As X80 pipelines are applied in large scale, the safety of long-term service of long-distance oil and gas pipelines has attracted much attention. In order to solve the problem of detecting the inner surface crack defects of pipelines, experimental research has been conducted for the laser ultrasonic nondestructive detection method characterized by noncontact and high precision, which was also applied to the inner surface crack defect detection of X80 pipelines. The laser ultrasonic signals in the areas of X80 pipeline specimen with/without cracks and the laser ultrasonic based B-scan detection and imaging were obtained through experimental measurement. Meanwhile, the influence of crack defects on laser ultrasonic signal were analyzed. The research results indicate that: the inner surface crack defects of pipelines can be detected and accurately located through the laser ultrasonic based B-scan. Hence, the laser ultrasonic based B-scan is valuable for promotion and application in the nondestructive detection of pipelines.(9 Figures, 21 References)

The lack of reference materials, and chlorine loss are two of the problems that need to be solved in order to aid the determination of major components in rock salt by X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry. It is important to select an appropriate sample pretreatment method to ensure reproducibility and it has been demonstrated that sodium chloride, calcium sulfate and other components in synthetic calibration materials for the pressed pellets method show a tendency of diffusion towards the pellet surface when samples are exposed to X-ray irradiation. Moreover, the decomposition of sodium chloride makes it difficult to obtain a stable calibration curve. The fusion bead method, however, does not exhibit these problems. In the study documented in this paper, samples were prepared by the fusion method. Synthetic calibration materials used for standard curve establishment were prepared by mixing spectrum pure salts/oxides with sediment/soil reference materials. 0.6 g of sample was fused by 10 g of mixing flux of lithium tetraborate and lithium metaborate (12:22) at 1000℃ for 300 s pre-fusion and for another 300 s fusion, followed by 30 s standing. The resulting glass disk was flat and transparent. No extra release agent was added because the samples contained chlorine. Analytical results of the major components in salt rock yielded a precision of less than 1.5% (relative standard deviation). This method shortens the analysis time and reduces the reagent consumption compared with the traditional method, which is an alternative method for analyzing major components in salt rock.

