ObjectiveTo analyze the characteristics and changing trend of injury cause of mortality of residents in Qingpu District from 2002 to 2020， and to provide scientific reference for formulating regional prevention and control measures.MethodsThe injury mortality data of the registered residents in Qingpu District from 2002 to 2020 were collected. The indicators such as crude mortality rate， standardized mortality rate， and the ranking of causes of death were calculated.ResultsFrom 2002 to 2020， the average annual crude mortality rate was 50.27/ 100 000， the age-standardized mortality rate based on the world standard population（ASRW） was 30.08/100 000， and the age-standardized mortality rate based on the 2010 Chinese census（ASMRC） was 35.58/100 000. ObjectiveTo establish the Shanghai twin birth cohort （STBC） and analyze the effects of genetic factors， shared environment， and non-shared environment interactions on birth health and growth and development of newborns.MethodsBased on the population-wide birth cohort in Shanghai， a comprehensive survey was conducted on the families with double and multiple babies born after January 1， 2015 to collect information on birth health， growth and development， and the family environment of the babies.ResultsBy December 31， 2021， a total of 7 195 pairs （14 405 cases） of twins were successfully included in the STBC survey. The average birth length of twins was 47.2 cm and average birth weight was 2 465.3 g. Heterozygous twins accounted for 69.05% and preterm babies accounted for 57.07%. The average age of the mothers of twins was 31.82 years， and the average age of the fathers was 33.87 years， with more than 80% of the parents having a college degree or above. 44.50% of the mothers used assisted reproductive technologies， 7.40% had illnesses during pregnancy， and 15.90% were exposed to passive smoking during pregnancy. During the survey period， the average monthly increase in the length of the twin infants was 2.09 cm， and the average monthly weight gain was 0.53 kg.ConclusionThe incidence of adverse outcomes such as maternal cesarean section rate， preterm birth， and low birth weight is higher in the twin birth population. Information on birth health as well as growth and development in childhood and adolescence in the twin birth population is collected based on STBC， which can provide a solid data foundation for studying children’s chronic non-communicable diseases， psychological and behavioral disorders and other complex health problems caused by the combined effects of genetics and the environment.

ObjectiveTo determine the epidemiological characteristics of a cluster of SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant at a construction site and provide evidence for further COVID-19 prevention and control.MethodsDemographic data of all COVID-19 cases at a construction site in Qingpu District， Shanghai， and basic information of the construction site were retrospectively collected through filed investigation. Descriptive epidemiology was used for the analysis. Basic reproduction number （R0） and time-dependent reproduction number （Rt） were calculated using R program.ResultsDuring April 12 and May 8， 2022， a total of 314 cases were reported at the construction site， with an attack rate of 60.62%. ObjectiveTo learn about the fertility level and gender changes of household registration in Qingpu District from 2012 to 2020， and to provide a theoretical basis for the population development planning.MethodsBirth information of newborns with household registration in Qingpu District from 2012 to 2020 was collected through the Shanghai birth medical certificate information system and the public security department. Access 2003 software was used to combine the data，and Excel 2010 software for statistical analysis.ResultsThere were 28 284 live births in household registered in Qingpu District from 2012 to 2020. The crude birth rate was 6.57‰，and the total fertility rate was 30.29‰. Comprehensive fertility rate was 1.12. The sex ratio at birth was 105.49.ConclusionThere is a low fertility level in Qingpu District. The proportion of the second child increased year by year but decreased after 2017. Negative population growth is intensified year by year.

A method was developed for the determination of organochlorine pesticide (OCP) residues in soil/sediment using high resolution gas chromatography coupled with low resolution mass spectrometry. The analytical procedures consisted of Soxhlet extraction, sulfur removal with copper powder, clean-up with gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and a florisil column of solid phase extraction (SPE). The analytes were separated on an HP-5MS capillary column, detected in selected ion monitoring ( SIM) mode and quantified using internal standard calibration curves of isotope dilution technique. The linear correlations of calibration standard solutions were good for all the OCPs. The recoveries and relative standard deviations of labeled compound solutions ranged from 60% to 110% and from 1.5% to 18%, respectively. The limits of detection ranged from 0.20 to 10.3 microg/kg were established for the 23 OCPs. The method showed satisfactory clean-up effect and precision quantification. It is suitable for the determination and confirmation of pesticides in complex matrices such as soil, sediment.

