As a green and recyclable thermoplastic material, polypropylene (PP) has a good application prospect in high voltage cable line. However, its thermodynamic performance is difficult to directly meet the requirements of the cable line, so the PP material needs to be modified to meet the performance requirements. Therefore, based on molecular simulation technology, a nano-CaCO3/PP composite model with doping mass fraction of 3% and 7% nano-CaCO3 and doped grafted silane coupling agent was built, the data of thermal and mechanical properties were calculated, and the changes of its properties were analyzed from a microscopic perspective. The results show that the thermal and mechanical properties of the composites model with grafting number 2 improved the best. In terms of thermal properties, the glass transition temperature (Tg) value increased by 49 K, the free volume fraction decreased by 2.52%, and the thermal conductivity was the highest. The production and application of biodegradable polycarbonate have been significantly facilitated by the scale production of dimethyl carbonate which is the downstream of carbon dioxide. Hence, the progress in current research of novel biodegradable aliphatic poly(butylene carbonate) (PBC) modification has been reviewed. The mechanism of monomer structure (i. e. linear aliphatic monomer, cyclic aliphatic monomer, and aromatic monomer) and blending compatibility effect on thermal properties, crystallization, and tensile properties of PBC were analyzed. Biodegradable poly(butanediol succinate-co-L-lactate) (PBSLA) copolyesters were modified using organic modified montmorillonite (OMMT) and Mica layered silicate inorganic fillers in solution blending method. The thermal properties, crystallization properties, barrier properties and mechanical properties of PBSLA/laminosilicate composites were studied. The results show that when the mass fraction of the layered silicate filler is less than 4%, its dispersion in copolyester matrix is good. The inorganic filler acts as the heterogeneous nucleating agent, which improves the crystallization property of the matrix material to some extent. In terms of mechanical properties, a certain amount of layered silicate filler plays an enhanced role. When the addition of OMMT and Mica is 2% and 3%, respectively, the tensile strength of the composites reache the maximum value, and can be increased by 18.4% and 34.4% compared with PBSLA, respectively. The layered structure effectively increases the zigzag path of gas molecules. With the increase of filler content, the water vapor and oxygen permeability coefficients of the composite show a downward trend. In order to improve the mechanical properties and thermal stability of nylon 66 (PA66) and make it widely used in the field of automotive lightweight, 5%~20% carbon fiber (CF) was doped in PA66 matrix. The results show that the PA66 composite doped with 15% CF has better comprehensive properties than the unmodified PA66 material. The universal testing machine test shows that the tensile strength of PA66/15% CF is 180 MPa, increased by 177%, and the elastic modulus is 19 867 MPa, increased by 7.1 times. The bending strength is 262 MPa, which is increased by 212%, and the bending modulus is 15 867 MPa, increased by 6.4 times. The impact strength of PA66/15%CF is 12.7 kJ/m², which increases by 49.4%. The mass residual rate of PA66/15%CF composite is 22.8%, and the thermal stability of the material is significantly improved. The types，preparation methods，thermal and mechanical properties of rare earth hafnate materials and their corrosion behaviors exposed to low melting point silicate（CMAS） and high temperature water vapor are summarized. The previous investigations indicate that the rare earth hafnates have the characteristics of low thermal conductivity，excellent high-temperature phase stability and good resistance to CMAS corrosion，which shows a favorable application prospect in the field of thermal/environmental barrier coatings（T/EBCs）. However，in order to overcome the limitations of a single-phase rare earth hafnate exposed to water vapor corrosion and CMAS，it is still necessary to carry out systematic studies on multi-rare earth components/high-entropy rare earth hafnate in the future，and further clarify the mechanism of influence of lattice distortion caused by components on physical and chemical properties of materials. Moreover，the coupled control method of thermal，mechanical and chemical properties of hafnate with integrated functions such as thermal protection，water vapor corrosion resistance and CMAS resistance and their corresponding material preparation processes should be explored.

Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) is one of the three major potato crops in the world. Consumption of cassava necessitates thermal processing, and the impact of such processing on the physicochemical and structural characteristics of cassava remained unknown. In this paper, three traditional thermal processing methods (boiling, steaming and frying) were used to heat-treat cassava. The physicochemical properties (chemical composition, pasting properties, thermal properties) and structural changes (microstructure, long-range ordering, and short-range ordering) of the processed cassava and untreated cassava was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectrometry, X-ray diffractometer, and differential thermal scanning calorimetry. The impact of the condensed structure of high modulus low shrinkage (HMLS) polyester industrial fibers on their application characteristics under specific stress and heat conditions is not clear. The creep, stress relaxation and thermal shrinkage properties of three HMLS polyester industrial fibers were tested, and the condensed structure was studied by wide angle X-ray diffraction. The correlation between the application characteristics of HMLS polyester industrial fibers and parameters such as crystallinity, orientation of crystalline and amorphous regions, and grain size was analyzed. The results how that the joint effect of crystallinity and orientation of amorphous region has important influence on creep, stress relaxation and thermal shrinkage of HMLS polyester industrial fiber. The high crystallinity of HMLS2 inhibited the slip of he molecular chain during stress and thermal shrinkage processes, and the moderate orientation of amorphous region also educed the disorientation of the molecular chain. The creep recovery rate of HMLS2 was 83.98% under 60% average breaking load, the stress relaxation rate was 11.65% treated for 60 s, and the strength loss was only 8% after heat treatment at 195 °C, exhibiting good creep resistance and thermal stability. In order to prepare a pumpable I〉CME with high stability, low sub coo ling and high thermal conductivity, a modified I〉CME was prepared by ad ding different mass fractions of nano-SiC to paraffin (RT55) emulsion (SiC/PCME). The sample of SiC/I〉CME was prepared by ultrasonic method. The particle size distribution, phase change behaviors, thermal conductivity, thermal response rate and rheological properties of SiC/I〉CME were investigated. The results showed that the volume average particle size of SiC/PCME with 0.09 wt% SiC was 480 nm, and there was slight change in the particle size distribution before and after 20 days and 1 20 thermal cycles. The latent heat value of 0.09 wt% SiC/PCME measured by DSC was 39.0 J/g, and the subcooling degree was only 0.03 °C, which was 11.8 °C lower than that of unmodified PCME. The subcooling degree of 0• 09 wt% SiC/PCME was hardly changed after 120 cycles, which had good cycling thermal stability. The thermal conductivity of SiC/PCME was reached 4.247 W/m • K at 55 °C. The thermal conductivity of the PCME and thermal response speed were improved by the addition of SiC nanoparticles. The lowest viscosity of SiC/I〉CME was 3 mPa • s at the shear speed of 1 00/s. In order to explore the potential application of poly(glycolic acid) (PGA) instead of poly(lactic acid) (PLA) in the modification of poly(terephthalic acid-butylene adipate) (PBAT), PGA (mass fractions 0-25%) and PBAT were blended by twin-screw melt blending, and the changes of thermal properties, mechanical properties, crystallization properties and barrier properties of the blends were analyzed. The results show that PGA acts as nucleating agent and reinforcing agent in the blend system, which can increase the crystallization temperature, tensile strength and elastic modulus, and decrease the crystallization enthalpy and thermal decomposition temperature. When the content of PGA increases to 25%, the Vicat softening point of the blend system reaches 89.4 °C and the hot deformation temperature reaches 41.6 °C. With the increase of PGA content, the water vapor/oxygen barrier property of the blend system decreases at first and then increased. However, when the content of PGA increases to 25%, the elongation at break of the blend decreases to 221%. Based on the experimental results and related literature, the properties of 25% PGA and 25% PLA modified PBAT were compared. The results show that the mechanical properties and barrier properties of 25% PGA modified PBAT are significantly better than those of 25% PLA modified PBAT, and the degradation rate of M-25 is faster than that of N-25 in 0'90 days, both of which meets the degradation standard of industrial compost. A two-component thermal conductive silicone encapsulant was prepared by end-vinyl silicone oil, spherical alumina, platinum catalyst and hydrogen silicone oil. The effects of the mass ratio and particle size of spherical alumina and the a-mount of hydrogen silicone oil on the properties of the silicone encapsulant were studied. The results show that when the spherical alumina with average particle size 45 µm and 5 µm is used as thermal conductive filler, silicone encapsulant increases the thermal conductivity first and then decreases with the increase of spherical alumina with smaller particle size (5 µm). When the mass fraction of 5 µm spherical alumina in the thermal conductive filler is 40%, the thermal conductivity of silicone encapsulant reaches the maximum of 1.63 W/(m·K). The mass ratio of large and small spherical alumina is 6:4, the thermal conductivity and Shore A hardness of silicone encapsulant increases with the decrease of small size spherical alumina, and the thermal conductivity of silicone encapsulant increases with the increase of large size spherical alumina. With the increase of hydrogen silicone oil, the silicone encapsulant shortens its operable time and tends to be stable, and Shore A hardness is increased and becomes stable. