- Abstract
Based on the accumulated experiment experience and technology of Key Laboratory of Materials Modification by Laser, Ion and Electron Beams of Ministry of Education, a platform on laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) is designed and constructed. In this work, the equipment module of the platform is presented; the operating technique and the parameter optimization are introduced. The pollution elements of heavy metals like Cu, Pb, Zn are selected as the subject investigated, the simulated detection on the sea water is carried out, the concentration of signal varied with strength of the LIBS are obtained, and the limitation of the detection for each element is given. Moreover, the samples from some sea area or drain outlet in Dalian city are collected, their pollution situations are analyzed. The results show that various metal ions in seawater samples can he analyzed on-line soon with this experiment system, and the great potential of LIBS technology in the field of liquid detection is revealed.