Objective To explore the anesthesia induction effects of dexmedetomidine combined with ketamine on patients with difficult airway and the incidence of adverse reactions during intubations. Methods 40 patients with difficult airway were admitted into ICU and were randomly divided into two groups. Group A: 20 cases received anesthesia induction intravenously of dexmedetomidine combined ketamine pre-intubation. Group B: 20 cases received anesthesia induction intravenously of midazolam combined with fentanyl pre-intubation. If RASS > -1, additional dexmedetomidine were repeatedly administered for group A, and additional midazolam for group B, until the RASS ≤-1. All patients' spontaneous breathing were kept, tracheal intubation were implemented at once guided by fiberobronchoscopy after successful anesthesia induction. We compared the time consumed during the procedure between the two groups, and the changes of HR and MAP at pre-induction (TO), post-induction (T1) and after 5 minutes of tracheal intubation (T2) . The adverse reactions such as respiratory depression, nausea, bucking and restlessness were observed and recorded during the process of induction and intubation. Results There were no significant differences in demographic characteristics, the time consumed to intubation, and the MAP, HR at T0 between the two groups. Patients' MAP and HR had no obvious changes and kept relatively stable in group A, but decreased obviously in group B at T1 and T2 (P < 0.01). The incidence of adverse reactions during intubations was lower in group A than in group B (P < 0.05). Conclusions The anesthesia induction of dexmedetomidine combined with ketamine can be considered as an excellent alternative for the patients with difficult airway to intubate, which does not result in respiratory depression and has less adverse reactions compared to midazolam combined with fentanyl. Objective To investigate the short-term effects aminophylline on bradycardia in adult patients with acute cervical spinal cord injury. Methods Sixty patients (heart rate ≤ 50 bpm) with cervical spinal cord injury were admitted into ICU and randomly divided into two groups. Group A: 30 patients were infused intravenously with 0.5mg atropine firstly, and then atropine 3mg mixed with normal saline to 48ml was given as a 24 hours intravenous infusion continuously at a speed of 2 mL/h via a pump. Group B: 30 patients were infused intravenously with 0.125 g aminophylline, and then aminophylline 0.5 g mixed with normal saline to 48ml was given as a 24 hours intravenous infusion continuously at a speed of 2 mL/h via a pump. At the same time, blood drug concentrations of aminophylline were detected every 2 days. The definition of good effects was heart rate ≥ 60 bpm after administration of drugs. Adverse reactions such as abdominal distension, vomiting and constipation in the two groups were observed and recorded respectively. Results ISS, sex, age, weight, and heart rate baseline when enrolled had no differences between the two groups (P > 0.05). The effective rate of treatment in group B (90.00%) was higher than that of group A (46.67%) (P < 0.01). But the incidence of adverse reactions in group B were lower than those in group A (P < 0.05). Blood drug concentrations of theophylline were 1.55-5.27 mg/L. Conclusion Administration of aminophylline on patients with acute cervical spinal cord injury has good effects for bradycardia, which can improve cure rate effectively, and has fewer adverse reactions than atropine. Background: m6A RNA methylation modification plays an important role in the occurrence and progression of lung cancer and regulates tumor immunity. Current studies mostly focus on the differential expression of some specific m6A effectors and infiltrating immune cell. m6A methylation modification is the result of mutual adjustment and balance between effectors, and changes in the expression of one or two effectors are far from enough to reflect the panorama of m6A methylation. The role of m6A in the immune microenvironment of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is still poorly understood. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of different m6A modification patterns in immune microenvironment of LUAD., Methods: LUAD data was obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), University of California Santa Cruz Xena (UCSC Xena) and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) databases. Gene mutation, differential expression and survival analysis were performed for 24 m6A effectors. The m6A modification pattern was constructed by unsupervised clustering method, and the m6A clusters survival analysis, gene set variation analysis, immune score and immune cell infiltration analysis were performed. The association between LRPPRC protein expression levels and infiltration of CD8+ cytotoxic T lymphocytes and CD68+ macrophages in the tumor microenvironment was validated by immunohistochemistry in LUAD tissue microarray with 68 cases., Results: The mutations of m6A effector were found in 150 of 567 LUAD cases with a frequency of 26.46%. 6 readers and 3 writers were significantly up regulated in LUAD tissues compared with normal tissues. IGF2BP1 and HNRNPC are the independent risk factors for prognosis of LUAD. Abundant cross-talks among writers, erasers and readers were demonstrated. Three m6A modification patterns with different immune cell infiltration characteristics and clinical prognosis were established. Among m6A effectors, LRPPRC was found to be inversely associated with the infiltration of CD8+ cytotoxic T lymphocytes and CD68+ macrophages, and was validated in 68 LUAD tissues., Conclusions: m6A modification patterns play non-negligible roles in regulating the immune microenvironment. LRPPRC has potential to be a new biomarker for checkpoint inhibitor immunotherapy.

To understand the potential role of soil seed bank in natural vegetation restoration of Populus deltoides cutting slash in Lake Dongting, the structure and diversity of soil seed bank and its relationship with vegetation and soil parameters were observed and analyzed on the lake beach in the first two years after P. deltoides cutting, with P. deltoides lake beach as control (CK). A total of 65 plant species germinated in soil seed bank, belonging to 59 genera and 23 families. The density of soil seed bank and number of species ranked as 1-year cutting slash (11810 seeds·m -2 , 49 species)> 2-year cutting slash (9686 seeds·m -2 , 44 species)> CK (6735 seeds·m -2 , 29 species). Compared with CK, species diversity of the perennial mesophytes and hygrophytes in the soil seed bank and aboveground vegetation of cutting slash, as well as the similarity coefficient between soil seed bank and aboveground vegetation, increased. Soil water content and nutrient content increased, while the pH decreased. Soil water content and organic matter were closely related to the distribution of hydrophytes such as Polygonum hydropiper , while total potassium and phosphorus contents had a greater influence on the distribution of perennial species such as Phalaris arundinacea . In summary, during the natural restoration of P. deltoides cutting slash in Lake Dongting, with the changes of soil physicochemical properties, species richness and density of soil seed bank increased significantly, and the diversity of aboveground vegetation species therefore increased. Soil seed bank is an important propagule source for the restoration of wetland vegetation in cutting slash.

