Objective To observe the effcet of wearing corneal bandage lens after pterygium excision combined with conjunctival transitional operation. Methods A total of 28 cases（38 eyes）with pterygium surgery in Yibin NO.4 People ′ s Hos- pital from March 2016 to March 2017 were reviewed，these patients all were the incipient pterygium of 3~5 mm in the cornea of the nasal side. All patients were divided into the research group（16 cases，20 eyes）and the control group（12 cases，18 eyes）， the pterygium excision combined with conjunctival transitional operation with limbal stem cells was performed in both groups， the patients weared corneal bandage lens immediately after surgery in the research group.The corneal epithelium repair time， ocular pain and foreign body susceptible degree scores after postoperative 6 h，1 d，3 d，7 d，15 d，cure time and complication were compared，corneal epithelial rehabilitation was assessed by using sodium fluorescein staining. Results The postoperative follow-up of 3 to 18 months，the total effective rate in the research group higher than that in the control group，the difference was statically significant（P<0.05）. The corneal epithelium repair time and cure time in the research group were significantly shorter than those in the control group，and at 6 h，1 d，3 d after surgery，the ocular pain and foreign body susceptible degree scores were significantly lower than those in the control group，the differences were statically significant（P<0.05）. Conclusion The postoperative wearing corneal bandage lens after pterygium excision combined with conjunctival transitional operation can ac- celerate the corneal epithelium repair，relieve pain，shorten the cure time，and low recurrence rate，safe and feasible.
