It is a major problem to remediate the uranium contaminated groundwater at an acid in-situ leaching uranium mine. In this paper, phytic acid was hydrolyzed by the hydrothermal reaction to obtain phytic acid hydrolyzate, and the simulated uranium contaminated groundwater was prepared according to the physicochemical characteristics of uranium-contaminated groundwater at an acid in-situ leaching uranium mine. The effect of the amount of added phytic acid hydrolyzate and its pH value on the removal performance of U( VI) from the uranium contaminated groundwater was explored, and the concentrations of phosphate anion, calcium ion, total iron ion, manganese ion, zinc ion, and magnesium ion were monitored, and the mechanism for the remediation of uranium contaminated groundwater was analyzed by SEM, TEM, XPS and XRD. The results show that when the amount of the addied phytic acid hydrolyzate was 2 mL, the concentration of phosphate was 24.562 g/L, the initial pH value was 6, the amount of simulated uranium contaminated groundwater was 100 mL, its initial pH value was 3, its uranium concentration was 5 mg/L, and the reaction time was 12 h, the removal rate of uranium reached more than 99%, and the pH value was raised to 5.9. The current research verified that it is feasible to use phytic acid hydrolyzate to remediate the uranium contaminated groundwater at add in-situ leading uranium mine. Since phytic add is cheap and easy to obtain, it can be used as an economical phosphorus source to replace expensive phosphate compounds for the remediation of uranium-contaminated groundwater at the mine.