To establish the quantitative analysis multi-components with a single-marker(QAMS) method for six components and fingerprint of standard decoction of Gastrodiae Rhizoma, verify the accuracy and feasibility of the method, and evaluate the quality of standard decoction. Based on UPLC with gastrodin as the internal standard, relative correction factors of p-hydroxybenzyl alcohol, parishin E, parishin B, parishin C, parishin A and gastrodin were determined by investigating the column temperature, flow rate, chromatographic columns and multi-point concentration correction. The total contents in 18 batches of standard decoction of Gastrodiae Rhizoma and the similarity were determined to calculate the similarity. The results of standard curve method, external standard one-point method and quantitative analysis multi-components with a single-marker(QAMS) were compared, and the results showed that there was no significant difference among these three methods. By analyzing the results of standard decoctions from different origins, it can be seen that the quality of Gastrodia standard decoctions derived from Anhui and Yunnan was better, followed by Shaanxi and Hubei, and relatively poor in Gansu, with similarities all above 0.90 in the fingerprints. Therefore, the QAMS method that can measure the contents of gastrodin, p-hydroxybenzyl alcohol, parishin E, parishin B, parishin C and parishin A in standard decoction of Gastrodiae Rhizoma combined with fingerprint is accurate, feasible and fast, which can be used to evaluate the quality of standard decoction of Gastrodiae Rhizoma, and also provide a reference for the research on the quality standards of raw materials for Gastrodiae Rhizoma prepared slices and alike.

This study assessed the dynamics of lakes in the north Tanggula Mountains in Tibet (NT area) and predicted the spatial changes. We used object-oriented classification and a spectral-angle vector change detection method to generate ecosystem distribution data for the NT area at five-year interval between 2000 and 2015. Based on this dataset, we measured the spatial pattern of lake dynamics and related geophysical and meteorological factors. A boost regression tree model was used to examine the contribution of these variables to lake area change, which were further used in a GEOMOD model to predict the distribution of lakes in 2030. The results showed that the area of lakes increased by 14.2% between 2000 and 2015, which was one of the main forms of ecosystem change in the NT area. In the study region, the area of 10 lakes out of the total 15 lakes with an area greater than 10 km 2 increased and that of another five lakes decreased with a relatively low shrinkage ratio. Both the mean site area and site number of lakes increased, and the percentage of large lake sites increased slightly. Lakes located in areas with high altitude, high slope, low tempe-rature, low precipitation, or near glaciers had a higher probability of size increase. Locales near the current lake sites with low temperature, precipitation, and slope tended to become new parts of extant lakes. Following the trend of the last 15 years, lakes in the NT area would increase by 119 km 2 by 2030, with the main form of lake expansion changing from inundation of area around large lakes to area around smaller sites.

Cardiovascular diseases have the characteristics of high morbidity and high mortality, and are recognized as the first cause of death by World Health Organization in World Health Statistics 2016. In recent years, traditional Chinese medicines have been widely applied in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, while studies for integrated traditional Chinese and western medicines for treating cardiovascular diseases have made a great progress. Xiongshao capsule was developed by Academician Chen Keji according to classic formula Xuefu Zhuyu decoction and composed of effective parts of Rhizoma Ligusticum Wallichii and Radix Paeonia Rubra, with remarkable therapeutic effects on angina pectoris, restenosis after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI), atherosclerosis, dyslipidemia and so on. With the fusion and application of biological and information technologies in clinical practice, precision medicine has become a more precise positioning and sublimation of individualized medicine. Based on the concept of precision medicine, great developments have taken place in genetic diagnosis and targeted therapy of lung cancer, leukemia, breast cancer and other diseases, genetic diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases, and researches on gene polymorphisms and combination of disease identification and syndrome typing. However, there are still some problems. In the big data analysis era, how to organically combine precision medicine with essence research of syndromes, how to establish a new methodological system based on basic theories of Chinese medicine (CM) in accordance with clinical practice of CM and integrative medicine (IM) are both the difficulties and breakthrough points for Chinese medicine and pharmacy (CMP). They are of significance in promoting modernization of CMP.

