish an hour-specific prediction model., Methods: Based on the information of septic patients in the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care- IV (MIMIC- IV) database, general information, comorbidities, vital signs, severity scoring system, laboratory indicators, invasive operations and medication use were recorded. The enrolled patients were randomized into a training set and a validation set according to a ratio of 7 : 3. AKI was diagnosed according to the guidelines of Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcome (KDIGO). Based on Lasso regression and Cox regression, the risk factors of severe AKI (AKI stage 2 and stage 3) in septic patients were analyzed and hour-specific prediction model were established. Consistency index (C-index), area under the receiver operator characteristic curve (AUC) and calibration curve were used to assess the predictive efficacy of the model., Results: A total of 20 551 septic patients were enrolled, including 14 385 patients in the training set and 6 166 patients in the validation set. Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that atrial fibrillation [hazard ratio (HR) = 1.266, 95% confidence interval (95%CI) was 1.150-1.393], heart failure (HR = 1.348, 95%CI was 1.217-1.493), respiratory failure (HR = 1.565, 95%CI was 1.428-1.715), heart rate (HR = 1.004, 95%CI was 1.002-1.007), mean arterial pressure (HR = 1.245, 95%CI was 1.126-1.377), lactic acid (HR = 1.051, 95%CI was 1.025-1.077), simplified acute physiology score II (SAPS II, HR = 1.019, 95%CI was 1.016-1.023), serum creatinine (HR = 1.171, 95%CI was 1.127-1.216), anion gap (HR = 1.024, 95%CI was 1.010-1.038), serum potassium (HR = 1.155, 95%CI was 1.079-1.236), white blood cell count (HR = 1.006, 95%CI was 1.003-1.009) and furosemide use (HR = 0.414, 95%CI was 0.368-0.467) were independently associated with severe AKI in septic patients (all P < 0.01). The above predictors were applied to construct an hour-specific prediction model for the occurrence of severe AKI in septic patients. The C-index of the prediction model was 0.723 and 0.735 in the training and validation sets, respectively. The AUC for the occurrence of severe AKI at 12, 24, and 48 hours were 0.795 (95%CI was 0.782-0.808), 0.792 (95%CI was 0.780-0.805), and 0.775 (95%CI was 0.762-0.788) in the training set, and the AUC were 0.803 (95%CI was 0.784-0.823), 0.791 (95%CI was 0.772-0.810), and 0.773 (95%CI was 0.752-0.793) in the validation set, respectively. The calibration curves of the two cohorts were in good agreement., Conclusions: The hour-specific prediction model effectively identifies high-risk septic patients for developing severe AKI within 48 hours, aiding clinicians in stratifying patients for early therapeutic interventions to improve outcomes.

Objective: To systematically evaluate the predictive value of neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in acute kidney injury (AKI)., Methods: All studies about the predictive effect of NLR on AKI were searched in the National Medical Library of the United States PubMed Database, the Embase database in the Netherlands, the Chinese Biology Medicine disc (CBMdisc) and the Chinese Evidence Based Medicine Cochrane Centre Database (CEBM/CCD). The data updated by October 2020, and regardless of language, region or whether blind method was used. Two authors independently extracted data and evaluated the quality of the studies. Data extracted from the studies were analyzed with RevMan 5.3 to assess the predictive value of NLR on AKI. A subgroup Meta-analysis was conducted to assess the predictive value of NLR on AKI according to different countries, different disease types (cardiovascular surgery, infectious diseases, other diseases including burns, cirrhosis, and emergency), and different sample sizes (≤ 300 cases and > 300 cases). The publication bias of included studies about the predictive effect of NLR on AKI were assessed by funnel plots., Results: A total of 11 studies were included in this Meta-analysis, including 4 997 patients, 1 308 patients in AKI group, and 3 689 patients in non-AKI group. The Meta-analysis results showed that: increased NLR had predictive value for the occurrence of AKI [mean difference (MD) = 2.73, 95% confidence interval (95%CI) was 1.78-3.68, P < 0.000 01]. Subgroup analysis showed that increased NLR had predictive value for the occurrence of AKI in patients from Southeast Asia (MD = 4.04, 95%CI was 1.09-6.99, P = 0.007) and Eurasia (MD = 2.51, 95%CI was 1.12-3.90, P = 0.000 4). Increased NLR had predictive value for the occurrence of AKI in patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery (MD = 0.77, 95%CI was 0.34-1.20, P = 0.000 4), infectious diseases (MD = 4.74, 95%CI was 1.51-7.96, P = 0.004) and other diseases (MD = 8.53, 95%CI was 6.26-10.80, P < 0.000 01). Increased NLR had predictive value for the occurrence of AKI in studies with a sample size of ≤ 300 cases (MD = 6.02, 95%CI was 4.90-7.14, P < 0.000 01) and > 300 cases (MD = 1.32, 95%CI was 0.61-2.03, P = 0.000 3). There was no significant publication bias in the included studies assessed by funnel plots., Conclusions: NLR is an important predictive tool for AKI.

