Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have great potential in the treatment of ischemic stroke. Because they possess low immunogenicity, high proliferation, and different capabilities. MSCs are mostly derived from bone marrow, adipose tissue, and placenta; they act mainly by regulating immune and inflammatory responses, neuroprotection, and promoting angiogenesis; they can be introduced into the body via intracerebral or intravascular injection, and their efficacy in treating ischemic stroke can be enhanced when combined with physical methods such as hypoxic pretreatment. This paper reviews the animal studies of MSCs treatment of ischemic stroke and describes the therapeutic effects of MSCs on ischemic stroke model animals from the perspectives of the types of MSCs, mechanisms of action, injection methods, and physical methods of intervention to enhance the efficacy of MSCs, to provide new ideas for the clinical treatment of ischemic stroke. Cognition disorders is a common complication of epilepsy, which seriously affects patients' activities of daily living. Timely measures can avoid further impairment of patients' cognitive function. There are many risk factors for cognition disorders in patients with epilepsy. This paper summarizes the risk factors related to cognition disorders in patients with epilepsy, and classifies them according to epileptic factors and non-epileptic factors, so as to provide a theoretical basis for accurate treatment of epilepsy. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a common neurological degenerative disease that can cause structural and functional abnormalities of the heart. Amyloid-β protein (Aβ) and AD-related gene variants play important roles in the pathophysiological changes of the heart associated with AD. This paper reviews the structural and functional damage of the heart associated with AD and its possible mechanism of action, providing theoretical basis for a comprehensive understanding of AD and exploring new drugs and therapeutic targets. Subjective cognitive decline (SCD) refers to the preclinical stage of Alzheimer's disease (AD) in which patients have the chief complaint of cognitive decline but no objective manifestations. It is considered to be an earlier stage of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) than the preclinical stage of AD, and the risk of progression to AD is higher. At present, there is a limited understanding of SCD in China. This paper reviews the concept of SCD, the status quo of epidemiological research, research framework, related risk factors, its relationship with AD, as well as the progress of neuropsychological tests and imaging research, so as to provide the possibility for the early clinical diagnosis and treatment of AD. Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) is a group of clinically rare neurodegenerative diseases caused by misfolding of prion proteins, and is the most common type of human prion diseases. Since the prion characteristics were recognized in the 1970s, the diagnostic detection technology has made great progress, especially the real-time quaking-induced conversion (RT-QuIC). This paper describes the pathogenesis of CJD, the mechanism of action of RT-QuIC and its application in the diagnosis of CJD in order to promote the application and development of RT-QuIC technology in the field of CJD. With the rapid development of neuroelectrophysiology, neuroimaging and other technologies, a large amount of evidence has shown the occurrence and development of epilepsy was closely related to cortico - subcortical neural network. 7T ultra-high field MRI (7T MRI), with its high resolution, high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and high contrast, is superior to conventional field intensity MRI in clinical applications such as diagnosis of hippocampal sclerosis (HS) and focal cortical dysplasia (FCD), assisting in the identification of pathological subtypes of the both, locating the scope of surgical excision, and has made progress in the diagnosis and treatment of drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE). Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disease characterized by progressive involvement of upper motor neuron (UMN) and lower motor neuron (LMN). With the rapid development of sequencing technique, genetic screening of ALS improved from a single locus site sequencing to whole exome sequencing (WES) or whole genome sequencing (WGS), more and more pathogenic genes affecting the occurrence and development of diseases have been discovered. At present, the pathophysiological mechanisms of ALS mainly include abnormal protein aggregation, abnormal DNA or RNA function, changes in cytoskeleton and axon dynamics, autophagy process, lysosome dysfunction, and mitochondrial dysfunction. Exploring the genetic mechanism of ALS has great significance to elucidate its pathophysiological mechanism. This paper reviews the main pathogenic genes, genetic research methods and related pathogenic mechanisms of ALS, reveals the pathogenesis and development of the disease and related pathophysiological mechanisms, and provides new strategies for the treatment of ALS. As the number of obese and elderly population increases worldwide, sarcopenic obesity is becoming associated with a higher risk of adverse events and outcomes in multiple clinical situations, including cancer. However, there is a lack of unified definition and diagnostic criteria for sarcopenic obesity, and the interaction between sarcopenic obesity and cancer needs to be further clarified. This paper systematically and comprehensively summarizes the relevant definitions and diagnostic methods of sarcopenic obesity, discusses its clinical impact on cancer patients in detail, including the impact on patients undergoing surgery and chemotherapy, and briefly describes the main prevention and treatment strategies. This paper reviews literature and concludes that the incidence of sarcopenic obesity is high in cancer patients, but its definition and diagnostic criteria are still controversial. Sarcopenic obesity is an independent predictor of cancer prognosis with important clinical application value.

