Objective Summarize the clinical characteristics and treatment plan of 2 cases of abnormal anastomosis at the origin of the posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA) complicated with aneurysm. Methods and Results Two cases of abnormal anastomosis of the PICA complicated with aneurysms all showed spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). MRI showed abnormal anastomosis of the PICA, accompanied by multiple small aneurysms at the anastomotic vessel or anastomotic site. All patients underwent occipital artery (OA)⁃PICA bypass graft and electrocoagulation of the aneurysms at the same time. Use "PICA anastomosis" as the key words to search PubMed (January 1, 2000 to June 30, 2021) 8 articles in English, 8 patients, combined with 2 cases in this article cases, a total of 10 patients with abnormal anastomosis at the origin of the PICA complicated with aneurysm. All cases occurred as spontaneous SAH; 8 cases of aneurysms occurred at the anastomosis site, one case occurred at the distal end of the PICA, and one case occurred in a branch of the original artery. Five cases underwent craniotomy, 3 cases of OA⁃PICA bypass surgery and concurrent electrocoagulation (2 cases) or clipping (one case) of the aneurysms, one case of simple aneurysm clipping, and one case of aneurysm clipping combined with cutting off anastomotic artery, and there were no clear complications after surgery; 4 cases underwent endovascular interventional treatment, 2 cases of coil embolization of aneurysms, 2 cases of Glubran glue embolization of aneurysms, of which 3 cases had postoperative complications, manifested as mild brainstem infarction (2 cases) or disturbance of consciousness (one case). Conclusions Abnormal anastomosis at the origin of the PICA complicated with aneurysm is rare, and the risk of rupture and hemorrhage is high. OA⁃PICA bypass and electrocoagulation or clipping of the aneurysm can be used as a treatment option.

Objective: To review and analyze the trend of researches on prostatitis in China in the past two decades., Methods: We searched the core collection of China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) for studies on prostatitis, and analyzed the data obtained using Excel, Citespace and VOSviewer., Results: Totally, 1 216 original articles were identified, with 3 271 keywords, ≥3-time high-frequency keywords accounting for 12.9%, with "", "", "chronic prostatitis", "prostatitis", and "" as the top 5 ones, each with a centrality higher than 300. Major prostatitis-related studies focused on the 8 keywords, namely, prostatitis, prostatic fluid, rats, prostate, syndromes, efficacy observation, compound (in traditional Chinese medicine, TCM), and therapeutic application. The included literature involved 2 808 authors, with 402 involved more than twice and most of them in a scattered manner. The major topics of prostatitis studies varied in the past two decades, focusing on TCM therapies, promotion of blood circulation and stasis and comprehensive nursing in 2000－2001, on animal models, CD4+ lymphocytes and other experimental molecules in 2007－2010, on urodynamics, risk factors and specific antigens in 2013－2016, and on literature information resources in 2016., Conclusions: The immune mechanism remains a hot topic in the future researches on prostatitis. In terms of treatment of the disease, TCM has a potential value, and more practice and studies are required for an optimal combination of TCM and Western medicine. Strengthened collaborative efforts are needed to establish an authoritative source channel for the keywords, and incorporate it into the national standard system, and above all, to integrate the prostatitis study into multi-disciplinary researches, eliminate academic barriers, encourage collaborative innovation with multiple parties, and promote the exchanges and development in this field.