Objective To observe the correlation between blood glucose fluctuation in type 2 dia- betes mellitus ( T2DM) patients and vascular endothelial injury/platelet activation/protein kinase Cβ1 (PKCpβ1). Methods Capillary blood was collected from finger tips of 38 T2DM patients at 7 time points, i.e., before 3 meals, 2 h after 3 meals, 21:00 pm before sleep. The mean amplitude of plasma glucose excursions (MAGE) was calculated. The peripheral blood platelet aggregation rate (PAG) induced by a- denosine diphosphate (ADP) and platelet membrane protein level of CD62p were determined by platelet fluorescent aggregometer and flow cytometry respectively. HbAlc was measured by ion-exchange high- performance liquid chromatography. Serum levels of E-selectin, von Willebrand factor ( vWF), and PKCβ1 were detected by ELISA. Meanwhile, liver and renal functions, blood lipids were also measured. Their blood pressure was measured and body mass index (BMI) calculated. By taking HbA1c as a moni- tored index for assessing long-term glucose control, MAGE as an indicator for assessing glucose fluctua- tion, the correlations between serum markers for vascular endothelial injury (levels of E-selectin and vWF)/platelet activation indices (PAG and CD62p expression) and PKCβ1 level/MAGE respectively were analyzed using Pearson correlation analysis and multivariant Logistic regression. The correlations be- tween PKCβ1 level and MAGE/HbA1 c were also analyzed. Results In simple correlation analysis, there were no significant correlations between age/BMI/course of disease/medical history/serum levels of E-se- lectin/vWF/PKCβ1/PAG/CD62p expression and MAGE (P >0. 05). There were significant correlations be- tween vascular endothelial injury markers ( E-selectin and vWF)/platelet activation indicators ( PAG, CD62p expression) and MAGE (r =0. 468, 0. 609, 0. 451 , 0. 674; P <0. 01). There were significant corre- lations between PKCβ1 and glucose assessment indicators (MAGE and HbA1c)/vascular endothelial inju- ry markers ( E-selectin and vWF) , platelet activation indicators ( PAG and CD62p expression) (r = 0. 643, 0. 705, 0. 394, 0. 665, 0. 441 , 0. 577; P <0. 01). Conclusion PKCβ1 , the key regulatory gene of coronary artery disease with blood stasis syndrome, was closely related with the degree of vascular en- dothelial injury and aggregation level of platelet activation in T2DM patients with blood glucose fluctuation.

More attentions have been paid to the development of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines (ECPGs) of Chinese medicine (CM). International guideline evaluation instruments such as Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation (AGREE I) has been gradually applied in ECPGs quality evaluation of CM. Nowadays, there are some certain methodological defects in partial ECPGs of Chinese medicine, with relatively low applicability and slowly update. It is suggested to establish technical specifications of CM-ECPGs in accordance with the characteristics of CM and international general specification, strengthen the quality evaluation of CM-ECPGs, attach great importance to the regularly update as well as popularization and application of CM-ECPGs.