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Obtaining non-contact optical temperature sensing materials with good thermal stability and luminescent properties is one of the current research hotspots. In this work, Er3+/Yb3+ co doped CaGdAlO4:Erx,Yb0.10 (x = 0.006, 0.008, 0.010, 0.012, 0.014) single-phase phosphors were prepared by high-temperature solid-state method. For CaGdAlO4 : Erx, Yb0.10 powders with different Er3+ doping concentrations, the particle sizes range from 0.6 μm to 4.2 μm. When the samples are under 980 nm laser excitation, there exists two emission bands in the 500 * 575 nm range and one emission band in the 630 * 690 nm. The two stronger green emission bands located at 528 and 550 nm, and they could be attributed to ² H11/2→4 I15/2 and 4S3/2 →4 I15/2 transitions, while the weaker red emission band at 663 nm could be attributed to 4F9/2 →4 I15/2 transition of Er3+. The optimal upconversion luminescence intensity was obtained from CaGdAlO4 :Er0.010,Yb0.0. In the temperature range of 300 * 573 K, based on fluorescence intensity ratio FIR528/550 parameters, the absolute sensitivity SA increases from 44.4 x10-4 K-1 (@300 K) to 52.0 x 10-4 K-1 (@ 445 K), and then decreases to 49.0 x 10-4 K-1 (@ 573 K). The relative sensitivity SR decreases monotonically from 0.95 x 10-2 K-1 (@ 300 K) to 0.27 x 10-2 K-1 (@ 573 K). Furthermore, the heating-cooling cycling experiment shows that the thermal repeatability of temperature sensing for the phosphor is better than 98%. The results demonstrate that CaGdAlO4 :Er0. 010, Yb0.10 phosphors have potential applications in the field of optical temperature sensing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To develop and utilize aluminum-niobium slag, a kind of non-ferrous metallurgical waste residue produced in the preparation of metal niobium by the aluminothermic reduction method, the chemical composition, phase composition, microstructure and properties of aluminum-niobium slag were studied by ICP, XRD, SEM, TG-DTA and other characterization techniques. The results show that the oxidation of Nb and NbO leads to the poor volume thermal stability of aluminum-niobium slag. After heat treating the aluminum-niobium slag at different temperatures (400 - 1 500 °C), it is found that high temperature pre-firing treatment can effectively solve the problem of poor volume thermal stability of the aluminum-niobium slag. After pre-firing at 1 400 °C or above, the aluminum-niobium slag has stable phase composition and volume change rate as well as the refractoriness >1 790 °C, which meets the basic requirements of refractories for raw materials and lays a good foundation for its resource utilization. BackgroundU3Si2 is regarded as one of the most promising accident-tolerant nuclear fuels for light water reactors and is expected to replace the UO2 nuclear fuel in the future. Currently, spark plasma sintering (SPS) is an advanced technique for preparing U3Si2 pellets; however, the influence of SPS parameters on the performance of the pellets is unclear.PurposeThis study aims to investigate the effects of different sintering parameters (temperature and pressure) on the mechanical and thermal properties of the U3Si2 pellets prepared using SPS technology.MethodsThe thermal diffusivity of U3Si2 pellets was measured using a laser flash apparatus, and the thermal conductivity of the pellets was calculated. The mechanical properties of the pellets, including hardness, Young's modulus, and fracture toughness, were measured using nanoindenter. Thereafter, the influence of different sintering temperatures in the range of 1 000~1 300 ℃ and pressures in the range of 30~90 MPa on the mechanical and thermal properties of U3Si2 pellets were carefully examined.ResultsThe measurement results show that the thermal conductivity of the as-synthesized pellets increases linearly with temperature in the range 27~700 ℃. Moreover, increasing the sintering temperature and pressure improves the thermal conductivity of the U3Si2 pellets. The hardness and Young's modulus of the pellets increase with an increase in sintering temperature. They also exhibit a trend of first increasing and then stabilizing with increasing pressure, and tend to fully stabilize at 60 MPa. Moreover, the fracture toughness of the pellets decreases with the increase of sintering temperature and increases with increasing pressure.ConclusionsBased on the above results, optimized SPS parameters for the U3Si2 pellets are proposed, and this study provides a reference for the preparation of high-performance U3Si2 pellets.

