Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) oligomers were synthesized through a solution reaction using sulfolane as a solvent, the resultant oligomers were employed to synthesize high melt viscosity PEEK through solid-state polymerization in a twin-roller mixer. The effects of polymerization time on the crystallization properties, thermal properties and flowability of PEEK were investigated. The results indicated that both the degree of crystallinity and crystallization completeness of PEEK decreased with an increase in polymerization time. The degree of crystallinity of PEEK after polymerization for 5 h decreased by about 31. 4 % as compared to that of the oligomers. All samples possessed residual weights greater than 50 % at 900 °C, indicating outstanding thermal stability. In addition, the melt viscosities of PEEKs increased significantly with an increase in the polymerization time, and it reached approximately 13-360 times as high as that of oligomers. A novel fluorinated diamine monomer (FPMDA ) was synthesized from p-fluorobenzaldehyde and 2, 6-dimethylaniline, and then reacted with pyromellitic anhydride to obtain a fluorinated polyimide (FPI). The structures of the synthesized FPMDA diamine monomer and polyimide were characterized by FTIR, nuclear magnetic hydrogen spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry (MS) ;the thermal properties of the polyimide film were characterized using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The results showed that FPI has excellent solubility in solvents such as DMF, NMP, and THF. FPI also shows good thermal stability, under nitrogen environment, with thermal decomposition temperature Td5% of 550 °C, Td10% of 580 °C, and char yield of 58.7% at 1 000 °C, its glass transition temperature is greater than 400 °C . As a green and recyclable thermoplastic material, polypropylene (PP) has a good application prospect in high voltage cable line. However, its thermodynamic performance is difficult to directly meet the requirements of the cable line, so the PP material needs to be modified to meet the performance requirements. Therefore, based on molecular simulation technology, a nano-CaCO3/PP composite model with doping mass fraction of 3% and 7% nano-CaCO3 and doped grafted silane coupling agent was built, the data of thermal and mechanical properties were calculated, and the changes of its properties were analyzed from a microscopic perspective. The results show that the thermal and mechanical properties of the composites model with grafting number 2 improved the best. In terms of thermal properties, the glass transition temperature (Tg) value increased by 49 K, the free volume fraction decreased by 2.52%, and the thermal conductivity was the highest. In order to improve the mechanical properties and thermal stability of nylon 66 (PA66) and make it widely used in the field of automotive lightweight, 5%~20% carbon fiber (CF) was doped in PA66 matrix. The results show that the PA66 composite doped with 15% CF has better comprehensive properties than the unmodified PA66 material. The universal testing machine test shows that the tensile strength of PA66/15% CF is 180 MPa, increased by 177%, and the elastic modulus is 19 867 MPa, increased by 7.1 times. The bending strength is 262 MPa, which is increased by 212%, and the bending modulus is 15 867 MPa, increased by 6.4 times. The impact strength of PA66/15%CF is 12.7 kJ/m², which increases by 49.4%. The mass residual rate of PA66/15%CF composite is 22.8%, and the thermal stability of the material is significantly improved. Obtaining non-contact optical temperature sensing materials with good thermal stability and luminescent properties is one of the current research hotspots. In this work, Er3+/Yb3+ co doped CaGdAlO4:Erx,Yb0.10 (x = 0.006, 0.008, 0.010, 0.012, 0.014) single-phase phosphors were prepared by high-temperature solid-state method. For CaGdAlO4 : Erx, Yb0.10 powders with different Er3+ doping concentrations, the particle sizes range from 0.6 μm to 4.2 μm. When the samples are under 980 nm laser excitation, there exists two emission bands in the 500 * 575 nm range and one emission band in the 630 * 690 nm. The two stronger green emission bands located at 528 and 550 nm, and they could be attributed to ² H11/2→4 I15/2 and 4S3/2 →4 I15/2 transitions, while the weaker red emission band at 663 nm could be attributed to 4F9/2 →4 I15/2 transition of Er3+. The optimal upconversion luminescence intensity was obtained from CaGdAlO4 :Er0.010,Yb0.0. In the temperature range of 300 * 573 K, based on fluorescence intensity ratio FIR528/550 parameters, the absolute sensitivity SA increases from 44.4 x10-4 K-1 (@300 K) to 52.0 x 10-4 K-1 (@ 445 K), and then decreases to 49.0 x 10-4 K-1 (@ 573 K). The relative sensitivity SR decreases monotonically from 0.95 x 10-2 K-1 (@ 300 K) to 0.27 x 10-2 K-1 (@ 573 K). Furthermore, the heating-cooling cycling experiment shows that the thermal repeatability of temperature sensing for the phosphor is better than 98%. To develop and utilize aluminum-niobium