Objective: To evaluate the different pathological and clinical characteristics of thymomas with and without myasthenia gravis (MG) and to determine whether the presence of MG influences the prognosis in thymoma patients., Methods: The clinical data from 228 consecutive patients (median sternotomy were used in 153, video-assisted thoracoscopic themectomy were used in 75) operated on from January 1992 to December 2007 was analyzed retrospectively. These thymoma patients had been subdivided into two groups: thymoma with MG (n = 125) and thymoma without MG (n = 103). All thymic epithelial tumors were classified according to the WHO histologic classification and the Masaoka clinical staging system. The result was evaluated according to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America's criterion. The clinical features of the 2 test was compared between the two groups by χ² test, and the survival were compared between the two groups by Cox analysis., Results: There were no peri-operative deaths. 19 cases were inoperable (6 in the group with MG, 13 without MG (χ² = 4.52, P = 0.035)). The proportions of type A and thymic carcinoma were 0 in the group with MG, 10.5% (11/103) and 11.6% (12/103) respectively in the group without MG. According to the Masaoka's clinical staging, in the group MG, 24.8% (31/125) patients were stage III and IV; in the group without MG, 33.0% (34/103) patients were stage III and IV. There was a significant difference between hyperplastic paraneoplastic thymus coexisting in 28.8% (36/125) patients with MG and only 5.8% (6/103) in patients without MG (χ² = 20.91, P = 0.000) Microthymoma was identified in the paraneoplastic thymus of 3 patients with MG. There were 198 patients followed up, the rate was 86.8% (198/228). There was no recurrence in patients with type A and a few patients with type AB, B1, B2, B3 thymoma and thymic carcinoma recurred. The actuarial 5- and 10-year survival rates were 89.3% and 81.2% for patients with MG respectively, and 90.0% and 78.9% for patients without MG respectively. Within 5 years postoperatively, 6 of 9 patients with MG died of myasthenia crisis, while 6 out of 7 deaths in patients without MG were attributable to inoperable tumors (stage IV) and thymic carcinoma., Conclusions: The existence of myasthenia gravis has little influence on the prognosis of thymomas, but it is good for early diagnosis and treatment. Extended thymectomy should be performed to all patients with thymoma, no matter they have myasthenia gravis or not. The main cause of death is myasthenia crisis for thymoma patients with MG and stage IV and (or) thymic carcinoma for patients without MG.

Objective: To introduce practical diagnostic criterion of blood stasis syndrome (BSS), and to evaluate its reliability and validity., Methods: By referring to three diagnostic criteria of BSS [practical diagnostic criterion of BSS (criterion A), diagnostic criterion of BSS in 1986 (criterion B), Consensus of Integrative Medicine on BSS Diagnosis in 2011 (criterion C)], 712 patients from different departments of Xiyuan Hospital were recruited. The reliability of criterion A and its consistency with the other two criteria were assessed using Kappa coefficient. A Bayesian approach was also employed to assess the sensitivity and specificity of criterion A., Results: According to the consistency check, criterion A presented good consistency when used by different researchers (the diagnostic accordance rate was 91. 96%, Kappa =0. 82, P <0.001). Meanwhile, there was an acceptable diagnostic consistency among the three diagnostic criteria. Bayesian estimation suggested that criterion A had higher sensitivity but similar specificity, as compared with criterion B or criterion C. Compared with criterion B [the median of sensitivity and specificity were 0. 762 (95% Cl: 0. 731 -0. 790) and 0. 902 (95% Cl: 0. 858 -0. 936) respectively, the median of sensitivity and specificity of criterion A were 0. 911 (95% CI: 0. 888 - 0. 930) and 0. 875 (95% CI: 0. 826 - 0. 915) respectively. Estimating the difference between criterion A and B, the median of sensitivity and specificity were 0. 149 (95% CI: 0. 112 -0.184) and -0. 026 (95% CI:-0. 085 -0. 033) respectively. Compared with criterion C [the median of sensitivity and specificity were 0. 831 (95% Cl: 0. 804 -0. 857) and 0. 892 (95% CI: 0. 848 - 0. 926) respectively], the median of sensitivity and specificity of criterion A were 0. 912 (95% CI: 0. 889 -0. 932) and 0. 880 (95%CI: 0. 833 - 0.919) respectively. Estimating the difference between criterion A and C, the median of sensitivity and specificity were 0. 081 (95% CI: 0.047 - 0.114) and -0.011 (95%CI: -0.070 -0.046) respectively., Conclusion: Compared with criterion B and C, criterion A not only had better reliability, but also could significantly improve the sensitivity without obviously lowering the specificity.

Ginkgo is one of the most successful cases of botanical drugs developed by modern science and technology during the past fifty years all over the world. At present ginkgo has been applied to the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease widely, and has good clinical efficacy. Type 2 diabetes has been proved to be the risk equivalents of cardiovascular disease, therefore it has an important scientific significance for looking for more effective drugs of prevention and control of diabetes. To seek more efficient and safe drug from the plant medicine which has the function of regulate blood sugar and improve insulin resistance becomes a hotspot at home and abroad. Basic and clinical studies have shown the ginkgo preparations of Chinese medicine have certain regulation effect on blood sugar and insulin resistance. In this paper, we review the mechanisms and clinical applications of ginkgo preparations on diabetes and its applications during the past 10 years.

