The essential oil of Litsea pungens Hemsl was used as the main raw material, and the method of vacuum freeze-drying was used to prepare the microcapsules of essential oil of Litsea pungens Hemsl, and the embedding rate of the microcapsules was used as an index. Optimizing the microcapsule embedding process of essential oils to determine the best process parameters. At the same time, the physical and chemical properties, microstructure, volatile rate and peroxide value of essential oil were analyzed during storage. The results showed that the best parameters of the microcapsules of essential oil were as follows: Composite wall material ratio (soy protein isolate: β-cyclodextrin) was 1:1 (g/g), core wall material ratio was 1:5(g/g), solid content was 15%, emulsifier content was 3%, emulsifier ratio was 1:4 (g/g), emulsifying temperature was 40 ℃, embedding rate of the microcapsules was 84.68%, its water content, solubility and bulk density were 3.05%, 91.04% and 0.35 g/cm3, respectively. The results of SEM showed that the microcapsules of Litsea pungens Hemsl essential oil were irregular in shape. With the extension of storage time, the volatilization rate and peroxide value of microcapsules of Litsea pungens Hemsl essential oil were lower than those of essential oil, which indicated that the microencapsulation of Litsea pungens Hemsl essential oil could effectively slow down the volatilization rate and reduce oxidation degree of essential oil.

Adaptive modulation technology is an important research content of AMC technology in LTE-Advanced system.The β value of new MCS levels were studied,in which the higher order modulation 256QAM was used,then the general β value of new MCS levels by the iterative algorithm in several different channel models were obtained,according to the convexity of the mean square error function,and compared with the traditional MCS levels.The simulation results show that the new MCS levels provide higher system performance when SNR is high,and the optimized β value makes CQI calculation more accurately.

Drawing on the data generated by a survey involving 1,428 international undergraduate students in China, this article analyzed the relationship between the participants' perceived learning environment and their self-reported engagement in academic activities. The findings revealed the participants' uneven participation in the academic activities. Based on their self-reported levels of student engagement, the participants were categorized into three types: i.e. active engagement (23.2%), lack of engagement (45.8%) and inadequate engagement (31.0%). In line with the previous research findings, this research confirmed a significant relationship between international students' perceived learning environment and their engagement in academic studies. In this special issue editorial, we firstly discuss the sharp contrast between the rich English literature on Chinese students overseas, and the limited studies published in international journals on international students in China. We then introduce the rapid expansion of international student enrolment in China in recent ten years, pointing to the significance and urgency to deepen our understandings of these students' experiences. The editorial ends with an introduction to the contents of the articles included in the special issue. We hope that this issue on international students in China will motivate Chinese-speaking researchers in and outside China to contribute to this important research area. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A new set reconciliation algorithm was presented,which called counting-Bloom-filter based set reconciliation(CBFSR).This method represented sets SA and SB as counting Bloom filters,subtracts SA's counting Bloom filter from SB's counting Bloom filter,the differences denoted CBF(SB)−CBF(SA),then determined SB−SA elements in SB with CBF(SB)−CBF(SA),and finally performed union operation on SB−SA and SA.Simulation resdts show counting-Bloom-filter based set reconciliation combines the advantages of exact set reconciliation and approximate set reconciliation,besides gaining all SB−SA elements with single-round messgage exchanges,it can apply to update-intensive distributed systems because counting Bloom filters support element deletion operation.

Twelve compounds were isolated from alcohol extracts of the rhizome of Homalomena occulta by using various chromatographic techniques including column chromatography onsilica gel and C₁₈ reverse-phase silica gel, and semi-preparative HPLC. Their structures were identified by physico-chemical properties and spectroscopic data analysis as 3α, 7α-dihydroxy-cadin-4-ene (1), 3-oxofabiaimbricatan (2), 3β, 4α-dihydroxy-7-epi-eudesm-11(13)-ene (3), integrifonol A(4), 1β, 6β-dihydroxy-7-epi-eudesm-11(13)-ene (5), 4β, 7β, 11-enantioeudesmantriol (6), epi-guaidiol (7), oplopanone(8), (-)-1β, 4β, 6α-trihydroxy-eudesmane (9),2α-hydroxyhomalomenol(10), (-)-T-muurolol (11) and hamalomenol A(12). Compounds 1-7 were obtained from the genus Homalomena for the first time and 11-12 were firstly reported from the species. Additionally, compounds 3, 5 and 8 displayed inhibitory effects against the lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced nitric oxide (NO) production in mouse macrophage RAW264.7 cells with IC₅₀ values of 6.51, 3.25, 7.78 μmol•L⁻¹, respectively., Competing Interests: The authors of this article and the planning committee members and staff have no relevant financial relationships with commercial interests to disclose., (Copyright© by the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association.)