Primary liver cancer is one of the common cancers in the world and with extremely high morbidity and mortality. This paper details the current epidemiology of primary liver cancer, population attributable fractions and associated risk factors in China. In this paper, we found that hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C virus are still the main risk factors for the development of primary liver cancer by searching the databases such as PubMed, Web of Science, and CNKI. With hepatitis B virus vaccination and antiviral treatment, the incidence of primary liver cancer in China has slightly decreased, but the incidence of primary liver cancer caused by metabolic factors such as diabetes, obesity and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is gradually increasing; smoking and alcohol consumption are also important risk factors. This article summarizes the epidemiological characteristics and risk factors of primary liver cancer, which can provide practical evidence-based medicine evidence for the development of preventive and control measures for primary liver cancer.

In recent years， with the continuous progress of DNA extraction and detection technology， cell-free DNA（cfDNA）has been widely used in the life science field， and its potential application value in forensic identification is becoming more and more obvious. This paper reviews the concept， formation mechanism， and classification of cfDNA，etc.， and describes the latest research progress of cfDNA in personal identification of crime scene touch DNA samples and non-invasive prenatal paternity testing （NIPPT）. Meanwhile， this paper summarizes the potential application of cfDNA in injury inference， and discusses the advantages and disadvantages of common cfDNA analysis methods and techniques， and its application prospects， to provide a new idea for the wide application of cfDNA in the field of forensic science.

Biological evidence is relatively common evidence in criminal cases, and it has strong probative power because it carries DNA information for individual identification. At the scene of fire-related cases, the complex thermal environment, the escape of trapped people, the firefighting and rescue operations, and the deliberate destruction of criminal suspects will all affect the biological evidence in the fire scene. Scholars at home and abroad have explored and studied the effectiveness of biological evidence identification in fire scenes, and found that the blood stains, semen stains, bones, etc. are the main biological evidence which can be easily recovered with DNA in fire scenes. In order to analyze the research status and development trend of biological evidence in fire scenes, this paper systematically sorts out the relevant research, mainly including the soot removal technology, appearance method of typical biological evidence, and possibility of identifying other biological evidence. This paper also prospects the next step of research direction, in order to provide reference for the identification of biological evidence and improve the value of biological evidence in fire scenes.

BACKGROUND: Currently, electrospun nanofibers, which are biomimetic materials of natural extracellular matrix and contain a three-dimensional network of interconnected pores, have been successfully used as scaffolds for various tissue regeneration, but are still faced with the challenge of extending the biomaterials into three-dimensional structures to reproduce the physiological, chemical as well as mechanical properties of the tissue microenvironment. OBJECTIVE: To summarize the process and principles of electrostatic spinning and to explore the applications of the resulting electrospun nanofibers in tissue regeneration of skin, blood vessels, nerves, bone, cartilage and tendons/ligaments. METHODS: With “electrospinning, electrospun nanofibers, electrospun nanofiber scaffolds, tissue regeneration” as the Chinese and English search terms, Google Academic Database, PubMed, and CNKI were searched, and finally 88 articles were included for review. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) The electrospun nanofibers are a natural fibrous extracellular matrix mimetic material and contain a three-dimensional network of interconnected pores that have been successfully used as scaffolds for a variety of tissue regeneration applications. (2) Several papers have described the great potential of electrospun nanofiber scaffolds applied to the regeneration of skin, blood vessels, nerves, bones, cartilage and tendons/ ligaments, providing a solid theoretical basis for its final application in clinical disease treatment, or for its transformation into practical products to enter the market. (3) However, the current research results are mostly based on cell experimental research results in vitro, and whether it can be finally applied to human body still needs clinical verification. (4) At present, many kinds of electrospun products for various clinical needs have been commercialized in and outside China, indicating that the research field of electrospun nanofiber scaffolds for soft and hard tissue regeneration has great research value and application potential. Every link in the occurrence and development of malignant tumors is closely related to immune regulation. In recent years, the research of Ferroptosis and the killing of tumor cells by PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors is a hot spot. Because of the effect of its precise treatment of tumors, it has been more and more applied in clinical treatment. This paper aims to review treatment delay in first-episode schizophrenia, depression, and bipolar disorder, and to compare related factors of treatment delay in the three first-episode mental disorders. It is found that increased patient responsibility, stigma, lack of disease-related