Objective: To explore combination rules of Chinese herbal prescriptions from effective cases for treatment of unstable angina (UA)., Methods: Prescription data from 156 UA patients effectively treated at Cardiovascular Diseases Centre of Xiyuan Hospital were analyzed using complex network method., Results: According to multi-scale analysis of backbone network and pointwise mutual information analysis, core prescriptions from the 156 UA patients were presented as follows: Rhizoma Ligustici wallichii, Radix Paeoniae rubra, Radix Codonopsis, Rhizoma Pinelliae, poria, and Angelica sinensis. Meanwhile, core couplet medicines for these patients covered Rhizoma Ligustici wallichii and Radix paeoniaerubra, Angelica sinensis and Rhizoma Ligustici wallichii, Radix Codonopsis and Rhizoma Ligustici wallichii, Rhizoma Ligustici wallichii and Rhizoma Pinelliae, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae and poriacocos, Bulbus Alli Macrostemi and Rhizoma Pinelliae. Among different primary symptoms, there was slightly difference in core prescriptions., Conclusion: The core prescriptions for the treatment of UA include blood-activating drug, phlem-resolving drugs. As an exploration of combination rules of Chinese herbal prescriptions in treating UA based on complex network, it can be used as a reference for further researches.

Blood stasis theory (BST) is widely used in the department of Chinese medical dermatology. Skin lesion we often see and modern medical examination results can be used as evidence for diagnosing BST and indications for using it. Better efficacy could also be obtained by using BST in treating wind evil or heat evil induced skin disease, and itching, hemorrhagic and stubborn dermatoses as well.

The progress in integrative medicine (IM) of coronary heart disease (CHD) in 2013 was summarized in this paper. Gratifying progress has taken place both in clinical studies and basic research of IM on CHD during 2013. We got some innovation in Chinese medical etiologies and pathogeneses of CHD. We also got some improvement in researches on Chinese medical syndromes in various fields. Many clinical studies have proved Chinese medicine and pharmacy is playing a role in preventing and improving CHD patients. In-depth basic researches on preventing and treating CHD by IM are gradually undergoing. Acting targets and mechanism are further clarified. Besides, we also pointed out the developing tendency of CHD researches and the current deficiency in CHD researches, hoping to provide reference for further studies in this field.

Objective: To evaluate the anginal attack-relieving efficacy and safety of Kuanxiong Aerosol (KA) in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD)., Methods: A total of 780 patients confirmatively diagnosed as CHD angina from November 2011 to December 2012 in 13 medical centers in the mainland area were assigned to 2 groups by blocked randomization, the treatment group (376 cases) and the control group (374 cases). When the angina attacked, patients in the treatment group received sublingual spray three times, 0.6 mL each time, while those in the control group sublingually dissolved Nitroglycerin Tablet (NT), 0.5 mg each tablet. The effective rate of angina relief, efficacy of electrocardiogram (ECG), and the incidence of adverse reactions were observed., Results: The 3 min and 5 min remission rates of angina attack were 53.72% (202/376) and 94.41% (355/376) in the treatment group, and 47.86% (179/374) and 90.64% (339/374) in the control group. The 95% confidence interval (CI) of the difference between the 2 groups of 3 min and 5 min remission rates of angina attacks were [(-1.84%, 12.32%) and (-1.33%, 6.85%) respectively, P > 0.05]. The total improvement rates of ST-T changes in the treatment group and the control group after treatment were 74.07% and 73.13% respectively (P > 0.05). The adverse reaction rate was 9.31 (35/376 cases) in the treatment group and 22.46% (84/374 cases) in the control group (P < 0.01)., Conclusion: KA was not inferior to NT in relieving anginal attacks and improving ischemic ECG changes, and had obviously less adverse reaction.