Objective: To investigate the effect of interleukin-17A (IL-17A) on chemosensitivity of ovarian cancer cells to cisplatin (DDP) and explore the mechanism in light of autophagy regulation., Methods: Ovarian cancer SKOV3 cells cultured in vitro were treated with different concentrations of DDP (1-20 μg/mL). MTT assay was used to observe the changes in proliferation of the treated cells and the effect of treatment with 100 ng/mL IL-17A for 24 h on DDP-induced apoptosis of SKOV3 cells. We then examined the expression of IL-17A receptor (IL-17RA) in SKOV3 cells using flow cytometry. Annexin V-FITC/PI double staining was used to detect the cell apoptosis rate, and early apoptosis of the cells was detected with JC-1 assay. A neutralizing monoclonal antibody (mAb) against IL-17RA was used to block IL-17RA. We also observed the effects of IL-17RA silencing mediated by a siRNA targeting IL-17RA (siRNA-IL-17RA) and treatment with 3-methyladenine (3-MA) for inhibiting autophagy on DDP-induced apoptosis of SKOV3 cells. The expressions of apoptosis-related proteins (Bcl-2, Bax, and cleaved caspase-3) and autophagy-related proteins (P62 and Beclin-1) in the treated cells were detected using Western blotting., Results: DDP increased the expression of IL-17RA in ovarian cancer SKOV3 cells. Treatment with IL-17A significantly reduced the susceptibility of SKOV3 cells to cisplatin-induced apoptosis ( P < 0.05). DDP obviously augmented the expression of Beclin-1 and reduced the autophagy degradation substrate P62 protein in the cells ( P < 0.05). IL-17A/IL-17RA strongly enhanced the DDPinducted autophagy of the cells ( P < 0.05). Blocking autophagy with 3-MA significantly increased DDP- induced apoptosis of SKOV3 cells with IL-17RA silencing, lowered the expression of Bcl-2 and enhanced Bax expression in the cells ( P < 0.05)., Conclusions: IL-17A/IL-17RA can decrease chemosensitivity of SKOV3 cells to DDP by upregulating DDP-induced autophagy.