knowledge, lack of access to resources, and insufficient medical support lead to delay treatment, and making patients to have longer course, heavier symptoms, and lower social functions. Wound age estimation is the core content in the practice of forensic medicine. Accurate estimation of wound age is a scientific question that needs to be urgently solved by forensic scientists at home and abroad. Metabolomics techniques can effectively detect endogenous metabolites produced by internal or external stimulating factors and describe the dynamic changes of metabolites in vivo. It has the advantages of strong operability, high detection efficiency and accurate quantitative results. Machine learning algorithm has special advantages in processing high-dimensional data sets, which can effectively mine biological information and truly reflect the physiological, disease or injury state of the body. It is a new technical means for efficiently processing high-throughput big data. This paper reviews the status and advantages of metabolomic techniques combined with machine learning algorithm in the research of wound age estimation, and provides new ideas for this research. Age estimation based on tissues or body fluids is an important task in forensic science. The changes of DNA methylation status with age have certain rules, which can be used to estimate the age of the individuals. Therefore, it is of great significance to discover specific DNA methylation sites and develop new age estimation models. At present, statistical models for age estimation have been developed based on the rule that DNA methylation status changes with age. The commonly used models include multiple linear regression model, multiple quantile regression model, support vector machine model, artificial neural network model, random forest model, etc. In addition, there are many factors that affect the level of DNA methylation, such as the tissue specificity of methylation. This paper reviews these modeling methods and influencing factors for age estimation based on DNA methylation, with a view to provide reference for the establishment of age estimation models. Functional neurological disorder (FND) is a neuropsychiatrie disorder characterized by the presence of neurological symptoms in the absence of any neurological abnormality that can be linked to a known pathology. There is currently limited research available regarding diagnosis and treatment of FND in children and adolescents. Pediatricians and neurologists have insufficient understanding of the disease. Patients have often been misdiagnosed, correctly diagnosed after lengthy delays, or lead to inappropriate treatments. This paper reviews the pertinent clinical and historical features, diagnostic criteria, and multi- disciplinary management of FND in the pediatric population, in order to improve clinical understanding of the disease as well as its diagnosis and treatment. Vertigo and dizziness are common clinical symptoms. Although most patients have a good prognosis, vascular vertigo and dizziness can have catastrophic consequences if not recognized promptly. At present, vascular dizziness and vertigo are still very significant problems in clinical missed diagnosis, diagnosis generalization and over examination. The publication of the international "Vascular vertigo and dizziness: diagnostic criteria" provides a basis for clinicians' diagnosis and treatment behavior. Functional neurological disorder (FND) is a disorder of the autonomic motor or sensory system with well-defined symptoms, which covers functional movement disorder, psychogenic non-epileptic seizures, functional sensory disorder, functional cognitive disorder, persistent postural perceptual dizziness and so on. Its complex and diverse characteristics make the diagnosis and treatment of the disease and research difficult, so FND has long been a "gray area", but its high incidence, disability rate and high consumption of medical resources remind us that FND cannot be ignored. Paroxysmal kinesigenic dyskinesia (PKD) is a kind of nervous system disease characterized by paroxysmal involuntary movements induced by sudden movements. Neuroimaging studies have found that there are structural changes or abnormal functional connectivity in the basal ganglia, thalamus, cortex and other brain regions in PKD patients. The weakened inhibitory and regulatory function of the basal ganglia to the thalamus or the dysfunction of the thalamus itself may cause over-activation of the cortical region, resulting in involuntary movements. Recent studies have found that abnormal cerebellar function plays an important role in the pathogenesis of PKD, and abnormal cerebellar cortex can affect its normal inhibitory effect on deep cerebellar nuclei, also leading to excessive activation of thalamic - cortical pathway. This paper reviewed the mechanism and research progress of PKD in recent years, mainly focusing on the basal ganglia-thalamic-cortical circuit and the cerebellar-thalamic-cortical circuit, so as to improve clinicians' understanding of the pathogenesis of movement disorders. Epilepsy is a common neurological disease in clinic. Epilepsy caused by structural causes can be cured by surgery, which has been the focus of attention in the field of epilepsy surgery. With the development of gene sequencing technology, more and more studies have found that structural etiology may be caused by somatic mutations of genes. In this paper, somatic mutation-related pathogenic genes of four common pathological types of epilepsy surgery, including malformation of cortical development (MCD), long-term epilepsy associated tumor (LEAT), hippocampal sclerosis (HS) and hypothalamic hamartoma (HH), were reviewed, and their effects on surgical protocol formulation and prognosis were reviewed, in order to provide a new idea for the treatment of epilepsy.