Objective: To explore the antitumor effects of 2-deoxyglucose (2-DG) plus docetaxel (Doc) on PC3 and DU145 cells and its mechanism., Methods: The proliferation of cells was detected by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) assay. Then propidium iodide (PI) staining measured apoptotic cells on flow cytometry. ATP assay kit was used to detect ATP content. The expressions of proteins ubiquitinated protein (Ub) and Hsp70 were measured by Western blot., Results: 2-DG could inhibit proliferation of PC3 and DU145 cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner. However, it could not induce apoptosis in PC3 or DU145. The inhibition rates for PC3 proliferation at 48 h by Doc with concentrations of 0.1, 0.5, 2.5 nmol/L were 10.71%, 25.32% and 56.46% respectively. The inhibition rates for DU145 cell proliferation at 48h by Doc with concentrations of 0.1, 0.5, 2.5 nmol/L were 12.28%, 23.94% and 63.43% respectively. The inhibition rates for PC3 cell proliferation by Doc plus 2-DG with a concentration of 1.0 g/L were 27.15%, 58.74% and 87.95% respectively and 29.53%, 59.41%, and 90.48% for DU145 respectively. 2-DG could enhance the effectiveness of inhibition to PC3 and DU145 proliferation by Doc with a synergistic manner (all q>1.15). The apoptotic rates for PC3 and DU145 induced by Doc 0.5 nmol/L plus 2-DG 1.0 g/L at 48 h were 46.49% and 53.64% respectively. The apoptotic rates were significantly higher than Doc 0.5 nmol/L alone (21.30% for PC3 and 18.92% for DU145 respectively) (P < 0.05). The ATP relative concentration for PC3 in 2-DG 1.0 g/L at 0, 12, 24, 48, and 72 h were 13.75, 11.23, 10.19, 9.81 and 9.02 and for DU145 15.00, 12.59, 11.38, 10.54 and 10.37 respectively. Simultaneously, Western blot showed that Ub and Hsp70 protein were expressed intensively., Conclusions: 2-DG can enhance the sensitivity of androgen-independent prostate cancer cells to docetaxel. Its mechanism may be associated with the decrease of proteasome function.

The presence of atherosclerosis in ancient human beings suggested that aging and genetic predisposition might be essential risk factors for atherosclerosis.

Objective: To evaluate the validity, reliability, and clinical applicability of Chinese medicine syndrome diagnostic standards for coronary heart disease (CHD) patients after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), which was established by expert consultation., Methods: A total of 1 050 CHD patients after PCI were recruited from 23 hospitals. The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive likelihood ratio, and area under ROC curve were used to evaluate the validity of diagnostic standards for Chinese medical syndrome types. The observable agreement rate and Kappa value were used to evaluate the reliability. Positive predictive value and negative predictive value were used to evaluate the clinical applicability., Results: The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive likelihood ratio, area under ROC curve, observable agreement rate, Kappa value, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value of each Chinese medicine syndrome in CHD patients after PCI were as follows: 95.26%, 93.70%, 94.86%, 15.13, 0.924, 98.76%, 0.969, 97.76%, and 87.24% for blood stasis syndrome; 96.42%, 95.34%, 96.00%, 20.70, 0.957, 99.52%, 0.990, 97.02%, and 94.42% for qi deficiency syndrome; 88.19%, 96.46%, 94.19%, 24.89, 0.923, 96.67%, 0.915, 90.39%, and 95.58% for phlegm turbidity syndrome; 91.06%, 98.77%, 97.05%, 74.22, 0.950, 98.67%, 0.960, 95.54%, and 97.46% for cardiac blood stasis syndrome; 98.41%, 96.73%, 97.33%, 30.10, 0.976, 98.86%, 0.976, 94.40%, and 99.09% for qi deficiency blood stasis syndrome; 94.81%, 94.75%, 94.76%, 18.07, 0.948, 97.71%, 0.918, 72.73%, and 99.20% for phlegm-stasis stagnation syndrome., Conclusion: The validity, reliability, and clinical applicability of Chinese medicine syndrome diagnostic standards for CHD patients after PCI were rational and considerable in clinical practice.