slag, a kind of non-ferrous metallurgical waste residue produced in the preparation of metal niobium by the aluminothermic reduction method, the chemical composition, phase composition, microstructure and properties of aluminum-niobium slag were studied by ICP, XRD, SEM, TG-DTA and other characterization techniques. The results show that the oxidation of Nb and NbO leads to the poor volume thermal stability of aluminum-niobium slag. After heat treating the aluminum-niobium slag at different temperatures (400 - 1 500 °C), it is found that high temperature pre-firing treatment can effectively solve the problem of poor volume thermal stability of the aluminum-niobium slag. After pre-firing at 1 400 °C or above, the aluminum-niobium slag has stable phase composition and volume change rate as well as the refractoriness >1 790 °C, which meets the basic requirements of refractories for raw materials and lays a good foundation for its resource utilization. In order to improve the thermal stability of 2,6-diamino-3,5-dinitropyridine-1-oxide (ANPyO), polydopamine was coated on the surface of ANPyO crystal by in situ polymerization, based on the principle of dopamine oxidation self-polymerization. ANPyO@PDA core-shell composite materials with different coating rates were prepared by adjusting the reaction time. The morphology, crystal structure, molecular structure, and element content of ANPyO@PDA composites were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffractometer (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FT-IR) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The thermal decomposition performance of the ANPyO@PDA composites was also tested by thermogravimetry-differential scanning calorimetry (TG-DSC). The results show that PDA formed uniform and compact coating on the surface of the ANPyO, and the crystal and molecular structures of the ANPyO remained unchanged after the PDA coating. Additionally, the coating rate gradually increased with the growth of coating time. The thermal decomposition peak temperatures of the ANPyO were increased by 1.97 and 1.95 °C, respectively, as well as the apparent activation energy increased by 25.04 and 139.33 kJ/mol, and the critical temperatures of the thermal explosion were increased by 23.12 and 20.04 t after PDA coating for 3 and 9 h, respectively. Hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene/polyether (HT-PB/PE), serving as binders and fuel for rocket propellants, has been widely studied and applied. To meet the developing demand of industrialization, the modification of HT-PB/PE based on their structural and functional characteristics has become one of the hot topics. In this study, the modified HTPB and the modified HTPE were prepared by modification of end groups and main chains. After the preparation, the characteristic functional groups of the binders were characterized by infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) to determine the effective end-group modification. Nuclear magnetic resonance hydrogen spectroscopy (1H-NMR) was used to characterize the main chain on modified binders through the variation of chemical environment of hydrogen. The analysis of the pyrolysis properties of the modified binders was performed by thermo gravimetric analyzer (TGA). The results effectively reflected the initial and maximum decomposition temperatures, as well as the pyrolysis stage of the above binders. The above characterization results confirmed the effective synthesis of modified binders and their good thermal properties. However, the present reports lacked the studies on the pyrolysis mechanism of these modified binders. To further investigate the effect of end group and main chain modification on the pyrolysis properties of binders, the pyrolysis of modified binders was conducted in a U-shaped fixed-bed reactor, which was connected to photoionization mass spectrometry (SPI-MS). SPI-MS was used to monitor the dynamic evolution of the pyrolysis product as a function of temperature in real-time. The mechanism of the pyrolysis process of the modified binders was studied based on the above tests. The results showed that the end-groups and main-chain modified binders of HTPB exhibited different thermal stabilities. The influence of main chain modification on the pyrolysis behavior was greater than that of end group modification. The pyrolysis mechanism of modified binders followed random bond breaking of C—C and C—O bonds and the increasing varieties of products. The esters and acids were found in the pyrolysis products of the end-group modified binders. The epoxides and alcohols were found in the pyrolysis products of the main-chain modified binder, showing the more pathways during their pyrolysis process. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