Objective: To explore the patient-ventilator interaction of neurally adjusted ventilatory assist (NAVA) in patients with severe neurological diseases., Methods: A prospective study was conducted. Sixteen severe neurological patients with tracheotomy admitted to neurosurgery intensive care unit (NSICU) of Yijishan Hospital of the First Affiliated Hospital of Wannan Medical College from September 2019 to February 2020 were enrolled. According to the random number table method, they were treated with pressure support ventilation (PSV) mode followed by NAVA mode or NAVA mode followed by PSV mode mechanical ventilation. Each mode was ventilated for 24 hours. The number of auto-triggering, ineffective trigger, double trigger, inspiratory trigger delay, premature cycling, late cycling, and patient-ventilator asynchronous time (inspiratory trigger delay time, premature cycling time, and late cycling time) within 1 minute were recorded every 8 hours for 3 minutes. The average number of asynchronies per minute, asynchrony index (AI), total AI, asynchrony time, arterial blood gas analysis, and coefficient variation (CV%) of respiratory mechanics parameters of each asynchrony type between the two modes were compared., Results: There were significant decrease in the number or AI of auto-triggering, ineffective trigger, inspiratory trigger delay, premature cycling, and late cycling with NAVA mode ventilation compared with PSV mode ventilation [auto-triggering times (times/min): 0.00 (0.00, 0.00) vs. 0.00 (0.00, 0.58), auto-triggering AI: 0.00 (0.00, 0.00) vs. 0.00 (0.00, 0.02), ineffective trigger times (times/min): 0.00 (0.00, 0.33) vs. 1.00 (0.33, 2.17), ineffective trigger AI: 0.00 (0.00, 0.02) vs. 0.05 (0.02, 0.09), inspiratory trigger delay times (times/min): 0.00 (0.00, 0.58) vs. 0.67 (0.33, 1.58), inspiratory trigger delay AI: 0.00 (0.00, 0.02) vs. 0.05 (0.02, 0.09), premature cycling times (times/min): 0.00 (0.00, 0.33) vs. 0.33 (0.08, 1.00), premature cycling AI: 0.00 (0.00, 0.01) vs. 0.02 (0.00, 0.05), late cycling times (times/min): 0.00 (0.00, 0.00) vs. 1.17 (0.00, 4.83), late cycling AI: 0.00 (0.00, 0.00) vs. 0.07 (0.00, 0.25), all P < 0.05]. But there was significant increase in the number or AI of double trigger with NAVA mode ventilation as compared with PSV mode ventilation [times (times/min): 1.00 (0.33, 2.00) vs. 0.00 (0.00, 0.00), AI: 0.04 (0.02, 0.11) vs. 0.00 (0.00, 0.00), both P < 0.05]. Total AI and incidence of total AI > 0.1 showed significant decrease during NAVA mode ventilation as compared with PSV mode ventilation [total AI: 0.08 (0.04, 0.14) vs. 0.22 (0.18, 0.46), incidence of total AI > 0.1: 37.50% (6/16) vs. 93.75% (15/16), both P < 0.01]. There was no significant difference in asynchronous time or arterial blood gas analysis between the two modes. There were significant increases in variances of peak airway pressure (Ppeak) and expiratory tidal volume (VTe) during NAVA mode ventilation as compared with PSV mode ventilation [Ppeak coefficient of variation (CV%): 11.25 (7.12, 15.17)% vs. 0.00 (0.00, 2.82)%, VTe CV%: (8.93±5.53)% vs. (4.71±2.61)%, both P < 0.05]., Conclusions: Compared with PSV mode, NAVA mode can reduce the occurrence of patient-ventilator asynchronous events, reduce the AI and the occurrence of serious patient-ventilator asynchronous events, so as to improve the patient-ventilator interaction. NAVA and PSV modes can achieve the same gas exchange effect. At the same time, NAVA mode has potential advantages in avoiding insufficient or excessive ventilation support, diaphragm protection and prevention of ventilator-induced lung injury.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs), including exosomes and microvesicles, are lipid bilayer-enclosed nanovesicles secreted by cells. These EVs are important mediators of intercellular communication by serving as vehicles for transfer of proteins, mRNA, miRNA and lipids between cells. Various visualization methods have been established to explore the characteristics of EVs and their role in physiological and pathological processes. The nanoscale size and high heterogeneity of EVs hamper the identification of their biological characteristics and functions. This review presents a comprehensive overview of EV imaging methods in light of the origin, separation and dynamic tracking of EVs, and the advantages and disadvantages of different imaging strategies are discussed. We believe that studies at the levels of single vesicles and single cells will become the frontier of future researches of EVs.

Objective: To analyze the characteristics of skeletal muscle cells gene markers in septic patients by using bioinformatics., Methods: The differential gene expression of marker microarrays (GSE13205) in skeletal muscle tissue of patients with sepsis was obtained from gene expression omnibus (GEO) database of National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). Gene differential expression analysis was carried out using online GEO2R provided by NCBI. Data processing, analysis and mapping were carried out using online bioinformatics array research tool (BART) and Cytoscpe software, the software of the national resource for network biology. Functional annotation and pathway analysis of differential expression genes were performed using Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes (KEGG) and gene ontology (GO) provided by the database for annotation, visualization and integrated discovery (DAVID), and protein interaction analysis was further performed in search tool for the retrieve of interacting genes/proteins (STRING-DB)., Results: The TOP250 genes were extracted from the GSE13205 dataset. A total of 242 differentially expressed genes were included in the analysis. Among them, 78 up-regulated genes and 164 down-regulated genes were identified. After extensive data analysis, these differentially expressed genes were enriched into different biological processes or subsets of molecular functions, mainly enriched in the positive and negative regulation of growth, mineral absorption and other pathways. The 14 most closely related genes among differentially expressed genes were identified from the protein interaction network., Conclusions: The differential expression genes in patients with sepsis were mainly concentrated on cell growth and apoptosis and mediating tumor-related immune function regulation.

To establish a method for measurement of the neutralizing activity of a monoclonal antibody against the rabies virus. Twenty-four rabies street virus-positive samples were isolated by the mouse inoculation test. Isolated rabies street viruses were cultured and the virus titer tested in N2A cells. We established a rabies street virus bank with viruses that could adapt to the growth of N2A cells with a high titer. Then repeatability was evaluated after three detections of the TRN006 monoclonal antibody. Of the 24 positive samples,15 strains of the virus could adapt to N2A cells and form fluorescent foci in cells.Finally,10 strains with a high titer were selected for the rabies street virus bank, which covered nine Provinces of China and four Chinese lineages. Three lineages were used for the neutralization test for the monoclonal antibody, and the Student’s t-test showed that it had good repeatability.