Graphene (GN) modified polystyrene (PS) was used to prepare flame retardant PS/GN thermal insulation material, and its mechanical properties and thermal properties were studied. The results show that KH-550 is successfully grafted onto the surface of GN. With the increase of GN content, the mechanical properties and heat resistance of PS/GN insulation materials gradually increase, and the thermal conductivity gradually decreases. When the content of GN is not more than 0.3%, the mechanical properties and heat resistance of PS/GN insulation material increase significantly, and the thermal conductivity increases little. The optimum content of GN is 0.3%, at this time, the compressive strength of PS/GN insulation material is increased by 37.2%, the initial degradation temperature is increased by 29 °C, the mass residue is increased by 0.7%, and the thermal conductivity is 0.037 1 W/(m·K). In order to clarify the influence of Lactiplantibacillus pentosus fermentation on the structure of peanut proteins, changes in the structure of peanut protein isolate (PPI), arachin and conarachin before and after fermentation were studied. The results showed that L. pentosus fermentation significantly increased the free sulfhydryl content, surface hydrophobicity and denaturation temperature, and significantly reduced the β-folding content and denaturation enthalpy of arachin (P < 0.05). It reduced the free sulfhydryl content, surface hydrophobicity, and denaturation enthalpy, and significantly increased the degeneration temperature and α-helix content of PPI and conarachin (P < 0.05). Through particle size, potential and spectral analysis, we found that L. pentosus fermentation significantly improved the particle size and zeta potential of each protein component, and resulted in a red shift in their fluorescence peaks. In contrast to PPI and conarachin, the maximum fluorescence emission wavelength of arachin showed a 1.3 and 2.4 nm red shift, and arachin exhibited a 19.54% and 14.75% higher increase in thermal denaturation temperature, respectively. Thermal properties and scanning electron microscopic (SEM) analysis showed that arachin had maximum structural unfolding and higher thermostability after fermentation, indicating that L. pentosus fermentation is more likely to promote the molecular modification of arachin, and contributes to the gel modification of peanut proteins.

SiCp/Al composites were prepared by hot-pressing sintering method, and the effect of sintering temperature on the properties of the composites was studied. The phase compositions, relative density, mechanical properties and micro morphology of the composite samples were analyzed through X-ray diffraction, Archimedes drainage method, the three-point bending method and scanning electron microscope. Additionally, the thermal conductivity and thermal expansion coefficient were measured. The results show that SiCp/Al composites are composed of SiC, Al and Mg2Si phases. The addition of Mg improves the wettability between the matrix and SiC particles. With the increase of sintering temperature, the hardness and bending strength of the composites first increase and then decrease, reaching the maximum values of 98 HRB and 275 MPa at 700 ℃, respectively. The thermal conductivity of the composites first increases and then decreases, and the thermal expansion coefficient first decreases and then increases, reaching the maximum value of 218.187 W/(m·K) and the minimum value of 8.6 × 10−6 K−1 at 700 ℃, respectively.

In order to improve the thermal stability of 2,6-diamino-3,5-dinitropyridine-1-oxide (ANPyO), polydopamine was coated on the surface of ANPyO crystal by in situ polymerization, based on the principle of dopamine oxidation self-polymerization. ANPyO@PDA core-shell composite materials with different coating rates were prepared by adjusting the reaction time. The morphology, crystal structure, molecular structure, and element content of ANPyO@PDA composites were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffractometer (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FT-IR) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The thermal decomposition performance of the ANPyO@PDA composites was also tested by thermogravimetry-differential scanning calorimetry (TG-DSC). The results show that PDA formed uniform and compact coating on the surface of the ANPyO, and the crystal and molecular structures of the ANPyO remained unchanged after the PDA coating. Additionally, the coating rate gradually increased with the growth of coating time. The thermal decomposition peak temperatures of the ANPyO were increased by 1.97 and 1.95 °C, respectively, as well as the apparent activation energy increased by 25.04 and 139.33 kJ/mol, and the critical temperatures of the thermal explosion were increased by 23.12 and 20.04 t after PDA coating for 3 and 9 h, respectively. Aiming at the problem that the existing thermal insulation test methods and evaluation standards of clothing fabrics cannot intuitively and fully reflect the thermal insulation performance of clothing products in actual use, the cooling rate method was adopted to construct an environmental climate simulation chamber and a warm body dummy system, and the warm dummy was used to objectively test down jacket clothing at a certain ambient temperature. The objective test results were verified by the subjective evaluation of the thermal performance of