For the purpose of developing high-performance and high functional rubber composites, the recent progress of modified graphene in improving the properties of rubber composites was reviewed, involving mechanical properties, thermal conductivity, barrier properties, electrical properties and thermal stability. The application prospects and problems of modified graphene as a new type of functional filler in rubber composites were prospected and analyzed. Carbon foam is a new type of carbon material. It is a lightweight porous material with a three-dimensional network structure composed of pore cells and interconnected cell walls. Compared with traditional porous materials, carbon foam has been used to adsorb various pollutants in the environment owing to its large specific surface area, excellent adsorption performance, uniform structure, good thermal stability, and high strength. At the same time, in the field of environmental governance, carbon foam can also be loaded with various functional catalysts to build a synergistic effect between adsorption and specific functions and improve the efficiency of environmental governance. Carbon foam has an integral structure which makes it exhibit excellent recyclability and reusability when used as an environmental treatment material. In this paper, the research progress of carbon foams as adsorptive and carrier materials in the field of environmental governance in recent years was reviewed, and the future research direction of carbon foams was prospected. Preparation technology of photochromic cotton knitted fabric was discussed, its properties were tested. Pretreatment and preparation technology of photochromic cotton knitted fabric were introduced. Properties of photochromic cotton knitted fabric were tested, including surface morphology, color-change property, thermal stability, water resistance, whiteness, thickness,air permeability, bursting strength and so on. The results showed that the photochromic cotton knitted fabric can change from colorless to dark purple in 5.00 s and recolor in 8.25 s under sunlight. The color-change was sensitive and reversible. The fabric properties such as thermal stability, whiteness, thickness, air permeability and bursting strength were not decreased significantly. Polyimides (PIs) have extensive applications in the aerospace industry, microelectronic and optoelectronic engineering, liquid crystal display，and separation membrane due to their high-temperature resistance, outstanding mechanical properties, chemical and radiation resistance, and excellent dielectric properties. Conventional PIs possess strong inter- and intra- molecular charge transfer interactions, resulting in an intense stack of the molecular chains, which leads to strong absorption in the visible region and brings deep color to PIs. This has considerably restricted their applications in the area of optoelectronic and microelectronic engineering. With the rapid development of display technology, PIs with excellent optical and thermal performance are desired to serve as substrate materials. However, achieving a breakthrough in the molecular design of the satisfied PIs remains challenging with regarding to the trade-off between good transparency and thermal stability of PI films. Recently, enormous research efforts have been devoted to the development of colorless and transparent PIs with high thermal stability via rational molecular structure design, as summarized in this review. These fabrication strategies mainly include the introduction of strong electronegative groups, alicyclic structures, bulky pendent units, asymmetric and rigid noncoplanar segments, and polymerizable inorganic nanoparticles. The incorporation of these structures plays an important role in disrupting the conjugation between the PI chains. This disruption reduces the regularity and weakens the stack of the molecular chains, while increasing the free volume of the PI chains, thus prohibiting the formation of inter- and intra- molecular charge transfer complex. All these are beneficial to minimize the absorption in the visible region and the formation of colorless PIs. Then, the influences of molecular structures on the properties of PI, such as thermal properties, optical performance and solubility, are discussed. In order to explore the feasibility of the polyimide as a fire-retardant fabric for firefighting suits, the mechanical properties, combustion properties, thermal stability, weather resistance and thermal protection properties of the polyimide and aramid 1313, aramid 1414 and PBI fibers and fabrics were investigated, respectively, and their properties were compared by gray-scale clustering analysis. The data showed that the tensile properties of the polyimide fiber were better, the flame retardant and thermal stability were far superior to those of the other three fibers, and the UV resistance and low temperature resistance were good but high temperature steam ability was not good enough, the polyimide fabric was excellent in fracture and tear resistance, and the flame retardant and heat protection performance was also superior to other flame retardant fabrics. As a fabric for firefighting suits, it can provide excellent thermal protection performance and mechanical protection performance, while having good dimensional stability and comfort.