Objective: To compare cardiac adverse events, clinical outcomes and mid-and-long-term effects among massive and sub-massive pulmonary embolism (PE) patients under different periodswho received thrombus fragmentation by pigtail catheter., Methods: Two groups of patients who receivedthrombusfragmentation bypigtail catheter in different periods were analyzed retrospectively. Group E: 38 cases received therapy from July 2004 to October 2009 with local anesthesia; Group P: 64 cases with general anesthesia from March 2010 to December 2014. All patients were confirmedPEby CT and angiography. Parts of patients with deep vein thrombosis (DVT) received inferior vena cava filter placement 3 days later. The patients were followed up for 6-24 months after discharge. Cardiac adverse events, clinical outcomes during the thrombusfragmentation process, and mid-and-long-term effects were compared between the two groups., Results: There were no significant differences in preoperative clinical data betweenthe two groups (P>0.05). Compared with group E, clinical warning events were significantly improved in group P (odds ratio(OR): 1.24, 98.3, 1.45, 2.50; P<0.05). Within group P, there were significant differences inarterial oxygen partial pressure (PaO2) [(98.3±8.7)vs(81.3±7.1)], mean pulmonary artery pressure (mPAP) [(25.3±7.9)vs(37.2±7.6)], heart rate (HR) [(94.3±7)vs(122±9)], airway resistance [(16.7±1.6)vs (22.5±2.1)] and mean arterial pressure (MAP) [(53.4±7)vs(42.5±6)] before and after thrombus fragmentationtreatment (P<0.05). The incidence of congestive heart failure and pulmonary arterial hypertension associated with chronic pulmonary thromboembolism (CPEPH) during follow-up were significantly different between group P andgroup E (P<0.05)., Conclusion: Thrombus fragmentation by pigtail catheter with intraoperativeprecise management under general anesthesia can reduce cardiac adverse events andimprove the mid-and-long-term effects among PE patients.

Objective: To explore the exact mechanisms of programmed cell death (PCD) induced by Type II anti-CD20 mAb in CD20+ non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) cells, and to provide theoretical basis for anti-tumor ability of new CD20 mAb.
, Methods: After incubation with Rituximab (a Type I anti-CD20 mAb) and Tositumomab (a Type II anti-CD20 mAb), Raji cells were stained by annexin V & propidium iodide (PI). The ratio of programmed death cells were measured by two channel flow cytometry (FCM). Before the treatment of anti-CD20 mAbs, Raji cells was incubated with a caspase inhibitor carbobenzoxy-valyl-alanyl-aspartyl-[O-methyl]- fluoromethylketone (Z-VAD-FMK) and a dihydroceramide synthase inhibitor fumonisin B1 (FB1) for 30 minutes to assess their inhibitory effect on PCD. High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was utilized to compare the ratio of programmed death cells between the pretreatment group (treated by Rituximab and Tositumomab) and the non-pretreatment group. The anti-CD20 mAbs-treated Raji cells were collected, and the ceramide levels in the Raji cells in the different pretreatment groups were also examined by HPLC, and the inhibitory effect of FB1 on the changes of ceramide levels in the Raji cells was measured. The Raji cells were incubated with different concentration C2-ceramide, C2-Ceramide-induced PCD was also evaluated by annexin V & PI staining after 16 hours. 
, Results: Tositumomab (10 µg/mL) but not Rituximab (10 µg/mL) can induce significant PCD (28.6±4.2)% in Raji cells, with significant difference (t=26.48, P<0.01), which cannot be blocked by Z-VAD-FMK with a concentration range from 10 to 30 µmol/L (F=3.01, P>0.05). The cellular ceramide levels in Raji cells were significantly elevated after the treatment of Tositumomab (t=28.48, P<0.01). C2-ceramide can significantly induce PCD in Raji cells in a dose-dependent manner with a concentration range from 5 to 40 µmol/L (F=2.71, P>0.05). The dihydroceramide synthase inhibitor FB1 can significantly inhibit the elevated cellular ceramide levels (F=20.18, P<0.01) and cell programmed death induced by Tositumomab (F=17.02, P<0.01).
, Conclusion: Type II but not Type I anti-CD20 mAbs can induce caspase independent PCD in CD20+ NHL cells through the elevation of cellular ceramide levels. The PCD is not associated with classic caspase pathway.