Objective: To study the bioactivities of the extracts from Pinellia ternata against Plutella xylostella., Method: The active material in P. ternata was Soxhlet extracted with petroleum ether, ethyl acetate, ethanol successively. The bioactivities of the extracts were determined., Result: Results indicated that all extracts using three solvents showed inhibition of oviposition and ovicidal action activities, but the activity of ethanol extract was the strongest. The higher concentration, the more obviously the effect on the pest was. 24 h after treatment with 100 g x L(-1) ethanol extract in no-choice tests and choice tests, the deterrent rates were 85.13%, 73.38%, respectively. Furthermore, treatment with 100 g x L(-1) ethanol extract after 5 d could effectively reduced the percentage of eggs incubation, ovicidal rate could reach 62.40%., Conclusion: These results suggest that extracts of P. ternata could be used to control pest.

A method was established for the simultaneous determination of some phthalic acid esters, namely, dimethyl phthalate (DMP), diethyl phthalate (DEP), dipropyl phthalate (DPrP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP), diamyl phthalate (DAP), dihexyl phthalate (DHP), benzyln-butyl phthalate (BBP), di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), dicyclohexyl phthalate (DCHP), di-n-octyl phthalate (DNOP), diisononyl phthalate (DINP) and diisodecyl phthalate (DIDP) in textiles by solid phase extraction (SPE) coupled with gas chromatography (GC). The phthalic acid esters in textiles were extracted by Soxhlet extraction with hexane, the extracts were then cleaned up and enriched by a strong anion exchange (SAX) SPE cartridge. The parameters affecting the purification efficiency of SPE cartridge, such as solvent conditioning, rinsing, and elution, were studied. Conditioning with 5 mL hexane and rinsing with 3 mL isooctane were proved to be the optimal conditions. Of the several solvent ratios (ethylacetate in hexane) used for selective elution of phthalic acid esters from the SAX SPE cartridge, the 15% (v/v) content for ethylacetate in hexane gave the best result. Under the optimized conditions, the recoveries of phthalic acid esters for spiked standards (n=7) were 86.3%-102.7%, and the relative standard deviations (RSDs) were less than 5%. In this method the detection limits for DMP, DEP, DPrP, DBP, DAP, BBP, DCHP, DEHP, DNOP were all below 1 mg/kg, and the detection limits for DINP and DIDP were 1.74 mg/kg and 1.55 mg/kg respectively. This SPE-GC method is sensitive, accurate and suitable for the analysis of phthalate environmental hormones in textiles.

The accumulation of heavy metals in soil could give impact to the environment, and the impact is related to the accumulated heavy metals' bioavailability and mobility. This paper studied the feasibility of four methods, i. e., total analysis, sequential fractionation, chemical extraction, and column leaching, in evaluating the bioavailability and mobility, and the results showed that because of the difference in chemical forms of the metals in different soils, the total concentration of the metals in soil was not suitable to evaluate their bioavailability and mobility. Exchangeable forms of the metals obtained by chemical fractionation could better reflect, while the organic matter-bound forms of some metals had definite correlation with the bioavailability and mobility. There were no significant correlations between the oxides-bound and residual metals and the bioavailability and mobility. Column leaching was also feasible to evaluate the bioavailability and mobility. 0.01 mol x L(-1) CaCl2 and 1 mol x L(-1) NH4OAc extractable metals were significantly correlated with the metals concentrations in surface runoff and plant, and could better predict the potential runoff of heavy metals from soil and the accumulation of the metals in plants.