Objective: To investigate the effects and mechanism of salidroside(SAL) on model rats of diabetic nephropathy(DN)., Methods: Rats were divided into control, model, SAL(50 mg/kg), SAL(100 mg/kg) and SAL(200 mg/kg) groups. The rats beside in control group were injected with streptozotocin(STZ) combined with right nephrectomy. And rats in SAL(50, 100, 200 mg/kg) groups were received gavage with SAL(50, 100, 200 mg/kg). After 12 weeks, rats were sacrificed and kidneys were collected. HE staining was performed for renal injury, the concentrations of urine protein, urine creatine(Ucr), blood urea nitrogen(BUN), malondialdehyde(MDA), superoxide dismutase(SOD) and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px) were measured by kits. Western blot was used to measure the protein levels of Collagen Ⅳ, fibronectin, E-cadherin, α-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA), N-cadherin, Smad2、Smad3, phosphorylated-Smad2(p-Smad2), p-Smad3 and transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)., Results: Compared with control group, the renal injury of rats in model group was aggravated, the concentrations of urine protein, Ucr and BUN were elevated significantly, the apoptosis cells and positive cells of caspase-3 were increased; compared with model group, the renal injury of rats in SAL(100, 200 mg/kg) groups were alleviated markedly, the concentrations of urine protein, Ucr and BUN were reduced, the apoptosis cells and positive cells of caspase-3 were decreased notably. SAL(50 mg/kg) increased the concentration of SOD in DN model rats, SAL(100, 200 mg/kg) increased the concentrations of SOD and GSH-Px, decreased the level of MDA. Meanwhile, the inhibition of collagen Ⅳ, fibronrctin, α-SMA, and N-cadherin and the induction of E-cadherin in DN rats were induced by SAL(100, 200 mg/kg). In addition, SAL(100, 200 mg/kg) reduced the ratio of p-Smad2/Smad2, p-Smad3/Smad3 and the level of TGF-β1(P<0.05 or P<0.01)., Conclusion: SAL can inhibit renal fibrosis of STZ-induced DN model rats, and the mechanism may be related to inhibition of TGF-β1/Smad pathway.

Objective: To determine the differential protein expressions of epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) markers E-cadherin and vimentin in hepatocellular carcinorma (HCC) and to investigate their correlation to the molecular mechanisms of metastasis to explore their potential utility as prognostic indicators of HCC., Methods: Tumor tissues and patient-matched adjacent non-tumor tissues were collected from individuals diagnosed with HCC. E-cadherin and vimentin protein expressions in the tissue specimens were quantified by western blot with densitometry of fluorescence emission and comparatively analyzed to determine the associations with molecular and clinical features. The expressions of E-cadherin and vimentin, as well as the other EMT-related protein Twist, were also detected in the tissue specimens by immunohistochemistry. Statistical analyses were carried out by paired-samples t-test, Mann-Whitney test, and Spearman rank correlation analysis., Results: E-cadherin expression was significantly lower in tumor tissues (0.082 +/- 0.063 vs. adjacent non-tumor tissues: 0.226 +/- 0.215, t = -4.050, P less than 0.01), lower in patients with portal vein tumor thrombus (vs. non-thrombic HCC patients, P = 0.001), and correlated with TNM stage (III/IV > I/II, P = 0.003). Vimentin expression was significantly higher in tumor tissues (vs. adjacent non-tumor tissues, P = 0.002), negatively correlated with E-cadherin expression (t = -0.509, P = 0.004), and closely associated with some clinical parameters, such as portal vein tumor thrombus (P less than 0.01), TNM stage (P less than 0.01), and Milan criteria (P = 0.005). Immunohistochemistry showed that E-cadherin expression was very weak in tumors but very strong in the cell membranes of non-tumor tissues, and that vimentin and Twist expressions were strong in tumors but undetectable in non-tumor tissue., Conclusion: Expression levels of the EMT markers E-cadherin and vimentin in HCC are related to clinical parameters, including portal vein tumor thrombus and TNM stage, and may represent useful prognostic markers of metastasis.

To study the CTL antigen epitopes and drug resistance mutations of HIV-1 gag and pol genes through analyzing gag and pol gene sequences. The HIV-1 gag and pol gene fragments were amplified using nested polymerase chain reaction. A total of 23 PCR sequences, 449 cloned gag sequences and 402 cloned pol sequences were obtained. Sequence analyses showed the 23 samples were subtype B or B'. A total of 4 in 8 CTL antigen epitopes appeared 8 mutations in consensus sequence of subtype B and B'. There were no mutations found in the PCR sequences, whereas a few mutations were found in clone sequences (9.80%) in 5 antigen epitopes in p24 region. Eighteen PIs-related mutations and 24 RTIs-related mutations were found in PCR sequences and clone sequences in pol gene region, in which 17 (94.44%) PIs-related mutations and 15 (62.50%) RTIs-related mutations were found only in the clone sequences, respectively. The results showed that the prevalence of HIV-1 drug resistance strains in this study was at a higher level (17.39%), suggesting that some samples were resistant.to existing antiviral drugs.