Objective: To study the current situation of the prevention and treatment of silicosis in Jinshan District of Shanghai, China, and to provide a scientific basis for the introduction of preventive and control measures for the disease., Methods: An occupational hygienic investigation was carried out among enterprises exposed to silica dust hazard in Jinshan District using cross-sectional epidemiological study. Based on GBZ 159-2004 Specifications of air sampling for hazardous substances monitoring in the workplace and GBZ/T 192.1-2007 Method for determination of dust in the air of workplace Part 1: Total dust concentration, individual sampling and evaluation of test results were conducted among workers exposed to silica dust., Results: A total of 302 workers in 30 enterprises were exposed to silica dust, and the coverage of employment injury insurance and occupational health inspection rate were 98.3% and 92.4%, respectively. The equipment rate of anti-dust respirators of the enterprises was 56.7%, and the qualification rate of silica dust monitoring in work place was 40.4%. The enterprises exposed to silica dust were mainly those who were operated in dry condition and engaged in manual work using opening-type equipment without negative pressure., Conclusion: Enterprises exposed to silica dust in Jinshan District of Shanghai have safety hazards like poor production and protective equipment, incomplete protective articles, and low qualification rate of silica dust test in workplace, so occupational health protection measures need to be strengthened.

Intermittent exotropia is the most common type of exotropia, and also is one of the most difficult types of strabismus to deal with. Surgery is the main choice of treatment and non-surgical treatment is used only under certain indications. Long-term outcomes of the surgery for intermittent exotropia are related to many factors, such as age, course of the disease, perceptual state of visual cortex, timing of surgery, types of intermittent exotropia, the surgical methods, preoperative measurements of exodeviations, target angle of surgery, postoperative treatment of overcorrection or undercorrection, and so on. It is significant to pay attention to these issues to improve success rate of the surgeries. In this paper, recent progress of clinical studies of intermittent exotropia were reviewed to arouse the attentions of domestic ophthalmologist to the standardization of diagnosis and treatment of intermittent exotropia.

Objective: We characterized procaryotic biodiversity, community structure and the relationship between the community structure and environmental factors of salt lakes in Badain Jaran desert, Inner Mongolia, China., Methods: We constructed 16S rRNA gene clone libraries by molecular biology techniques to analyze the procaryotic phylogenetic relationships, and used R language to compare the community structure of haloalkalophiles in the salt lakes., Results: Water in this region has a high salinity ranging from 165 to 397 g/L. The water is strongly alkaline with pH value above 10. The microbial diversity and community structure of the salt lakes are obviously different. The diversity of bacteria is more abundant than that of archaea. The main categories of bacteria in the samples are Gammaproteobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Alphaproteobacteria, Firmicute and Verrucomicrobia, whereas all archaea only belong to Halobacteriaceae of Euryarchaeota., Conclusion: Salinity is the most important environmental factor influencing the bacterial community structure, whereas the archaea community structure was influenced comprehensively by multiple environmental factors.

