Hydro-pneumatic suspension has good nonlinear elastic and damping characteristics and is widely used in engineering vehicles. Accurately establishing a mathematical model of hydro-pneumatic suspension systems and a vehicle dynamics model is important to analyze the dynamic characteristics and vehicle ride comfort. Scholars usually study the vibration of a suspension system only based on the excitation of road roughness. However, engineering vehicle suspension is directly connected to the wheel drive motor shell, and the vibration forces can directly act on the suspension. It is necessary to consider coupling excitation of the drive motor and road roughness to analyze the practical vibration characteristics of the engineering vehicle suspension system. This paper took the pneumatic suspension vibration system in a mine dump truck as its study object. The method of describing the movement of the real vehicle pneumatic suspension systems approach was proposed based on the combined effect of motor excitation and road roughness. According to the vehicle system installation, the author drew out a system model, conducted various stress analysis, and created the system equations of motion. The gas elastic force term could be seen as an ideal gas processing and pressure was equal to the suffered loads when the suspension was in a static equilibrium position. The damping force term was calculated using a thin-walled holes mathematical model. The relative displacement was taken as an argument to establish the damping force equation. According to the geometry and electromagnetic parameters of the driving motor, its finite element analysis model was established by software to obtain the flux density distributions. The vertical excitation force of asynchronous motors was solved by a Maxwell-stress method. The numerical solution of the electromagnetic force at the given speed was calculated and imported into the system equations. Road roughness was the major incentive to the driving of the vehicle and it could be described by a stationary stochastic process theory. In this paper, a white noise filtering method was adopted to simulate random road. This paper made a simulation comparison on the ideal sine road. The vehicle tests on an ISO D level typical road and obstacle negotiation proceeded to verify the validity of the theory. The results showed that on a typical sinusoidal road surface, the difference was most obvious in the initial time after considering the motor excitation. The system output amplitude increased by about 10% and took a longer time to stabilize. The suspension output elastic force changed significantly, and the two frequencies tended to finally coincide. The vehicle tests showed that the high-frequency excitation force made the system acceleration power spectrum become larger under various conditions, and the coupled excited vibration model was more consistent with the measured data. Power spectrum analysis showed that acceleration increased significantly in the exciting force frequency and should not be ignored. In the evaluation of suspension ride comfort, human acceptable vertical amplitude decreases with increasing frequency. High-frequency vibration effects will be more obvious and should not be ignored. The comparison of measured data and simulation verified the effectiveness of the motor incentive model in the pneumatic suspension system. To ensure the ride comfort of the whole vehicle with an in-wheel motor, motor excitation force and road excitation should be considered simultaneously in the suspension design. The first low profile cross ventilated (LPCV) dairy cattle barn was built in fall 2005 in North Dakota. The barn is generally a fully enclosed facility characterized by a low roof pitch of 0.5/12 and a warehouse-type structure. It was introduced to China in 2009 and since that time several barns have been built in large dairy farms in China as a newly-developed dairy cattle barn type. The LPCV barn offers some of the advantages of natural ventilated and tunnel ventilated freestalls and allows producers to have some control over the cow's environment during all seasons of the year. But in China there are technical bottlenecks for environmental control problems in operation, including uneven distribution of indoor airflow, high-temperature and high-humidity in summer, low-temperature and high-humidity in winter et al. The use of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques to solve complex fluid problems has greatly increased in recent years. In this study, a full-scale dairy cattle house was modelled to investigate the distribution pattern of airflow in LPCV barn. The simulation of dairy cattle was considered to improve the reliability of the CFD model, as the presence of cows in barns can significantly influence air flow patterns and internal environmental conditions. The evaporative cooling pads on the air intake side of the barn were considered as porous media and the coefficients of the viscous and inertial resistances were determined by laboratory values. The performance curve of the exhaust fans on the air outtake side was measured in laboratory to establish the boundary conditions of the fans. Baffles are located over stalls in LPCV barn to increase air velocity in each freestall area. Simulation results shows that the problem of uneven flow distribution is generally exist in the barn. The wind speed differed greatly between the two sides of the baffle in the bedding area. The wind speed was significantly lower for the windward side compared with the other side. The main reason for the uneven flow distribution in the barn was the parapet below the neck rails. If there is no parapet, the average wind speed could increase by 60.6%, and the air uniformity coefficient could decrease by 68.7%. For the existing LPCV barn, keeping the baffle wall and the parapet unchanged, the air flow could be improved by the installation of a baffle on top of the neck rails of the windward of the feeding alley. The modification has a significant effect on the airflow distribution improvement, with the averaged wind velocity increased by 52.8%, the airflow uniformity coefficient decreased by 41.8%. The CFD model was validated via comparison with the field experimental results at the same locations where the sensors were installed. Comparison between simulations and measurements showed that the average relative error of the test and simulated value for the 28 test points was 17.1%, which indicates that there is a goodness of fit between field measurement and numerical simulation. And this study can provide references for the optimization design and environment regulation of LPCV dairy cattle barn in China. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the trends in studies published in Journal of Korean Critical Care Nursing (JKCCN) from 2008 to 2013. Methods: A total of 65 studies published between 2008 to 2013 were reviewed using criteria developed by researchers. Results: Approximately 36% of studies were conducted with patients. Intensive care unit (ICU) was the most popular site as the study setting. Among 59 research papers, 42.4% were approved by institutional review board (IRB). Quantitative studies were 78.6%, while qualitative studies were 4.6%. The research designs for the quantitative studies were survey (52.3%), quasi-experimental (16.9%), and so on. There was no randomized controlled trial. The most frequently used methods to provide nursing intervention was education. In addition, "nurse" and "ICU" were most commonly used keyword. Conclusion: Considering the low rate of IRB approval, more stringent application of research ethics is necessary to improve the quality of JKCCN. Purpose: The purpose of the study was to analyze the nursing activities related to continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) in the intensive care units (ICU). Methods: We developed a list of 31 CRRT related nursing activities based on literature review and reviewed by expert group. A total of 109 direct time measurement records by 43 ICU nurses were collected and analyzed in terms of total time per shift, frequency, standard time, difficulty and performance levels of each CRRT nursing activity. Results: The mean time for CRRT nursing activity was 85.60 minutes per 8 hour shift. Nurses have spent average 9.46±6.98 minutes in a shift for "waste fluid bag change" activity. In addition, "check catheter location" was the most time consuming single activity. The most difficult activity was "counseling-answer" and the most competent one was "dialysis solutions change". Conclusion: The CRRT nursing activities accounted for a significant portion of total nursing workload. Practical allocation of nursing staff for CRRT patient along with development of a new nursing cost system need to be considered. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between cost and revenue for inpatient nursing activities in general wards. Methods: Data were collected from 12 medical-surgical wards in one general hospital from January 1 to December 31, 2010. The nursing activities were categorized into 2 groups according to nursing service payment type in terms of the Korea health insurance system. Descriptive statistics were used to identify nursing activities and nursing activity costs. Results: Of 140 nursing activities identified as performed in general wards, payment for 69 items was included in nursing management fees. The percentage of each cost for the nursing units was 90% for labor, 4% for materials, and 6% for operating expenses. The cost for medical support nursing service accounted for 38% of costs and nursing management fees, 62%. The average profit and loss was -237,257,000 won. The cost recovery rate for nursing service was only 44%. Conclusion: The results indicate a need to measure the economic value of nursing activities performed in general wards and use it as a basis for establishing an adequate reimbursement system for nursing service. Purpose: This study was done to identify job tasks and task elements of Korean nurse anesthetists according to type of medical institution. Methods: A job task scale which consisted of 9 job tasks and 40 task elements was developed. Data were collected from December, 2009 to February, 2010 from 182 nurse anesthetists who were working in medical institutions (response rate: 75.8%). Results: Forty-eight percent of nurse anesthetists were independent from anesthesiologists in anesthetic practice. Preanesthetic nursing assessment was much more frequent in small hospitals than in general hospitals (p(.O5), and anesthetic nursing intervention, administering the anesthetics, monitoring the patient's status during anesthesia, and provision of safety and compliance with anesthetic ethics were much more frequent in general hospitals than medical centers (p<.001). There were no differences among the medical institutions for job tasks in post-anesthetic nursing interventions (p=229), administering anesthetics (p=.354) and monitoring patients' status during anesthesia (p=.O99), providing safe anesthetic environment (p=.89Q), and management of ancillary personnel/equipment (p=.617). Conclusion: Results indicate that nurse anesthetists contribute significantly to anesthetic practice in small hospitals and general hospitals. Therefore, it recommended that nursing leaders make efforts to enact legal nurse anesthetist-related policies for safe and high quality anesthetic nursing care. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: This study was designed to find differences between physical activity and health-related factors of Korean male adults. Methods: Using the 2010 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES V-1), the data of 1,876 Korean males over 30 years old who completed the Health Interview, Health Behavior Surveys and International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) were analyzed. Analysis of differences in physical activity according to socio-demographic factors, physical health-related factors and psychological health-related factors was tested using the F-test and chi-square test with SPSS 12.0. Results: The high physical activity group was merely 2.5% and the moderate group was 51.4%. In each group, the study showed significant differences in age (p=.017), education status (p=.019), and economic status (p=.032) of socio-demographic factors, in body mass index (p=.003), vitamin D (p=.020) and hypertension status (p=.007) of physical health-related factors, and in recognition of stress (p=.027) of psychological health-related factors. Conclusion: These results revealed that physical activity can play an important role in nursing intervention of physical and psychological health-related factors in male adults. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of preventing CAUTIs through the practice of using 0.05% chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG) versus normal saline for perineal care in ICU patients. Methods: A randomized controlled trial was used, and participants were randomly allocated to either the CHG group (n=79) or normal saline group (n=81). CAUTI was diagnosed following the criteria of the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Incidence of CAUTI and characte oftics of infection were evaluated. Results: In the CHG group, 8 epofodes of CAUTI were obsevend in 79 patients and 875 foley catheter e ys. Tnce ate of CAUTI was 9.14 per 1,000 foley catheter e ys. Tncre were 2 epofodes of CAUTI in the 81 patients and 837 foley catheter e ys of the normal saline group. Tnce ate of CAUTI was 2.39 per 1,000 foley catheter e ys. Tnc difference between both groups was not significant (p=.1e ConConclusevaluUsing normal saline to provide perineal care to ICU patients with a foley catheter inserted will not increase the risk for CAUTI.