To study the chemical constituents of Artemisia lactiflora. The compounds were isolated by column chromatography with silica gel, C18 reverse-phase silica gel, semi-preparative HPLC, and their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectral analysis. Twelve compounds were isolated from alcohol extracts of A. lactiflora and identified as 7-hydroxycoumarin (1), 7-methoxycoumarin (2), balanophonin (3), aurantiamide (4), aurantiamide acetate (5), isovitexin (6), kaempferol-3-O-beta-D-rutinoside (7), rutin (8), caffeic acid ethyl ester (9), quercetin (10), methyl 3, 5-di-O-caffeoyl quinate (11) and methyl 3, 4-di-O-caffeoyl quinate (12), respectively. Compounds 3-12 were obtained from this plant for the first time.

Based on the salt-tolerance identification of a series of cucumber rootstock varieties, the cucumber cultivar 'Xintaimici' grafted on different salt-tolerant rootstock varieties 'Sherpa', 'Shintosa' , 'Tielizhen' , and 'Figleaf gourd' was selected to study its seedlings physiological responses to NaCl stress, taking the self-rooted ones as the control. Under the stress of 100 mmol NaCl x L(-1), the leaf electrolyte leakage rate and malondialdehyde (MDA) content of the grafted seedlings were significantly lower than those of self-rooted seedlings, and the seedlings grafted on 'Figleaf gourd' showed the lowest electrolyte leakage rate and malondialdehyde (MDA) content, followed by the seedlings grafted on 'Tielizhen', 'Shintosa' , and 'Sherpa'. The leaf proline and soluble sugar contents and peroxidase (POD), superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), and ascorbate peroxidase (APX) activities of the grafted seedlings were significantly higher than those of the self-rooted seedlings, and the POD, SOD, CAT, and APX activities were the highest for the seedlings grafted on 'Figleaf gourd' and the lowest for the seedlings grafted on 'Sherpa', but had no significant differences for the seedlings grafted on 'Tielizhen' and 'Shintosa'. The leaf Na+ content of the seedlings grafted on different rootstock varieties ranked as 'Figleaf gourd' < 'Tielizhen' < 'Shintosa' < 'Sherpa', while the leaf K+ content had little difference for the seedlings grafted on 'Figleaf gourd', 'Tielizhen', and 'Shintosa' but was significantly higher than that for the seedlings grafted on 'Sherpa'. The self-rooted seedlings had the highest leaf Na+ content but the lowest leaf K+ content. The leaf Na+/K+ ratio of grafted seedlings was significantly lower than that of self-rooted ones, and the seedlings grafted on 'Figleaf gourd' had the lowest leaf Na+/K+ ratio.

Mean Shift algorithm is a robust approach toward feature space analysis and it has been used wildly for natural scene image and medical image segmentation. However, high computational complexity of the algorithm has constrained its application in remote sensing images with massive information. A fast image segmentation algorithm is presented by extending traditional mean shift method to wavelet domain. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, multispectral remote sensing image and synthetic image are utilized. The results show that the proposed algorithm can improve the speed 5-7 times compared to the traditional MS method in the premise of segmentation quality assurance.

Objective: To investigate the epidemiology of dental caries and its correlated factors of 12-year-old children in Dongxiang, Baoan and Yugu races., Methods: According to the method of third national oral health epidemiologic investigation, 448 12-year-old children in Dongxiang, Baoan and Yugu races were randomly collected and the epidemiological investigation of dental caries, oral bacteriological detection and oral hygiene behavior were carried out., Results: 1) The caries prevalence rate of Dongxiang, Baoan and Yugu races were 40.52%, 44.29%, 46.45%, respectively. The average caries of Dongxiang, Baoan and Yugu races were 0.92, 0.90, 1.13, respectively. 2) The main ranks of Streptococcus mutans in saliva were class 2 and class 3 in Dongxiang and Baoan races. However, it was class 0 or class 1 in Yugu race. The level of Streptococcus mutans in dental plaque was higher in Dongxiang and Baoan races than in Yugu race. 3) The children's everyday brushing rate was higher in Yugu race than in Dongxiang and Baoan races (P<0.01). But there were no difference between Dongxiang and Baoan races., Conclusion: The caries prevalence rates of 12-year-old children in Dongxiang, Baoan and Yugu races are high. The main factors of high caries prevalence rate were low brushing rate and dental plaque couldn't be removed effectively. Oral health education should be strengthened in the three race areas.