Objective: To explore the significance of serum squamous cell carcinoma antigen (SCC-Ag) in the diagnose of recurrent squamous cell carcinoma of cervix, and seek an effective approach to monitor tumor recurrence after treatment as early as possible., Methods: All the data were collected from 1 557 patients with cervical squamous cell carcinoma treated in the First Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical College from Jan. 2004 to Dec. 2010, the data of un-controlled cases(patients whose serum level of SCC- Ag failed to decrease to normal level or patients with incomplete tumor extinction)were eliminated, there were 1 394 cases of complete remission were analyzed, the median age was 46 years( rang, 18-72 years). According to International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics stages (FIGO, 1994), 71 cases were in stage Ia, 360 cases stage Ib, 254 cases stage IIa, 207 cases stage IIb, 95 cases stage IIIa, 289 cases stage IIIb, 106 cases stage IVa and 12 cases stage IVb. Radical hysterectomy was performed in 685 cases with stage I-IIa, concurrent radiation and chemotherapy was performed in 709 cases with stage IIb-IV. Taking serum cut off value of SCC- Ag was 1.95 µg/L, the level ≤ 1.95 µg/L as SCC- Ag negative expression and >1.95 µg/L as SCC-Ag positive expression. The positive expression status of SCC-Ag before treatment, the relationship between the post-treatment recurrence rate after SCC-Ag becoming negative and the clinicopathological features of the patients with cervical squamous cell carcinoma were analyzed, concurrently combined with gynecological check- up, pathological and imaging examination, followed by comparative analysis with the results of monitoring., Results: Among 1 394 patients with cervical squamous cell carcinoma, there were 1 169 cases with positive SCC-Ag, the positive expression rate of SCC-Ag before treatment was closely related with the clinical stages and tumor size(all P < 0.01), which was not related with pathological grade and lymphatic metastasis(all P > 0.05). The positive expression of SCC-Ag in 1 169 patients before treatment turned negative after treatment, 279 patients with recurrence whose positive expression of SCC- Ag turned negative after treatment, the recurrence rate was closely related with clinical stages, pathological grade, lymphatic metastasis and tumor size(all P < 0.01). Among 279 cases of recurrent squamous cell carcinoma of cervix, the median time of the increase in serum level of SCC-Ag was 12.4 months, and the median time of clinical or imaging examination was 19.0 months. And the recurrence time in the increase of patients' serum level of SCC- Ag occurred obviously earlier than that in clinical or radiographic manifestation (P < 0.01), the median time of recurrence of the increase in serum level of SCC-Ag was obviously earlier than that of abnormality found by clinical or imaging examination(P < 0.01). Among 279 cases with recurrent squamous cell carcinoma of cervix, the serum level of SCC-Ag >5 µg/L for patients with central recurrence was 4.2% (4/96), while in the group of pelvic wall recurrence group was 56.2% (45/80)and in distant metastasis group was 87.4% (90/103). The level of SCC- Ag >5 µg/L from the patients with pelvic wall recurrence and distant metastasis were much higher than that of patients with central recurrence (P < 0.01), and the same results were shown between distant metastasis group and pelvic wall recurrent group (P < 0.01)., Conclusions: SSC-Ag expression in serum of patients with cervical squamous carcinoma is closely related with clinical stages and the tumor size. Dynamic monitoring the level of SSC-Ag could contribute to the early diagnosis for tumor recurrence, but it has some limitations for patients with central recurrence, which should deserve our attention.

Objective: To explore serum redox status differences among different types of dyslipidemia patients., Method: One hundred and nineteen healthy people and two hundred and ninety four dyslipidemic participants on clinical examination were divided into six groups: control group, hypercholesterolemia (HTC), hypertriglyceridemia (HTG), combined hyperlipidemia (CH), low level of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LHDL) and hyperlipidemia with LHDL (HBL + LHDL) according to blood lipid profiles. Malonaldehyde (MDA), total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC), advanced oxidation protein products (AOPP) and dityrosine (DT) in serum were measured., Results: In all participants, the T-AOC, AOPP and DT levels in HTG, CH and HBL + LHDL groups were significantly (P < 0.05) higher than that in controls, further, LHDL with or without hyperlipidemia had elevated (P < 0.05) MDA level compared with control, HTC and HTG groups, whereas levels of AOPP and DT in LHDL were not different with controls. Triglycerides values showed a positive correlation with MDA, T-AOC, AOPP and DT., Conclusion: Level of serum oxidative stress was higher in hyperlipidemia patients than in healthy people, and high triglycerides levels were more likely to cause an imbalance in redox status.

Objective: To retrieve the epidemiological literature of end stage renal hemodialysis patients., Methods: A total of 8 108 chronic renal failure (CRF) patients on first-time dialysis in Shanxi province during January 2010 and December 2013 were surveyed. Their clinical data were registered into the Chinese national renal data system., Results: In Shanxi province, the number of hemodialysis patients increased annually. The incidence rate between 2010 and 2013 was 46.62, 53.44, 62.61 and 62.93 pmp, respectively. The first three primary causes of CRF in incident hemodialysis patients were glomerulonephritis, diabetic nephropathy and hypertensive nephrosclerosis. The first vascular access in CRF patients at the beginning of hemodialysis was temporary central venous catheter (53.3%) and then primary arteriovenous fistula (41.2%). Anemia was one of the most common complications of incident hemodialysis patients, followed by hypertension and bone and mineral disorders, etc. Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular incidences were the leading causes of death. Those with end stage renal disease (ESRD) were between the ages of 40-49 and 50-59., Conclusions: In Shanxi province, the number of hemodialysis patients rises annually. The incidence of diabetic nephropathy and hypertensive nephrosclerosis rise with years. Timely hemodialysis and improvement are required.