down jacket garment and the infrared thermal imaging test. The results show that the thermal property and cooling rate of the garments are inversely proportional under different simulated ambient temperatures. Through subjective evaluation and infrared thermal imaging verification, a set of evaluation system that can intuitively, comprehensively and accurately reflect the thermal performance of down jacket garment under different environmental conditions is constructed, which can meet the specific requirements of producers and consumers for the thermal performance of clothing, which has strong theoretical and practical significance. In order to improve the comprehensive properties of polylactic acid (PLA) and broaden the application field of PLA composites, reduced oxidized graphene (rGO) grafted caprolactone (CL) was prepared as a nanofiller, and rGO-PCL/PLA composites material were prepared by solution blending. The chemical structure, micromorphology and dispersibility of rGO-PCL were studied. The effects of rGO-PCL mass fraction on the microstructure, mechanical properties, thermal properties and hydrophilic angle of the composite were discussed. The results show that the rGO-PCL nanofiller demonstrated excellent dispersibility in the blend solution. Compared with pure PLA, when the mass fraction of rGO-PCL reaches 1%, it could be uniformly dispersed in the PLA matrix, and has excellent hydrophilicity. The tensile strength and the elongation at break increase by 19% and 180%, respectively. The thermal stability and crystallinity are significantly improved. The rGO-PCL/PLA composite holds promising potential for applications in textile fibers, 3D printing materials, packaging materials and other fields. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

C/SiC composites have been widely used in aerospace, national defense, and chemical industries due to their excellent mechanical and thermal properties. Accurate knowledge about the mechanical/thermal properties of C/SiC composites is very important for their efficient application in related fields. Based on the representative volume element (RVE) and periodic boundary conditions, a micro/meso single-cell model for C/SiC composites was established in view of the non-uniform and multi-scale characteristics of fiber bundles, such as the volume fraction, the interweaving mode, and the weaving dimension. The finite element software ABAQUS was used to predict the micro-scale thermal and mechanical properties of the fiber bundle, and the fiber bundle properties were introduced into the mesoscopic model to analyze and obtain the macroscopic thermal and mechanical properties of the composite. Based on this multi-scale correlation analysis method, the thermal conductivity and thermal expansion coefficient of fiber bundles and C/SiC composites were further studied at the operating temperatures ranging from 27~1 227 ℃. In order to reduce carbon emissions,MgO-C refractories were prepared using fused magnesia, flake graphite,Al-Si composite powder and a-AI2O3 micropowder as raw materials,and new environmental friendly complex magnesium-aluminum cementing agent (abbreviated as W powder) and phenolic resin (abbreviated as PF) as binders, respectively. The physical properties and thermal shock resistance of the MgO-C refractories were compared. The results show that: (1) after different temperature treatment, W powder bonded samples have higher linear change rate and apparent porosity but lower bulk density and cold compressive strength than PF bonded samples; (2) W bonded samples have better thermal shock resistance than PF bonded samples, and the cold modulus of rupture of the sample bonded with W after one thermal shock is increased by 19.2%. The white Hypsizygus marmoreu has good flavor and nutrition, and is rich in protein. To fully develop the white Hypsizygus marmoreu protein resources, protein was extracted by traditional alkali method and ultrasonic assisted method. The protein’s physicochemical properties such as oil absorption, water holding, solubility, foamability, emulsification were analyzed. The results showed that ultrasound-assisted extraction increased the extraction rate of protein to 31.4%, which was 8% higher than the traditional alkaline method. Thermal experiments showed that the maximum weight loss rate of protein extracted by ultrasound was 311.4 ℃, and that of protein extracted by traditional alkali was 334.8 ℃. Fourier transform infrared analysis showed that the α-spiral structure decreased while the irregular curly structure increased for the protein extracted by traditional alkali method. Compared with the soybean protein isolate (SPI), at non neutral pH or the salt ion concentration of 0.5 mol/L, there was no significant difference for the emulsifying ability and stability between white Hypsizygus marmoreu protein and SPI. At the same pH, there was no significant difference in water retention and emulsification stability between the two extraction processes. At the same NaCl concentration, no significant difference was observed between the solubility, foam stability and emulsification stability. Within 25~65 ℃, the oil absorption and foaming stability of white Hypsizygus marmoreu protein showed no significant difference between that of SPI. In this range, the solubility and foamability of white Hypsizygus marmoreu protein increased firstly and then decreased with the change of temperature.