Objective: To initially optimize comprehensive treatment program for treating and preventing unstable angina (UA) by integrative medicine (IM)., Methods: Based on partially observable Markov decision process model (POMDP), we chose 3 syndrome elements, i.e., qi deficiency, blood stasis, and phlegm turbidity from UA inpatients. The efficacy of treating UA by IM was objectively assessed by in-depth data mining and analyses., Results: The treatment programs for UA patients of qi deficiency syndrome, blood stasis syndrome, and phlegm turbidity syndrome were recommended as follows: nitrates +statins +clopidogrel +angiotensin II receptor blockers +heparins +Astragalus membranaceus +Condonopsis + poria and large-head atractylodes rhizome (ADR = 0.85077869); nitrates + aspirin + clopidogrel + statins + heparins + Astragalus membranaceus + safflower + peach seed + red peony root (ADR = 0.70773000); nitrates + aspirin + statins + angiotensin-converting inhibitors + snakegourd fruit + onion bulb + ternate pinellia + tangerine peel (ADR = 0.72509600)., Conclusion: As a POMDP based optimized treatment programs for UA, it can be used as a reference for further standardization and formulation of UA program by integrative medicine.

In recent years a huge amount of clinical studies have proved that fluctuant hypertension could aggravate the damage of target organs and increase the incidence of acute cardio-/cerebrovascular events, when compared with stable hypertension [increased mean artery blood pressure (MBP)]. How to prevent and treat fluctuant hypertension and its damage of target organs has become one of the hot and difficult problems in the field of hypertension studies all over the world. Hypertensive patients often suffer from thromboembolic target organ damage. Platelet activation plays a key role in this progress, but its concrete mechanisms have not been clearly clarified. Based on the in-depth discussions on progress of fluctuant hypertension, its relationship with platelet activation and blood stasis syndrome of Chinese medicine (CM) in recent three years, we proposed, under the fluctuant hypertensive state, the prethrombotic state has occurred in the organisms, i.e., a pathological state featured by platelet activation, liable to have vulnerable thrombopoiesis, and accompanied by endothelial dysfunction. Blood stasis syndrome might occupy an important position in CM syndrome typing of fluctuant hypertension. Herbs for activating blood circulation and removing stasis might have an extensive application prospect.

Objective: To explore the roles of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) on tube formation induced by xuefu zhuyu decoction (XZD) under non-anoxia condition., Methods: Using serum pharmacology technique, endothelial cell line ECV304 cells were incubated in routine 95% O2. ECV304 cells were intervened by 1.25%, 2.50%, and 5.00% XZD containing serums and the vehicle serum for 48 h. The effects of XZD on tube formation, bFGF contents and its transcription levels were assessed by in vitro tube formation assay, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), respectively., Results: Three concentrations of XZD containing serums could not only obviously promote the tube formation bFGF level, but also up-regulate bFGF contents in the supernate and its transcription levels. The shapes of lumens were more regular in those induced by 1.25% and 2.50% XZD containing serums., Conclusion: XZD induced angiogenesis via up-regulating the bFGF expression under non-anoxia condition.

Objective: To investigate the function of VEGF pathway in promoting angiogenesis with Xuefu Zhuyu Tang (XFZYT)., Method: Serum pharmacology technique was adopted to treat endothelial cells ECV304 with XFZYD containing serum and blank serum with concentrations of 1.25%, 2.5% and 5%. Methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) assay, boyden chamber migration assay and in vitro vessel formation assay were used to test endothelial cell proliferation, migration and angiogenesis capacities. ELISA, immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR were used to detect secretion and expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2 (VEGFR2)., Result: XFZYT-CS with a concentration of 1.25% only affected angiogenesis capacity in vitro. XFZYT-CS with a concentration of 2. 5% promoted cell proliferation, migration and angiogenesis capacities and significantly increased VEGF level and VEGF/VEGFR2 expressions. XFZYT-CS with a concentration of 5% only up-regulated intracellular VEGF expression and thereby improving endothelial cell proliferation, migration and angiogenesis., Conclusion: XFZYT can induce endothelial cell proliferation, migration and angiogenesis by up-regulating VEGF-VEGFR2 pathway, which partially proves its angiogenesis effects.