Objective: We characterized eukaryotic community structure and the relationship between the community structure and environmental factors in acidic mine drainage (AMD) lake of a sulfide mine in Anhui Province, China., Methods: The 18S rRNA gene clone libraries were constructed by using molecular biology techniques to analyze the eukaryotic phylogenetic relationships, and the canonical correspondence analysis (CCA) was used to analyze the relationship between the community structure and environmental factors., Results: The phylogenetic analysis shows that Ascomycota is widespread in the four samples and dominated in the AMD-1 and AMD-3 clone libraries, whereas Chlorophyta and Basidiomycota are the predominant in AMD-2 and AMD-4 samples, respectively. Moreover, many sequences in libraries were closely related to those of acid-resisting and metal-resisting eukaryotic microbes, such as Sarcinomyces petricola, Penicillium janthinellum, Coniochaeta velutina, Trichoderma viride, Chlorella protothecoides var. acidicola, Ochromonas sp., and there are high content of known human pathogens, such as Lecythophora hoffmannii, Cryptococcus neoformans. CCA analysis revealed that the critical factors influencing the eukaryotic community structure include TN, SO4(2-), Fe2+ and Eh., Conclusion: Difference of eukaryotic community structure in time and spare may be related with physico-chemical properties of acidic mine drainage. High content of human pathogens was detected in the acidic ecosystem. The ecological study of eukaryotes under the acidic conditions can help to find efficient methods to process acid mine drainage.

Objective: To study the effect of light quality on growth, antioxidant enzyme activities of Ganoderma lucidum mycelium., Method: G. lucidum mycelium was cultured under different light qualities by light emitting diodes (LED). The growth G. lucidum mycelium was observed and antioxidant enzyme activities was determined in different growth periods., Result: Under the red LED, the blue LED and dark condition (CK), the mycelium grew faster than that under other light qualities. The white LED resulted in a largest increase in the amount of the mycelium and always kept the activities of CAT high level. Major fluctuations of POD activities emerged under the green LED, while enhanced severely in the late phase. Under the yellow LED, the activities of SOD appeared high level. However, SOD activities on dark (CK) raised obviously in late period. At the late stage, the content of mycelium polysaccharides was significant higher than that under the blue LED., Conclusion: The light quality could influence the growth and metabolism of G. lucidum mycelium.

Objective: To investigate microvessel density (MVD) and expressions of phosphor-STAT3 and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in nasal polyps, to explore their pathogenetic correlations., Method: All selected cases were measured up the standard of enrollment. Thirty samples of nasal polyps were obtained from patients undergoing nasal polypectomy, and 10 samples of inferior turbinate tissues were from patients undergoing nasal septal construction. p-STAT3,VEGF and MVD in nasal polyp tissues from 30 nasal polyposis patients and 10 samples of inferior turbinate tissues were detected with immunohistochemistry (sp) method., Result: In nasal polyp tissues, The positive rates of p-STAT3 and VEGF expression were 60% and 70% respectively, all were significantly higher in nasal polyps than in control inferior turbinates (P < 0.01). MVD was significantly higher in nasal polyps than in control inferior turbinates (22.78 +/- 7.89 vs 7.12 +/- 2.84, P < 0.01). p-STAT3 expression was positively correlated with VEGF expression and MVD., Conclusion: p-STAT3, VEGF and MVD were overexpressed in the tissues of nasal polyps, and p-STAT3 expression was positively correlated with VEGF expression and MVD; p-STAT3 was positively correlated with the neovascularization of nasal polyps, The inhibition of STAT3 pathway may inhibit the neovascularization, and then inhibit the formation and recurrence of the nasal polyps.

Objective: To study the distribution and expression of STAT6 and to examine the suggested roles of STAT6 in the pathogenesis of eosinophil infiltration in nasal polyps and to evaluate the role of STAT6 in the pathogenesis of nasal polyps., Method: All selected cases met the enrollment criteria. Thirty samples of nasal polyps were obtained from patients undergoing nasal polypectomy, and 10 samples of inferior turbinate tissues were from patients undergoing nasal septal reconstruction. STAT6 in nasal polyp tissues from 30 nasal polyposis patients and 10 samples of inferior turbinate tissues were detected with immunohistochemistry (SP) method. SPSS13.0 system was used to perform the statistical analysis., Result: The positive expression of STAT6 was significantly higher in epithelium of nasal polyps than that of the control. The number of eosinophils was significantly higher in epithelium of nasal polyps than that of the control. The difference between these two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). STAT6 positive cell were localized on epithelium, gland cells and on inflammatory cell of nasal polyps. STAT6 expression was positively correlated with the recruitment of eosinophils in nasal polyps., Conclusion: The high expression of STAT6 protein and the suggested roles of STAT6 in the recruitment of eosinophils in nasal polyps may contribute to the initiation and progression of nasal polyps.

