Objective This paper discusses the quality requirements of ethane for the production of ethylene to determine the different quality requirements of ethane for different utilization and transportation ways, and further discusses the detection methods of different quality indicators of ethane in order to provide technical support for the relevant industry producing ethane from natural gas.Methods This paper mainly refers to the quality requirements of ethane products in the American Gas Processing Engineering Data Manual (GPSA) and the PetroChina enterprise standard of Q/SY 01027-2019 Technical specification of ethane extracted from natural gas. Based on these two documents, the quality requirements and indexes of gaseous and liquid ethane products in China were studied and discussed intensively, respectively. Results The ethane products may be divided into three classes according to their gaseous and liquid characteristics. Ethane products come from natural gas, so it is appropriate to use natural gas sampling method for sampling and to use related analysis and test standards of natural gas for its main quality determination. Conclusions At present, there are no national or industrial standards for ethane products in China. It is suggested that the relevant departments should faciliate the development process of national or industrial standards for ethane products to uniformly regulate the quality indicators, classification, inspection rules and delivery acceptance of ethane products. And then it can provide technical support for the implementation of ethane recovery projects, as well as promote the establishment of China’s ethane market and production system. Objective The co-cracking technology of ethane and propane is optimized. Methods The BSPA ethylene cracking evaluation test equipment of KBR company is used to optimize the separate cracking of ethane and propane and the blending cracking technology according to different ratios in the laboratory. Results When the blend proportion of ethane is 20 %- 90 %, t he yields of ethylene, diene and triene are increased. When the blend proportion of ethane is 80%-90%, the highest yields of ethylene, diene and triene are 55. 28 %, 56. 05 % and 58. 01 %, respectively. Conclusion T he optimized result is applied in industrial ethylene cracking plant, the total ethylene yield and the diene yield don't decrease when the proportion of light cracking feedst0ck in t he whole cracking feedstock reduced more than 10%, and the remarkable industrial application effect has been obtained. The flammability limit is an important parameter of combustion characteristics. In this paper, a flammability limit experimental device was set up based on the 5L cylindrical reactor. The flammability limits of ethane under CO2/O2 atmosphere were studied and compared with those in air atmosphere. The results showed that high concentration of CO2 reduces the upper flammability limit and increases the lower flammability limit of gas mixture. The influence of high concentration of CO2 on flammability limit was analyzed. The formula of calculation of flammability limit for CO2/O2was deduced according to the thermal theory. The average absolute deviation between the experimental values and calculated values is within 2.2%. The values of calculation are in agreement with the experimental data. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper introduced the imported LNG source status and LNG receiving station construction, discussed the utilization pathway of ethane and cold energy in LNG, put forward elevated proposal on accelerating LNG industry development. The suggestion was that China could speed up LNG resource distribution overseas, consider the combination of coastal petrochemical projects when building LNG receiving station, study the scientific utilization of LNG old energy deeply while speed up the LNG filling station construction, and advance the development of LNG as a transportation fuel, so as to guarantee the LNG market supply. This article proposes HYSYS computation model by researching on the operation data of cryogenic unit in Daqing Gas Company. Comparative analysis shows that the computation model agrees well with operation data. which corroborates the validity of the computation model. It was concluded that cryogenic unit can recovery ethane greatly by analyzing the components of associated gas. The model has advantages in adjusting and optimizing parameters, improving production rate, reducing energy consumption to the existing or proposed new cryogenic unit. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