Objective: To evaluate ultrasound-guided renal intracapsular injection of methylprednisolone for primary glomerulonephritis., Methods: Thirty patients with primary glomerulonephritis were performed intra-renal adipose capsule injection therapy under ultrasound guidance. The 24 hour urinary protein, plasma total protein, plasma albumin, urine volume, and serum creatinine were measured before and after the treatment., Results: The injection success rate was 96.3% (314/326) in patients whose width of perinephric adipose capsule was >or= 5 mm. The injection success rate was 77.4% (212/274) in patients whose width of perinephric adipose capsule was < 5 mm (P < 0.01). The complications included pain, perirenal hematoma, and so on. The 24 hour urinary protein after the treatment was lower than before the treatment (P < 0.05). The plasma total protein and plasma albumin were higher than before the treatment (P < 0.05). The urine volume and serum creatinine were unchanged (P > 0.05)., Conclusion: Intra-renal adipose capsule injection under ultrasound guidance has a high success rate and good effect, and is effective to treat primary glomerulonephritis with glucocorticoid.

Objective: To observe the effect of UPPP on hemorheology in patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS)., Method: Thirty patients of moderate or severe OSAHS were randomly selected from February 2004 to February 2006 in our hospital. Among them, 11 cases are moderate OSAHS (AHI<40), 19 cases are severe OSAHS (AHI>40). They were received uvulopalatopharyngoplasty. Whole blood specific viscosity, erythrocytic and erythrocyte aggregation index were detected before and after operation., Result: The values of testing in post operation were significantly lower than that in pre-operation (P<0.01)., Conclusion: Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty has can improve abnormity of hemorheology of OSAHS and decrease the danger of cerebrovascular disorder.

Objective: To explore the clinical characteristics and the prevention strategy of intractable spontaneous epistaxis., Method: Two hundred and eighty-nine patients with intractable spontaneous epistaxis were retrospectively analyzed., Result: Intractable spontaneous epistaxis was characterized by the onset season, age, sex, and the associated disease. Nasal septums were the most common sites of bleeding. Recurrent epistaxis was mainly associated with the failure of locating the bleeding sites., Conclusion: Control of elevated blood pressure is essential for the prevention of intractable spontaneous epistaxis. Once epistaxis occurs, the importance of the first treatment for the haemostasis should be emphasized. For the uncontrollable epistaxis, multiple interventions are necessary.

Objective: To study induction of apoptosis and inhibition of proliferation in Hep-2 by survivin gene targeting., Method: Antisense survivin RNA expression vector was constructed and then was transfected to human laryngeal carcinoma cell line Hep-2 by lipofectamine. HpEGFP/survivin cells were abstained by using G418. The level of survivin protein before and after transfection was determined by Western blot. Proliferation activity was measured by MTT assay. The experiment of colony formation in soft agar was carried out. Apoptosis was assessed by flow cytometry and acridine orange (AO)., Result: After antisense survivin RNA plasmids were transfected, the level of survivin protein was inhibited in Hep-2. Compared with control, proliferation of HpEGFP/survivin cells transfected with the recombinant of antisense survivin RNA were suppressed significantly. The experiment of colony formation in soft agar showed the ability of colony formation decreased in HpEGFP/survivin cells compared to control (P <0.05). Apoptosis rate increased about 1.81 folds compared with control., Conclusion: The recombination antisense survivin RNA plasmid can partly inhibit the level of survivin protein expression in Hep-2. Antisense survivin RNA can induce apoptosis and inhibit the proliferation of Hep-2 by down-regulating the expression of endogenous survivin in vitro.

Objective: To study the risk factors and preventive steps of nasosinusitis after radiotherapy of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC)., Method: Two hundreds and thirtyone NPC patients were retrospectively analysed., Result: Among 231 NPC patients, 98 patients (42.4%) had nasosinusitis before radiotherapy, 165 patients (66.7%) suffered from nasosinusitis after radiotherapy. The rate of nasosinusitis in NPC patients with high T stage and nasalcavity anatomical aberrance was higher than in others (P = 0.014, CR = 1. 973; P = 0. 034, OR = 2.156), and the rate of nasosinusitis in NPC patients with nasopharynx therapy was low (P = 0.008, OR = 0.675), most patients with nasosinusitis before radiotherapy had not any improve after radiotherapy,and effected the effect of radiotherapy., Conclusion: To reduce nasosinusitis after radiotherapy and improve patients quality of life, we suggest that nasopharyngeal cavity therapy should be carried out during and after irradiation for NPC patients, especially for those patients with high T stage and nasalcavity anatomical aberrance, and for those who had nasosinusitis before radiotherapy.
